Millenia Town~ Outside The Pokemon Center

Welcome to Alternia young one! You had made it to Millenia in a timely fashion, and hastily made your way away from the ship, in case the old man was looking for you or something. You have to remember to be careful, because you're on your own now, and that there are some bad bad people in Alternia. Still, Millenia is a rather safe town, and police have things under control most of the time. I'm sure security told a nearby officer to watch the old man as well; they don't take kindly to weirdo scam artists.

But weren't you a sort of scam artist yourself? At the very least you stole the man's Pokemon egg. Of course, I wouldn't want that horrible person to have a Pokemon in the first place, but he was the victim here. Did you not feel bad at all? Obviously not, since you immediately decided to journey with the Gastly contained in the egg. You didn't have much experience with her, but Gastly was a reliable Pokemon, if a little prankster.

You were standing just outside the Pokemon Center. It was midday, and people were walking through the streets. None looked particularly happy; in fact, most were locked in a permanent worried expression. Most of the conversation between the citizens was uninteresting, but you caught wind of why people were so worried: there was a recent hurricane. The Pokemon Center was the only public building with full power, and they were running on generators in back of the Center. Apparently a volunteer crew was on the beach, cleaning up debris and rescuing Pokemon. Funny that you didn't see that when you got off the boat, huh?

Anyway, you had several options. It's possible that if you go help out the volunteer group, you can get some sort of reward. Apparently a sign-up for the next group is in the Pokemon Center. There were other options that you could decide for yourself too. Besides, what would a little thief like yourself be doing helping out people?

"Ah, feels good to be free," Tyson said. He stood around observing the surrounding area, trying to get a feel for things. This was a new place after all, and it's only normal to be curious about your surroundings, right? He listened to surrounding conversations, but most of them went in one ear and out the other. At the sound of the word 'volunteer' he focused his ears. He overheard a group of people talking about a past hurricane. Why didn't I hear anything about a hurricane? Tyson thought to himself. He had a point, though. You'd think if an area had a hurricane hit, the people on their way would hear something about it at the least. Despite this thought, this was the first time he heard anything about it.
Now he was forced to ask himself if he was willing to volunteer. After a few minutes of pondering the internal question, he came to a conclusion. He figured he should try to blind in as well as possible, and being one of a select few volunteers probably isn't the best way to fit in at the moment. He decided to continue walking through town. He hoped to get a good view of the sights, and to get a look at a few Pokémon as well. Tyson hadn't seen many Pokémon up to this point. His Gastly was the first one of it's kind he'd ever laid eyes on. Sure, he'd read about it, but he'd never physically seen one.
After standing around for a few more minutes, he figured he'd been in one spot for far too long. He closed his eyes, and spun around until he couldn't tell which direction he was facing. He opened eyes and began walking in that direction, conveniently straight away from the Pokémon center.
