Hello~ Once again I am bringing to you, a new contest! Unlike the last one, this contest will be adding to Alternia, but we aren't adding just any old thing. This time we are adding Pokeballs for you to use when catching Pokemon on the site! The magical little moster catching spheres is finally in your power. What will you create? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok so now let's get into the specifics of this contest. There are three types of Pokeballs made by the Canon series of games. We have the original Pokeballs which include the Pokeball, Premierball, Cherishball, Greatball, Ultraball, and Masterball. All these Pokeballs do is catch Pokemon with special rates. These rates are unchanging and the Pokeballs have no secondary effect. Next we have the Apricorn Balls. These were introduced in Generation 2 and were created by Kurt in Azaela. These were special Pokeballs made from a small nut called an Apricorn. All of these had specific effects on what they captured. And lastly we have the Specialty Balls. These were introduced in both Generation 3 and 4 and were special Pokeballs with secondary effects, or specialty effects. These revolved around meeting certain criteria to raise the already normal catch rate of these Pokeballs. Now you get a chance to design a Pokeball on one of these three types. You get to chose to modify the Pokeball to have a different Catch Rate, create a new Apricorn Ball, very similar to the two Abyssal Prison Pokeballs, or design a Specialty Ball that works under specific conditions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Name of the Pokeball: Rainbow Ball Catch Rate: 6x% Secondary Effect: For each distinct major color included in a Pokemon's body (not counting eye color) according to the ROYGBIV standard (plus white, gray, brown, and black), the capture rate increases by 6%. Catching a Bellossom, for instance, would be 18% because it has red, yellow, and green. Design Info: The regular button gives way to a target arrangement for the ROYGBIV. So, basically, there's the white fastener/button, and then a ring of violet, ring of indigo, ring of blue, etc. outward in a target arrangement. Also, would it be too much to require a red, blue, and yellow shard plus a regular Pokeball to make this? Edited by TehGainiac, Sep 22 2012, 02:47 PM.

Name of the Pokeball: Infernal Darkness Ball Catch Rate: 15% Secondary Effect: This ball has a 15% success rate when working on any Pokemon other than Fire, Dark, or Ghost Pokemon. When used against a Fire, Dark, or Ghost type Pokemon, the success rate jumps from 15% and goes anywhere up to 50% success rate. In addition, the ball, regardless of the type of Pokemon captured by it, will strengthen the darker emotions and ideas, thus allowing the Pokemon to draw upon these negative ideas/emotions and multiply it's attack power by 1.5%. (Short version: The Pokemon is in the ball, it reflects on dark/evil/negative ideas/emotions, then when released into battle, has a slight spike in attack power.) Design Info: The top of the ball is black, and has dark crimson colored flames on it, around the front and back. The bottom of the ball is crimson with black flames. The ring of the ball is a steel grey color, giving the feel of chains, and the release button is a dark purple color. When a Pokemon is being captured or released for battle, the beam that it emits is a slightly harsh grey color. |

The beam is the same as the other pokeballs. |

Name of the Pokeball: Endurance Ball Catch Rate: 15% Secondary Effect: +15% catch rate for pokemon that use physical attacks as primary attacks. Design Info: ![]() The Endurance Ball is somewhat thicker and a bit bulkier then your average pokeball. It is a tan brown color and has rough edges that somewhat makes it look like the crafter where thinking of a Golem when it was created. Ok by physical attacks as Primary i am talking like how Machop uses his physical attacks and you dont see them running around using Psychic and other moves like that. The easiest way to see if it would effect a pokemon is look at its level up list, if over half of its level up moves are physical attacks then it works is what i was thinking. could always be higher for the level up moves if you guys think it needs it. Traditional: Name of the Pokeball: Anniversary Ball a.k.a. 'Seven Ball' Catch Rate: 77% Design Info: ![]() It should be a slots style 7 on the front of a premier ball. Further color/styling possible, I just wanted a similar feel to the Premier Ball. I made a sprite attempt, but stylized letter in that small of size is hard. The seven ball has a catch rate of seventy-seven percent; seven lucky people get seven balls during the Alternian seven day festival. Also, for those seven days, they are on sale in shops for only $77 (normally $777). Seven. Seven balls are created promotionally for the seven day festival annually; they have a high catch rate 77% and are semi-common during the festival. The longer it has been since the festival when one was manufactured, the more it is worth unused; however. They are only created for the festivities; with value of unused one during the festival being only $77 and rising for seven months until they are worth $777. In simple terms. (1) This is a 7 Day Festival item that is available in normal shops. (2) When buying from a shop DURING the festival it only costs $77. For the rest of the year, they cost $777. (3) Similarly to other festival items, (Painting, Medallion) the value of an owned ball goes up with time. Selling for $77, during the first month; $177, during the second; $277, the third; and so on until selling for $777 permanently. (4) Unlike the other festival items, it is a functional pokeball, with a high catch rate. Apricorn: Name of the Pokeball: Petit Ball Apricorn Used: Black Catch Rate: 65 - (Pokemon's Weight in Kilograms) % Secondary Effect: A ball for catching petit pokemon. Best on the lightest pokemon, good catch rate on pokemon below 50kg; fails on all pokemon over 65kg. Design Info: ![]() Scientist experimenting with the special effects of apricorn balls developed balls made with apricorns, which have largely the exact opposite effect of their normal counterparts. The first commercially successful one of his balls is the petit ball; the inverse of the heavy ball. His "inversion" techniques are considered a trade secret. The ball is visually and physically similar to it's normal counterpart, differing only in coloration; where the heavy ball has blue markings, the petit has red and the cap is a dull gold rather than a dull silver. Specialty Ball: Name of the Pokeball: Ancient Ball Catch Rate: 15% Secondary Effect: Increased catch rate with ancient pokemon. [Pokemon that learn AncientPower or Cosmic Power by level up. Ghost types. Unown.] Some of the ancient wisdom is imparted on the pokemon caught as well. Immediately after being caught, the pokemon may learn one move from the following list; Pokemon must be able to learn this move via level up or egg: AncientPower; Cosmic Power; Ominous Wind; Nature Power. If pokemon cannot learn any of the other four; it learns Hidden Power. Hidden Power learned in this manner is always B-rank. Effect will evolve pokemon that evolve by learning AncientPower. Design Info: ![]() A very heavy pokeball, apparently carved from a single piece of stone and covered in ancient runes. They rely on a mysterious ancient power to capture pokemon; rather than modern technology. Often found as fossils of ancient civilizations; they are still produced by certain monks of the ancient arts. Where the button would be is a hole in the style of an old Japanese coin; and the ball seems to use wave of mysterious energy when letting a pokemon in or out; the color of the energy varies, depending on the type of the Hidden Power of the pokemon contained. The shamanic energies seem to make the pokemon wiser for the experience. Coin
