Sark Ordre'lin

Sark had woken up that morning as in the manner which was getting accustomed: loud noises, little privacy and - worst of all - a collage of smells that was enough to make even the foulest Muk vomit. But Sark remained gleefully optimistic, for each sound, each smell, it brought an adventure! Opportunity never seemed to cease knocking at Sark's door, and as sure as he was a boy, there would be the persistence in Sark to explore these opportunities, and today was no different.

Sark quickly did what dressing he had to do - face it, he basically slept in everything but shoes, considering the amazing amount of privacy here - and headed fo the 'great outdoors', not that that's saying much. Cid, of course, followed closely behind, almost audibly snickering every time the two of them heard a girl scream or whimper. It was even better when it was a guy, though, that squealed like a five-year-old school-girl.

So Sark finally made it out into the (crowded) street that seemed to be all there was to the city. It wasn't much, and there didn't seem to be any discernible locations other than that of the dormitories. It seemed all there was to do at the moment was explore, so explore he would. He sat on the ground against the wall of the front face of the dormitories and watched the faces pass by while Cid spent his time coiling around and around himself, looking every which way, used to Sark's common 'stop-and-stare's.

It didn't take Sark long to notice a young girl that was exiting the building that perked his interest. He wasted no time in approaching the young girl, putting a jovial smile on his face before introducing himself.

"Hello, m'lady. I know this may seem strange, but I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Sark, and this here is my partner, Cid. Would you care to take a walk with me?"

Straight forward. Yep, Sark had no idea of personal boundaries or pre-conceived notions of relationships and attraction. What an ice-breaker, Sark. Good work.

Though it had improved, Rin had to admit, life on Althea was no walk in the National Park.

It was horrendously frightening, Rin had learned, to see Kolek harmed. She had also learned that the idea of him fainting would be, to her, akin to setting a four-year-old's favorite blankie alight. She'd gathered the ambition to leave her dorm - packed to the modest brim with three males, of course, to greater hinder any hope for the girl's social progress - and her ambition paid off in the means of trouble, discomfort and a brutal scrape over her arm that she had to bandage. Right arm, of course; it was only instinct to brace for a fall with the stronger arm. She never quite understood who thought that instinct was a good one. Though she was glad that it wasn't her palm.

As if doing so out of pure chivalry, the door from the dormitories swung open with ease to her weaker left arm, and Rin welcomed the gentle dawn with a grin. Kolek, vigilant as per the usual, strode behind her, equally pleased by the morning's pleasant mix of sun and breeze. Typically, Althea's tropical climate was proven true, with afternoon rains that leaked into the night and mornings steamier than most romantic novels; it seemed today, however, that the island would, if only for a few hours, nestle its citizens in her bosom, as opposed to kicking them around at her feet.

A puff of wind brought a string of strands over Rin's face, prompting her to turn in its direction and remove the obstruction. With this view she took in dozens of Trainers - most on their way from New Haven, though it seemed that there were more Trainers being dropped in by the helipads - ambling with vigor and pride. So in spite of everything that had happened; in spite of her wounds, internal or otherwise; in spite of recent trauma and in spite of the poor conditions she faced upon every return to her dormitory, Rin... Rin was a little happy. And as their closeness would have it, her Scyther was a bit on the happier side today, too.

Of course, Rinia's gentle smile vanished, her expression now replaced by a rising brow and widened eyes after hearing a particularly smooth: "Hello, 'mlady."

The girl's head jerked to her right, and her eyes beheld a new face. Quite...quite an attractive face. Before she could muster a grin or meager wave, the man continued: "I know this may seem strange, but I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Sark, and this here is my partner, Cid."

Already, she felt the stinging warmth of a blush in her cheeks as she looked toward the 'companion' that Kolek had yet to remove his own eyes from. It was a large, serpentine thing with fangs bigger than her arms, red eyes and a body that could likely constrict and collapse a fire hydrant. Her Scyther's wings flared outward instinctively as he scanned his possible opponent. Before Rin could respond, Kolek uttered a resolute "Scy," and Rin took an unconscious step backward. No, she had no phobia of snakes, per se; she did, however, have a phobia of things that were...well, that were that big.

"Would you care to take a walk with me?"
There was a brief silence; likely, this man - this Sark - took note of her movement. This was quite sudden, though she'd almost learned to accommodate to suddenness. Almost.
"Uhm."
She couldn't see Kolek glaring at Sark as the Scyther analyzed every movement.
"I..."
Her gaze descended to her feet. Her face could be confused for a cherry with hair. She was a mess, and it was only made worse by the fact that she knew how stupid she looked.
"Sure, I guess. Yeah."

It was entirely unlike her to dole an ounce of trust to a stranger; she knew it and Kolek knew it. But it was just a stroll, and by God, Rin knew she wouldn't get anywhere on Althea without leaving her comfort zone. She cocked her head ever-so-slightly in hopes that Sark would begin to lead the way. A win-win, for the Scyther would rather be in no other position than one that gave vantage.

She turned and spoke to her Scyther, whose glare eased upon her sight.
"Vse idet horosho, Kolek," she said, her voice hovering above a whisper.
Rin returned her attention to Sark; not with a smile, but with the best meek grin she had.
