Don't get on my flip side. It will hurt.

The warmth of the sunlight that fell on her body, coupled with the warmth her own fiery mane provided her, felt wonderful. Blitz simply loved being out during daybreak. Running about at noon felt too hot due to the severe heat of her own mane, and running about at night was too cold for her to maintain the strength of her flames. It was in the morning that the temperature was the exact moderate she needed; not too hot, but mildly so. She was now galloping across some broken pieces of stone, trying not to get scathed by some of their sharp edges. I wish Flare would take me back home, she thought, where there are endless grasslands and beaches to run on. Here, there are only rubble and rocks and broken shards of glass that make me slip and lose balance. Moreover, there was completely no vegetation here; no grass, no flowers and not many Oddish for her to set fire on and have fun with. Everything was so... boring and monotonous on this island. Except the battles, maybe. She didn't know how she could convey these things to Flare. Currently he was still in the dormitories, and she guessed he would take another few minutes to wake up like usual. Blitz couldn't sleep as long as he did, even though she did spend her energy quite expensively by running around all day long; the natural design of her body allowed her to showcase much more stamina than humans. Now at some distance away from the dormitories, she was looking for anything interesting that might keep her occupied for a while. The sun was just halfway above the egde-of-the-land, as she called it. In a few minutes, it would be all bright, and the place would be bustling with people again. Let me feel the rush of cool wind before everyone starts thinking I'm a wild Pokémon, she thought, and ran even faster. The flames on her ankles danced to the song of the wind, making it look as though the fire was following her, sticking to her body as if she was pulling them away from someone. Anything interesting? ----------------------------- Waking up sucks, Flare thought, as he threw his super-expensive golden bedsheet cover off his body and sat up. The day before had been revolting to say the least; he had had one of the most disastrous battles ever, and hoped today would be a little better. Then he noticed the sun was just rising. Fuck! Late again. He loved riding on Blitz at about six in the morning when the place was just about bright enough to get New Haven's shitty night-time danger out of the way. The early morning air gave him a jolt of strength and made him cheerful... atleast for a bit. And now he had missed it, just like he missed it everyday. Blitz would now be out wandering about in New Haven, which meant he had to now go searching for her. Goddamn tards wouldn't let me bring my bike here. He currently had three other people in his room, two of them girls. They looked somewhat nice to look at, but not impressive enough to get all of Flare's attention, so his only real pass time when he was inside the room was his iPod. Giving a scowl at one of the girls just for the heck of it, he briskly went to the common restroom, completing his routine. Then he slipped out. The outside air felt like heaven. He walked blindly for a few minutes, savoring the quiet atmosphere which would be broken in an hour or so. Then, he felt like he wanted some company, so he began searching for Blitz. Not that he was concerned for her; she knew how to look after herself better than he did. It was just that he still wanted to ride her before the place was crowded with noobs again; there were only three or four people roaming about now. He looked around, straining his eyes to find a trace of red. There was none. Damn, why do you always make me talk to these idiots. With a slight frown, he walked upto a nearby trainer and asked (remembering to cover his eyes with his hair), "Hey, you seen a Ponyta running about here?" Delicious cake!

Vivek, true to routine, was just heading out with his coat and a big bag of birdseed, although this morning he'd had the forethought to change out of his pajamas, and into a t-shirt and jeans, before leaving his dorm. Tictoc was happily hop-walking alongside him -- "skipping" just didn't quite convey the awkward-looking jerkiness of the Hoothoot's favoured mode of ambulation. It was questionable whether those birds were ever meant to "walk" in the way most species understood the word, what with their pathological inability to show both legs at a time, but they could certainly look ridiculous trying. The sound of approaching footsteps set Vivek on edge, and he stopped to turn and look at the person walking towards him. Some people -- people who knew what they were talking about -- might call it hyper-vigilance; he just considered it caution. Tictoc, likewise, stopped and turned to stare at the person distrustfully, puffing himself up to look larger. "Hey, you seen a Ponyta running about here?" Vivek looked thoughtful. He hadn't seen a Ponyta, but he'd heard something that had certainly sounded like hoof-beats a few minutes ago. He pulled a memo pad with a green cover and a mechanical pencil out of his coat pocket, set down the bag of birdseed to free up his other hand, and flipped the memo pad open to a blank page. No, but I heard what sounded like hooves earlier, that way. He held the pad out for the other trainer to see, and pointed in the general direction he'd heard the sound from earlier, towards the end of the street and to the right. [266] ((OOC: I'm ashamed of how short this is, but. . . anything else I could add to this would just be irrelevant fluff.)) Edited by Pig_catapult, Apr 25 2010, 02:55:49 AM.
