Descriptions
Posted ImageOrban IslandPosted Image1: Southstone - A large city founded upon the large whitestone cliff at the southern tip of the island. Following mining operations upon the cliff, the modern layout is split into an upper settlement atop the cliff and a lower settlement upon the beach below, connected by flights stairs and elevators. The city operates as the scientific hub of the region, with Gatsby’s Research Center providing many new trainers their first Pokémon.

A: Route 1: Southern Path - A direct route leading straight from the Joukai Pass to Southstone. Many trainers spend their time along this barren and rocky route battling the grand expanse of Pokémon. [6]

2: Joukai Pass - A very large plain-like area surrounded by a large ring of small stone walls that line the perimeter. The center of the pass contains a large tower, guarded by three statues of Wisdom, Emotion, and Willpower - Pokémon battling in the tower is forbidden.
---: Joukai Tower - Joukai Tower is a large skyscraper like tower in the center of the Joukai pass. It is forbidden to battle the Pokémon that live within the tower, and anyone caught doing so will be dealt with by the guardians of the sanctuary.

B: Route 2: Winter Pass - A long and winding path that leads into a snow covered forest, gateway to the city of eternal snow, Shimo. Caution is advised when traveling this route, as getting lost is quite easy. However, at the edge of the forest is a small sled service that can help get to and from the city. Many Pokémon that are resilient to the cold can be found here, such as Ice types. [8]

3: Shimo City - A city nested deep within the coldest reaches of Alternia, with year-long snowfall emanating from Byaku Mountain blanketing the whole area. Despite this, the city is popular with tourists, given the plethora of attractions on offer - including an ice skating rink, a three tier ski slope down the side of the mountain and a plethora of gift shops and cafes featuring many local delicacies and treats.

4: Byaku Mountain - A tall, snow-covered mountain. There is an expansive cave network within, but finding entrances through the constant wind and snow can be difficult.

C: Route 3: Razeda Trail (East) - An unkempt and ill-maintained path covered in rough terrain, razed woodland and overgrown grassy fields. Many Bug and Poison Pokémon are hiding away in the overgrowth underneath, attempting to ensnare unaware Pokémon and trainers alike. The western edge of this section features a junction, allowing trainers the option of accessing and travelling through the Meteoric Plains. A rest area is stationed upon this junction. [3]

D: Route 3: Razeda Trail (West) - An unkempt and ill-maintained path covered in rough terrain, razed woodland and overgrown grassy fields. Many Bug and Poison Pokémon are hiding away in the overgrowth underneath, attempting to ensnare unaware Pokémon and trainers alike. The western section of the trail is known to be the fastest way to Kijutsu City. [3]

5: Kijutsu City - Settled on the north-western tip of the island and home to a large number of factories, Kijutsu is the industrial capital of the entire region. The city consists of large metal structures at every corner, in stark contrast to what was once an area of natural beauty. Unfortunately, the bustling city is also renowned for more than its fair share of seedy and disgusting behaviour in all hours of the day. Travelers are warned about a light smog that encompasses the entire city, a byproduct of all the factories at work throughout the city.

E: Route 4: Kijutsu Gate - A small clay road leading trainers exiting the Meteoric Plains towards the southern entrance of Kijutsu City. Dust clouds are commonly seen to the side of the road because of Pokémon from the plains burrowing underground. [1]

6: Meteoric Plains - A treacherous, crater filled area to the south-east of Kijutsu City. Trainers can mine for stones, search for hardy Pokémon, and bask in the beautiful imagery that is the fallen meteors that have rooted themselves into the earth, the craters of all sizes caused by them, and the ravaged, jagged hills and fissured, craggy earth. It is notable that no physical path exists through the plains, although both the Razeda Trail to the east and Kijutsu Gate to the west are accessible. [5]
Miracu Island7: Miracu City - The small city of Miracu is the only city on the island. It is a relatively small city, as many come here only as tourists to witness and explore the strange islands off its coast, the large and elegant Liliana Shallows, and the marvel of the never ending rainstorm that continuously plagues Rainwater Path.

F: Route 5: Rainwater Path - An unusual route that suffers consistent rainfall and the occasional thunderstorm. Many Pokémon flourish in this wet and muddy environment, however, making it an ideal home for land-based water types. [4]

8: Weather Station - A research center that was originally built to observe and study the strange weather phenomenon of the area, though it was later expanded to additionally act as the atmospheric forecasting center for the entire region. The people who work here keep track of all the weather patterns across the region and are known to provide valuable information to travelers who stop by.

9: Dujok Swamp - A large swamp nestled on the northern reaches of the island, a resulting product of the never-ending rain from Rainwater Path that drains down and gathers in this area. Navigating through the swamp can prove difficult as the designated path is often obscured, and one wrong step could lead to being neck-deep in mud or marshlands.

G: Route 6: Shallows Edge - A short, gentle and grassy passage that separates the Rainwater Path and the Lilliana Shallows and provides a nice reprieve from the rain in the east. While most of the water flows northward into the swamp, a few small streams have formed alongside the path on the route and flow into the shallows. [2]

10: Liliana Shallows - A very large, but shallow lake, littered with hundreds of lily pads - all which belong to the numerous Lotad and family that use this place to maintain their species. Other varieties of water-type Pokémon can also be found, although less common than the water weed Pokémon that calls it home. The beauty of this area attracts many visitors, especially at sunrise.

11: Crag Island - An eerie island with a small population of wild Pokémon living on it. There is supposedly a sealed cavern rumoured to be somewhere beneath it, and the ruins of a strange temple surrounded by rubble atop a hill in the centre of the island.

12: Frost Island - An eerie island with a small population of wild Pokémon living on it. There is supposedly a sealed cavern rumoured to be somewhere beneath it, and the ruins of a strange temple surrounded by small glaciers atop a hill in the centre of the island.

13: Mineral Island - An eerie island with a small population of wild Pokémon living on it. There is supposedly a sealed cavern rumoured to be somewhere beneath it, and the ruins of a strange temple surrounded by lustrous steel atop a hill in the centre of the island.
Zaroff Island14: Millenia - A large city located near the ocean that has become a warm and welcoming hub for travellers - and a popular tourist location - following the completion of the Tri Tunnel. The town is home to many water-type Pokémon, many of which can be seen at the local Aquarium - whilst a large beach containing long jetties made of piled rocks protects the town from the large waves of the ocean.

H: Route 7: Floral Avenue - A pleasant path lined with flowers, linking the base of Platinum Mountain to Millenia. Inhabited by many types of Pokémon, this is a favoured route amongst trainers. [5]

I: Route 8: Platinum Cave - A naturally formed tunnel that exists inside of Platinum Mountain. Until the completion of the Tri Tunnel, there had been a dead end halfway through the mountain. Cave-dwelling Pokémon can be found here, including a number of water Pokémon residing in the natural pools of water within. [4]

15: Platinum Mountain - The largest mountain in Alternia, towering over the entireity of Zaroff Island. It's slopes are rich with minerals and ores, a miner's paradise - if only not for the fact that Platinum Mountain is an infamous roost of many Dragon type Pokémon's nests, most likely the reason it is also widely known as the 'Dragon's Nest'. Until the completion of the Tri Tunnel, anyone travelling around the island had to navigate their way around the mountain.
---: Shark Fin Peak - The highest point of the Platinum Mountain, and hardest place to reach of the Dragon's Nest. Naturally shaped in the likeness of a giant shark fin. It is said to be especially treacherous when the winds are strong.

J: Route 9: Tri Tunnel - A recently completed section of man-made tunnels that connects Peddleton to Millenia Town and the Falla Desert via the Platinum Cave. It is heavily rumoured that a number of Pokémon from atop the Mountain and Platinum Cave moved to take residence within this new tunnel. [7]

K: Route 10: Falla Desert - A large expanse of dry, barren ground that encompasses all land to the south of Platinum Mountain. Covered entirely in sand, the area is treacherous to navigate as a result of both the constant sandstorm that encompasses the area and the number of Pokémon digging underneath the surface. The geysers found in the middle of the area are particularly dangerous. [7]

16: Desert Geysers - This area with the Falla Desert has a very unique quality. Through a method that continues to baffle scientists, sand geysers erupt just about everywhere across the expanse of sand. The sand thrown into the air is the source of the strong unending sandstorm over the area.

L: Route 11: Abandoned Road - A half-constructed road through the middle of Falla Desert. The road had been intended to connect Falburne City with the entrance to Falcave Town's Underground Cavern, but work was abandoned after the desert geysers caused significant damage to the asphalt rollers required to complete the job. Pokémon have since dug countless holes into the surface of the road. Despite being abandoned, it still serves as a useful guide for those attempting to navigate the desert. [4]

17: Falburne City - A surprisingly active city located in one of the hottest and deepest parts of the Falla Desert, formed around ancient ruins that were found surrounding a lush and expansive oasis. Despite the road leading out of the city, it is actually very difficult to find because of the constant geyser traps and sandstorms that must be passed - although only occasional sandstorms pass through the city itself since fortifications around the city help block wind and sand from entering.

18: Underground Cavern - A wide cave system with access to Falcave from the surface. Aside from the entrance leading underground from the stormy Falla Desert, there are no other entrances. The cavern itself is open with large pillars of natural rock holding the ceiling. Trade carts are a common sight on the main path, but there are plenty of side paths in which to explore.

M: Route 12: Falcave Gate - A small man-made passage created long ago during the construction of Falcave City. Small cracks and crevices have formed in the intervening time, providing further habitat for a number of cave Pokémon. [1]

19: Falcave Town - A town located within the sprawling passages of the cavern beneath the Falla Desert. The town is split into northern and southern sections by the shallow underground lake upon which the town had been built - and is connected by a single toughened bridge.

N: Route 14: Shore Lane - A coastline path leading from the Platinum Mountain to Peddleton. The path offers a scenic view of the ocean and Aer Tower in the distance, and has proven popular with artists and photographers. Additionally, trainers spend time here admiring the view whilst battling the numerous Pokémon that appear in the grass or appear on the edge of the ocean shore. [6]

20: Peddleton - A large portside city, known for and influenced by the extensive cargo-handling and freight shipping industries - both of which are the reason that a large collection of docks dominate the northern skyline. The city received its name as a result of the famous Peddler's Market, where anyone and everyone can trade their goods daily for cash and Pokémon - although this does lead to the occasional dodgy dealer and an abundance of crooks and scam artists that travelers must be wary of.
Naturia Island21: Golderia City - The wealthy port city of Golderia is the only city on the island, built upon the land surrounding a long-standing castle that has been passed down through the generations. Large stone walls encompass the city, built long ago to protect the castle from the threat of siege. Despite the historic traditions of the city, air conditioning is installed within all buildings to deal with the clear skies and intense sunshine during the day. Given the level of wealth in the city, police patrols and security guards are employed around the clock to ensure said wealth is safeguarded from potential thieves.

O: Route 15: Sunshine Way - A calm and verdant path extending from the north of Golderia City to the Sunblossom Meadow. Given the intense sunlight beaming down upon on the route during the day, a number of grassland Pokémon remain hidden until the night. [5]

22: Sunblossom Meadow - A large, rolling meadow full of berry bushes and flowers galore, home to many Pokémon. It is said that once a year, a group of Shaymin migrate here to pollinate the field with seeds from exotic places.

P: Route 16: Spring Path - A lengthy grassy path that leads from the Sunblossom Meadow to the Forest of Legends. Clear and sunny skies are typical, but a light breeze wanders through the route that keeps temperatures relatively modest. [9]

23: Forest of Legends - The largest forest in the whole of Alternia, thought to have been formed and blessed by a Legendary Pokémon. Many wild Pokémon can be found within the forest, although many trainers seek to travel through the woodlands to reach the small village of Nogou, which can be found in the heart of the forest.

24: Nogou Village - A thriving village located in the heart of the Forest of Legends, full of people who love the forest and have a deep connection with nature. The citizens of this city are resourceful and respectful towards the environment around them - houses are present both on the ground and throughout the tree canopies, meaning that Nogou consists of multiple levels to explore, and most structures are made from natural resources from nearby. In some cases, some buildings were fashioned by guiding the growth of trees and plants.

Q: Route 17: Savanna Trail - A winding path through Naturia Island countryside, formed through a combination of the dirt below and gravel chippings. There are almost no trees surrounding this path, allowing a variety of Pokémon to frolic through the grasslands. [11]

25: Titan Lake - Widely known as the deepest lake in Alternia, it is a hot-spot for fishermen who choose to seek out rare Pokémon. It is rumoured that those who have dived deep enough have found a lost ruin beneath the waters, but few return. Often they say that they barely escaped a beast's savage jaws. [3]

R: Route 18: Titan Lakefront - A short, grassy path heading eastwards from Golderia City through a small thicket of trees to Titan Lake. Nature trails from Golderia to Nogou pass through this road, and are a common occurrence. Given the intense sunlight all year round, many grass and forest Pokémon can be found resting up in the trees during the day. [3]
Aer Island26: Aer Tower - An immensely tall cylindrical tower city that pierces into the sky. With one hundred floors (not including the rooftop) and a diameter of four hundred feet, the tower functions as a sleek, futuristic metropolis for the entire region. Whilst there are tens of elevators around the circumference of the tower to enable to travel for the hundreds of residents and workers, only the main central elevator leads up to the rooftop – which is an excellent vantage point for the rest of Alternia. Trainers may even bear witness to Sky Pokémon flying around the tower.

Notably, all the elevators in the tower appear unable to access floors 96-100.
Champion Island27: Pokémon League HQ - A skyscraper built to house the Alternian Pokémon League Officials. Only once you have completed your preparations will you be able to enter the stadium grounds for the Grand Tournament, after showing proof of entry in eight gym badges. It is also through here that, once eligible, you are allowed access to the surrounding islands, where you may try and battle the Elite 4, and Champion. Other times in the year, you may pass uninhibited to use the state of the art Stadium for your own usage, or confer with Pokémon League officials for various forms of business.
---: Pokémon League Stadium - A modern stadium made to be the battlegrounds of those that have succeeded in attaining enough badges to participate. The Pokémon League Tournament is held once a year to see who on Alternia is worthy to take the Elite Four challenge. At other times, this all-purpose stadium can be used for trainer's own purposes whenever they want, to either battle other fellow trainers, or participate in smaller tournaments. Entry at these times isn't limited.
Resort Island28: Resort Island - A resort area for all Alternians, where they can come and be pampered. The many fashion shops attract many Coordinators, along with Alternians hailing from the nearby Aer Tower. The island plays host to the Annual Grand Festival Pokémon contest.
Safari Island29: Safari Zone - Located to the north of Zaroff Island, this once barren island has now become a preserve for some very rare Pokémon, many of which cannot be found anywhere else in the region. A number of Pokémon have been imported from other regions to feature within this nature reserve.
Unown IslandS: Route 13: Mysterious Path - A short path surrounded by creepy dark trees, which cover the path leading trainers to the Unown Dungeon. The only way to reach the island and the path itself is via a small port to the north, allowing travellers to anchor their boats. [6]

30: Unown Dungeon - An ancient, tomb like ruin that circles downward into the earth. The enigmatic species of Pokémon known as Unown are the sole inhabitants. It's very much like a maze inside.
Amie Island31: Swap Meet Plaza - An urban square, situated on an island where time does not pass.

Only accessible via the Pokémon Center Transportation Service, the nature of the Plaza means trainers from all across Alternia and beyond can meet and interact together without any time passing in reality. The Plaza includes the Game Zone (a casino/game area where trainers can earn Star Tokens), a plethora of battleground stadia of varying field types and a small idyllic park with a fountain in the centre.

A Contest Hall is rumoured to be under construction.
Aurora Isles32: Aurora Isles - These "islands" appear to move across the sea from day to day. Some suggest atmospheric illusions cloud the view, but a reef around the islands protects them from ships. Only the worthy are allowed near enough to touch their shores.
Primal Isles33: The Wildlands - Surrounded by gigantic whirlpools, giant pillars of shipwreck covered stone, and unforgiving seas, these islands have probably been visited by humans only once in its history, hundreds of years ago. The islands are covered with vast jungles, rolling plains, treacherous hills, and tall mountains, as well as dotted by many rivers and stream. The most distinguished feature, however, would be the massive, lake-sized whirlpool swirling in the centre of the island. Nearly a miniature of a region in itself, this island is special; as it's only inhabitants are Pokémon from a prehistoric age.
Forbidden Isles34: ??? - This is the restricted area at the north east of the region. Horrifically strong Pokémon roam these vastly unexplored lands, which is why access is only granted to those who have successfully completed the Pokémon League Challenge of the Champion Isles. Many Pokémon considered as legends make a resting place of these islands, further adding to the enormous danger they present to trainers.
Oceanic Exploration?: Seafloor Ruins - An area of underwater ruins of some sort, typically perceived to be an ancient castle or temple. No one is completely certain of it's exact location, but it can be travelled to by ways of a special exploration ship, which can be dived off of to explore. It is fabled to be the home of Poseidon.
