I think we should be able to delete our own post. In case we make a mistake or double post. Many other types of forums have this. |

I know what you mean, but if we gave this option to the members then they can post whatever they want, as long as they delete it on time before anyone with the authority to punish them can read it. So when no one with authority is present on the forum, the members can easily post whatever they want and delete it when they see a admin or mod coming on the forum... |

The thing is usually mods can still see it even after it has been deleted. Because deleting a post usually just sends the post somewhere else. |

Think about like this. When you delete a file on the computer it gets sent to the Recycle Bin. The file is still there but no one can use it. You can restore it or delete it. It would be very similar to this. When the person deletes a post it gets sent to a place were only the mods can see it. |
