Journey | Computer Name: Murasaki Jun Gender: Female Age: 19 Profession: Trainer and parkour-running messenger. Appearance: ![]() A fairly exotic-looking young woman, Murasaki reaches a height of five foot five. Her wavy aqua hair is trimmed in an angular bob with the longest strands just brushing her shoulders. Her naturally parted bangs, much to her dismay, are fairly unruly. No matter how she attempts to keep them curled and neatly shaped, a few locks on the right refuse to keep their shape and go limp, partially obscuring one of her wide, slightly tilted blue eyes. Her nose is long and thin and the left side of her lips seems to always be quirked up slightly in the beginnings of a know-it-all smirk. She's built like a dancer or long distance runner, long and lean with little in the way of curves to flaunt her femininity. Saki tends to dress for comfort as her job really doesn't allow for fancy stuff. Give her a leather jacket tough enough to stand up to the claws of her Pokemon, a t-shirt, cargo or yoga pants, and sneakers any day. Easier to move around in, to be sure. Trainer Biography: The daughter of a rather famous Pokemon Coordinator in Sinnoh, Murasaki's mother Asagi Jun honestly thought it was a great idea to give her daughter a rare and unusual name. All the easier to stand out in the future when she'd be showing off beautiful Pokemon to the judges! Unfortunately, all Saki's name did was make her stand out looooooong before she even had a Pokemon to show off...and it wasn't like Saki wanted to be a Coordinator anyway. She and her mother had many heartfelt discussions about this (translation: screaming till their faces turned blue, when Saki was old enough to actually say no and be able to explain why). For the first few years of her life, Murasaki was constantly on the move as they traveled across Sinnoh to accommodate her mother's Contest career, but when she got older, Saki begged for something more constant. The grades Murasaki was bringing each semester convinced her mother that a life on the road was not healthy for her little girl, and so Asagi packed her off to live with her aunt in Millenia City, far across the ocean in Alternia. This was more to Saki's liking; she was only the 'new kid' at the school for a brief period of time and gained a few friends and plenty of acquaintances. Some of those friends introduced her to her new hobby – parkour, which the fearless girl took to like a Ducklett to water. It ended up being a great skill to have when she picked up a part time job as a messenger in order to earn money....and got her into several spots of trouble when she went running and jumping where the law didn't allow. It was during her junior year that she encountered her first Pokemon companion; while she was pausing to rest in the middle of a delivery, an Arkisu jumped in her bag and made off with one of her smaller parcels. This prompted one of the wildest chases Saki had ever been on, and her parkour abilities were pushed to their limits trying to follow the little thief across half the city. By the time she finally caught up with the thing, she had scrapes and scars in places she didn't even know she had, and the Arkisu was so impressed by her efforts that she refused to abandon her newfound human companion. Bramble (the name she gave the little squirrel) accompanied her everywhere she went from then on. After graduation, Saki had little in the way of prospects and not much desire to go off to college for another round of education, so she continued to work as a messenger, and is currently training Bramble with the intent of beginning a Pokemon journey of her own. Seeing the world is definitely a way to keep from spinning her wheels. Personality: Murasaki is a rebel without a cause. This free spirit quite often instinctively fights authority – and authority will almost always win, but she'll give it one heck of a tussle before it's over. She tests her limits, but most of the time she's aware of when she's going too far. She doesn't want to totally piss people off, or get herself killed. But that sometimes happens... Saki is a woman that follows her heart in all things and lives for the moment. In fact, she seems to be doing her very best to fit as many experiences and sensations into her life as she possibly can, and trust to her luck to get her safely through the most dangerous ones. Forget the concept of a bucket list – this fearless one keeps that bucket as empty as possible. One of the few things that can eventually frustrate her is when people try to make her do something or behave in a certain way. Freedom is /very/ important to Murasaki and she doesn't want that taken away. If something is really important she will do it for her own reasons, rather than the ones given by the one in authority. While she's warm and friendly with others, Saki doesn't let anyone get too close, hiding the aloofness from them as best as she can behind a veil of cheerful neutrality. After all, ties mean a loss of freedom, and Murasaki cannot be tied down. She has few friends, but makes many acquaintances. In particular, she isn't very fond of extended physical contact. A pat on the shoulder or handshake is okay, but long hugs from people not considered close friends or family are not...and even her friends and family have sensed her 'done now, let me go, please' aspect to her hugs with them. The problem is that these attempts never quite seem to really work: although Saki does manage to keep certain individuals at arms length in the way she intends, her need of people allows the occasional person to sneak past her defenses. That leaves her stumbling and trying to recapture her equilibrium.
