[tab-class=profile-info][tabsection][tabs] [tab=Appearance] Thorn has always been considered a tall and lanky fellow. His official height is 6' 2'', and he weighs 170 lbs. He isn't very muscular, but his build hides a natural strength that one wouldn't expect. Not all strength comes from brute force. Thorn has built his leg muscles by sticking to a regular running regiment. Speed and evasion have always come more naturally to him. His hair is short and jet black, strands occasionally falling over his eyes. Another accessory he sported was a silver pocket watch, which he considered incredibly classy and in theme with the rest of his outfits. His skin is flawless. At home, he used multiple skin creams and products to keep himself looking good. Thorn could never be bothered to deal with disgusting blemishes or pimples. They would only make him look weaker, and that was something Thorn could never allow. He typically sports a bright neon yellow shirts, with black pants, shoes, and jackets. He also wears a black fedora, which is one of his most prized possessions. His clothes are always made from the finest material, and Thorn takes great care to make sure they are regularly cleaned and pressed. His vanity is one of his weaknesses. Thorn has always felt that he needed to look good to keep up the masquerade he presents to the world. The only other thing that Thorn truly values about his appearance is his smile. Thorn's teeth are perfect and are the product of many a dollar spent in careful orthodontic correction. To have a smile less than perfect would be unacceptable to him. The smile he sports is as cold as the gaze from his powder blue eyes. [/tab] [tab=Biography]Remy Dupris was born in Saffron City. However, Remy never had much of a use for the name that was instilled upon him by his guardians, and after seeing the beautiful, yet dangerous, rose bushes growing outside his room, he took to calling himself Thorn. His birth parents were a mystery to him. His mother died on delivery after stumbling into the hospital without any form of ID, and his father never made himself known. This fact does not bother Thorn much, and he has as little care for the identity and life of his father as the deadbeat surely has for him. Thorn grew up in an orphanage, and began learning the ways of the world quickly. The heads of the orphanage were not exactly the most caring individuals ever, and unfortunately for the children they often played favorites. Thorn was an expert at grooming himself to create a warm and endearing physical appearance, as well as putting on an empty and meaningless smile to charm the fools into making him one of their favorites. However, this made him unpopular amongst his fellow orphans, and often the subject of torment and ridicule. It was at this young age that Thorn realized just how worthless and weak other living organisms truly were. If they didn't care about him, then why should he give a Rattata's ass about them? He only had average grades throughout his schooling, mostly because classes to him were unimportant. All of the other children and teenagers around him were focused on battling Pokémon and becoming champions amongst the trainers, but not Thorn. To him, the only Pokémon of worth were those of legends. Every other Pokémon would eventually be bested, and was unworthy of his attention. He used his looks and smile to get through every obstacle that ever presented itself, and eventually settled on a desk job at Silph Corporation. He didn't really care about the job either, just seeing it as a means to an end until he found something worthy of his talents. One day he was sitting under a tree just east of Saffron City, wasting away the lunch hours on the weekend when he saw something that actually caused him amazement. Thorn watched with moderate interest as a Raticate was attacking much smaller Archen . At first, Thorn thought the Archen was going to get what it deserved for its weakness, but all of a sudden, the rock Pokémon stupefied him by overcoming the odds. It may have been out of sheer panic, but the Archen solidly flapped around the Raticate’s eyes. Confused, the Raticate slammed headfirst into a tree trunk, stunned itself, landed in a nearby river, and began floating away. Rather than make sure the Raticate didn't drown, Thorn turned his back on it and approached the Archen. The little bird was frightened by the look of such a tall, and menacingly cold being in front of him. Thorn remembered the fate of the Raticate and stayed moderately far from it, bending over and offering it part of his sandwich. The Archen cocked its head and eventually approached, pecking at the food given to it. Thorn had seen something in the Archen that mirrored his own life. The Archen had no care for the weak either, and would stop at nothing to survive in this harsh world. Thorn offered out his hand and said "Come with me." Over the next few weeks, the two became close, and decided that Saffron with its miserable citizens were no longer a place they desired to live. After purchasing a Poké Ball for Archen, he held it outright to his new partner in crime. The Archen hit the button in the middle and was sucked inside. He named the Archen Phoenix, and together they traveled towards Vermillion to catch a boat to a new life. The cesspool where Thorn began his new adventure along with Phoenix was labeled Kijutsu. Thorn wasted no time trying to acquaint himself with the people he encountered there: they were all meaningless pawns in a giant chess game of life dominated by kings such as himself. Within no time at all, Thorn had dismantled a local crime lord and his sadistic son simply for the son being rude to him. He also became an ‘ally’ of some low-level gangsters who thought themselves the next Team Rocket: the Desert Ekans gang. While Thorn had no desire to associate himself with the wannabes, Thorn knew that even a dull tool could be used once in a while. He began networking himself here and there, all the while despising the plethora of weak trainers around him who all wanted to grow up and be the hero. Thorn also began to acquire more Pokémon that piqued his interest. He knew that by gathering such a collection of powerhouses, no one would be able to stop him. It was in fact this desire for more power and notoriety that would lead him to the doors of Darkfire. Here he met the unstable Edgar Dolarhyde, whose psychopathy actually fit well with Thorn's antisocial tendencies. While the two butted head in some cosmically macabre comical way, they had actually begun to work well together. They had entered Darkfire together. Thorn remembered the philosophy of the dull tool and put up with him until they actually started to work relatively well with each other. The future looked grim indeed for all those that would stand in the way of Remy Dupris…[/tab] [tab=Personality]As his gaze and smile implicate, Thorn is as cold as ice. He is rarely what one would consider happy. Instead, the typical aura you'd find around him would be one of boredom. His tone of voice never really raises above a quiet, polite tone. His words and attitude are extremely sarcastic, mostly because of how little he values the lives and personalities of other people. He views most of the people he meets as inferior, and will not hide his disrespect or impatience with them. However, do not let the quiet and reserved nature fool you. Thorn is one of the most driven individuals that he knows. When he sees something he wants, nothing will stop him from acquiring it. The key is getting him to be interested in what you are. If someone's goals and desires match with Thorn's, then he is an invaluable partner. However, if one's views are contrary to his, then one would have the worst enemy one could imagine.[/tab][/tabs][/tabsection] Edited by Sen, Sep 26 2014, 01:46 PM.
