A BILL
to put strict regulations on ownership of firearms


Section I

This bill shall be cited as the Firearm Ownership Act

Section II

1. Legal Ownership
(1) Age of ownership
(1,a) Nobody under the age of eighteen will be entitled to quailify for a licence
(1,b) Military personal are exempt for clause 1,a when on active service, but at no other time.
(2) A person shall only be in controlled possesion of a gun in their property if they are the following
(2,d) A holder of a valid license

2.Illegal Ownership
(1).Illegal ownership shall be deemed if a person is in possession of a firearm and doesn't meet the requirements mentioned before
(2) Type of weapons that are legally allowed to be owned
(2,a) Shot guns (see clause 1, section 2,a and 2,b)
(2,b) Pistols
(2,c) Revolvers
(3) Type of weapons banned and no public ownership will be allowed
(3,a) Machine guns
(3,b) Mortors
(3,c) Rockets
(3,d) Tanks
(3,e) Missiles
(3,f) Grenades
(3,g) Anti tank Artillary

Section III

3. Obtaining A License
(1) A person shall be able to obtain a license from a magistrates court
(1,a) applicants must undergo police checks
(1,b) The police must give the court their opinion for supporting the application
(1,c) Mental health checks must be made
(1,d) The health worker must give the court their opinion for supporting the application
(2) A course run by the police must be completed before a Licence application can be moved to the magistrates court
(2) To obtain a license a person must comply with these requirements
(2,a) No criminal record
(2,b)No history of mental illnesses


Section IV

4. Length of sentences
(1) If a person is found guilty of possession a firearm without good reason (mentioned under legal ownership) they will be sentenced to
(1,a) four years if a guilty plea is entered
(1,b)eight to fifteen years if a not guilty plea is entered but the defendant is still found guilty

Purchasing a firearm
(1) Firearms maybe purchased from licenced retail outlets
(1,a) Licence to hold a firearm must be shown before purchase can be made
(2) Secure cabinet for transportation must also be purchased

Transportation of Firearms
(1) Firearms may only be moved in a locked cabinet in a secure automobile.

This Law shall come into effect upon the president's signature
