[parent-class=active]Profile Journey Computer[table-class=profile]
[tab-class=profile-info][tabsection][tabs] [tab=Appearance]Jonas stands at roughly around 5’8 with an average build, if a bit on the scrawny side. His deep brown eyes sit comfortably above his wide-brimmed nose and mocha skin, while his black hair is neatly trimmed as a faded mohawk. His clothes are a bit heavier than what he was typically used to back in the arid climates of Orre. He now sports a black jacket with gold trim on top of the red and black t-shirt he usually wore. Beneath that he wears a black belt that’s holding up an unremarkable pair of navyblue jeans, and a pair of simple black sneakers adorn his feet. For accessories, he wears a black flat cap atop his head, one brass stud in each ear, and a black and red single-strapped backpack to hold his belongings. Though his belt has notches that allow it, he typically keeps his used pokeballs attached to a special wrist-band underneath his sleeves that allow for three balls on each arm.[/tab] [tab=Biography]Pyrite Town, the town of earth, wind and money. With a name like that, it should come as no surprise to see the types of people who called it their home. Orre itself is a rough region to live in, but Pyrite was especially known as a place where only the strong or cunning can survive. Yet for all it’s scum, cheats, dangers and villainy, it was still the one place in the world that Jonas called home. He didn’t remember much about when or how his life came to be. Things were just always the way they were. His parents were little more than a fuzzy memory in his head, so instead the streets were what raised him. Like many of the other directionless youths in that town, he had to lie, cheat and steal his way to survival. It was a wonder that he managed to last as long as he did without ever getting into any major trouble. Be it by the law, or something much more unsavory. However, that luck did eventually run out. Jonas was around eleven years old when he attempted to steal an item from the wrong type of guy. He was the type of guy that would make you want cross the street if you saw him coming your way, and also the type of guy that wasn’t above harming a child. Had another man not stepped in when he did, this story likely would have taken a much darker turn. He went by the name of Forest, and after a bit of strong-arming and a couple threats involving a Scizor and a very sensitive area, he got the goon to back down. After spending some time with Jonas, Forest took a liking to him. It was either because he saw some hidden potential inside the child, or he just admired the moxy of an eleven year old who tried to pick the pockets of someone over five times his size. Either way, that was when Forest decidedly took Jonas under his wing, and taught him the family business. Fast forward several years later, and Jonas became every bit of the conman that Forest trained him to be. With nothing left to learn, and Pyrite Town only leading to dead ends and glass ceilings, Forest felt it was time for Jonas to move on. After loaning him a few Pokémon from his own stock, some starting equipment, and ferry ticket to Alternia, he left Jonas with these parting words. “Orre is over. You’ve always had potential, but if you stay here, you’re just going to be stuck playing the same game for the rest of your life like the rest of us. I’m sending you to Alternia because it’s still ripe, and I’m leaving you with three simple tasks:” “Make money, make connections, and to make that region your own.”[/tab] [tab=Personality]Growing up in the type of environments Jonas did, it’s no small wonder that he would pick up a few negative attributes along the way. For one, if you’re a professional scam-artist, being a good liar just comes with the business. It would also be fair to say that Jonas is very good at his job. The man was gifted with a silver tongue, and he certainly knows how to use it. Lying to save face, lying to get a leg up over someone, or lying to protect the truth. He isn’t above any of it, because lying is what’s kept him alive all these years. He also has a bit of a chip on his shoulder. The man makes it obvious that he thinks pretty highly of himself, but that confidence can also sometimes be viewed as an admirable trait. He isn’t the type to strut around town decrying his greatness or anything, but if the situation allows for it, he’ll gladly give himself a few pats on the back. On top of that, he’s also a habitual flirt. It’s rare for him to leave a town without at least attempting to obtain a girl’s number. After all, you can’t get anywhere in his line of work if people don’t like you, so why not turn up the charm and woo the opposite sex along the way? Despite all his faults, he does has a heart. He won’t cheat the poor or the needing, and he’ll give respect when respect is deserved. He is polite, confident, and fairly charming in his own rogueish ways. He proudly carries himself with a certain level of class. He may cheat you out of your money, but he’ll never be a dick about it. He lives by the adage “A fool is soon parted with his money”. So if you’re not a fool, you won’t have any problems. He abhors needless violence. He may be a thief, but he’s not a thug. You’ll never see him strongarm or harm someone over money, because he finds it barbaric and classless. He’s also fairly cool-headed, often facing difficult situations without losing much composure. While he may not be a very trustworthy individual, he still highly respects the themes of loyalty. He will never hurt or steal from someone he considers a friend, and he’ll typically be the first to action if one calls for his aid. Even in a world built around lies, he’s still the type to put all his trust in the people he holds dear. But God help you if you betray that trust.[/tab][/tabs][/tabsection] |
