So what is your favorite weapon?![]() Mine is the Austrian Steyr Armee Universal Gewehr (AUG) 7th place on the Military Channels Top 10 Battle Rifles list It uses the NATO 5.56x45mm ammo which is a pretty common rifle cartridge. It's pretty accurate, but doesn't pack much of a punch. It can have either a 30 or 42 round magazine compared to only 30 rounds for the colt M4 which the U.S. Army uses. It features a bullpup design which means that the mechanics are all moved back into the stock rather than above the trigger. This reduces over all rifle length without shortening the barrel any making a more compact weapon (good for urban combat) without sacrificing accuracy. A forward hand grip is also attached which gives you more weapon stability when firing. It's ambidextrous design is another good feature. Left handed shooters are often ignored in the firearms market, but the ejection port can be reversed so the spent brass goes out the other side making it a left handed weapon. It comes with additional customizable options from a bayonet lug to various different barrel attachments to a kit that can convert it from 5.56mm nato to 9mm parabellum converting it to a submachine gun. |

I don't think the blade will ever leave the battlefield permanently. It's always a good last resort weapon. Unfortunately its days as an effective primary weapon on the battlefield are long gone. |
