Couldn't sleep, eh? I wouldn't be able to either what with my very own journey about to start. Things were looking up for you. You finally had a chance to explore the world on your own without the damn effort of "companionship" with other human beings. Really, in the end, all you need is Phos. She'll keep you company through whatever you choose to go through. Well, unless you decide to go whack her upside the head and call her silly names, but I'm sure you won't do that. Will you? No, probably not. Probably.

Well, let's get started, shall we? The world is a big place. Perhaps you'd like to start by wandering around Millenia Town before all the hustle and bustle of a big city overtakes the place, or maybe you'd want to get out of here as fast as you can. Or maybe you'd like to battle that Krabby over there on the beach, scuttling around like he owns the damn place. You have a million and three possibilities, so get cracking!

Oh, make that a million and four. Looks like there's some girl out on the pier all alone, and she seems to be struggling with something. On closer inspection it's her Poketech. She appears to be having some kind of issue with it. Of course, you can probably fix it using your vast wealth of knowledge and the fact that she probably just changed the language to Icelandic and can't figure out how to get it back. In fact, from her mutterings that seems to be exactly what happened. Well, it's a very quick fix but she doesn't seem to be able to get it. Perhaps you can help her out?

Or, you know, not. I mean why would you want to have to deal with people? Isn't that why you're leaving on a journey in the first place? Then again, she does look like she needs a lot of help, and she is rather little. Come to think of it, why would a 14ish looking year old girl be out and about all alone this early in the morning? This just gets curiouser and curiouser. Of course you could leave it alone, who am I to command you? Whenever I'm faced with an open road, I remember these famous words:

Silas

The world is your :cloyster

So what are you waiting for, get explorin'!

Virgil let out a long drawn out breath. It was finally his time to leave this place. Standing at the beach alone, like had for so many years of his life, Virgil stared off into the distance, engraving the site in his brain. He had often come to this beach in his younger years, the waves splashing against the sand and the sound of the water hitting the posts of the dock always seemed to calm him. Seemed to make it easier for Virgil to think when things got rough around here. Virgil sighed again, "As much as I would hate to admit it, I might miss this place a little bit..."

The quiet scene at the beach was quickly disrupted by the sounds of a krabby clacking it's over-sized pincers around. It wasn't too uncommon a site in the early morning for this type of pokemon to be around, but they usually came out at night after most people have left. This particular krabby was either very brave or not as intelligent as the rest of his kind. Maybe a combination of the two. Virgil gripped the pokeball that held Phos inside of it. Though he had spent a decent amount of time with her already, she definitely wasn't ready for any big battles. A fight against a krabby would be a decent way to start for her. He rleased her from the ball and pat her head lightly as she hovered around next to him. "Morning." Virgil said calmly. "I know how excited you were to finally leave the city, but how about a quick warm up first?" He said as he eyed the krabby.

While getting in position for battle, Virgil's eye also caught notice of a girl at the docks. Alone. Memories came flowing back to him, of him, as a young boy sitting at the docks alone on days like this. He quickly shook those thoughts out of his head. Virgil didn't like remembering them, they were at a time when he really was alone. Phos hadn't even been around back then. He sighed and turned his attention back to the krabby on the beach. "If she needs help she will ask for it.. I'll just keep an eye out just in case.." He shook his head again. What was he doing? Why does he need to help out? He was going to leave this town soon anyways, but still... the site of a young person sitting alone here didn't sit well with him..

Millenia Beach Early morning, sunrise

Despite the morning chill and a barely waking sun, you could already feel the heat the summer day would bare on the sea-bound breezes that washed over you, tugging playfully at your clothes and odd colored hair. Just one sign of many that your quiet, isolated world on this lonely beach would soon come crumpling in. The day was breaking, the sun was peeking over the horizon, bringing with it a spectrum of pinks, golds, and reds that were filling the sky, chasing away the dawn's dark.

In time, people would come by the droves. Tourists and children with their families, bringing with them their floaties and joy and litter. Perhaps not your scene, after how much of your life you'd spent on your own, nose in your books. But for now you were given the gift of seclusion, save for your opponent and your pokemon...

And she seemed quite pleased to see you. She had pressed her head into your hand as you had pet her, her body and fins moving as if she was in water despite hovering just above the ground. It was clear that she was rather playful, altogether sweet, really!, and she curled wide figure eights around your ankles, sometimes brushing her pale body against your pants in a gesture of affection not so unlike a cat. She clearly liked you a lot, despite the short time you'd known her...

and as you quietly, gently, asked her about how she'd enjoy a warm up battle she immediately ceased her playing to float before you, her tail slashing from side to side in a way that was undoubtedly meant to be "fierce". She was still wet behind the proverbial ears, sure, but as she turned to face the pincer gnashing krabby, she was determined she could defeat him!

Would that make you proud? Would that make you smile and pet her more? She certainly hoped so!

On the field, Krabby was prepared for a fight, his mouth already wreathed in a long string of aggressive foam. He'd been rolling his eyes throughout her whole display, waiting impatiently for her to fight, and when she did he began to move from side to side. Like all crabs, he had fantastic scuttling speeds, fantastic for evasion and surprise strikes...

But Phos wasn't deterred. Natural instinct ran deep... and while she didn't have a school to fight with her, there was nothing but assurance in her dark eyes and in her movements. Her ancestors had taken down countless Krabby- that wasn't about to change here.. She just needed your command to launch the first attack!

On the dock, you'd finally netted the attention of the young teen... who had discreetly moved her position so that she was sitting on the edge of the dock closest to you. Her hands gripping its edge, her legs swinging back and forth, she had put aside her poke'tech for now to watch. She couldn't help herself- she adored pokemon... and while she wasn't a fabulous battler, she certainly did love watching matches. And, hey, maybe later she'd bother you for a bit of help.. once you were done with your battle!

Virgil smiled to himself as Phos had danced around playfully around him. He marveled at how easily the tiny thing had maneuvered itself throughout the air, swimming nearly as gracefully as some of the most well trained water pokemon can through liquid. The way her fins seemingly rippled through the air was a little mesmerizing, seeming to flow against the invisible currents of air. Virgil was glad he was able to befriend one such as friendly as this one. Tynamo usually travel in schools, so some of them do not adapt too well when being taken away from similar group environments.

Virgil's attention shifted to the krabby, which had seemingly been itching for a fight the entire time. It was already foaming at the mouth, clicking it's pincers together rapidly seemingly in an attempt to intimidate Virgil and his partner. This only seemed to put Phos more in the mood for battle, as she shifted from her more playful demeanor into a much more serious one, floating between Virgil and the foul-mooded crustacean.

Virgil quickly scanned his brain for any information on krabby, looking for things such distinguishing marks, what to be careful for, even going down to things such as diet and mating behaviors. Most of the information was pretty much useless, but there were a few things he made note of.

Krabby were able to regenerate their pincers if they were lost in combat. This wasn't really too useful since he doubted Phos had the strength to knock out a pincer, but it might be relevant if the fight dragged on. Virgil also knew that the pincers were also used for balance purposes as well, so if Phos was able to concentrate her fire onto one of the pincers, it may cause balance issues for the pokemon during the battle. Krabby are also known to cover themselves in mud during battle, which will greatly reduce the effect of Phos' electric attacks. This meant that he would probably have to be aggressive in the early rounds, dealing as much damage as possible before the opponent can set up his defences.

"Alright Phos, I know this is your first real battle, but we are gonna have to try to end this fast." He flashed her a smile. Though he knew tynamo were not necessarily built for battle, he was confident in her. "The enemy's pincers are very strong and tough, as long as we stay back we can escape his most damaging attacks. Phos, let's start off with a thunder wave to cripple his movement. After that, follow with two charge beams. Try to focus the fire of both beams onto a single pincer if possible!"

Virgil hoped he didn't try anything too complicated. Phos was still very young and hasn't had much battle experience at all, but he also knew that if the fight went on for too long his chances of winning would decrease. He smiled again. "Let's do this."

*Non-mod note
Because he has no friends! Though he may/may not accept your cuddles that easily, as nice as I am sure they are :p
Also, I just want to note that Tynamo is just an electric type, not electric/water, as much as it would be useful in this round xD

If crustacean could roll their eyes and heave great sighs of impatience, this particular Krabby would've been a world class master at the art. The gentle affection you'd treated your sweet electric fish had been more than an enough of a prologue to the battle. But as you stood there staring, ticking away at your stores of information ont he rather common place water type, he found that he was almost at whit's end! Indeed, his limited patience had already begun to boil over and he rushed forward on his many legs in a sideways crawl, sand hissing as he made his fast blitz. What a far different approach than you with your musings on stratagems and could-do's...

Her black eyes watched the Krabby's fleet approach and though it seemed as if she'd be struck, she soon turned and twisted her pale body to flit out of the way. She wasn't only a verified sweetheart but gifted with an undeniable grace, stemming from her gift of levitation. Her adversary scuttled right by her, leaving her unharmed, but he hardly seemed phased. The rush hadn't been an attack at all- it was simply an aggressive way to get things moving. And it was clear that he was pleased and relieved when you finally gave a few commands to your comrade... he even clicked his overlarge pincers in approval!

The battle was finally on and he scuttled back, putting some distance between he and his foe. He moved from side to side, clearly prepared, clearly excited... but Phos was all attentive energy and slow flicks of her cute little tail. For an electric type, she seemed to be focusing quite well on this battle. Perhaps because it was her first, perhaps because she wanted to show you just how strong she was. But your victory wouldn't come as easily as all that. Already Krabby was scooping wet sand, digging his claws deep before, with a rush of action, simply throwing it everywhere (Mud Sport). He'd made it this far with more than a little luck, and he knew precisely what a fish like Tyanamo could do. Not all fish happen to be vegetarian...

Soon, heaps of dirt and mud were scattered across the battlefield and his own red-and-white body were smeared... but with his attention diverted he scarcely noticed, or had time to dodge, the Thunder Wave that was building along the spine of your little fish. She was glowing with energy that made the early morning seem so much brighter, like a little star, and on the pier the young girl clapped her hand quietly in delight. With a whip of energy Phos sent the bolt out and it hit the Krabby head on, Paralyzing him. Immediately he froze in place, fighting against his own joints... and giving her plenty of time to build up enough energy for a Charge Beam.

The ray, again, struck the little crustacean but was weakened by his armor of sand... going so far, this time, as to boost her Special Attack. But her adversary was slowly regaining control of his own body... his pincers slowly began to click shut, open, shut... and all of a sudden he was rushing towards her. This time there was no dodging and his powerful hands clamped around her in a perfect Vicegrip, dealing some decent damage. A good start to the match, with Phos clearly in the lead.

"Good job on that dodge Phos! You are doing well" Virgil praised as his pokemon managed to avoid the charge from the opposing krabby, though it seems that hitting her was never really the attempt. "Huh, I see.. this guy was just itchin for a fight. Well, lets show him what we got." The thunder wave and the charge beam seemed to both have hit their target, but it seemed he still had a lot of fight in him, managing to grip Phos' little body in those over-sized pincers of his.

"Heh.. a good start Phos. Let's keep our tempo going." Virgil smirked at the events that had just transpired. Though the crab landed a direct hit, it was clearly in the losing position for currently. Virgil could see as its appendages twitched in their shocked state, jumbling around it's speed and some functionality.

Virgil had a few options here to do here. Since Phos was still in relative close range to the enemy, he could have her hit him with a spark or a tackle attack. Even though the krabby had set up the field, electric attacks were still gonna do a good amount of damage. He could also opt to instead just blast more charge beams at the foe. There was no real need to attempt a spark attack, seeing as it was already paralyzed, and if Phos kept the charge beams going, they would only hit harder and harder in the long run. He decided on the latter.

"Alright Phos, let's try to get some space from this thing. See if you can make some distance and hit this guy with a couple more charge beams! Don't let the mud bother you, your electrical attacks are still sure to pack a punch!"

Distancing herself, Hos zipped through the air and turned to face her foe. As soon as she turned around she readied to fire her charged beam of pure electrical energy, but quickly met a face full of bubbles as the Krabby had slowly spit out towards your retreating Pokemon. The soapy bubbles slicked up your tiny Tynamo's body and caused it to start to become heavier, slowing down her speed through the air. Annoyed by the tiny bubble barrage, Hos released her Charge Beam that slammed straight into the Krabby. Normally it would have fried from such an attack, but thanks to the Mud Sport from before your attacks were weakened considerably.

Hos tried to shake the slimy feeling of the bubble spit from its body in hopes of getting its weight down to fly around easier, but the Krabby retaliated again with another set of bubbles. Paralysis didn't seem to slow it down enough as it was still able to attack this round fairly unrestricted. Hos again released her Charge Beam at the opponent who tried to defend against the on coming attack by putting up its pincers defensively. This of course failed horrible as the electric current traveled through its body and cause more damage.

Hos felt slightly invigorated after the last attack as the Charge Beam raised her Special attack one step further. Making her attacks do more damage in the near future. Hopefully enough to counter the Mud Sport.

Phos was looking slightly hurt from the last couple of attacks the crab had managed to dish out, but she obviously still had a lot of fight in her. She was young, but had a lot of spirit. That was good. She looked back at Virgil with a small look of worry on her face, but he quickly reassured her with a smile.

There wasn't really much else to say. Virgil didn't really have much option. He either ended this now or would just lose the first battle with Phos.
"Good job girl, let's finish this." He gave her a small nod. "two more charge beams. that oughta clear this fight up. Let's show this guy who is the boss around here."

I have never seen such an unfair fight in my entire life...oh wait, yes I have - many a time! Seriously, I'd have you down in front of the RSPCA for animal abuse - but I won't, because this is the world of Pokémon, and they wouldn't give a tiny flea's left eyebrow about this kind of action you are taking upon this poor Krabby.

And anyway, this battle was, as you say, nearly over. Although you had ordered two Charge Beams, only one was really needed from your EleFish Pokémon to end the resistance of this crustacean - all the power of electricity was on the side of Tynamo, and against a water Pokémon, that was all you really needed. One concentrated beam of electricity later, and the Krabby was on the floor, dazed, confused and out for the count!

As you glanced across back at the edge of the beach following your battle, you noticed that the girl had moved off from her position at the edge of the dock and was making her way towards you. From a distance, she had seemed to be quite a young girl - but on closer inspection, she appeared to be in her late teens more than anything. I'd say she's about 18. "Excuse me, have you seen a young man around here? I was supposed to meeting a guy here half an hour ago," the teen muttered, seemingly nervous about asking a complete stranger for help. I don't know whether that has dashed your hopes any - she was a rather cute albeit frail looking young woman, so I wouldn't be entirely surprised if you were swooning over her pretty looks.

Regardless, here you have one knocked out Krabby on the floor - I don't doubt for a second that you could easily catch him right now, so why not take the chance and throw the ball? Not to mention you have a damsel in distress here - surely you can find it in your heart to help her?

Phos cooed with excitement as she knocked out her first opponent. She quickly flitted her way towards her master and fluttered about excitedly. Virgil smiled at her and patted her with his gloved hand on top of her head after she calmed down enough to stay somewhat stationary. "You did good."

Virgil's attention shifted slightly towards the knocked out krabby, twitching on the ground, slightly cackling with trace amounts of electricity. It would be useful to have another pokemon around, but at the same time he felt this one would be a handful. It was just itching for a fight the moment it layed eyes on Virgil and Phos. An extra one to take care of meant more work for him too, but at the same time krabby had a decent amount of strength. Virgil could probably easily find a way to use it.

While weighing the pros and cons, it seemed the girl had approached him from the dock. Virgil was a little surprised to see someone approach him so easily, his demeanor usually intimidated people away from him, at least for the most part. It seems she was suppose to meet someone here. That would probably explain the looks of frustation from her earlier as she messed around with her poketech.

He remained silent even after the girl had asked her question. He didn't remember seeing anyone on the beach. He usually came here around this time because the place was always empty this early in the morning. This was usually the exact situation he wanted to avoid.

Phos quickly broke the silence with another sound of excitement. Virgil sighed a little, then smiled and pat her again. She meant well. Phos obviously did not have the same outlook on life that Virgil did. Virgil turned to the girl before finally answering the question. "I haven't seen anyone here. The place is usually empty during this time of day. Chances are, if he hasn't shown up yet, he probably wont." Virgil fumbled around in one of his many pockets as he dug out a pokeball, and tossed it at the knocked out Krabby, then turned and back to the girl and was about to speak again, "At this poi.."

Virgil was cut off as Phos flitted in front of him and frowned. He sighed again. He knew exactly what Phos was thinking. She wanted to help. "you are sometimes more trouble than you are worth..." he said quietly to Phos, smiling. He spoke to the girl again. "But if you want... I guess I can wait with you here for about ten minutes before I head off."

You're the only person on this beach aside from this young woman - were you really expecting her to ask someone else for advice who didn't exist? I mean, she could easily have tried pondering whether it was worth sticking around to wait for this person to turn up - but that was probably only going to lead to getting frustrated, you know? "I haven't seen anyone here. The place is usually empty during this time of day. Chances are, if he hasn't shown up yet, he probably won't. But if you want... I guess I can wait with you here for about ten minutes before I head off," you muttered, somewhat reluctantly on the orders of your Tynamo - you didn't want to be here, personally, considering you're probably as anti-social as an MMO player.

"Thank you for your kindness. I'll come with you to get your Pokémon healed," the young woman replied, pointing to your Tynamo and the newly caught Krabby within his PokéBall. This young man she was waiting for wasn't likely to turn up in the time it would take to travel a few metres, get your Pokémon healed and come back out onto the beach again - so it seemed like a logical suggestion, considering your Pokémon were somewhat unfit for battle at the moment. You reluctantly decided to take up the offer, and wandered off to the Pokémon Centre by the beach with this young woman and allowed your Pokémon to be taken and cured of their injuries by the local nurse. Pokémon Centres are 24 Hour services, after all!

However, as you left the Centre and returned to the beach, you noticed two young men walking down the beach, one with green hair, the other with blue. Glancing down at your 'companion', you noticed her eyes light up - it appears one of these fellows was the person she had been waiting for. "Lee! You're here!" the young woman nervously cheered, gently stepping forward towards the green haired young man.

However, as the man known as Lee glanced towards the woman, he immediately noticed you - and turned to his blue haired friend. "Told you Jemma was a slag, Neil - I show up twenty minutes late and she's already got another guy rolling off her arm," he grinned, completely blanking both 'Jemma' and you as they continued walking past. It seemed that whilst she had been waiting vehemently for him, he really didn't care about her. Moments later, he turned back to her, giving her the dirtiest look possible. "I never wanted to go out with you in the first place - I only said yes to get you to leave me alone," Lee muttered, turning his back upon her immediately as he continued to walk down the shore with his friend.

You're not going to stand for this, are you Virgil?

Virgil felt extremely awkward having another human being actually in his company. Heading to the pokemon center did make a lot of sense logically, so Virgil accepted. He didn't really have much to say as they walked. He wasn't really sure what he was suppose to say. Virgil was used to being alone. He never had much friends so he never really developed the skills to make "small talk."

They walked in silence for the few moments that it took to reach the center. After his pokemon were all healed up, Virgil turned to his new acquaintance and briefly mentioned that they should head back to the beach soon in the chance that the person she was looking for did show up.

Upon returning to the beach, it seemed that the guy she was looking for finally did show up. The following conversation between the two was rather.. disheartening. It made Virgil clench up a bit with anger. What did you get me into Phos.... It reminded him of when he was younger. How often he had been denied from others. He didn't like it. His fingers unconsciously curled up into a fist, tightening in the gloves he wore. Why am I getting so worked up? These people have nothing to do with me..

Ever since he was a child, Virgil was always quick to fight. It did not take much for him to start a brawl with someone, but those things usually involved him, not someone else. Something about the way these guys just brushed off another person, completely disregarding them, hit Virgil deep down somewhere. He didn't like them. No, it was more than dislike, he hated people like them. These were the type of people that Virgil had to deal with most of his life.

He glanced at Jemmy to see her reaction to the other person's words. He couldn't really see her face as she was standing a bit ahead of him, but he could assume what she was feeling. It was as if he was living through his childhood again. Virgil peeled the gloves off of his hands and slipped them into his pockets, revealing the scars he has accumulated from his younger years. He rolled up his sleeves, revealing more scars from the past, trophies from all of the brawls he had been in. Virgil tightened his hands into fists once more and quickly caught up with the two young men. "Hey, Lee was it?" he asked in a calm tone of voice when he got behind them. Before he could even see a reaction, he swung his fist at the guy.

That's one way of doing it, I guess. It almost goes without saying that it was one hell of a punch you landed upon this young man - so much so that he was lying on his back on the sandy beach! "Dude, what the hell?!" Lee bitterly yelled, wiping away a trickle of blood from his mouth - perhaps you hit him harder than intended? "I wasn't aware you were that devoted to that slag already - she's already had fifty guys in bed with her!" he continued, spewing more crap than a sewage works. Needless to say, the words he had decided to come out with were so wide of the mark that were it an archery competition, his arrow would be hitting a member of the crowd - it appeared as though Jemma was far too frail and prudish to be bedding anyone.

You contemplated landing another punch against the arrogant little git, grabbing hold of his shirt as you drew your arm back for a decent swing. However, just as you were about to land the blow, you felt something clutch your arm tightly. "Don't fight!" Jemma cried, her frail voice squeaking as she tried to prevent you from hurting Lee any more - it seemed she had never had to shout in her life. "Battle with Pokémon if you must - but don't hurt each other," she sobbed, dropping onto her knees with her hands over her eyes.

"Certainly," Lee muttered, grinning as he lifted two PokéBalls out of his pocket. "Come on Neil, let's take this punk apart," he stated, bringing his Pokémon out with about as much remorse as a serial killer - he really did not care anymore, he just wanted to get revenge for your attack upon him. Needless to say, he had been up to the Joukai Pass, as neither of his Pokémon were prevalent around Millenia Town - and more worryingly, they were rather stronger Pokémon than yours too.

"Um, alright..." Neil responded, somewhat less convinced about doing battle against a man who had just knocked a guy onto the ground with one punch. However, of the duo of 'friends' (if you can call them that), you could tell that Lee was the one who gave the orders - and Neil was the one who obeyed with little resistance. Call it peer pressure, if you like - I certainly am. Like Lee, it seemed as though Neil had been to the Joukai Pass - and again, his Pokémon were significantly stronger than yours.

In response, you brought out your newly caught Krabby - but like hell was this was going to be a fair fight. Two on four? Thankfully for you, a certain young lady noticed this imbalance of power. "I'll help you...if you like," she mumbled weakly, bringing out a further two Pokémon into the fray - perhaps she had ventured off to the calmer Route 3 for her Pokémon? Regardless, they weren't both native species, that was for sure.

Four on four battle. I don't know how much help Jemma will be - but you need to win this.

Phos... you got me into this mess... Virgil thought to himself, even though he was really partly to blame for letting his emotions get control of him. He sighed again, wanting nothing more than to just beat this young man's face in, but that probably wasn't that great of an idea. The beach area would start filling with people soon, it was getting to that point of day. The last thing he wanted was to become the center of attention.

Virgil glared at Neil as soon as they sent out their pokemon, his eyes shined with anger, but behind the anger there was also pity behind it. "Hah, and you actually follow this guy around? Is all he can do just talk? Does he ever shut that trap of his?" Virgil taunted as he tossed out his two pokemon casually. Phos and his newly captured krabby. It seemed Jemma wanted to help as well, sending out two more pokemon of her own.

"Hey." He motioned towards Jemma. Let's give these guys some hell. He said this in an attempt to encourage the young girl. He wasn't sure if she was prepared for this battle mentally, but he felt words would help her a bit.

Virgil snickered at the opposing duo, a look of disgust on his face as he picked his gloves out of his pocket and slipped them back on his hands, concealing his scarred hands once again. Their pokemon were definitely more powerful than his were, but Virgil did not show a sign of worry. His brain began scanning itself for information on the non-local pokemon, searching for anything that he can use to his advantage. His brain was basically a built in computer.

The only pokemon on the opposing side that he was really worried about was the ponyta. Virgil felt the others were much less of a threat, seeing as the two flying types could be fried by Mareep and Phos' electrical attack pretty easily. Though this also meant that the enemies had a distinct speed advantage with the pokemon they had chosen. Ponyta, and both birds were quite quick. He would have to get rid of this advantage. Though they were fast, Virgil's side also had a distince advantage of their own, let alone the type advantage. All of the enemy pokemon had to get close to do some real damage, while Virgil's side could stay back with their attacks.

"Hey, krabby, this is what you were itchin' for, right? A fight? Come on, let's see what you can really do here.
Virgil egged on his newly aquired companion, attempting to work it up. Judging from earlier this morning, he felt that this krabby wanted to do nothing more than sink it's pincers into something. Virgil was giving him that chance. Phos looked ever more excited for her second battle. She could hardly stay still in anticipation for a fight involving this many pokemon. Phos, calm down a bit. We are gonna need you to stay focused.

Virgil then glanced towards his battle partner. "Hey, if possible, I want your mareep to help focus down the same pokemon that my tynamo is targeting. If we take them out one at a time, the battle should go in our favor... Let's do this."

Virgil turned back to the battlefield, ready to give orders. "Alright Phos, same as last time, let's start this off with a thunderwave! Let's slow that ponyta down a bit! Keep your distance follow with a charge beam at the pidgey there! Krabby, if possible, I'm gonna need you to try to keep attackers off of Phos. I know you can take quite a beating. You're stronger than they are." Virgil shouted this to his Krabby, hoping it would work along with his personality. New pokemon did not always listen to their trainers right away, he hoped with this approach krabby would somewhat listen. "Let's try to keep them back with a couple of bubble attack! Let's keep our distance!

Nothing like a small battle to start the day, is there?

Only kidding, of course - this was one hell of a mess you found yourself in. "Hah, and you actually follow this guy around? Is all he can do just talk? Does he ever shut that trap of his?" you taunted, in a bid to irritate the second of the duo you had just come across, Neil. As you had suggested, all he ever did was follow his 'friend', Lee, around and help him fight his battles - though that probably explains why the pair of them were as strong as they were.

"Pot. Kettle. Black," Neil begrudgingly replied, pointing over to Jemma, who had barely picked herself up from the ground to assist you in your fight against two of the most idiotic people you would ever hope to meet. It was almost as if he was suggesting that you were following the young woman around, fighting her battles for her - just like he was fighting Lee's battles alongside him. However, you had performed your Taunt rather well upon the young man - it was clear he was riled up for this fight just as much as you and Lee were. With everyone just about ready to start this battle, orders began flying out all across the beach:

"This fight is between me and this punk! Stay out of it wench! Ponyta, torch that little sheep! Taillow, peck that tadpoles eyes out!"

"You asked for it punk! Pidgey, Blow that Krabby away! Sandshrew, target the Krabby with a Poison Sting, then Scratch that Tynamo!"

"Um...Tympole? Bubble please, if you would. Mareep, please use Thunder Shock on the Pidgey."

Yes, it's pretty clear which one was the odd one out in terms of being 'up' for this battle, wasn't it? Anyway, that's quite a decent amount of attacks, so let's stop talking and start battling! Mareep, surprisingly, landed the first blow, striking a perfectly aimed thundershock upon the tiny bird Pokémon that left a rather decent mark upon him. In retaliation (somewhat, Neil was focused on destroying you more than anything else), both Sandshrew and Pidgey worked in tandem, allowing the poison sting attack to be caught up in the gust as it struck your crustacean!

Lee's Pokémon, on the other hand, wanted rid of Jemma's Pokémon - quickly. Ponyta sprayed a small wave of fireballs at Mareep, whilst Taillow pecked away at Jemma's poor little Tympole! In response, both Krabby and Tympole unleashed a small wave of bubbles at the four opposing Pokémon (delivering small pockets of damage to them all), whilst Phos performed your words to the letter, paralyzing the fire horse Pokémon with ease! "Are you f***ing kidding me?! You're better than this Ponyta!" Lee yelled, watching as the fire horse slumped to the ground, seemingly unable to move his legs.

The second wave of attacks began once again with Jemma's Mareep - and much to her surprise, the second Thundershock landed perfectly onto the Pidgey, and clipped the tiny bird's wings! One down, three to go! "Wow, well done Mareep!" Jemma muttered sheepishly, somewhat unable to believe that her Pokémon had knocked out one of the opposing Pokémon. Meanwhile, Neil was, naturally, cursing the loss of his Pidgey - and withdrew the fainted Pokémon immediately. Sandshrew, however, continued the orders he had been given by the 'Ace' Trainer, charging forward to scratch at Phos - only for Krabby to take the attack on behalf of your EleFish Pokémon!

With Ponyta paralyzed and unable to move, Lee's Taillow continued the attack upon Jemma's Pokémon, dishing out another peck attack upon the Tympole. It seemed as though the young tadpole Pokémon was getting rather weary - but thankfully she looked as though she wasn't ready to give up just yet. As per the previous wave, she and your Krabby teamed up together to dish out another wave of bubbles - before Phos, who had lost her target, delivered a strong beam of electrical energy upon the Taillow instead! You noticed a trickle of electricity bouncing around the EleFish Pokémon - it seemed as though she was getting stronger!

Despite the difference in strength, this was proving to be a rather even contest - would you be able to come through it as the victor?
