Sunset
Clear skies

Ah what a beautiful night on the harbour. You wouldn't get something like this in Sinnoh, eh? Well, perhaps the beauty of Mount Coronet could compare, but it would be a stretch. These are the nights to live for, these are the moments to cherish. This moment... This moment is something to remember. "GET OUT OF MY WAY!!!!" Suddenly a young man, no older than yourself, just dashed by you, almost knocking you over. He was quickly followed by a young cop, who, despite his slim figure, was not in the best shape. Well that certainly ruined the mood. See, you knew stopping to look at the sunset was a bad idea, but noooooo you just had to get a glimpse of that wonderful ball of fire in the sky as it dropped below the horizon.

Curiosity getting the better of you, you turned to watch the chase go on. The young man had all but disappeared, and the cop was looking around frantically. You were the only one on the pier at this time besides the sailors, but they were all busy. This means you're the only witness. Goodie. The young cop jogged over to you, completely out of breath. Upon getting a closer look you noticed he was just a kid! Couldn't be any more than 16, maybe 17. Must be a rookie. "Ma'am...did you see...a man.....with a bag?" He spoke to you between pants of breath, with his hands on his knees. Now that he mentioned it, the guy he was chasing did have a bag on him. You didn't notice before because it seemed so natural, but yeah he totally had a brown satchel slung over his shoulder! Why would that be important?

"That man stole that package from a delivery boy. It's a very important piece of hardware sent to the Seaside Laboratories. If you find that man please let me know." The kid then walked off to look for the young thief. Was he telling the truth? I mean cops are pigs, right? They claim to new on the side of "justice" which usually means on the side of "boredom" so he's probably just making some crap up to mess with you. The guy probably stole his doughnut or something. Just then, you got an email on your Poketch. It seems that one of your fellow messengers had a package stolen, and wouldn't you know it, it was going to Seaside Laboratories! That's just too strange.

"Hssst!" Huh? What was that? You looked around for a bit before seeing the young thief from before. He was standing on the roof of one of the buildings behind you! Once you locked eyes he beckoned you over. What will you do? The young cop is on the other side of the harbour, but he'd probably hear you if you yelled for him. Or will you trust the stranger on the roof? He's got to have some serious skills if he made it up there.

Or you could do none of the above and ignore this whole scenario. Cops will be cops, robbers will be robbers. Hey, if that idiot messenger got the package stolen from them then maybe they'll be fired. More jobs for you, right? Besides, I think I see a few aquatic Pokemon out on the water. Yeah, it looks like a Bidoof, a Goldeen, and a Psyduck all chilling along the beach. Maybe you could say hi to them, perhaps a battle or something. Or maybe just friends for Bramble. As Silas, a fellow voice from the sky would say, the world is your :cloyster , so get explorin'!

Lovely. One second, Murasaki was enjoying a quiet night on the harbor....and the next she was hunched over trying to peel seventeen pounds of Pokemon off her back. The poor Arkisu reacted to the frightening disturbance as she normally would have in the wild - she found something safe to climb, getting away from danger. Unfortunately, that ended up being Murasaki, and in her flight-or-fight reaction, she was not scaling her trainer with any consideration of the girl NOT being a tree and thus not built for such things.

OW! The girl winced as Bramble's sharp claws poked through her heavy jacket. Yep, definitely gotta train her out of THIS. "Easy, Bramble," she gasped, "S'okay. Come on, get down." The girl reached back and managed to unhook one rather sharp claw that was digging into her shoulder. "They're gone. They're not going to hurt you."

Bramble was having none of it. "ARK!" she squealed, her pitch rising as she continued her chattering bark, gazing in the direction in which the two men were gone. The Arkisu was something of a drama queen, Saki reflected as she untangled the Pokemon from her jacket and finally got her back on the ground. But then, not that she could blame her little friend in this case. They'd nearly gotten run over by what appeared to be a thief.

A thief...who was now hailing her? She heard that attention-grabbing hiss between expletives from her Pokemon. Tilting her head slightly she glanced up at the guy, and frowned. What's his game, she mused, [/i]and how'd he get up there?[/i] "Bram," she muttered. "Hush a sec, would you? There he is."

The Arkisu's rant tapered off. Ah! Saki was giving her a proper focus for her anger. "Kisssssu," the little squirrel hissed as she followed her trainer's gaze, tail fluffed in outrage.

Murasaki considered, just for a moment, calling the cops. But then No...there's no way that cop could catch him up there. And by the time the cop got back here he'd be gone anyway.

She sighed. Murasaki Jun had no love for cops, but she disliked thieves more. Especially a thief that had stolen from a fellow messenger. One lost package meant less jobs in the future, after all..."Guess it's up to me, then," the aqua-haired girl said softly. And as Bramble sprang to attention, she shook her head. "No, hon. That does not include you. Not yet." She unhooked a pokeball from her belt, and recalled the little squirrel. Maybe after Bramble had had a moment to calm down she might let the Arkisu out, but a pissed off Pokemon was *not* a good wingman for what she was about to do.

Glancing around once more to make sure everything was clear, she waved in a 'yes, what?' sort of indication. "Yes, he's gone, you can come down now." And maybe I can get that package back to the right messenger without too much work.
