Katsuragi Matsuhiro was having the biggest dilemma of his life. After finding out that he was stuck in ARH, naturally, he was worried at first. But then he remembered about his situation, and thought that it wasn't that big of a deal. Of course, Matsu wanted to get back to his own home, but there was no rush to it. He decided to stay at the Reality House while the tried to find out how to get out of this place. On his way to his newly proclaimed room, however, he made a huge mistake. After the events that had happened today, he had been very tired, and was complaining about how he didn't like skirts and questioned himself why he was cross-dressing in the first place. That's when he bumped into him. Matsu didn't know his name, but he knew he was talking loud enough for the guy to hear what he said. Realizing his error, Matsu ran away before the guy could even say a word. And that's how he ended up at the rooftop, currently cursing himself for being so stupid and letting his guard down. He sighed for the XXth time that day, and leaned on the railings. It was such a beautiful day, but he couldn't even enjoy it because he kept thinking about that guy. He could just see it, the next day everybody at the house would be talking about a cross-dresser being among them. And then, the guy would see him and point "There he is! That's the guy I was talking about! That girl is actually a guy!" And then, his (already battered) pride would be crushed forever. "Damn that four-eyed freak. If he tells anyone, I'm gonna kill him..." Matsu muttered darkly. |

There would be an attention-grabbing flash, an afterglow of glittering air, and standing within the remains of the intrusive display would be a new arrival. Standing on the roof of the stairwell leading up to the house’s open-air top floor, the tall figure was clothed in a suave attire of black leather and red cloth. White hair fluttered lightly in the soft breeze while piercing brown eyes seemed to stare off for miles. Strong arms were folded across a broad chest as the smallest of unsatisfied scowls adorned the man’s placid face. He seemed used to appearing places out of nowhere, but also appeared confused as to where particularly he had ended up. Something’s not right here… Archer was used to being brought out of nothingness and thrust into existence thanks to his contract as a guardian of Earth so that fact didn’t concern him at present. What did make him ponder was that he didn’t feel like he had been brought to Earth at all, he felt no pull, no call of duty, no connection with the ground on which he stood, or more accurately the ground on which the structure he stood on was constructed. However, if this was not Earth than where the hell could it otherwise be? The warrior tried to pull up recent memories in search of possible clues. The last thing he remembered was dying at Berserker’s hands in an effort to buy time for the escape of his master, Tōsaka Rin, along with her friends Saber and Emiya Shirō. Shirō… Archer ground his teeth together only slightly at the thought of the name, remaining otherwise poised as the image of his past self surfaced in his mind. He had only been part of that war and servant to Tosaka because of his desire to dispatch the younger him from this life and prevent a lot of future pain for both of them. The fact that he stood now was proof of the fact that Shiro had survived the war, had defeated the other servants battling for the Holy Grail. Why he had stepped up to delay Berserker for the others wasn’t entirely clear to him. If he had done nothing, the monster of a servant would have destroyed them all and that would have solved his Shiro problem. Then again, he couldn’t have let Tosaka and Saber die in the handling of a personal vendetta. It had been the only way and in the end it solved nothing for him to have gone back to that past era of his youth. “No use sulking about it now, I suppose.” Archer muttered to himself, more concerned at the present with figuring out what was going on. Where exactly was he? His sweeping gaze initially tracked the surrounding area, no difficult feat for his sorcery-enhanced eyes and the high vantage point in which he found himself. When he started to zone in and observe his more immediate surroundings he found himself in the company of a young girl. The black hair, the school uniform, she somewhat reminded him of his former master. He needed answers and she seemed like the best place to start at the moment considering she was the only one he could find within earshot. “You, girl.” Archer voiced from above, his tone clipped but not particularly rude. “Would you mind telling me where ‘this’ is?” He figured the question would come off as odd, at least for most people, but he couldn’t think of a better way to phrase his quandary on the spur of the moment. All he knew was that something felt amiss and that he didn’t know where he was. |

Matsu jumped when he heard a voice behind him. Then, slowly, he turned to see a man, probably in his 20's or 30's, standing at the roof of the stairs. His hair, he noticed, was white. He wondered why he had such a peculiar hair color, when he remembered that the other people he had seen earlier that day also had strange hair colors. 'Maybe they have different hair colors in other realities?' he thought, standing up straight. The question the man asked also puzzled Matsu when he realized that the man was probably one of them. He smiled sweetly. "You don't know where you are? That means you've just arrived. My name is Katsuragi Meiko, and this--" he said, gesturing towards everything around them, "--is Anime Reality House. It is a place that exists everywhere and no where all at once. The building we're currently on is called the Reality House." Matsu walked towards the stairs and looked up at the man. "I've only arrived at this place a few hours ago myself, so I don't know that much about this place. But they did tell me something; we can't leave this place. Well, it's more like nobody knows how to leave this place. Also, there are "gods" from this realm, but they're not much help. From what they told me, they're not saying anything about why we're here or how we can leave this place. If you want to know more, there are probably some people downstairs that can help you," he said. "Oh how rude of me. I'm sorry, but what is your name?" Matsu asked, with a slightly apologetic smile. |

Archer listened carefully to what the young girl had to say, analyzing everything and dismissing nothing out of hand. While most would scoff at her bizarre explanation as if it were fantasy she simply pulled out of her head to mess with the misplaced, and though he wasn’t ready to accept all of the information that she handed over outright, there wasn’t a better explanation that Archer could think of so he planned to take her at her word for now and learn if everything he heard was fact as he studied the place more thoroughly later on. One thing that perked his attention, besides the whole alternate dimension thing and all, was the fact that he was going to find it hard to return from whence he came. “So we’re trapped here, huh?” Archer mused aloud, scratching at his snowy locks with one hand while the other found a resting spot on his hip. “Well, its not like I had much of a future to look forward to where I came from.” If you could even call being contracted as the Earth’s guardian a future, having to constantly be called upon to take hundreds or even thousands of lives as tribute to the greater good of humankind, practically spitting on the ideals he’d carried with him since his youth before grinding them under his own heel… If you could even call that a future then it was a future he could do without. He had no contract with this other dimension and if it was powerful enough to drag him here than it was probably powerful enough to keep him from his other obligations. It sounded like he was finally free of his contract. Deciding that, while it was fine for him, talking while looking up like this must be hard on the young girl’s neck, the Heroic Spirit decided to bring the conversation to eye level. With a light jump from the stairwell rooftop, he glided down the less then a dozen feet to the ground with a soft touchdown, standing a mere few feet from the girl who had answered his question. “My name?” Archer reiterated as the girl who had revealed her name to be Katsuragi Meiko asked for his in turn. He was led by instinct to nearly say Emiya Shirō, but now that he thought about it this was a new life and that name’s only attachment was to a person he had lost faith in long ago. “It’s Archer.” He finally answered, deciding that the use of his class from the Holy Grail War would be satisfactory from now on. “So, now that we’re all uprooted from our past lives and dropped off on this dimension’s doorstep, what happens next? What have others done in terms of adapting? For starters, where do they find a place to live?” |

Matsu watched as the guy jumped down from the roof with a light thud. There was something odd about him; he was different from anybody Matsu has met. He had an aura of somebody who has been through a lot. Then again, there were a lot of people he met from this realm that had the same aura. Either way, the man didn't seem hostile, and was taking the news rather well. He remembered when he first found out a couple of hours ago freaking out about what to do. He felt utterly hopeless until he remembered that there were people like him too. The people that were greeting him, they too have been through the same thing and had managed living on. If they could do it, Matsu thought, he could do it too. 'Because I've been through worse,' he thought, smiling bitterly. Remembered that he was still talking to someone, and that it was rude to just ignore them, he quickly wiped the bitter smile off his face and replaced it with a more gentle and bright one, the one he remembered Meiko use all the time. "Archer-san, then. It is a pleasure meeting you," Matsu said with a slight bow. "As for what happens next, I'm not really sure. I guess you're allowed to do what you want, for now. Although finding a place where you can live is really easy; you're standing right on it. The Reality House has a lot of bedrooms, and for some reason, no matter how many people stay here, there seems to be just enough room to stay in. Most people prefer to just stay here instead of finding an alternate living quarter. You are free to come and go, nobody is stopping you," he said. |

“We’re welcome to stay here?” Archer pondered as he looked around himself. It was hard to get a feeling for a place when you were standing on the roof, but from what he could tell it looked like a pretty big place, maybe as large as the Emiya estate, though with a modern architectural design. He would have to take a look around inside if he wanted to truly size up the place in any proper fashion, but from what he saw at a glance it was a well-to-do abode with which to be living in for the rest of his life. Seeing as he knew nothing of the dimension he was in and was practically being given a lifeline with a free place to live right under his feet the Epic Spirit would have to have a screw loose to turn it down. “Nice accommodations for a prison.” The red-clad warrior chuckled to himself as he tapped a heel to the roof of his new home. “I guess I’ll take this dimension’s offer and stay here.” He then took a moment to consider the girl in front of him. She didn’t have the air of a warrior about her, nor did she appear to be a magus. If anything he could only detect normalcy from her. That most likely implied that she wasn’t used to strange occurrences happening to her everyday, which meant she had no desensitization to paranormal events. For someone like Archer it was understandable that he could get back on his feet pretty quickly after being bowled over by an unbelievable story, but he was surprised that the girl was doing so well after only arriving here shortly herself. “What about you, Katsuragi-san?” Archer voiced while studying the girl curiously with his hawkish brown eyes. “You seem to be taking the unusualness of the situation pretty well for only getting here a few hours ago.” |

"Yes, we're welcome to stay here. Pretty convenient isn't it?" Matsu said. He really wouldn't have known what to do if he was thrown in this realm and the Reality House had not existed. Right now, it was his sanctuary; a place he could back to and feel safe and secure. He still wasn't too sure about this ordeal, but there was not much he could do about it but go with the flow. Matsu smiled. "There's not much of a choice, is there?" he said. "It's either stay here or go homeless. And living here probably won't be too bad; it provides you with everything you need. I'm not so sure about it myself, but that's what they told me," he said shrugging. "It's weird though. Up until now, I never knew there were other dimensions. If I wasn't brought here, then I would have continued living a monotonous life, never knowing about what was really out there. I would've been stuck in a cage, seeing things, but not having the chance to experience things on my own." 'And with the way my life was going, I have no doubt I would've died early,' Matsu thought, but decided to leave it out. He giggled. "I guess this isn't too bad. It would be like the adventures on those anime I used to watch." "I guess I really am taking all this too well. I don't really know why though, but it's like a big weight was lifted off my shoulders. Just think about it though, you're given a chance to have a fresh start and become who you really want to be and do the things you really want to do. Nobody will judge you because they don't know you yet; we're all strangers stuck in this realm," he said. It's a bit too late for me though, Matsu thought, remembering about the guy with the glasses. "But I wonder though," Matsu thought as he looked up at the sky. "What's happening back at my world? Is time moving? Has it stopped and is waiting for me to come back? What about my parents? Are they looking for me? Are they worried? Or do I simply not exist in that world?" He gave a bitter laugh. "It wasn't like I was attached to that world anyway. It was just that, a 'world' I was born into. And I didn't really have any friends from the start. The only person I truly cared for left early..." he said. Then, in a split second, all of bitterness and nostalgia had left Matsu, only to be replaced with a nervous smile. "Oh what am I doing, ranting like that? I'm so sorry about that, Archer-san, you must have gotten bored already," he said. "Ah, but what about you? What kind of life did you lead before you came here, Archer-san?" he asked. |

“Indeed, this place could wind up being a refreshing change from the norm.” Archer answered when the girl suggested they were taking part in an adventure. Of course he already experienced a life as exciting as any anime or manga from his world, but just about any change was a preference to those happenings he was used to. Unlike how Meiko saw the situation as an exciting escapade, the whole situation would probably turn out to be the closest thing to a vacation that Archer had experienced in a long time. Sure he had those long periods of sleep between the Earth’s callings, but that wasn’t relaxing, just tedious and boring. He thought pleasantly on his new found freedom until Meiko started discussing her past life, at which point he pulled out of his private thoughts to listen more carefully. He certainly had it bad in his past life and couldn’t imagine anyone being any worse off, though of course he was biased. However, from her words this girl he met seemed to have lucked out in her own way by being brought here from her home. Evidently life wasn’t all sunshine and roses for her either, made all the more apparent by the bitterness in her voice. Of course, the way he saw it, she was better off without friends. They were just people you would end up letting down someday because you weren’t strong enough. Still, he could sympathize with her detachment to her old life. They were both probably better off here in this new world. “My life, huh?” Archer asked when questioned about it, his tone containing a bitterness to it that could easily give Meiko a run for her money. “Just a child’s existence of trying to play the hero, I suppose, chasing after some juvenile concept of justice. Carrying on fragile ideals until I came to realize that the harder I held onto them the easier they would break in my hands.” The red-clad warrior sighed before letting a humorous smirk cross his features. “Well, it doesn’t matter now, does it? It seems that we’ve both left behind lives better off forgotten about, so in the end we didn’t lose out on much.” |

Matsu's eyes softened. There was that expression again. Although it had been merely hours since Matsu had arrived in ARH, he had learned that almost anything anyone did back in the past, he could not relate with. Compared to the world he came in, theirs was much harder, more complex than he could understand. He was almost glad that he didn't understand what they went through; he didn't know what he would do. But Matsu had to wonder, what kind of things could cause Archer and the others to hold such bitterness about their past? He didn't dare ask though, for he knew that he had no right to know and would rather that the man would tell Matsu himself than him having to ask about it. Snapping out of his thoughts, he smiled brightly; although the smile didn't reach his eyes. "Oh yes, a second chance. It's like being reborn." Tucking a stray lock of hair behind his ear, he started walking towards the door leading downstairs. "I think it's about time we go downstairs. You want answers to your questions right? Or would you prefer to sit and chat with me?" she said, smiling playfully. |

“There’s not much left that I care to know.” Archer mused, leaning on one hand at his hip as he thought about it. “I don’t care about finding a way back to my own world. It doesn’t really matter how I got here now that I’m here and even if I figured out who was the cause the only thing I could do with that information is thank the one responsible for my new life.” The red-clad warrior looked off into the distance, towards the neighboring town that could just be made out from the house’s rooftop. Of course with his sorcery reinforced eyes he was easily making out specific details like the windows on the buildings. It wasn’t a particularly large settlement; he wondered how much more there was to this dimension that even his eyes couldn’t see from here. The place looked small and peaceful, though, and he would appreciate the chance to experience some quiet time. He could definitely make a home out of this place for himself. “Still, I need to have a look around my new residence.” Archer continued as he turned back to the girl, ready to follow her down the steps. “So I guess you’re right, Katsuragi-san, please lead the way.” |

Matsu raised an eyebrow. "You don't care?" he asked, quite surprised. Sure, Matsu acted indifferent when they talked about their home and living here now, but Matsu knew that he was just lying to himself. There was no way he could keep himself sane by processing all these information and truly understanding it; if he did, he would have been broken the moment he came here. He had to keep lying to himself that this was no more than just a game, and that he won't be stuck here for too long. Deep down inside, Matsu still missed his family, and still longed for the attention he was denied to when his older sister had died. They didn't see him as Matsu; whenever they looked at him, all they could see is their sweet, and precious daughter Meiko. He sometimes loathed his sister for stealing his parent's attention, which made him even feel more guilty knowing that his sister knew about his loathing and still worked hard to make his parents notice him. Because Meiko wasn't here anymore, and Matsu had stepped up to the role of Meiko for his dead sister, Matsu no longer existed in his parent's eyes, and very soon, they'll probably forget about him soon. The only one who will remember Matsu was his other older sister, Yumiko, but even she was too busy with getting married and having kids. Nobody would remember Matsu, and pretty soon, even he will forget about who he really is and become Meiko himself. It will be as if he never existed at all. Shaking those thoughts out of his head, Matsu stopped and looked back at the white-haired man. "But Archer-san, what if you found a way back to your own world? You won't go back to it even if you can? I heard that even though some inhabitants enjoy it here, they're still trying to find a way back home." He paused. "Where would you like to go first? We have a living room, dining room, a recreational room, a library, and the one we were just on was the rooftop, although that was kind of obvious. We can probably visit the bedrooms later, since the occupied rooms are off-limits and you can settle in anytime you want after learning more about this place. We also have a kitchen and bathroom, but I don't think you'd like to visit those first," he said. |

“Not really.” Archer responded with a shrug of his shoulders to the girl’s surprise. “If I stumbled upon a way to get back home I probably wouldn’t bother with it. This is going to be like a vacation for me and I’ve earned an extended break for myself.” Archer listened to Meiko describe the house in detail. It sounded like all the basic necessities and a few extra novelty rooms added into the mix. He had pegged the place correctly; it certainly sounded like his father’s old estate, large yet informal, not like the regal décor of the Einzbern mansion. That was fine with him, though; he wasn’t snobbish about those kinds of things. In fact, living in a ritzy manor probably would make him uncomfortable. He decided that since he had the convenience of a tour guide from the moment he stumbled into this world, he should take advantage of her kindly offer and get a thorough look of the place. She was right in her assessment that he had no interest in the bathroom, but he wouldn’t mind stopping by the kitchen at the end to fix something. He did enjoy those kinds of things, after all, even if a hardened warrior like himself wouldn’t admit to such. “Actually, I am feeling a bit parched.” Archer came to decide, “How about we take the most systematic route through the house you can think of that eventually ends at the kitchen and then I can fix us some tea after the tour. |

"I see, I see," Matsu smiled. "Getting away from it all, ne? Now that you mention it, this is kind of like a vacation. No one expects you to do anything. Basically you're free!" he said. Then he tilted his head, as if thinking about something. "Well, as free as being stuck here in this world that practically has everything you need. I guess it's more of a forced vacation," he said, correcting himself. Then, a cheerful smile made its way on his lips. "But a vacation is still a vacation, whether it's forced upon you by unknown Gods that won't say anything or going by your own free will!" he said, giggling. Forming a plan for the tour he was going to give Archer, Matsu looked at the man once again. 'I guess for the second floor, we could just go through everything we pass, and then when we reach the first floor, I could show him the living room, dining room, backyard, front yard, and at least show him where the bathrooms are in case he needs to do his business. Then we could go to the Kitchen. Hmm, if I remember, the first room we should run into is the recreational room...' he thought. "Alright, sounds like a plan to me," Matsu said. Turning back around, he started heading down the stairs once again that was leading to the hallway. "Okay then, this tour officially starts. Let's go~" he said. |

“Lead the way, Katsuragi-san.” the red-clad warrior responded with a courteous smile to Meiko’s announcement. The girl certainly was a chipper one, Archer thought as he watched her make her way down the stairs. This tour might not just be informative, but he might even have a little fun for a change from going along with it. He didn’t waste time lingering on the roof, it wouldn’t do to keep his tour guide waiting after all, and followed Meiko down the stairs just a handful of paces behind her. As he let the girl lead the way, the Heroic Spirit considered what other beings might have been brought to this Anime Reality House dimension. From what Meiko had explained to him during their introduction, it sounded a lot like the Holy Grail Wars, snatching up all sorts of heroes from across time. The possibilities of what kind of characters he might wind up running into were seemingly endless and he had a feeling that if he had been brought here than he’d be meeting a number of others who weren’t as normal feeling as what he sensed from the girl guiding him around the house. |

Matsu was particularly happy that moment, and he didn't exactly know why. Perhaps it was because he could act as childish as he wanted and nobody would comment that it was "unsightly of her". When he acted as Meiko, he had to be proper and graceful, never raising his voice and acting mature. But nobody in this world knew that, and Matsu was able to become whoever he wanted without anyone telling him how to act. 'Almost,' he thought. But not quite. I still have to cross-dress, since a lot of people have already seen me as Meiko. Just thinking about what would happen once they found out he was cross dressing made him shudder. His pride would be shattered, nobody would take him seriously, and of course, there are going to be the perverts who thinks he's doing this for fun. Matsu was well aware that despite this being a different world, it's not going to be much different compared to his old world. Pushing those thoughts out of his head, he forced a smile as he saw the first room: the Recreational Room. He stopped right in front of the door. "Alright then, this is our Recreational Room. There's a lot of fun stuff here; pool tables, game systems, fuss ball, ping-pong, and a television set. It's basically your place you have fun," he said. |
