In My Little White Room Again

Profile [parent-class=active]Journey Computer Southstone: Walking Along the Streets [Later Afternoon; Cloudy and Relatively Cool] The sun was starting to set behind the clouds as you wandered throughout the streets of Southstone. Your adventures across the land of Alternia had eventually brought you to this port-side town, where new discoveries awaited you. Southstone was best known for the Gatsby Research Center, a place where many new trainers visited in order to receive their first Pokémon from the esteemed Professor Gatsby himself. However, there were rumors that were beginning to circulate about the Professor generously giving a Mega Ring to anyone who visited the Gatsby Research Center. Perhaps you should visit so you could see if the rumors were true? You looked up from the sidewalk you were walking upon and saw the Gatsby Research Center off in the distance. It was high up on a cliff that overlooked the ocean and the city of Southstone itself. If it was a mega ring that you wanted, then that was where you would want to go. However, as you looked around from where you stood you could now also see the Pokémon Center. As a matter of fact, it was positioned just below the cliff of the Gatsby Research Center. The day was coming to a close, so perhaps they would have a bed to spare for the night? Chances are there would also be numerous trainers hanging around the Pokémon Center if you were itching for a fight. You looked away from the Pokémon Center and down one of the sidewalks that were laid out in front of you. They seemed to be going in all different directions. That was when something peculiar caught your eye. As lifted your eyes slightly, you could see across the street that there was a small yellow ball of fur sitting next to a street light on the corner. After giving it a second glance, you recognized it to be the Pokémon Pikachu! He was sitting down on the ground with his stubby arms dangling in front of his body, staring up at the street light that loomed over him. The Pokémon tilted his head to the side, then the other, as if he was inspecting the object. Eagerly, he pushed himself up off the ground so that he was now standing on his feet. The little Pikachu waddled closer to the street light and wrapped his arms around the metal beam that was connected to the ground. "Chuuuuuuuuu!" the Pokémon cried out as sparks began crackle out from his cheeks until the electrical current was going haywire across the small Pokemon's body. The street light overhead suddenly came to life, despite the fact that there was still light outside. The bulb began to flicker wildly as the Pikachu continued to supply it with an external source of electrical energy. The Pikachu tilted his head up so that his chin was resting on the metal pole of the street light, looking up to the light bulb as it continued to flash. "Pikachu!" the Pokémon giggled as he released the street lamp and backed up a little. He covered his giggles with his tiny paws. Well he seemed like a mischievous little fellow, didn't he? Messing with the street lights and what not. The Pokémon suddenly lifted his head and looked you, finally sensing your presence. His little ear twitched once. Without seeming to give it a second thought, the Pokémon returned his attention to the street light which he began to start electrocuting again. You must have not come off as a threat to him and so he decided to just flat out ignore you.

The day was growing long. Cuburt's thoughts drifted like the reddening clouds reflecting the light of the setting sun. How did I get here again? Cuburt thought to himself, I don't exactly remember.... He shook his head slightly and decided not to worry about it. Wasn't important. What was important was getting some food. Cuburt's stomach grumbled in agreeance. Thoughts of food and the past tumbled around in Cuburt's head, mixing and blending like the smoothies his mom used to make. Stepping slowly, almost mournfully, down the sidewalk, Cuburt spotted a laboratory. Gatsby's, no doubt. He had heard tell of this place. Apparently the professor was generous, even by professor standards. Chances are if he stopped by he would be able to snag a Mega Ring. Technology sure is amazing these days, Cuburt thought as he continued to pace along, rushed only by the increasing volume of his stomach's petitions. I get it! The mega ring can wait! Shut up. You're ruining the mood. Just as a cloud floated over head, Cuburt's attention was pulled toward a flickering light. The street lamp suddenly lit, powered by a pikachu. A pikachu? This day may not be so boring after all. Maybe dinner can wait a bit longer. One final grumble from Cuburt's stomach loosed the furry of his hunger, but settled into the quiet air of the evening. The buzzing of the singular street lamp and the whimpered "pika pika" was all that disturbed the afternoon. Enjoy the quiet now. A battle brews. This pikachu looks like it's bored. I'll oblige. "Hey you, Pikachu!" Cuburt shouted in the mouse's general direction, "Want to battle?" Without waiting for a reply Cuburt sent out Cherry, his beloved Cherubi. "Oh, Cherry. It's been too long!" Cherry didn't seem to understand. She had been with Cuburt only hours earlier, battling some kid's water pokemon. Cuburt didn't completely understand what he meant either. There was just nostalgia on the mind. "Cherry, use leech seed and follow up with a Giga Drain!" The words felt so right. |
