Hydroil Basic Information:Pokémon Name: Hydroil [Hydra + petrol + oil] Pokémon Sprite:Optional Image:images Bright glowing yellow seahorse, particularly bright on the eyes and tail. With some flaming stone leaf like structures protruding from it, black oily looking chest area and detail like a petrol pump around the mouth. Species Information:Pokémon Species: Lava Horse Gender Ratio: 50% | 50% Weight: 39.2lbs Height: 2'07" Type: Abilities: Flame Body | Sniper Hidden Ability: White Smoke Special Abilities: Body Glow Species Description:Species History:Hydroil are largely found swimming underground, in pools of liquid magma, oil deposits, boiling hot geysers, etc. The pokemon is a heat-loving thermophile that functions better in hotter environments. They are believed to directly devour heat itself as their source of internal energy and to burn fuel oils inside their body keeping flames of well over 2700 degrees burning. This fire puts off a lot of light and heat through their oily, thin scales that make up their skin; making the pokemon glow a bright gold. Whenever, the pokemon surfaces, thick clouds of toxic smog from it's internal burner's fumes fill throughout the area; they are considered one of the major reasons for toxic smog and ash rising out of volcanoes. The range of Hydroil is heavily limited; they cannot leave the pool in which they were born. For this reason, seeing the pokemon above ground is a sure sign that a volcanic eruption will be soon or a pool of raw petroleum is close to the surface prime for digging. They are most common, however, inside currently active volcanoes and their ranges as the active lava flows and geysers form rivers for them to travel through. Visitors to Flare Mountain remark at the ease these pokemon have in swimming up and down the side of the mountain through the lava. Making their own fuel allows them to burn their fires much hotter; in excess of 18,000 degrees; this vastly increases their range by making them able to melt the earth itself in order to be able to swim in the resulting lava. The toxic fuel oil they produce in their bodies perforates their skin, giving a dark murky appearance. If a large group of them live in one area for a while, a sizable oil deposit will be left sealed in the rock, formed by the lava hardening when they leave. Lampuzin are well known for this oil and their light giving abilities and are recommended as guides to explore the interior of caverns for this reason. The oil slowly oozing from their skin is very toxic, but may be preserved to use as fuel. Unlike their pre-evolution, they don't always produce smog just from being in the area, though when they use it to attack, they can easily fill large areas up with enough poison to kill an African elephant. This along with their pitted coral-like skin make some believe they are a distant cousin of Weezing. They can surface anywhere, but tend to be found in volcanic areas and rough terrain, the hotter climates of those areas is more agreeable for them to come to the surface.
