Hibiki stands at a very modest 5'4" and only weighs about 120lbs, giving him a much younger and childish build compared to his age being in his late teens. Despite once being a sort of generically cute kid Hibiki's grown into his pretty boy looks much better than most other bishounen do and, on him, the exceedingly abnormal levels of prettiness match up with his build and fair complexion. He doesn't look unnaturally feminine, he merely has less pronounced masculine features that lend themselves better to being called beautiful and less much to masculine handsomeness; though that isn't to say one couldn't apply both terms to his appearance. Hibiki's hair turned white when he was only four and thus, his hair is a soft, serene snow-white color totally devoid of hue and shade yet looking like the first fresh down of the winter. His hair is soft and bouncy yet stark and pure white with a light reflecting sheen. He has pure blue eyes, bluer than the blue ocean, with pupils that are an odd shape due to a birth defect giving him an almost eerie and supernatural gaze to some, and a mysteriously romantic one to others.

Hibiki tends to change what he wears often and he does not usually stick to any one particular style, though, he does have sets of attire he wears more often than the others do. His most common attire is actually one that comes off as both whimsical at first, and serves to bring together his odd eyes and white hair into a total package that gives him a more unified theme. This attire consists of faded tan khaki pants that are just long enough to reach just above his ankles before stopping. The pants have numerous pockets and hang offs. With them he wears black, comfortable, laceless shoes that are likely sketchers brand. On his torso he wears a tight long sleeve shirt, which is charcoal black, and made of a soft shirt material. It has two deep sky blue marks , similar in shape to the marks on Latias and Latios, on the front that are symmetrical with each other on either side of a zipper. The zipper runs up the middle of the shirt from the bottom to the top of the collar, which is turtle neck style. Over this he wears a cream colored hooded robe/jacket/coat thing that is very Asian in design and goes down to his hips. It also has overly long sleeves that travel at least a foot and half past his hands. The ends of the sleeves have black lines on them making them look like fox paws and, indeed, the hood itself has fox like ear extensions on it. The hood has a small wooden ring in it, at the very center of the opening, attached to a small triangle extension. The jacket has deep sky blue markings all over it that makes one think of Okami when they see it.

Obviously he can't be wearing that all the time so he does have something he also tends to wear. This secondary common set of attire consists of black slacks, with the same shoes as before, with the addition of a white belt with a silver buckle. On his torso he wears a black, sleeveless, under shirt with a medium blue, short sleeved button collared shirt over it. Around his neck he wears a silver guitar pick on a silver chain. On his hands he wears fingerless black gloves with the deep sky blue "Latios/Latias" marks on the top of them. Noticeably this attire is usually busted out for Pokémon contests that he participates in as an actual entrant and not when he is on stage singing.

Hibiki has taken care of his skin and so its blemish free and unmarred though he does have a birthmark on his left shoulder blade. In his opinion this birthmark is an odd, indescribable shape that doesn't really look like anything at all. He also refuses to get any tattoos because in his own words, "My body is a temple like hell am I injecting ink into it!" He doesn't really wear accessories outside of the guitar pick mentioned before. Hibiki stores his pokeballs on a side clip storage attachment that arranges the balls in a tight cluster, a similar shape to the arrangement on the healing machines at a Pokémon center.[/tab]

[tab=Biography] Hibiki wasn’t always the person he is nowadays. He wasn’t always named Hibiki ether. Originally he went by his birth name, Hiei, but circumstances for the better, as of late, have caused him to adopt a new name that holds a lot of meaning to him. His new name, together with his new surname, Otonashi, means “repeating without sound” which he uses to signify that he’s put the “sounds” of his past behind him. To understand why exactly he’d want to do something like that one has to look at how he came to this point.

Hibiki, as mentioned, was born Edo Hiei to a young mother and her older boyfriend, much much older. In fact, many thought Hiei’s mother, Mizore, could pass for being her boyfriend’s daughter. They had no idea how sick and horrifyingly close to the mark they were. Mizore was in fact her boyfriend’s daughter. The twisted relationship of abuse and incest is what caused the fifteen year old Mizore to become pregnant with Hiei. From this birth came a death however due to complications. Mizore died when Hiei came into the world and the first thing his unhappy father saw were his son’s eyes. Right away he could see them, those eyes that would give Hiei hell. Hiei was born with eyes brighter and bluer than you could ever imagine but, because of a genetic quirk, his pupils were of an odd shape; they were slitted like a cat or even a demonic creature’s eyes.

Never the less, for the first two years of his life Hiei was raised by his father until grief overcame the man and he left Hiei with his grandmother Shiori. The father could no longer look at the son without anger and grief overcoming him. So Hiei’s grandmother raised him from then on as best as she could. There were complications, obviously, due to Hiei’s… special circumstances. His eyes always caused problems and it only worsened for the boy when his hair went prematurely white when he was only four years old. The people of his small town thought he was evil and his grandmother became shunned. Though these factors paled in comparison to what would happen when he started going to school.

Hiei was bullied near constantly, day in and day out, but he took it with stride, at first anyway. Kids have a tendency to be cruel, vicious, evil creatures when they are faced with someone different from them. When word finally got out about Hiei’s special parentage the bullying became much more dangerous. He was nearly drowned twice by bullies and the beatings got much more brutal. He had to be hospitalized twice in one month because of bullying. It was around then he began to finally recede into his shell. He started to periodically miss school, for one reason or another, and he stopped eating more than one or two things a day.

However this changed when he happened to meet a young girl his age, one that wasn't afraid of him. They became fast friends of course. However life can be even crueler than kids can. Life has a sadistic way of kicking you down just when you were getting better. The friend that he made caused the bullying to escalate to level that was nothing but purely and utterly terrifying. The head bully had told his father about the girl and, in a moment of pure poor parenting, the father and the bully did something Hiei would never forget. This vulgar act is what finally caused him to hate his fellow human beings with all his heart and soul. They kidnapped the girl, and Hiei and subjected them to something truly horrific. Even though they were eventually rescued the damage had been done. The next day the girl hung herself on the tree outside her home. Distraught, damaged, and disgusted Hiei walked to the cliffs near his town and tossed himself off a month later.

Fate however decided to throw the boy one last curveball. The world around him changed that day due to a phenomenon researchers in Alternia still aren't clear on. The legendary Pokémon gathered in Hiei’s region, all of them, and all hell broke loose causing its destruction. Very few people survived, and those that did only because they were rescued by a mysterious group of psychic pokemon. Hiei himself was saved from his suicide by a Gardevoir. They transported the trainers to the nearby Alternia region. Hiei clung to the gardevoir with his life but she couldn't stay with him. Luckily Hiei befriended a ralts shortly after and the two became an inseparable pair. Hiei loved Freyja. He didn’t know exactly how much he would come to treasure and adore her, but in time, he would learn just how deep his affection ran.

Still reeling from the emotional shock of losing everyone, and everything, he knew he latched on to the nearest pretty female the thirteen year old could. Hindsight should have told him she wouldn’t stay with him and, indeed, she left him alone again. However he managed to make some friends and fellow survivors of the destruction of his home region. Sadly though, in his emotionally unstable state, he couldn’t bear to stay with them and went off on his own. They didn’t give up and after months of traveling they were reunited as a group though Hiei was still very much a troubled young boy. It was now, however, he came to truly rely on Freyja as his emotional crutch. He couldn’t function without her at his side and, at night, he needed her to cuddle up next to him or he couldn’t sleep. He truly needed her presence. He also knew that the way things were going he’d end up crossing a line that was taboo. He didn’t care at the time, to hell what people thought of him. People were cruel; people were evil, only Pokémon could be truly trusted in his mind. However an event would come to pass that would cause him to reevaluate his life.

Hiei was traveling with his small three person group when they came upon some Pokémon poachers who were going after some rare Pokémon eggs. They tried to drive them off but, in the ensuing chaos, Hiei was shot protecting the eggs. He woke up several weeks later to his Pokémon crying over him on his hospital bed. He also realized just how much he was truly hurting them as he was now. In an act that was both painful and beautiful, in that it showed the depth for how much he truly cared for them, Hiei let his Pokémon go. He gave them to new trainers so that they could live lives free of someone as damaged as he was. Two of his Pokémon were the hardest to let go of; one was Tsubaki, the cottonee, who returned to his side even after going to another trainer before she finally found a peaceful and good home. The other was Freyja, sweet and dear Freyja, whom Hiei shared many painful but happy memories with. He knew deep down that the empathic bond between them was strong enough she’d never be able to forget him. He shared one last moment with her when no one was looking and gave her his first kiss and told her exactly how much she meant to him, which, is why he had to let her go for now. Even this wasn’t enough, so he added the stipulation she find someone who was in just as much pain as he was and help heal their soul. If she could do that he would come back for her someday. It was enough to make her happy and enough to get her to leave him to sort out his issues.

During the tail end of his hospital stay he began to seek out counseling for his mental and emotional problems. It didn’t take him very long to meet Dr. Otonashi , the perfect woman to help Hiei fix the broken and beaten up parts of his tormented psyche and soul. It would be a long process to heal the damage but, even he himself, was confident in time he could find a way to mend his psychological wounds. Dr. Otonashi helped immensely of course, being a kind and sweet soul which was something Hiei was unaccustomed to. His whole life he had suffered through people treating him like crap outside of his pokemon, his grandmother, and his dead first friend. So her soft and maternal caring for him helped greatly improve the boy. The improvement was slow of course. You don’t just magic away years of torment and abuse in a few months but, gradually, Hiei began to improve. He also sort of began to develop a bit of a crush on Dr. Otonashi. It was silly, and he eventually dismissed it as his need to attach himself emotionally to something, but it was something that did spur him onwards to get better. In the end the good doctor ended up giving him a place to stay once his hospital stay was over; though he continued to have sessions there at the hospital in Peddleton.

Hiei was fourteen now and still in therapy. He had gotten quite close to Dr. Megumi Otonashi though, into his life, came another and more fragile female presence; a roselia who happened to sneak into the hospital during one of his day sessions. It was a chance meeting that gave Hiei his first new pokemon. He was using his ten minute session break to get a drink of water when he happened to see the Pokémon hiding out of the corner of his eye. Hiei, being the avid Pokémon lover he was, instantly approached and befriended the shy pokemon. Of course he had to chase her through the whole hospital and cause a bit of a disturbance at first. The therapy after that took a different turn as Hiei, who had his name legally changed to Hibiki, started to show drastic improvement and his new Pokémon friend, Ayame, slowly came out of her shy shell thanks to Hibiki. A year later Megumi adopted Hibiki on his sixteenth birthday finally giving him a loving and caring mother. Best birthday gift ever.

It was a few short months after that when something shocking and exciting happened to Hibiki. He happened to get noticed by a man who was getting his arm put in a cast. The man ran a small talent agency for up and coming local talent. Hibiki had taken to singing, you see, since it made Ayame happy and, as it turns out, he had a damn good singing voice. So good that the man actually told him upfront he’d sponsor the young man if he sang at a local Pokémon contest; one they’d yet to get a singer for. Hibiki accepted and three months later in front of hundreds of Alternians Hibiki let his voice ring out and echo forever in the hearts of those who heard him that day.

The next day he awoke to the local channel talking about him and a mailbox absolutely stuffed with love letters and praise from people who said they wanted to hear him again. It was a shock to the young man to say the least. It was then that Hibiki decided that was what he’d do. He’d sing for Alternia and use his voice to do what he always wanted to do, bring people and Pokémon closer together. To that end he decided he’d once again travel Alternia, only this time he wouldn’t just be a trainer, no he’d also visit contest halls and compete in contests. He’d also sing and donate all the money he got from that to Pokémon centers and other institutions which brought people and Pokémon closer together. He wouldn’t keep a single cent of the money he made from singing. Finally, after a long, hard road he finally found happiness.

And the best part is his story is far from over.[/tab]

[tab=Personality]Hibiki is a far cry from how he used to be nowadays. What was once a cynical and cold person deep down, only putting on a façade of being nice, is now one of the most insanely nice guys you could ever meet. Hibiki is often described having a very gentle and serene air about him and, with his very polite and graceful manner of speaking; it sure comes off that way. Gone is the dark and emotionally unstable troubled youth and in his stead stands a young gentleman whose moves and manners are very soft and delicate. Well when he isn’t being whimsical at least since Hibiki has a bit of a knack for whimsy. In these instances the graceful young man can be liken to a fox cub playing with a ball of string. Though, even during these moments, he remains very kind and sweet. It is amazing what therapy can do for a troubled lad.

Hibiki is still an avid Pokémon lover and his interactions with even wild Pokémon show that four years of development and fixing his problems has only strengthened the bond he feels towards all pokemon, wild, his own, or even those belonging to other people. If the option exists he will always try to befriend a Pokémon first instead of resorting to a battle. If the Pokémon still wishes to battle however, even after befriending them, he will always indulge their wish. He is very good about placing the needs and wants of the Pokémon before his own. Hibiki’s sincerest wish is bring people and Pokémon closer together and, while he doesn’t really like battling, he understands now that it is something Pokémon enjoy doing if it’s done at their trainer’s side so he no longer admonishes it.

He still holds a special place in his heart for his first friend he made in the Alternia region, Freyja, and it’s likely he will never forget her and that deep down he does wish to someday be reunited with her. However, it is also true that he shares a growing bond with his roselia whom he cares about just as much. It seems like he just has the kind of personality that draws those of the fairer sex to him and he can’t help but smile and be cheerful around them.[/tab][/tabs][/tabsection]
