[tab-class=profile-info][tabsection][tabs] [tab=Appearance] ![]() It could be said that Seig is a man of rich tastes, which would be true. After all, he hungers for money. As such, he quite enjoys the aspect of looking the part, which tends to draw a lot of attention to himself. The way he chooses to present himself contrasts blatantly with the typical trendy fashion of the normal people. From a distance, there are two eye-catching and memorable pieces that help make him unique: the top hat and cane. Who doesn't love a good top hat? The hat is black in color, as per the norm, and extends a good deal upwards from the base — which generally juts above all else in a crowd. Around the base of the top piece, a light grey strap circles around, clasping firmly with the assistance of a silver buckle. In general, Seig will be seen wearing his top hat. He only removes it for a few occasions, such as when adjusting his hair or sleeping. His cane, much like the hat, is an essential characteristic that helps define his unique appearance. The cane itself is slim and black, with a bit of white trim at the base. Fixed at the top is a crimson jewel — not large enough to be tacky or gaudy, yet enough to give presence. Whether its real or not is undetermined, but it certainly looks the part. He shifts between how he olds it; sometimes he'll actually use it while walking, while other times he merely holds it in his arms, tucked between his arm and his ribs. In close proximity, you can see his other `trademark` physicality: his smile. Now, when saying that, it must be understood that it doesn't mean that he has a good smile, a beautiful smile, or anything about that. It is the fact that he is always smiling. In pain, in sadness, in deceit, in anger — always with a smile. This disconcerts many a person who have had the pleasure of maintaining extended contact with him. His eyes, too, are somewhat unusual in the sense that they appear golden in color. The rest of him is fairly ordinary, as far as people go. Fair skin, dark black hair and above average in height — nothing truly special. As mentioned previously, Seig's clothing is quite fanciful. Fitting snug enough to hug his figure, his general attire consists of black suit jacket along with black slacks. Beneath the jacket is a fitted, plain white button down shirt. Topping off the ensemble are a pair of nice black shoes, their shiny luster somewhat dull due to travel, and a pair of white gloves. [/tab] [tab=Biography]Seig's past is a rather dismal thing to think about, in all actuality. Starting from the very beginning, his birth ruined a potential family completely. His mother, already a sickly woman, died while giving birth to a baby boy. Torn apart from grief at the loss of his love, Seig's so-called `father` nearly killed the child in his sorrow-induced rage. Refusing to raise the child that stole away his wife, the young one was sent to an orphanage. Unlike the unfortunate fate that befalls some abandoned children, he was adopted quite quickly by another family. Not that he is aware of that particular bit of his history. His foster parents never informed him of his adoptive status and he joined them so young that he wouldn't have know otherwise anyway. The couple raised them as their own child, which is another unfortunate experience in his childhood. Abused constantly, there was not a single moment where he experienced actual happiness — a terrible fate for a child to experience for the first eight years of his life. Shortly after his eighth birthday, following a particularly harsh day of beating, he broke down and fled the house. The question at the time was: "what now?" With no home or family to return to, Seig had absolutely nothing. He spent a few weeks just wandering the streets, keeping himself hidden from everyone. He stole bits of food to stave off starvation and made his home in the streets. He stayed like this for a spell, scrambling about, struggling to keep himself alive and the like, before he came across a man stealing from a home. It was a very peculiar man, as he wasn't just any kind of common thief trying to make a living — the path that Seig was currently undertaking. He wasn't sporting rags for clothes and he looked quite healthy. No, this man, whom Seig would come to know as Ethan, was merely thieving for his own profit and wealth. At first Ethan just brushed the kid off, giving him a small bit of cash as a bribe for his silence, though Seig had other plans in his own little mind. Instead of toddling off as the adult was hoping for, the lad tracked the man down and demanded that Ethan be his mentor. It was an amusing proposition at first, and quite unexpected from the mouth of a little child, but Ethan saw the opportunity of free help and snatched it. They stayed together for a couple of years, Seig learning many a thing and getting closer to Ethan. In his eyes, this was perhaps how a father was supposed to act. Teaching him, helping to care for him, the like. Seig's new father-figure was a powerful trainer in addition to being a more than competent theif, with a specialization in rare and powerful dragon type pokémon. Despite his affection towards Ethan, the same could not be said about the reverse. Ethan tolerated Seig, but only because he was useful at times. That's all he was to the man: a tool. A fact that young Seig found out when he was around fourteen years of age. After having made the transition from useful pawn to plotting trainee with a bit of free will, Ethan decided to discard him. Rather violently, at that. Sending his dragon Pokémon to send a very clear message was quite traumatic for a young man, and it completely shattered any faith he had gained in humanity thanks to Ethan. It took him a while to come to terms with the drastic change in his life, what with having found something wonderful only to have it taken away again. Seig had had enough of this game and was calling it quits. People were mere tools to be used and thrown away when no longer useful, that much he had learned from his old mentor. He took a few years to just go back to skulking around in the shadows, attempting to find out what path in life he should take. Then one day, it hit him. He'd go and siege the things he had tasted and been deprived of: money and power. To start, he'd need to start down the road of a trainer. Perhaps if he ever saw Ethan again, he'd be able to make up for the kind treatment. [/tab] [tab=Personality]Power and money — the typical desires that drive people in life. While not true for all, it is certainly a force that consumes and corrupts many. Without a doubt, Seig is one of those many corrupt souls. In fact, he is especially so — a dark diamond amongst a beach of black sand. The entirety of his being, all the way to his core, craves not just one, but both of these desires whole-heartedly. Unswayed by the more traditional wants of human nature, such as `love` or `companionship`, Seig is left as little more than a hollow, rotten human being. Or at least, that would be the assumption that most would declare. He is often seen as `proper` in his speech and mannerisms at first — `eloquent` in a way. Yet the meanings and intent behind the pleasantries alter the intended use behind the method of communication. Often times it is known to throw people off when conversing with Seig, leaving people unsure of how exactly to interpret him. Surprisingly, Seig is actually quite honest - often times brutally so - and is known to be a bit blunt at times. Of course, lying is second nature to him and he is more than willing to do so if he needs to for some reason or another. His blatant disregard towards others typically earns a great deal of scorn and disdain from many. As one might guess, Seig could care less about the outside opinions from people he has no feelings for. Compassion is a foreign concept that Seig is incapable of understanding. Deprived of it as a child, he simply never came in contact. A few stray people have attempted to explain it to him, but at that point he had determined that it was a pointless piece of human nature. The only person that he cares for is himself — anyone else is a pawn to be used in his rise to power. Why would people rely and trust in others, only to be hurt or drawn astray. He has no need for that. Pokémon, on the other hand, are something of a different story. Obviously he doesn't regard them as `friends`, but are perhaps the closest that anyone might be capable of getting. They too are tools, but they are special. They are the key to power and money if used properly, and he intends to use them as such. As precious tools to him, the man is apt to care for them — in his own peculiar way, at least. While lacking compassion or `love` for his pokémon, he will recognize the limits to which they can be pushed and will rarely stray past those. That is not to say, however, that he is abashed at getting them right up to the brink of their breaking points. Despite this harsh - borderline cruel - nature, he attempts to care for them as best as he is able to ensure their usefulness to him. [/tab][/tabs][/tabsection] Edited by Silas, Nov 5 2014, 09:53 PM.
