Name: Goryu Kuroi Type: Shinigami Seat: 14th (e.e last I checked) Attributes: Strength- Below Average Kidou- Average Reiatsu- Average Speed- Very High Zanjutsu- Very High Other Info: Hair Color: Black Length: Just above his jaw line. Eye Color: Dark green Height: 6'2'' Weight: 145 lb Personality: He’s an extremely bright but lazy individual who really dislikes fighting; his keen analytical mind makes him a valuable asset for any team. He’d much rather be able to just sit back and relax with some sweet dumplings under a shady tree. Though he dislikes fighting he does however enjoy training very much, though his training usually consists of heavy meditation and work on his zanjutu and shunpo making him a deadly combatant in close quarters combat. When backed into a corner and forced to fight he likes to finish it in a quick and decisive manner. Appearance: He’s a fairly handsome young shinigami with fine black hair that hangs over his eyes obscuring his bright green eyes from view. He’s very slender, almost to the point of looking ill, nearly all his body mass is muscle or bone. He’s made several alterations to his shihakusho: The right sleeve has been removed completely, several inches have been added to the left sleeve, and all the stitch work has been replaced with matching yellow thread. Around his waist he sports a long yellow sash in addition to the standard white one. On his right arm he wears a thick black brace that runs all the way down to his wrist. He can often be seen with his right hand resting lazily on the hilt of his zanpakuto. Zanpakuto: Raihime (Lightning Princess) Type: Lightning Raihime (The Spirit): Raihime's a beautiful woman with long raven colored hair and the most shocking electric blue eyes. She stands roughly five feet tall and is very well endowed. She dresses exactly like Kuroi, but the front of her Shihakusho is lower cut, and even carries an exact replica of her sealed form at her hip. She's a bright and cheerful spirit who loves making Kuroi feel uncomfortable via telling him naughty things or getting a little to close. No matter how much she might mess with Kuroi she still cares deeply for him as if she were an older sister or maybe even more. She lives well, she lives with Kuroi I guess, rather that is where she stays, her world is comprised of a bright sunny hill and a large green tree for her to rest in, the wind blows hard when Kuroi is in distress, Raihime doesn’t like strong winds. Unlike most spirits who remain within their own little words, Raihime often materializes on Kuroi's plane of existance. Raihime (Sealed): Raihime’s sheathed in a jet black scabbard with a cracked yellow design running through it. The hilt is plaited with a soft yellow and black fabric and ends in a long yellow tassel with a bell sewn into it; the hilt is a total of 1 foot in length. The guard is small and circular, decorated with two lightning bolts on either side. The blade shines brightly in even the dimmest light; its total length is 3’6’’feet in length, making Raihime’s total length: 4’6’’ feet. Kuroi carries Raihime in his yellow sash on the right side. It definitely looks like a blade meant to be on display rather than in combat. ShiKai: Anata-taichi ano atsui hi to ano samusa tetsu! Kiru o toutte ano teki, Raihime! (You're the hottest fire and the coldest iron! Cut through the enemy Raihime!) The hilt of Raihime is still plaited with the same black and yellow material. After the ShiKai release the tassel wraps around Kuroi’s arm, allowing him to fight without fear of loosing his blade. The guard has been sacrificed for the most elegant crescent at the base of the now glowing yellow blade. The blade is comprised of liquid plasma (i.e. electricity) held together with reiatsu making it a near perfect blade for attacking and defending. The blade is roughly the length of his body and no wider than his slender arm and emits a light crackling noise. The liquid plasma's magnetic field makes cutting through metal in particular easy. Attacks: Hikisaku Inazuma - Rending Lightning A powerful technique that compliments the superior cutting force of Raihime, moments before use Raihime pulses violently. Usually Kuroi muttered the command ‘Tear them apart’ though it’s not necessary. The attack is usually used once Raihime has pierced the foe as a means of certain victory by releasing massive amounts of electricity from the blade capable of ripping even the most solid barriers apart. In addition to the before mentioned method it can also be focused into a concentrated beam of electricity for medium to long range attacks; it’s the only long range attack in Kuroi’s arsenal. BanKai: Kawaii Raihime (Cute Lightning Princes.) In this form the physical blade no longer exists. Instead eight golden wings are positioned elegantly on Kuroi's back. His hair is lined with golden highlights and his eyes become shocking electric blue. While using BanKai Kuroi's speed experiences a ten fold increase and he glows the most beautiful golden color. Each wing can serve a number of uses and take a various forms on the battle field once they expire they instantly revert to their original form. Forms: Divine Blade (requires 1 wing): While in this form they posses all the same abilities as the ShiKai release but they take the form of a long pointed cross in his hands. This form has a time limit of ten minutes before it reverts to its original form. Radiant Shield (requires 2 wings): Kuroi can create a powerful dome shield capable of stopping powerful physical and kido based attacks. They posses a time limit of two minutes before they revert to their original form. 360 Degree Vision: Using six wings Kuroi can temporarily increase his field of vision to a full 360 degrees. They posses the same time limit of two minutes before they revert to their original form. Attacks: Hitsu na - Heart Breaker: A devastating close-quarters attack that utilizes four of the eight wings. Transforming them into swords they pierce the arms and legs (or any other four points within an area of ten feet.) of the target in hopes of immobilizing them. This attack can be used in conjunction with either Divine Blade or Radiant Shield. Tamashii Yubure - Soul Breaker: A self proclaimed 'unavoidable' attack. It utilizes four of the eight wings. It converts Kuroi's body into pure electricity for .52 seconds. It is unavoidable due to the fact that it strikes with the speed of lightning, at one thousandth of a second, causing massive damage and sealing the targets Hakusui in one strike. Even if the attack misses, the heat from this strike is likely to cause serious damage. Due to the strain this attack puts on Kuroi's body, several minutes are required after its use before he can use it again. 2nd State: In this form Kuroi has no visible weapon, though through his body an electric current runs that is strong enough to imobilize a potential enemy if they attempt to grab hold of him. Access to this Ban Kai state grants Kuroi mastery of electric currents both in and out of the body. His hair is now solid gold and his eyes glow white. He can create a blade similar to that of his Shi Kai release from his own electrical current and from the charged particles around him. His remaining skills at this stage remain unknown. History: While he was alive he was a very likeable young boy who had a great many friends and he excelled in everything he tried. But in the fall of his tenth year alive he fell ill with a terrible case of the flu. He was deathly ill and his mother had gone out to get more medication for him, leaving his father alone to care for their child. Then a freak lightning storm hit their town, setting buildings aflame, one of those buildings was Kuroi's home. His brave father carried the sick child through the fire and flames saving his life. The two laid there on the sidewalk for several minutes before rescue crews arrived. The father was announced dead on site and Kuroi was taken to the hospital with third degree burns covering his entire body. His mother sat next to him day in and day out, crying over her disfigured son. The pain was terrible, it hurt so much that he secretly wished to die, though he hated himself for it, he didn't want to leave his mother. On the first day of December his spirit left its body. He hung around his mother, wishing that he could comfort her in some way. He remained at her side for many weeks until one day he was following her down the street to the store. He was attacked by a giant monster (that he would later come to know as a hollow) he ran in terror of the beast but it was far to fast. It caught him in one of its giant hands and just as it lifted him to its mouth its hand was severed (A Christmas Miracle?). Kuroi saw a beautiful woman in black robes standing behind the beast. He was captivated by her beauty as she destroyed the beast. Her blade shone more beautiful than anything he'd ever seen. She kneeled down next to him with her blade still drawn, her smile made him forget about everything. She explained to him that she was a shinigami and that the thing that had attacked him was a hollow. She told him that if he stayed here then more would come and once they got him they might kill his mother, but it could be stopped if he would just pass on. With her aid he passed on to the Soul Society where he took up residence in the 5th District of West Rukongai. He was happy again, though he still had memories of a man that had once carried him from a burning building, he yearned to find this man. With no name to speak of he had little luck finding him. Though there was another person he wanted to find, he wished to see the shinigami that had saved him from the hollow; he regretted never asking her name. Oh course shinigami were easy to find, especially one as beautiful as her. He tried to talk to someone at the Academy but they couldn't help him unless he to was a shinigami. He knew in the back of his mind that there was only one thing for him to do; he'd have to go through the Academy and become a shinigami (Dun Dun Dun!). He passed the entrance exam on his first try and almost set a record, though he simply said he was just lucky. Years passed and he was doing well in the Academy. Soon graduated and became a shinigami. The first thing he did was try to find out as much information about that female shinigami as possible. It was nearly a week before he'd heard anything about the female, he'd already gotten his zanpakuto, and it seemed oddly familiar to him. He learned the shinigami's name was Mikami 'Raihime' Jun. As he held it he found it odd that he could already feel a response from the hilt. He wondered if every shinigami was this close to their zanpakuto. It was nearly a year after receiving his zanpakuto that he began to hear things, weird things, and a voice when no one was around. One day he looked at the shimmering blade and instead of seeing his own eyes he saw a pair of shocking electric blue eyes that belonged to a female. He put it to the back of his mind, telling himself it was just a trick of the light. Then several more weeks passed and he was with a group of shinigami battling a hollow. The beast made an attack at him and he was knocked back against a tree, loosing consciousness. When he awoke he was lying on grassy hill that was flooded with sunlight. He could here a woman giggling somewhere near by. It was there that he saw her; it was the beautiful female shinigami that had saved him all those years ago. She smiled at him and flashed the peace sign. She explained where he was, in her world, and that she was the spirit of his zanpakuto. It was there that he learned her name and how to use her in combat. With a kiss on the cheek he was sent back to consciousness. The hollow was dead by now. Since then he'd been particularly attune to his zanpakuto and she often appeared on his plane of existence. They acted more like friends than master and servant, but it was also no surprise that BanKai came easily to Kuroi. All she required was for him to be able to beat her in a game of shogi. After game one Raihime acknowledged him as her master.
