Posts: 765 Group: Personal Forum Moderator Member #20 Joined: Dec 21, 2007	so im getting a set of fire poi this week. or im buying them, anyhow, prolly be next week before i get them. ive seen some videos, located some tutorials on utube, and fully realize it isnt something ill be amazing at for at least a few weeks.

Posts: 765 Group: Personal Forum Moderator Member #20 Joined: Dec 21, 2007	actually the interest started with a photographer's random remark about wanting to photograph a fire dancer... then i told a story about being drunk an a ww2 memorial on a mountain in germany and finding an old tshirt in a stone gazebo and setting it afire and spinning it around... next thing you know, we are planning our fire poi shoot. no i wont be wearing any hawaiian anything. prolly jeans since they are somewhat fire resistant. jeans, boots, and maybe some black body paint. we are trying to find a good location for the shoot with some trees and a good view of the night sky. its finally a good thing that i dont have any hair on my head. nothing there to catch fire if i smack myself and the fuel used doesnt burn all that hot so im expecting only minor burns.

Posts: 765 Group: Personal Forum Moderator Member #20 Joined: Dec 21, 2007	Jee Aug 21 2008, 11:04 PM That would actually look kind of wild if he did something like tribal designs on his face and body. samkat would agree if she wasnt obsessed with making snide remarks to me...since she sees me as the biggest threat it makes her feel good to be snide to me. maybe i should smack her around a bit.... i was thinking black handprints.... and something tribal to fill the empty space.. i dont want to wear shirt because it would prolly give me another permanent burn scar and i dont want to be going to the hospital to have skin peeled off me for months again... because it sucked pretty bad. shirtless, there is less to melt into my skin. but im not a model so some decoration would go a long way to make a still photo more interesting. so, darkness, fire, the moon, perhaps some water and trees... i can think of no better decoration than black body paint... Pavlov would be proud. Just pickin' on ya, Morbid. I'm sure it takes a lot of practice and will just be one of those things that comes with time. It will be cool to see once you are able to do it where can light them though. I'm just envious because I wouldn't be able to do it at all prolly without catching my hair on fire.
