[tab=Appearance] Brady has medium-length strawberry blonde hair that falls slightly over his ears. Occasionally, he'll put some gel into his hair to sort of spike up the bangs. His eyes are on the paler side of blue, and his eyelashes are long (compared to most males). He keeps an eternal blonde stubble on his face (as he can't grow much else). He is built like a standard male, with little extraneous fat but little bulging muscle as well. He usually wears a white button-down with very pale vertical stripes running down it. He keeps his shirt tucked into his denim jeans, and his classic black belt keeps his pants from falling down. He always wears the same pair of non-brand white sneakers.[/tab]

[tab=Biography] "Class, we have a very special guest with us today!" The class held back groans; the "special guest" was always a fellow student's mom who preached staying in school and keeping up with their studies. The teacher sensed the collective dismay and quickly added, "Now class, let's make sure to give our guest a warm welcome. Professor Thorn, come on in!" The class looked at each other with wide eyes. Was this really Professor Thorn, the leading professor for research in Meora, and the professor who gave many aspiring trainers their first Pokemon?

Sure enough, a man with black, disheveled hair and a lab coat strutted into the classroom, smiling at the awestruck children as he reveled in the attention. "Helloooooo class! I happened to be around the area for a conference and figured I'd stop by and give you all a break from the hard work to talk about Pokemon!" The class cheered, obviously preferring this pleasant surprise over the math quiz they were going to have later today. "Now then... let's go around and ask everyone a pretty simple question. Who's your favorite Pokemon?" Professor Thorn listened intently to the responses he received. There were a lot of standard answers; Charizard, Blaziken, Dragonite, and Pikachu were the most popular responses.

"What's your name, child?" He crouched down and peered at the child sitting in front of him. The child stared back with his large, pale blue eyes, dumbstruck by his proximity to one of the great researchers of his time. "Uhh, Brady." Thorn smiled at Brady and the boy blushed and looked away. "Brady's a good, strong name. So! Who is your favorite Pokemon?" Brady looked down and mumbled something incoherent, and Thorn frowned. "Put your head up, boy. I can't hear you!" Brady looked up, and promptly looked back down, but he was louder in his response this time. "Crobat." The response took Thorn completely by surprise. Zubat, the pre-evolved form of Crobat, was one of the more detested Pokémon due to the swarms that inhabited caves everywhere. "How intriguing... and why do you like Crobat so much, Brady?" "Crobat is super fast, and intimidating too! Sometimes it's better to be super fast than super strong. You can only do so much with strength, but the possibilities are endless with speed!" Thorn was incredibly impressed with the child's response. "That's a very analytic approach to your favorite Pokemon, Brady. You will make a very intelligent trainer one day."

Perhaps Thorn had assumed that his words would inspire Brady as a trainer, but he inspired the thirteen year old child to take his life on a different path. Since then, he had idolized Thorn, and attempted to do everything he could to become a researcher. Brady started to keep a running research log, writing down everything he felt was important about his surroundings and the Pokémon in them. His parents noted his passion one day and suggested that he visit Professor Thorn and ask him to become a research assistant. Thinking the idea was brilliant, he began to save up any money he obtained through allowance and birthday gifts. However, he didn't anticipate a small snag in his plan, which arose around his eighteenth birthday.

He found a partner.

Or rather, he adopted a partner. Up until then, Brady had conducted a lot of research on Pokemon, but he had never owned one. He saw Pokémon as fascinating creatures that he wanted to be close to, but he would much rather observe them in their natural habitat than participate in battles with them. He was making one of his frequent visits to Vorista to visit his family (he had made the decision to move out a few months prior). As he was walking around, he saw a flyer for an adoption agency, boasting about their Pokemon's ideal attitudes and appearances. He decided to check out the agency as part of his latest project: to determine the major and minor differences between wild and captive Pokemon. When he arrived, he noticed that the usual patrons were there; members of the upper-middle class milled about without a care toward the outside world. Many patrons were impressed by how well-groomed and well-behaved many of the Pokémon were, and they tended to choose the poster upper-class Pokémon like Purrloin and Vulpix.

He also observed how the employees reacted to the event. Many of them were guiding patrons toward the Vulpix group, so Brady followed. Almost every Vulpix seemed to possess identical personalities and appearances; each one looked up at the patrons, made a cute noise, and wagged their tails. That is, except one. One Vulpix in particular stayed a marked distance away from the others, and was certainly not as interactive with the patrons. Brady studied her throughout the event, waiting for a patron to pick her up and take her away. For some reason though, Brady hoped she would stay right where she was. One patron did eventually try to purchase her, but she nipped at the snooty woman and was promptly dropped to the ground. The employees of the agency quickly brought the Vulpix behind the scenes, where she stayed for the remainder of the event.

When everything had died down, Brady requested to see the Vulpix the employees had taken away. They tried to dissuade Brady, claiming "this Vulpix doesn't properly represent our company, and we would be embarrassed to tout her as a custom-bred Pokemon." Nonetheless, Brady insisted that she was the one he wanted to see, and they eventually brought her out. Brady was enthralled by her feisty attitude, and wanted to pick her up to hold her. When he extended his hand to her, she bit him between the thumb and index finger. The employees gasped, but Brady only laughed. For the next hour or so, he played with her, swiping at her paws and otherwise antagonizing her, and she slowly warmed up to him. Near the end of the day, he was finally able to pick her up, and he tickled her under her belly. The Vulpix squealed in mild discomfort and he knew he wasn't going to leave without her. He knew he would have to put his trip to the research lab on hold for a small while, but he felt like the situation he was presented with would help him grow as a researcher and a trainer just as much as the eventual trip would. He purchased the Vulpix, and as he walked out of the agency, red fox in tow, he told her, "One day, you and I are going to meet Thorn together..."

"... Sylvia."

Over time, Brady saved enough money to meet Professor Thorn, and he asked the now aging professor to be his assistant. Brady had told Thorn the story of how they first met, and how he had been recording pertinent information since then. Thorn was impressed by the detail Brady put into his research log, and yet he frowned. "Professor, is there something wrong with the log? I admit that I've been a little bit distracted as of late..." Professor Thorn laughed and grabbed the young man on the shoulder. "Oh no, nothing's wrong with the log. In fact, I think it is very well-done, despite your lack of formal education in research... ehh... etiquette. However, I don't think staying in Meora to pursue a research career is much of an option anymore." Brady was confused. Researchers from around the world used to travel tens of thousands of miles just to hear the professor's findings. What changed? "You see Brady, since I've lived here in Meora, it has been a hub for research everywhere. But over the last few years, that has... shifted. I think there is a region that would be much more suitable for your venture."

And so, Professor Thorn directed Brady Cannon to Alternia. He told Brady of a up-and-coming researcher in the world of science, named Professor Gatsby. He was essentially Alternia's leading professor, and his lab was where many burgeoning trainers received their first Pokemon. He has been picking up a lot of steam in the research community for his discoveries of fascinating Pokémon in the region. Due to the rapid growth of the scientific landscape there, Professor Thorn advised him to move to Alternia, and find Professor Gatsby. Though he would have preferred to become an understudy for his childhood hero, he understood the wisdom in Thorn's words. If he wanted to follow his passion, he needed to find where his passion was blossoming the most, and that was Alternia. He packed up his belongings, Sylvia, and a little bit of money, and took a boat to Millenia, one of the port towns on Alternia. Brady needed to find a place to stay. Rent was a little high in Millenia due to its prosperity, so Brady chose a smaller town on Zaroff Island; Falcave Town. He chose to stay in Falcave for a couple months in order to take up odd jobs to sustain himself, before he made any bold decisions. But as Brady stood still, his urge to continue on grew. Eventually, he informed his landlord in Falcave that he would be moving out, and set out on his first steps toward meeting Professor Gatsby, and toward becoming a researcher.[/tab]

[tab=Personality]Brady is a quiet type; people who know him can usually count the number of words in his sentences on two hands. He is a very contemplative person, and most of his lengthy conversations are done in his head. He has opinions, desires, and needs just like anyone does, but he considers his words carefully, lest they get him into more trouble than they're worth. He rarely dotes on anything that's not named Sylvia the Vulpix. He's not one to confront others unless he feels serious injustice toward something. He keeps a straight face or a grimace in order to deter people from talking to him (so he can study his surroundings without interruption), but he isn't the brooding type. Despite the appearance, he keeps a relatively positive outlook on life; he hasn't experienced any tragic events to suggest he should think otherwise. Brady is a closet nerd. He's incredibly fascinated by Pokémon and how they interact with the environment that surrounds them. He has created a habit out of making his own research projects and pursuing them until he comes up with a conclusion. The small projects help give him direction in his life, since his usual style is to let the wind take him where it wants him to go.[/tab][/tabs][/tabsection]
