Splintering this off as a separate submission now and before anything else has been accepted because I don't think anyone would stand against it. Admins can bump the Value/Rarity if they like; that's why it's "Suggested". Everything else, I'd prefer to stay as is, but do as you will.

Basic Information:

Name: Fossil Egg
Item Sprite: Posted Image
Optional Image:

Item Information:

Weight: 22 lbs.
Height: 19"
Effects: A fossilized egg. Revives into a normal egg, which hatches into a random fossil pokemon. [RANDOM: Omanyte, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Lileep, Anorith, Cranidos, Shieldon, Tirtouga, Archen, Quilike, Sablice, Zephteryx] (8% chance of any single pokemon). Revived Egg takes the standard 20 Gold Rare posts to hatch.
Suggested Value: $3000 The randomness and added delay docks the value significantly, but it's still a pretty penny. Sold at Silver Reef Mine Goods.
Suggested Rarity: Admin +

Seeing as you listed only the Fossils that are $4500+ and like buying a normal fossil, it guarantees a Gold Rare. No, not for only $3000. Castform is Rare now and cost about that much. Its gunna have to be around $4000+.

And Hatching doesn't really justify it as you still need to pay to revive the Fossil and sport your own Pokeball which can raise the price of reviving the fossil a decent amount. And to make more through breeding you are still put through the hatching process so its kinda a moot argument.

Value of a RANDOM pokemon is still less than a choice pokemon. I gave it a good gap at $3000; still a good bit higher than Umod+ Item range ($1000-$2000). I was feeling that if it was too close, no one would want to buy one and it'd only show up as a random admin quest drop. You have no problem with the item idea though, just the suggested price? $3500 is still good, $4000+ feels like it's just getting to close to the choice price.

Just a question, if this hatches in to a fossil that needs to be revived, the idea of it seems really stupid... The process of hatching out of an egg isn't the egg magically cracking open, something needs to be alive in it to hatch out... A dead fossil that needs to be revived wouldn't be able to do that...

You take the Fossil Egg to Zaroff to revive into an Egg with one of the 12 listed as a possible random hatch.

This idea isn't half bad. Credit where it's due, Bcad.

However, if you finally get an idea that is universally liked, you need to start listening to the changes people advise you/ask you to make. $4000 is still cheaper than $4500.

Ah, I didn't think of it like that. Yes, I see, strike my comment then.

Hmm... $4000 does seem a bit steep. But still, it'd be a little better than $4500 for a regular fossil. I honestly don't think that a randomized fossil is worth only $500 less than a choice one (I'd just spend the extra page or so getting some money for the choice), but $1500 less is certainly too wide a gap. Would $3750 still be a good number?

I also agree that although gold rare, the fact is with a fossil you buy, you get the choice, with an Egg you don't which does shave off some merit. I'd say anywhere between 3500 and 4000 is the best choice. Also great idea, you'd think there would be fossilised eggs somewhere in the world. =)

It seems like everyone that's posted here likes the idea. The only point of contention is what the sell price should be. Since the sell price will ultimately be set by uMod + or just Admins (I'm not sure which), I'd like to move that we ljust get the approvals of this as an item now so it may go to a vote and leave it to the upper staff to set the price.
