Nyancat Awaaaay!

Journey | Computer Name: Maximillion “Maxi” Avery Gender: Male Age: 19 Profession: Trainer Appearance: Maximillion inherited a lot of things from his parents – from his mother he got his pale blue hair and from his father his tar-like black eyes. Used to pruning and preening, Maximillion’s hair is more often than not kept at a short-medium length, with his fringe swept across his forehead, stopping just above his thin blue eyebrows and kept in place with an insane amount of hairspray, locking it down and making it more like a helmet than hair. Standing at 5’10”, Maximillion has a lean frame, lacking in both muscle and fat. He has always been considered delicate by his friends and family, with skin so pale he appears almost sickly. Said skin is smooth and always well-moisturised, and lacks any blemishes in the form of scars or spots, though his cheeks are infested with freckles that really come to the forefront during the warmer, sunnier months. Used to a life of excessive wealth, Maximillion has developed expensive tastes - tastes that extend to his clothing. His commonly worn outfit starts with a simple white t-shirt, over which he wears a tight, dark blue zipper jacket without sleeves. This jacket has a pocket on the right breast and silvery metallic trim around the edges. The trim extends into the jacket, creating a curling, viney pattern over the dark blue material. While his arms are bare, he wears a pair of large dark blue fingerless gloves, with silvery buckles on the backs of each. Around his waist he wears a black leather belt with yet another silver buckle, threaded through the loops of a pair of black pants, decorated with a band of silver around the right knee and yet another around the ankle of the same leg. The shoes he wears are simplistic – the same dark blue as his jacket, with a black sole, while he most often wears ankle-high white socks. He also wears a black satchel slung diagonally across his body, from his left shoulder, with the bag clinging to his right hip. This satchel is decorated with a dark blue pokeball symbol outlined with silver. Trainer Biography: Cerulean City had never been especially well known for its high-society, so when the one of the illustrious and “noble” familes of Kanto decided to set up shop there several generations ago, they went largely unnoticed. Locked away in their manor on the outskits of Cerulean City, they didn’t often mingle with the common folk, more often than not going to the larger cities in Kanto to socialize. Several generations down the line, Maximillion was born into this family – a family of secrets and excess. Taught from a young age that the people in Cerulean were not to be mingled with, he grew up mostly alone, only socializing with the stuck-up and spoilt children of his parent’s friends. Though he had very few people skills, the young Maximillion would often be enthralled with stories on the TV of the world just outside his window – the city of Cerulean was famous over Kanto for its connection to water Pokemon, some of whom were featured on various shows, each looking more beautiful and interesting than the last. When he asked his parents of the world of Pokemon, he was often shot down, told that while he lived under his parents roof he would not see a Pokemon. And this was his life, for many years – he was privately educated, taught about everything he needed to know, pushed to his limits academically. He was also forced to undertake one sport, which given his location, could only have been swimming. The enormous pool in the house was only ever used by him and his swimming instructer, where she forced him to do lap after lap – even without much muscle growth, he became an extremely strong swimmer with a large lung capacity. But his life still felt empty. Living that way for many years, he finally grew bored – he wanted to see the world, specifically the world of Pokemon. It wasn’t until he turned 18 that he initiated his plan to escape his parents – a plan that involved him telling his parents that he didn’t plan to take over whatever business it was that had kept the Avery family in its millions for so long. That pretty much settled it for him, and after several months of arguments, Maximillion left his house (or rather, was kicked out) at the age of 19. Having seen a TV segment on the region known as Alternia, he’d used the last portion of money his parents gave him to book a ticket on a ferry to Alternia. The ferry left from Vermillion City several days later, and with nothing but a few basic supplies and changes of clothes stuffed in his satchel, Maximillion set off on his Pokemon adventure. Personality: Maximillion lived a sheltered life in Cerulean City – his friends were carefully selected by his overbearing parents, and were often the dullest of the dull, though since they were all Maximillion had to play with he developed a good rapport with the often dull though always refined upper classes. His social interactions have been corrupted by his parents, with the idea of “class” imbedded into his psyche so deeply that, even though he knows it’s wrong, he can’t help but judge people instantly on which class he assumes they belong to. While he looks down on most, he certainly doesn’t crave the company of more refined people – if anything he finds people of the baser variety far more exhilarating. With Pokemon, Maximillion takes a very limited view. He only likes water types, and has a distinct distaste for grass type Pokemon – he sees grass type pokemon as the lowest of the low, partially because of their effectiveness against water types, but also because he feels plants should stay rooted and not wander around. Maximillion is so stubborn that he will refuse to catch any Pokemon that is not a water or at least ice type in some capacity, even going as far as refusing free Pokemon because they are of the “wrong type”. However, Maximillion is affectionate towards water Pokemon of any type, and as a strong swimmer and diver he feels at home in a body of water of any size. When battle is concerned, he takes a very theatrical view – paying homage to his newly-found and still infantine desire to become a world-famous trainer. He likes moves that are big, over stated and good looking, and tries his hardest to maintain some level of class and decorum during battle. He sees losing as something so ugly that he would even offer someone money to throw the fight, though since moving to Alternia he has no money, given that all the money he was surrounded by in his childhood belonged to his parents and not him.
