Profile [parent-class=active]Journey Computer Shimo City - Outside the Pokémon Center Morning Snowing Of all the places you could have ventured to within Alternia, the city of eternal snow was the place you chose? This is quite easily the coldest place in the entire region, and yet here you are standing outside the Pokémon Center with your team of fighting Pokémon in tow - including your newly caught Riolu, I may add. I suppose your father's old aviator jacket may be of some use around here but at the same time it's not as though you're wearing that much underneath. I suppose you have a plan in mind given you're around here, but you should probably get out of the cold as soon as possible before you catch pneumonia. I suppose if you don't have that in mind, you could explore the city? I mean, there is quite a lot to look around within this city - most of it only available with Shimo and nowhere else. In the centre of this snow covered city lies a rather sleek ice rink, of which you are able to see many wrapped up young people skating around it, some looking rather shaky as they attempted to gain their bearings. To the north, you noticed a plethora of cable cars travelling up and down the side of the gargantuan Byaku Mountain, with many sliding down the ski slopes of the Alpine courses. Although, you could also a few people wearing skis, attempting to scale the mountain next to the most treacherous route down the mountain. However, what really caught your eye was the smooth icy palace sat in the eastern reaches of the city - it almost looked like it had been naturally crafted from the land itself. Of course, as you glanced across and began making your way towards the building, you felt a slight nudge against your leg. Glancing down, it appeared to be a rather cute bear with an icicle slipping down from her nose - though of course, this little critter was now standing in your way. Any thoughts on how to deal with this little thing?

The Many Faces of Crosse
|
“It's official; we're completely lost.” “Scraggy scrag.” “Just in case you haven't noticed Sid: IT IS FREAKING SNOWING.” “Scraggy scraggy scrag.” “NO SID THIS IS NOT KIJUTSU.” “SCRAGGY SCRAG SCRAG.” “GIVE ME THE DAMN MAP.” Scout reached up to Sid who was sitting perched up on her shoulder and ripped the map so violently out of his hands that he was catapulted off of Scout's shoulder. The sound of Sid's wailing voice flew along with him until he landed face first into a mound of snow. Scout pursed her lips, looking up from the map and waiting for Sid to make some sort of movement -just to be sure that he was alright. She saw his chest heave as he exhaled deeply. Satisfied, Scout pulled her aviator jacket tighter around her body and looked down to the map that was folded up in her hand. Meanwhile, Sid finally realized the situation that he was in. With his head submerged in the snow, he was surrounded by complete darkness, and the snow around his face was so cold it felt like as if it was burning a hole through his skin. Slightly panicking now, Sid began to flail his legs in all sorts of different directions, trying to free himself. He tried to get a grip onto the snow with his tiny fingers, but the it kept slipping between his fingers like sand. Suddenly, Sid managed to pace his breathing down from a panicked hyperventilation to calm, focused deep breaths. He placed his hands flat down onto the snow as well as his feet to the point where he looked like a quadruped. He then began to try and pull his head out of the snow in a rhythmic fashion, loosening the snow that was packed around his skull with each attempt to break himself free. Scout, who had continued watching Sid from afar, rolled her eyes before looking down to the map in her hands. Scout pulled open the map in front of her. She curiously raised an eyebrow as she looked over the Alternian Map. Something was wrong. With the sudden realization, Scout looked up from the map and over towards Sid with a glare. Here eye twitched. Without breaking eye contact with the little lizard still comically struggling with freeing his head from the snow, Scout flipped the map around between her hands so that it was now right-side-up. Sid finally managed to pull his head out of the snow. Shivering, the little lizard vigorously shook his head from side to side to shake off the snow from his body, then turned his head to look for Scout. He caught her glare and was taken aback slightly, a disturbed look stretched across his face as he instinctively scuttled backwards in the snow. "YOU HAD ONE JOB." yelled Scout, throwing the map up in the air. The map floated down towards the ground, eventually landing before Sid's feet. Cautiously, the little lizard approached, and suddenly realized his mistake. Sid made what sounded like an awkward giggle as he nervously rubbed the back of his neck, glancing down and away from Scout as his face flustered red from embarrassment. Tucking her hands into her pockets, Scout grumbled to herself before looking up and studying her surroundings. She appeared to standing in the center of some park square that was covered with snow up to her ankles. An annoyed look crossed her face as she pulled her right foot up out of the snow, only to feel it sink back down into the snow when she placed it back down on the ground. It felt like she was trenching through freezing mud. She sighed. Scout knew that she was going to have to trench through the snow if she wanted to get anywhere. So, she began moving forwards, her feet dragging along in the snow. When she was finally in front of her map she knelt down slightly, to where her knees were not touching the snow, to pick it up off the ground. Scout shook the map a few times to knock off any snow before she placed it into her pocket. She then turned her attention to Sid, who was looking up at her. Still annoyed, Scout reached down and grabbed his head with one hand as if she was trying to grab for a softball. Sid flailed around as Scout lifted him up and off of the ground by his head, until he was finally placed back up onto her shoulder. The two of them continued onward slowly, taking their time to look around at their surroundings. It wasn't long before it was more than obvious that they were somewhere in Shimo City. It was a small and quaint city. The buildings seemed to all be relatively small and had a candle-like glow coming from inside of them. Many of the fixtures, such as the streetlamps and signs, were made from old fashioned wrought iron. It was the most picturesque image of a winter wonderland. Towards the west down the road was the Pokémon Center. Scout went to move forward and up onto the sidewalk, but the snow was had a hold of her again. She tried to shake it loose, but to no avail. It was only when she looked down to manually free her foot that she noticed that it wasn't the snow that had her stuck; it was a little Cubchoo. "Dafuq?" said Scout as she looked down to the little bear. Instinctively, Scout reached down to one of the Poke Balls on her belt. She slowly unclipped it from her belt and brought the spherical mechanism to her side, watching the Cubchoo carefully to see if it appeared to be aggressive. The Poke Ball clicked and expanded into its normal size in Scout's hand. The young woman looked down to the metal ball in her hand and recognized it; she had chosen the Poke Ball of her Tyrogue, Lee. "He does need to get some more experiance," Scout murmured to herself. Sid turned his head to look at his trainer, putting his elbow on his propped up knee and resting his chin in his hand. The curious look on Scout's face dropped when she came to a sudden realization: "Except Lee doesn't know JACK SHIT when it comes to fighting type moves." Sid threw his hands up and shrugged his shoulders with a look of 'what can you do about it?' Scout turned her attention to her Scraggy on her shoulder. "There is something I can do about it, Sid." she said, reading his body language perfectly. Scout smiled as a sudden surge of determination began pumping through her body. "Sorry kiddo, I've got more important matters to attend to." she said as she moved away from the Cubchoo and back into the square. With a flick of the wrist, Scout threw her arm up in the air and tossed Lee's Poké Ball into the sky as far as it could go. The spherical mechanism burst open in a flash of red light, which crashed down onto the ground and began to take the form of Scout's Tyrogue. When the light broke, Lee's physical form replaced the silhouette of red light. Lee was knelt down on one knee, looking at the ground. His eyes opened and he looked up to Scout with a hardened look. Slowly he picked himself up and was on both feet, his little fists clenched tightly at his sides. A cold breeze slipped past him, but it didn't seem to phase Lee whatsoever. "Hope you don't mind the cold!" laughed Scout as she placed both of her hands on her hips. "This isn't going to be easy, Lee." she said, but with confidence still thick in her voice. "We're going to try and teach you an Egg Move. Once you get a physical fighting type move in your moveset, you'll thrive in this environment, and before you know it you'll be ready to evolve." Lee's eyes widened. Evolve? Yes, that was what he needed. The little Tyrogue looked down to his open hand, then slowly clenched it into a fist. He was weak as a Tyrouge; he knew that. Lee wanted nothing more than to become strong, but that was something he was never going to achieve as a Tyrogue. He had to evolve; he needed to evolve. His little fist was shaking as he continued to tighten his fist. Scout walked over to Lee and knelt down in the snow in front of him. She cupped her hands around his little fist and looked at him on eye level. "You'll get there Lee. I know you will." The Tyrogue looked up to his trainer and, reluctantly, nodded. Scout clapped her hands together. "Let's get this started!" Sid hopped off of Scout's shoulder and plopped down into the snow below. He shook his body and reached down for his skin like pants and pulled them up to his waist. He waddled around behind Scout towards the general direction of where the Cubchoo was last seen. The little lizard narrowed his brow and gave the little Cubchoo a rather ugly look, hoping that it would keep the small Pokémon at bay if it tried to interfere with Scout tutoring Lee. Meanwhile, Scout cracked her knuckles and shook out her wrists; she was going to be Lee's sparing partner. "Okie dokie Lee, let's try working on the Egg Move known as [attack=Mach Punch]. Its a relatively weak move when it comes to power, but it's quick; with this move you will always strike first. So far so good?" asked Scout to Lee, who nodded his head. "Now first things is first," Scout continued, "I want you to use the move Bulk Up that we learned before." Lee nodded again and took a few steps back. The small Tyrogue closed his eyes and began to focus on his strength; concentrating on his muscles. His gangly arms and legs seemed to grow thicker as the muscles in his body expanded. "Do you feel that?" asked Scout. "Do you feel that surge of energy that is flowing through your body when you use that move; the feeling of pure power? That is the fighting type energy that you were born with and we are going to harness it. Instead of allowing it to flood your entire system like you do when using Bulk Up, you're going to this time focus it into your fists." Scout leaned forwards and took each of Lee's fists into one of her hands. The Tyrogue opened his eyes and looked up to his trainer. "Now close your eyes and use Focus to increase your speed." Lee closed his eyes and did as instructed. Scout released Lee's hands and scooted backwards at little in the snow. "Those two things are what I want you to remember for this next part." she said as she brought her hands up to her chest as if she was going to defend herself. "Once you think you're ready, we're going to move onto the physical aspect of this move. Throw me a punch." Lee raised an eyebrow, curious and slightly bothered, and reluctantly pushed his fist towards Scout's general direction with little to no effort at all. Scout caught his fist in her hand. "You're going to start trying to throw me punches, while I try to either stop them by catching your fist or deflecting the attack with my arm. If I manage to catch you or stop you, Lee, you're not moving fast enough. Does that make sense?" Lee's eyes drifted off to the side, thinking over what Scout had said. He looked back to her and nodded, bringing up his fists as if he was ready to spar. "Remember," Scout said, holding her index finger up telling Lee to wait, "these do not necessarily have to be strong. They are fast and light punches; but that doesn't mean there is no power behind it." Scout brought her hands up to the front of her body, preparing to deflect all of Lee's attacks. "BRING IT." Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
|
Shimo City - Outside the Pokémon Center Morning Snowing Lee shivered in the cold, but listened to your instructions. It was quite the picturesque view: the fighting Pokémon and you staring each other down, intent on training with frosty breath spiraling towards the sky. It sounds like a Chuck Norris or Steven Seagal film, except here you don't get the luxury of a training montage. You'll have to do this on your own! The Tyrogue began channeling its energy with the move Bulk Up. The tiny veins on his arms began to pop as he forced energy into expanding his muscle mass. It was a good move to gather that fighting energy for him, since he didn't have any same type physical moves. He was not quite the warrior that the rest of his evolutionary line was, but you couldn't detract from his drive to success. Gathering as much ki as he could, he tried to gather it in his fists only rather than all the offensive and defensive muscles in his body. Clenching his tiny fist, he did what he thought was what you ordered and prepared to move onto the next part of the instruction. Lee started Focusing on his speed, trying to add a spring to his step. He began running back and forth as fast as he could, leaving behind tiny footprints in the snow. It was actually quite impressive to see him utilizing the combo to try and pull off a new tool for battle. However, you couldn't dwell on the fact for long. You had a determined fighting type Pokémon dashing right at you! Lee certainly didn't want to hurt you, but knew the value of sparring in training. He turned and started dashing towards you, his arm stretched back, his eyes aiming at your outstretched hand, and.... He tripped. He was so focused on speed, accuracy, and the perfect amount of power that his little brain lost track of where he was going, and he stumbled forward over his own feet. However, Lee's momentum continued carrying him forward and his punch ended up landing on your left knee. The excitement behind the training quickly dissipated into pure pain. Ouch, that had to hurt! However, it was a good first attempt. Perhaps trying to master all aspects of the move was just too much to handle initially. Why don't you try focusing on a specific topic? Or you could try to do them all again and he might have better success! How should I know? I'm just a disembodied voice after all. Either way, keep at it, trainer! ~ [pokemon=tyrogue] Mach Punch 19% ~ |

The Many Faces of Crosse

"GOD ****ING DAMN IT." Scout collapsed into the snow, holding her knee up against her chest and began rolling around back and forth in the snow as all sorts foul language spilled from her mouth. She had her eyes snapped shut tightly and a grimaced look contorting across her face. Eventually Scout stopped rolling around hysterically and began to rock herself back and forth, still holding her injured knee up against her body. "Moooother fuuuuucker~!" she sung before dropping her knee and sprawling out on her back against the snow. "UGH." she groaned as she tried to lift up all of her apendages off of the ground at the same time, then flopped them back onto the ground, causing a flurry of snow to jump up and glitter in the sunlight. She heard the soft crunching of snow as a pair of small feet waddled over to her. Scout tilted her head backwards and rolled her eyes up, only to see Sid standing on the ground looking down at her. The Scraggy placed his hands on his hips and smirked down at his trainer, as if he was mocking her inability to take a hit. "DON'T BE A DICK, SID." Scout barked, throwing an arm back over her head and thrust it into Sid's face. The force of Scout's hand into Sid's face caused the Scraggy to stumble backwards and fall flat on his back, sprawled out in the snow just like his trainer. "Scraggy." he groaned. Throwing her arms up into the air first, Scout arched her back and forced herself to sit upright in the snow. Standing at her feet was Lee. "I think," Scout said as she pointed down to her Pokemon, "I think we've got the power thing down." Lee furrowed his eyebrows and looked down to the ground, crossing his arms across his chest. He seemed disappointed. Scout frowned. Knowing Lee, he was disappointing in himself. "Hey," she said as she pushed herself forwards so that she was now kneeling in front of Lee, "don't be like that." Lee turned his head away, avoiding his trainer's gaze. A distressed look crossed Scout's face. Without giving it a second thought, she threw herself forwards and embraced Lee in a tight hug. The Tyrogue struggled against his trainer's embrace, bothered by the physical affection that made him feel weak inside. "You're not weak." Scout said while she held him close, as if she had read his mind. Lee suddenly stopped resisting his trainers embrace and turned to her, only to bury his face in her chest. "You're the strongest Tyrogue I know." she said as she placed a hand on top of his spiked head. In the meantime, Sid had managed to pick himself up and waddled over to Scout and Lee. He tilted his head to the side as he watched Lee finally give in and accept Scout's embrace. The little Scraggy then shook his head and threw his arms up in the air. "SCRAGGY SCRAG." he objected, then hurled himself into the hug. "DAMN IT SID I'M TRYING TO HAVE A MOMENT HERE." Scout yelled at her Scraggy. Sid had ducked beneath Scout's arms and had wiggled up in the small gap between Scout and Lee, popping up between them and making himself a part of the hug. Scout returned her attention to Lee, who she could tell by the look on his face that he wasn't too comfortable with being in physical contact with Sid. "Besides, you can't be any worse than Sid here." Scout laughed. Offended, Sid's face dropped into an infuriated frown, and he began to push at Scout's face as if to force her away from him. Lee reluctantly laughed at the sight. Scout, with her face being mushed by Sid's hands forcing her away, smiled down to her Tyrogue. "How about we try again?" she asked, standing up and causing Sid to tumble off of her and fall face first down into the snow. The look on Lee's face became more serious. He took a second to think, exhaled, then nodded up to Scout with a look of determination. After having kicked Sid out of the way, Scout and Lee continued their tutoring session. "Before we go through that train wreck again, I need help with something." Scout reached down into her pockets and pulled out the remaining three Poke Balls that she had on her person. "Come on out everyone!" she yelled as she three the three Poke Balls up into the air. The spherical mechanisms broke open in a burst of red light that rained down and onto the ground, forming three small silhouettes before the young trainer. Scout caught the falling three Poke Balls in her hands as the red light broke, revealing her other three Pokemon: her Machop, Medidite, and Riolu. "ALRIGHT EVERYONE!" Scout shouted, slamming a closed fist into her open hand. "We need to clear a patch of snow and get down to solid ground. This mother ****ing snow is ****ing Lee's tutoring up!" All of Scout's Pokemon, including Sid and Lee, nodded. Together, the group began to push and kick away at the snow to make a circular clearing for Lee. Brushing her hands off , Scout grinned as she admired her Pokemon's work. Together, Scout and Lee made their way over to the clearing. Scout's other Pokémon plopped down in the mound of snow made from creating the clearing that was on the sidelines. Scout knelt down before Lee again, looking him over first before speaking. She noticed his feet. Scout placed her hands on each of Lee's feet and moved them around so that they were at more of a diagonal angle and moved them slightly further apart. "You need to prevent your feet from being too squared," said Scout. "That's probably what caused you to trip over yourself before." Scout's eyes then wandered up to Lee's hands. She reached for the Pokemon's small, clenched fists, and manipulated them so that he had his guard up. "Alright," Scout said to herself before returning her focus to Lee. "I want you to start throwing punches at me like we talked about before. But this time, instead of focusing on the speed and power you're putting behind them, focus on how your feet are moving. The more fluid your footwork is, the faster you will be naturally." Lee narrowed his eyes and nodded up to Scout. "Once you start to become comfortable with how your feet are moving; when you feel the rhythm at which you move in order to lunge and throw a punch, you can then focus on applying more speed to your attacks." Shimo City - Outside the Pokémon Center Morning Snowing Ah! Dampening the snow around him so he could get a better foothold on the surrounding area. Clever girl! Your fighting team kicked, stamped, and pushed the ground trying to make the space open and ready for Lee's next attempt. The Tyrogue, although still embarrassed about punching your knee, experimentally hopped back and forth to test his footing. Indeed, it was much better than when it was covered in the slippery snow. Fortunately, it was only lightly snowing so your Pokémon's hard work in making a ring and path was not for naught. Lee exhaled again. He cracked his knuckles and began to lightly jog. While maneuvering he began to focus on his speed. His mental energy flowed to the soles of his feet as the slapped down against the ground. The pit pat of the light jog became quicker and quicker as he picked up the pace. The Focus on his speed paid off in spades. He was dashing back and forth with only a small misstep here and there. However, Lee was able to keep much better control this time around. He was feeling so confident that he began to move towards the next phase of the tutor. In your boxing stance, perhaps protecting your knee a little bit, you waited and prepared for the oncoming blow. Lee came at you, but was so concerned about not tripping and potentially blowing out your ACL that he didn't remember to get the full swing of the blow behind him. The punch was all follow-through, no wind back. While the move you were trying to tutor was by no means a Cross Chop, it was still meant to be a stinger. This blow lacked the real...oomph to do the damage that the move intended. Still, it collided with your hand so it was an improvement. You have the power and the speed mastered separately, but now it was time to bring them together. Good job, trainer, but can you take it to the next level? ~ [pokemon=tyrogue] Mach Punch 44% ~ |

Scout easily caught Lee's fist in her hand. He was getting the bits and pieces right, Scout could tell that much, but it seemed he was having difficulties with putting the whole thing together. There was something else too, but she couldn't exactly put her finger on it. Just then, Lee looked up to Scout and caught her eye. That was when the young woman realized that her Pokemon, out of fear of accidentally harming her, was holding himself back in his attempts. Lee was trying to look serious, but Scout could see the uneasiness reflecting back at her in his eyes. She knew she had to get him comfortable with attacking if they wanted to get anywhere further with their tutoring session. Nodding to herself, Scout smirked; she had an idea. Scout turned her head over to see her other Pokémon who were still lounging the mound of snow. "Clay!" she called out to her Machop, who sat up in the Snow and looked over to his trainer, tilting his head to the side. "I require your assistance!" The Machop narrowed his eyes and nodded, jumping up from the mound of snow and then proceeded to run over to Scout's side. The humanoid Pokémon slowed down into a walk as he got closer to Scout, stopping just a few feet in front of her. The Pokémon clenched his fists at his sides and looked up at his trainer, ready to take orders. Scout held up a finger to Clay, signaling that she needed a moment. With that, she turned back around to Lee and knelt down on one knee in front of him again. "You can't hold back." she said as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "I know that you'll be constantly worried if you try to spar with me; you'll keep holding yourself back. So Clay here is going to help us out, alright?" she said, gesturing with a thumb over her shoulder to the Machop standing behind her. Scout looked over her shoulder to Clay and waved him to come over. "Alright Clay, I need you to take over for me so Lee doesn't hold back." she said to her Machop, smiling down at him. She reached for Clay's hands and lifted them up so that they were above his chest. "All I need you to do is try your best to either deflect or catch Lee's punches. Sound easy enough?" Clay nodded up to Scout as she released his hands. The Pokémon slammed one closed fist into an open hand and smiled down to Lee. "Chop machop!" said Clay down to Lee, excited to be a part of Lee's tutoring experience. Lee looked up to Clay. Any sign of worry in Lee's face suddenly transformed into a look of determination. The small Tyrogue nodded up to the much larger Machop. Lee respected Clay more than anyone else on Scout's team; he revered the creatures strength and nobility. To be more like Clay was the one thing that Lee wanted more than anything, maybe even more than his evolution into a Hitmonlee. "Lets get started!" Scout shouted, jumping up into the air. Lee jumped backwards a few feet, gaining some distance between himself and his new opponent. Clay looked down to his large hands and began to crack his knuckles to prepare himself. Scout ran around from behind Clay and circled around to Lee. She stood behind her Pokémon as if they were about to enter a real battle. "First things first Lee!" she said, throwing a fist up in the air above her head. "Let's try this from the beginning: start by [attack=Focus]ing on your Speed. Once you've start running, I want you to pull your your arm up and back so that your elbow is level with your shoulder and it is positioned behind you. As you're running, immediately initiate [attack=Bulk Up] to increase your strength and to make the fighting type power flood through your body. Good so far?" Lee looked over his shoulder at Scout and nodded. He returned his focus to Clay and pulled his arm back as Scout had commanded, attempting the position before the real deal. Scout grasped her chin in her hand, thinking if there was anything else she could cover before she let Lee go. "Now Lee, once you're a foot or two in front of Clay, you need to to apply your speed boost to your arm. As your running, observe how fast you are moving. You'll need to apply at least that amount of speed or greater to the movement of your arm as you forcefully extend it outwards." said Scout as she placed a hand on her hip. "As you release your elbow to prepare your punch, that's when you need to focus as much strength into your fist as you can summon." Lee was opening and closing his fist repeatedly in front of him. He looked over his shoulder with narrowed eyes and nodded up to his trainer. Scout laughed and clenched her own fists in excitement. "Alright Lee! Use [attack=Mach Punch]!" she shouted, pointing her index finger out towards Clay. [Using 10TP for +5% Bonus to Move Tutoring] Edited by Scout, Oct 19 2014, 08:50 PM.

Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
|
Shimo City - Outside the Pokémon Center Late Morning Snowing Ah! A clever plan, to be sure, trainer. By removing yourself from the equation for now, your little Lee wouldn't have to worry about causing you any pain. Soon you'd have to get it through his skull that as a trainer of fighting type Pokémon, you were going to be taking an active role rather then just cheering from the sideline. However, it was best to do one thing at a time. After all, you wouldn't want to cause your little Tyrogue's head to explode from an overload of information, right? Best to stick with the Mach Punch for now. Seeing Clay getting ready to take the hit instead of you wiped any reserved guilt he had from blasting you in the knee. Lee was filled with determination and a competitive spirit. He listened to your guidance and prepared for his latest attempt at the Mach Punch. Lee began Focusing to bring himself up to speed, which you could notice was much quicker than the previous attempts. Once he got his velocity to an adequate level, he began to bring back his arm and get it into position. Once his arm was level and ready for some serious follow-through, Lee pumped himself up with Bulk Up. The muscles, arteries, and veins began to expand ever so slightly as he focused his Fighting-type energy into his arm. Now it was the moment of truth. Lee kept his attention focused on Clay and threw a punch right at the Machop. Clay moved his fist out of the way and blocked the hit. It seemed like a great attempt!... except for one thing. Clay had managed to block it a little too easily. A clever observer could see that Lee had successfully mastered all of the individual aspects of the move: the power, the speed, the balance, the accuracy. However something was missing. Machop were not known for their mental prowess, but Clay had been able to easily follow the step-by-step approach of Lee and block the attack. It was just unfortunately too predictable. The absent key to the whole situation was fluidity and unpredictability. The attempt was just too disjointed, so rather than a master fighter Lee ended up looking more like a marionette. There had to be a way to get the move to occur in one motion so that the foe wouldn't be able to see it coming. However, I'm sure you'd be able to come up with something, trainer. I have faith in you. Still, progress is progress. And is it me... or did Lee seemingly make a little extra progress? I'll leave that question to the philosophers. ~ [pokemon=tyrogue] Mach Punch 72% learned! ~ |

"You've almost got it!" shouted Scout happily, running around from behind her Tyrogue to the front of him. She triumphantly clenched a fist before her and smiled down to her Pokemon. "There's only one last thing we need to work on: putting all of those steps together into one fluid motion." She said as she slammed her closed fist in her other opened palm. Titling her head slightly, Scout smiled once more before kneeling down into the snow on one knee. "Did you feel it?" she asked Lee, placing a hand on his shoulder. The Pokémon tilted his head to the side, unsure of what his trainer was asking. "Think back to how your body felt just now." Scout said, pulling her hand away from her Tyrogue and placing it on her propped up knee. "I could see it in the way that you moved; it was if all of your movements were forced and mechanical. That's how Clay was able to deflect your attack." Scout looked up and waved over her other Pokemon. "Clay, get over here!" The Machop ran towards his trainer, sliding to a stop in the snow just inches away from her. Scout smiled and pat her Machop on the back, thanking him for helping her and Tyrogue with their tutoring. Looking back at her Tyrogue, Scout took in a deep breath. She wasn't entirely sure how to translate what her Pokémon would need to do in order to perfect his tutoring. "What you need to do," she said as she tried to think over the possible solutions, "is to make your movements more fluid and natural. The more natural they feel, the harder it will be for an enemy to lock onto your attack and deflect it." Out of the corner of her eye, Scout saw her Machop fold his arms across his chest. Almost instantly, a comical lightbulb lit up above Scouts head. "That's it!" she shouted, tumbling around in the snow so that she now had both of her hands on Clay's shoulders. Clay looked up to Scout with a blank stare, confused. "Clay!" said the trainer with excitement. "Can you explain to Tyrogue how you were able to pinpoint where his attack was going to land? Tell him how you were able to predict his movements! " The Machop raised an eyebrow up at his trainer curiously, then shrugged and nodded. "Machop! Machop chop chop machop. Machop chop chop?" said Clay down to Lee, his arms still folded across his chest. Unbeknownst to Scout, the older fighting type Pokémon was explaining that it was because of when Lee had pulled his arm back that he was able to predict where the attack would land. The Machop unfolded his arms and flattened his hand, making it hover just below the Tyrogue's height to his body. "Machop machop chop machop." explained Clay. The more experienced Pokémon explained to the younger Tyrogue that it was because of how early that he had pulled his arm back was what gave Clay enough time to predict where his attack would land. Clay was a few inches taller than Lee. The fact that Lee pulled his arm back so early gave Clay enough time to observe the differences in their height and pinpoint where exactly the shorter Pokemon's fist would land on his body. Smiling, Clay folded his arms over his chest once more. "Machop?" he asked. A look of enlightenment crossed Lee's face. The small Tyrogue narrowed his eyes and smiled, clenching his fist before him, before turning towards Scout. "Tyrogue!" he shouted up to Scout, signaling that he was ready to give it another go with a new mindset. Clapping her hands together with excitement, Scout stood up in the snow and jumped around behind Lee. Clay unfolded his arms and took a few steps back, spreading his legs to hold his balance, and raising his arms slightly to prepare for the next attack. Scout pointed out towards Clay and shouted her commands once more: "Lee lets try this again! use [attack=Mach Punch]!" she shouted, causing her Tyrogue to shoot forwards with a burst of adrenaline filled energy. Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
|
Shimo City - Outside the Pokémon Center Early Afternoon Snowing The arduous training had taken all morning. What seemed like such a simple little move was actually giving you more difficulty then you had first thought. Lee was not one to be discouraged though. He focused hard on the instructions that Clay was giving him. The argument seemed...logical? I don't speak Machop so I'm not actually one hundred percent sure what he said in all honesty. The reaction and head nodding was there though, so that's my cue to wrap up the rhetoric and move on to the tutor attempt. Lee breathed hard again, his breath a white spiral escaping his lungs and dissipating in the sky. Despite the cold temperature, beads of sweat rolled down his head with the intense concentration that he was trying to pull off. He really wanted to prove himself to Clay and, more importantly, you that he could master this move. Lee also really just wanted to prove it to himself that he could pull this off. It would be his first big step down the path of becoming a more powerful Fighting type. He crouched down and jumped into action. Dashing back and forth, the acceleration came far more naturally to him on this attempt. He bounced to the left...to the right...back to the left! Clay had trouble trying to keep up with him. The Tyrogue's energy flowed straight to his fist as he launched the punch forward. Clay had no idea where it was coming from. Clay didn't block the punch at all. Lee landed it square on the jaw. Clay fell backwards as Lee came back to his normal stance. Congratulations! [pokemon=tyrogue] learned Mach Punch! "Wow! That was pretty neat!" There was a trainer with two Pokémon at her side watching your training sessions. She applauded genuinely and remarked to you with a smile on her face. "Your squad certainly looks tough! Very impressive!" Well now you could take this chance to test what you've learned in an actual battle! You could also wander off and do your own thing. Choice is yours, trainer. What will you do? "YOU ****ING DID IT!" yelled Scout at the top of her lungs, jumping up into the air and causing a flurry of snow to explode off of the ground. The moment her feet hit the ground, the young woman rushed towards her Tyrogue, dropping down into the icy snow to slide into him before she pulled him down into the snow with her. She threw her arms around Lee and pulled him into her chest. Wrapping one arm around his neck, Scout closed a fist and began to give the little fighting Pokémon a noogie. "You really ****ing did it!" she said again, laughing now as her Tyrogue lifted his head up and smiled at Scout. The young woman looked up at Clay, who was rubbing his sore jaw in the palm of his hand. Smiling, Scout leaned forwards and grabbed Clay's hand, dragging him into the snow with Lee and herself. "Get over here you!" she yelled as her Machop fell into the snow. Clay pushed himself up out of the snow so that he was now kneeling in it. Scout threw a soft punch into her Pokemon's shoulder. Clay laughed and massaged his shoulder with his hand. The commotion caused Sid to hop out of the mound of snow that he and the rest of Scout's party had been playing in. The little Scraggy pulled up his pant-like skin high up just beneath his breast, then slid down the mound of the and ran over towards Scout. Nell poked her head out of the snow and ran towards Scout as well, tumbling down the side of the mound of snow. However, Mae was less excited. She slowly stood up and carefully made her down off of of the small hill and followed after her two teammates. Looking up, Scout only had a split second before her and Lee were dog-piled onto by both Sid and Nell. All four of them were laughing now, rolling around in the snow and goofing off. Clay stood up and chuckled, folding his arms across his chest as Mae walked up beside him. "Ok ok ok that's enough!" Scout laughed, partially out of breath. She sat up in the snow, causing Sid to slide down into her lap. Nell took advantage of the opportunity to jump onto Scout's thigh, using Sid as a stepping stone as she ran over him and scaled up Scout to shoulder. Sid frowned and exhaled loudly. "Scraggy scragg!" he yelled out in protest, but before he could do anything Scout stood up out of the snow. The young woman brushed the snowflakes off of her clothes before looking down to Lee once more. She smiled at her Tyrogue and gently pressed her fist against his cheek. "Told ya you could do it." she said before straightening her back out. "Wow! That was pretty neat!" said a voice from behind Scout. The young woman slowly turned around in the snow, wide-eyed and looking around to try and find where the voice was coming from. Nell was sitting on Scout's shoulder, her small feet eagerly swinging back and forth, bouncing off her scapula as her heels swung back into her trainer's body. The small Riolu noticed the other woman who was off in the distance, applauding Scout's efforts at tutoring. Nell reached over and tugged on Scout's bright red hair, trying to get her trainers attention. "Lu lu lu!" she cried, continuing to pull on Scout's hair while she pointed over towards the young woman who was approaching. "Hm?" Scout said, looking up to her Riolu before following her hand to where it was pointed. Scout's smiled and waved in the woman's direction. The woman stopped a few feet in front of Scout and looked at her Pokémon that were surrounding her. To the left of Scout was Clay, standing tall with his hands on his hips, and Lee standing before him with his arms folded across his chest. On the right was Sid, who was paying no attention to the trainer who had approached them. He was glaring up at Scout and violently began to tug on her pant-leg with one hand while he accusingly pointed at Nell who was sitting on his shoulder, obviously jealous. Meanwhile Nell had lowered her arm and continued to swing her feet back and forth again, unaware of Sid's frustrations. Last but not least, Mae had moved so that she was positioned behind Scout, staring at the trainer from her peripheral vision between her trainers legs. "Your squad certainly looks tough! Very impressive!" the woman said to Scout, causing the young woman to awkwardly rub the back of her neck and smile. "Hey thanks," Scout said when suddenly her attention was caught by the two Pokémon that appeared beside the woman. "You've gotta let us battle you to try out Lee's new moves! Please?" she asked with a flood of excitement. Scout looked down at her Pokémon that surrounded her. Many of them needed experience, so it would be hard to chose between them. Scout clasped her chin between her thumb and forefinger, thinking over her options. Smiling, she slammed her fist into her open palm. "Alright! Mae and Lee! Lets do this!" she said, having selected her two Pokemon. Lee nodded up towards Scout eagerly with a smile across his face. He hoped that this time he would be able to do damage from his extensive tutoring. The Tyrogue ran out in front of Scout, standing between her and the opposing Pokémon that were opposite of him. Mae meanwhile slowly made her way over to her partner. She then sat down onto the ground and folded her legs, looking up towards her enemies once before she closed her eyes and began to meditate. Clenching her fists together, Scout smiled. She was eager to see how well Lee could do with his new training. However, she needed to cover the basics first. "Alright Lee!" she called out to her Pokemon, "Assist Mae by using [attack=Helping Hand] to support her next attack. Mae, use his assistance to help you attack the Venonat with a [attack=Confusion]!" The two Pokémon looked over their shoulders as their commands were given. "Lee when you've finished helping Mae, turn your attention onto the Snover. Hit him twice with a [attack=Mach Punch] and Mae you follow it up with another two [attack=Confusion]s!" Edited by Scout, Nov 7 2014, 08:05 PM.

Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
|
Shimo City - Outside the Pokémon Center Early Afternoon Hailing "Wow! Sure, I'll give it a shot! Let's get ready to fight, guys!" The Snover at her side began to bristle. Utilizing a mystical ability unbeknownst to you, the Ice type altered the very weather around you. The snow that was lightly falling from the skies had transformed into hard, painful crystals that pelted down from the sky and caused pain to just about every thing in the immediate area. "My name's Tanya, and me, Snover, and Venonat are gonna show you what we can do! Snover, start off by using two Icy Wind attacks! Venonat, use Supersonic, and then Disable on the Meditite!" Lee started spouting a whole bunch of motivational stuff in Mae's direction. He was ready to give Mae his extra energy in order to boost her next attack. The Snover opened up his mouth and cast out a chilling wind that bit right to the core of your two Fighting types. The move didn't do much damage, but its effect to lower your team's speed worked out real well. Well, well for your opponent at any rate. The Venonat started emitting a bizarre screeching noise that pierced the brain of Lee. He fell to his knees and clutched his skull. Snover and Mae, however, were unaffected. Mae was next to act, utilizing her psionic powers to create the illusion that the ice was terribly large balls of fire. The pain felt by the bug type, however, was very real. In fact, it was so real that the Venonat fainted immediately! Lee did his best to bring himself up to speed mentally. In a brief moment of clarity, he barreled forward and unleashed his newly learned Mach Punch. He was so fast you almost missed it. The Snover got smacked and backed up briefly before getting pissed and unleashing a Powder Snow that..completely missed the target! Mae fired a Confusion attack at the Snover. Lee kept going and smacked the Snover once more before dipping back into the fog that was placed upon him by the Supersonic attack. Mae finished off the round by unloading another Confusion. What was this? The Snover appears to be just as confused as Lee! What an interesting development! The last thing to happen was damage to Lee and Mae by the hailstorm! Well that was the long and short of it, trainer. Interesting fight thus far. The level advantage of the Snover was really causing you some pain. Hopefully you could win this fight soon! "Thanks!" said Scout to her new opponent, grateful that she had accepted her challenge. "It's great to meet you Tanya. My name is Scout!" she said in response to Tanya's greeting. With the formalities out of the way, the two trainers returned their focus to the battle that was about to ensue between them. After Scout called out her orders, she looked down to her side at her other Pokémon who were standing beside her. All of her Pokémon were excited to spectate the battle before them. Scout smiled down to her Pokemon, pleased that they were wanting to support both Lee and Mae as they entered their first battle together. Scout nodded to herself and then looked up away at her Pokémon and towards her new opponent and her Pokemon. The battle was about to begin! With a stern look, Lee turned his attention to Mae and began to provide her with a sense of morale. Mae, despite her typical serious nature, smiled slightly at her partner as he reassured her of her abilities. Turning her attention to the Venonant, Mae closed her eyes and began harnessing her attack. Scout grit her teeth as she watched the enemy Snover fire off an [attack=Icy Wind] in her Pokemon's direction. Though both Lee and Mae naturally resisted the typing of the attack, the Snover's power was increased significantly due to the fact that it out-leveled Scout's Pokemon. Lee held up his forearm over his face, trying to shield himself from the bold blast of wind while Mae continued to meditate and appeared to be unphased. That was when the opposing Venonat let out an ear-piercing screech towards her Pokemon. "Shit," muttered Scout to herself the moment she noticed the attack caused Lee to suffer from Confusion. That was just what they needed at the moment. Hopefully Lee would be able to get a grip on himself and not be effected too bad by his current status condition. Mae suddenly opened her eyes. She attacked the opposing bug type with her psychic powers, causing the small creature to visualize that the hail falling from the sky (due to the Snover's [ability=Snow Warning] ability) had morphed into deadly balls of fire that were raining down on her. The Venonant appeared to panic as Mae assaulted her with her psychic prowess. Scout's eyes widened as she watched the enemy Venonant go down with one attack. She smiled and jumped up in the air, throwing her fists above her head victoriously. "Now that's what I'm talking about Mae!" she said, impressed and laughing slightly. Without wasting another second, Lee darted off towards the opposing Snover. Scout caught her Pokemon's quick movement out of the corner of her eye, causing her to turn around and watch as he lay a heady handed [attack=Mach Punch] into the Snover's face. Lee ducked down beneath the Snover, dodging an incoming [attack=Powder Snow] from his opponent, then sprung up and slammed his fist into the Pokemon's side with another [attack=Mach Punch]. Scout was grinning from ear to ear now; her team was doing so well! Not only that, but so far Lee was managing with his Confused state exceptionally! "Lee we can finish this if you move fast enough!" called out Scout to her little Tyrogue. The little tyke turned his body slightly so that he could see his trainer. Lee looked up to Scout with a smirk and pounded a closed fist into his open palm. Scout grinned, tightening her closed fists as excitement from the battle continued to build up within her. "Get in there and try to take out the Snover with a [attack=Mach Punch]! Follow it up with a second blow if one isn't enough!" she said, hoping that Lee could take out his last opponent without receiving any more extensive damage. Scout's eyes glanced over towards her Meditie, Mae. She looked down to the ground for a moment, thinking to herself. Scout trusted Lee's abilities to finish off the Snover, but it would probably be best to have Mae take action as well just in case. Scout nodded to herself, her decision made. Looking back up to her Pokemon, Scout called out: "Mae! Keep Lee covered! Hold off the Snover with [attack=Confusion] and take it out with a second if Lee needs further assistance!" Mae looked over at Scout with solemn eyes, gently nodding in her trainers direction. While Lee was preparing to initiate a physical assault with blinding speed, Mae was prepared to impede the Snover with a barrage of psychic attacks if necessary. Mae lowered her head and closed her eyes, resuming her mediation until her assistance was needed. |

Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
|
Shimo City - Outside the Pokémon Center Early Afternoon Hailing Well, trainer, it was all boiling down to this. Rather than a long drawn out battle, this was a matter of haymakers. The real question was... who'd get the winning blow? Tanya was incredibly excited and hopping up and down. Her energy was mirrored by the remaining Pokémon she had left on the field. "Oh man! Oh man! Oh man! Snover, you gotta take them out!! Use Powder Snow on Mae, then finish off Lee with one too!" She was a rather quick study, having learned the names of your Pokémon after hearing them once. Perhaps Tanya was more clever than she let on. However, there wasn't much she could do about Lee's speed. The question was just did you have luck on your side. Lee had stars in his eyes, twirling around and trying his best to keep mentally sound. In a minute of clarity, he unloaded a quick Mach Punch! He utilized his burst of speed as the Snover sucked in a burst of air to unleash a devastating Powder Snow at Mae. Lee's punch landed right in the Snover's gut. The Snover fell over and collapsed into unconsciousness. The battle was yours! [table-class=center]
Exp Tanya slumped down on her knees in a brief bout of disappointment. "Aw man..." She quickly reacted though, jumping to her feet with a huge smile on her face. Surprisingly the smile seemed genuine. She held out two Poké Balls and recalled her Pokémon. "Nice try, guys, take a breather for now." Tanya ran over and began vigorously shaking your hand. "You're really something, Scout! Chief, you gotta tell me how your little guys are so strong!! They're so AWESOME!! You gotta teach me!" She suddenly looked flustered and bashful. "Oh what am I saying... we better get back to the Center and heal up. Then would you help me find some more Pokémon? I need a few warriors like your team in order to get strong! You gotta help me, chief!" Well, she was certainly...excitable. Well now you had a choice to make. Tanya seemed to want your help looking for wild Pokémon. You could also choose to just completely blow her off and go your own way. What will you do? [Trainer Exp: Total = 5 +20 = 25 ] Edited by Silas, Nov 12 2014, 11:06 PM.

"FREAK YES!" shouted Scout, jumping up and down in the snow with her arms over her head in victory as the battle ended in their favor. Without wasting another moment, the young woman rushed towards her Pokémon and slid down into the snow next to them. She threw one arm around Lee and the other around Mae, pulling them both in for a hug. Lee groaned slightly, trying to push himself away, while Mae let out a sigh. Scout released her Pokémon from her grip and looked down to the both of them. "You guys were amazing!" she said, smiling still. That was when Scout looked up from the ground and towards Tanya, the trainer she had defeated who was now congratulating Scout on her victory. "You're really something, Scout! Chief, you gotta tell me how your little guys are so strong!! They're so AWESOME!! You gotta teach me!" she said to Scout, slightly flustered and embarrassed. Still sitting in the snow with her Pokemon, Scout smiled up to her and laughed. "Don't be embarrassed!" Scout said reassuringly with a smile on her face. Scout picked herself up out of the snow and looked at Tanya now at eye level. "And thank you. It meant a lot to us that you would take the time to battle us." she said, glancing down to all of her Pokémon that hand now gathered around her. "Alright guys, I need you all to return for now." she said towards her Pokémon as she pulled out their Poke Balls. With a Poke Ball positioned in between each gap in her fingers, Scout recalled her team into their respective Poke Balls. As she clipped all of her Poke Balls back onto her belt, that left Scout with only one of her Pokemon: Sid. The small Scraggy was now standing beside his trainer, looking up to the young woman that they had just defeated. Scout looked back up to Tanya as she mentioned that they should probably head back towards the Pokémon Center. She nodded in response to the trainer, then looked down to the Scraggy standing next to her. In one swift movement, Scout scooped up the oblivious Scraggy up off of the ground and tucked him up under her arm. With Sid now in tow, Scout ran a few feet in the direction of the Pokémon Center. "Come on!" Scout yelled behind her, twirling around to face Tanya as she skipped backwards in the snow towards the Pokémon Center. Eagerly she spun back around, kicking up a flurry of snow off of the ground as she ran towards the Pokémon Center with Sid on her shoulder. The adrenaline that had built up from the battle against Tanya had tripled from Scout's victory. It was pumping through her entire system now, making it impossible for the young woman to slow down. "Scrag scrag scrag." mumbled Sid as he bounced up and down, still tucked up under Scout's armpit like a football with his face towards the ground. His body was resting on top of Scout's forearm, his chin in her hand, with his arms and legs limply dangling off the sides of Scout's forearm. The look on Sid's face made it obvious that he was not amused with his current predicament. As Scout continued to run towards the Pokémon Center, Sid let out an aggravated sigh. He was desperately hoping that this embarrassment would be over soon. Scout slowed down as she approached the Pokémon Center, looking up towards the large sign that loomed over the front of the building. She was breathing heavily now as she stood out in the cold, a white puff of smoke escaping her lips every time she exhaled. Still eager, Scout pushed on towards the entrance of the Pokémon Center. She strode through the sliding glass doors and into the Pokémon Center. As the doors closed behind her, Scout turned around to look out through the entryway as she waited for Tanya to catch up with her. Scout was paying no attention to Sid, who was beginning to struggle and flail around in Scout's grasp to be let down onto the ground. "Scraggy!" shouted Sid when he successfully managed to wiggly free from Scouts grasp, comically hovering in midair before he realized that gravity was about to take a hold of him. Like an old fashioned cartoon, Sid frowned at the realization before he fell down onto the tiled floor face-first. "Scraggy." he mumbled, still kissing the floor. As Tanya made her way into the Pokémon Center after Scout, the young woman then turned around and made her way to the reception desk that sat at the front of the building. She didn't even notice Sid had fallen from her and was still lying on the ground. As Scout walked away, Sid slowly picked himself off the ground and stood up. He pulled up his skin like pants high up over his waist, then waddled over towards Scout and Tanya as they approached the front desk. Scout greeted the nurse at the front desk as she looked down to the row of Poke Balls that were clipped to her belt. Scout reached down for the Poke Balls that contained Mae and Lee, quickly detaching them from her belt and then clasping them tightly in her closed fist. She turned back towards the nurse and handed over the Poke Balls for her two Pokemon, then moved to the side to allow Tanya to hand over her Pokémon to the nurse as well. While Tanya was depositing her injured Pokémon to the nurse who was on duty, Scout finally noticed Sid who was now standing at her feet and looking up at her with a glare. "Sid what are you doing down there?" she asked, laughing, as she folded her arms across her chest. Sid just frowned up at Scout in response. Rolling her eyes, Scout bent down and lifted her Scraggy up off the ground and placed him upon her shoulder. Sid let out a sigh and began to rub his face with his small hands. Scout then turned her attention down towards her belt once more and reached down for two more Poke Balls. Holding one in each hand, she clicked the center button on each Poke Ball and released a red light that shot down towards the ground before her. As the red light faded away, Clay and Nell left in its place. Scout smiled down to them as she attached the empty Poke Balls back onto her belt once more, just as the nurse came to her with her fully healed Pokemon. "Riolu?" curiously asked Nell, looking up to Scout and then to Clay who stood beside her. The Machop looked down to the small Riolu and reassuringly placed his hand on her head. Looking down to her two Pokemon, Scout held up an index finger to them as if she was asking them to give her a minute. She then turned around to face Tanya, who had also just received her fully healed Pokémon from the nurse. "You said you wanted to find some more Pokémon for your team?" Scout asked with a smile towards Tanya. "I'd be happy to help in any way I can. I would eventually like to try and take on the Gym here...there is a gym here right?" she said, looking over to Sid who was on his shoulder. The Scraggy, who was in charge of the map and had a better idea of the area than Scout did, rolled his eyes and nodded at his trainer. "So any we could use all the training and experience we can get!" she said, holding up an eager fist in front of her. With that, Scout looked down to her two Pokémon that she had released previously. "You've already met Mae and Lee, but these two here are Clay and Nell" said Scout as she knelt down behind her two Pokémon and placed a hand on each of their shoulders. "SCRAGGY." objected Sid on Scout's shoulder, tugging at her hair. "Oh and this turd is Sid." she said, pointing backwards with her thumb towards the Scraggy that was sitting on her shoulder. Sid rolled his eyes and made a snarky gesture, mocking Scout as he folded his arms across his chest. "Well when you're ready, let's get going!" Scout said as she pushed herself up from her kneeling position. "Surely we could find something good wandering the city. And if not, Route 2 isn't far from here either so we can check there." she said towards Tanya, eager to start training up her Pokémon some more. As Scout spoke to Tanya, Nell chimed in up towards Tanya with excitement ringing in her voice: "Riolu lu lu!" |
