You are teleported into a vast rainforest. Disoriented by teleportation, cannot discern where this location is or if it exists at all. The Abra that brought you here disappears before you could even glimpse it. Behind you, there is a sheer stone wall, made of polished vein quartz bricks stacked seemingly without mortar; the style looked centuries old; but there wasn't a single crack in the masonry; not a blemish for you to grasp with your fingers to attempt to surmount the twenty foot high barrier. If you had checked your pokeballs; you would have noticed a strange interference was keeping you from opening them; you were alone here. Fortunately, the only Pokemon you can see nearby are Chatot flying in between the treetops; seemingly harmless if not completely so. The forest and the wall seem to extend endlessly to the left and right of you, but before you is a path made of what appears to be polished gemstones and gold bricks. Some in this situation might wonder if they had died and went to heaven; though the scorching heat of the jungle sun was likely to ground your thoughts.

Following the only obvious path, you come into a clearing. From this point, you can see that the path turns into a set of golden stairs up what appears to be golden mountain or pyramid. Atop the stairs stood what appeared to be a Greek style temple; with Sigilyph standing vigil; and a dense fog surrounding. Your pokeballs still wouldn't work if you tried them; additionally, your Poketch was completely non-functional, only making staticky noises should you attempt to use it. Getting closer to the golden pyramid; you see larger numbers of Sigilyph patrolling five steppes up the sides; the base and the entrances. Gems sticking through the sides of the monolith sparkle in the sunlight. It seemed you had found El Dorado or Shangra-La or something of the sort. Edging slowly up the massive stairs; the Sigilyph appear to pay you no mind. They somehow knew that you were supposed to be here; though what exactly this place was being guarded from remained a mystery. Finally reaching the top, a couple hundred yards above where you started and out of breath from the intensive climb; you are greeted by a cooling breeze being far enough past the canopy to feel winds. If you looked back down on the forest you could see the four corners of the wall, which was over a mile across. Several Tropius were in jungles below and perhaps a good number of smaller pokemon that only appear as rustles from this height. The temple itself had nine columns across the front and a sculpture of Uxie, Mesprit and Celebi looking down on you.

When you attempt to enter the structure; a Sigilyph stops you. You are telepathically informed that you may not enter the temple unless you give all your possessions to the psychic pokemon; including clothing and put on a standard uniform. A simple, white, one piece acolyte's toga appeared before you. "No one is here to see you change and I will keep your possessions in safe keeping until your business is done. Do not worry; you are in no danger as long as you cooperate and no, you cannot leave until you participate inside. We've been expecting you." With that the Pokemon disappears. After glancing around nervously for a few moments and realizing you had no choice; you do as the psychic told you and switch into the simple toga. The second you've changed the Sigilyph reappears, informs you that you may enter and disappears with your possessions.

As you walk into the temple, you find yourself in a huge room; the entire temple was made up with what appeared to be one large pokemon stadium, almost identical to the regulation ones found in pokemon gyms. Columns completely surrounded a square shaped field which was naught but a flat marble surface. You approach the edge of the battle area; seeing what is obviously a place for a trainer to stand. To your left and right are huge marble statues of legendary pokemon; large enough to actually be built to scale. To one side of the battling area, near the center line; stood a thin scrawny man, with long black hair and a more ornate purple toga with gold trim. His face completely obscured by his hair very little was clear about this mysterious stranger. Next to him was what appeared to be a Mayan Calender wheel, on some sort of spinner; it's use a complete mystery. Directly across from you stood another trainer who appeared to be just as alarmed and confused by his present surroundings as you were; was this to be your opponent? With what were you to battle, since pokeballs didn't work here and your balls had been taken by Sigilyph? Who was this stranger? Where were you? All this and more soon.

[I need two combatants; preferably an OOC clone of one of your characters; I will not control your characters any more I just had to set the battle/situation up to draw people in.]

The cold-hearted merciless young man looked around and was not pleased with where he had landed himself. Remy "Thorn" Dupris had spent countless hours upon hours working his way to get here for motives known only to him, only to find himself stuck. Thorn looked with disgust at the clothes set in front of him. It appeared that he had no choice. The only way out was to play the demented little game and figure out the rest later. He changed intot he tacky robe and put his clothes down as the Sigilyph came back. He glared at it, his eyes pouring out all the malice in his heart, and spoke to it.

"I'll go along with this only because I have no choice, but mark my words. If I find so much as a tear on those clothes, or find that my Pokemon are mysteriously 'missing', the only flying you'll be doing will be flapping your wings around the clouds in heaven after I've torn each and every one of your feathers from your dead carcass."

Thorn was in a lousy mood. He hated being bossed around, for he was a superior specimen. He followed the path wordlessly, his face now empty of emotion after the disgust and malice seethed out in his confrontation with the Psychic Pokemon. He now found himself in a room that looked markedly familiar... like one of those blasted Pokemon gyms that the weakling trainers yearned to be part of. Then he saw the old man, wearing similarly tacky clothes, and sighed. Clearly some stupid ordeal was planned and of course Thorn had no real idea what he was getting himself into. Perfect.

Jolter barely broke a sweat climbing to the top of the stairs. She turned and looked out over the forest, her BDUs now making her stick out like a sore thumb out in front of the white, pristine temple. She turned and saw the psychic type pop out from nowhere. Nothing really surprised her, but she shrugged it off. "Tch. Hey... Whatever you say, alright? Just don't hurt my team, and don't get rid of my clothes, kay? Oh!! And DON'T lose my Thunder Badge!!" Jolter started to strip as she walked towards the togas and grecian dresses. She sure as hell couldn't wear the toga... Her bust would be well over exposed. She changed quickly, regardless, and made her way into the temple.

She was actually impressed. Someone actually took the time to build this place and sculpt it to his or her exact desires. "Now this is pretty bad-assed..." Jolter walked about, looking around at her surroundings. She looked over at the young man that seemed to have come in some time before her. He was kinda cute. "Yo! Hey there stranger." Jolter smiled slightly and waved. "What's up?" Yes, Jolter was kind of loud. She had taken her hair down and actually looked like she could have been from Greece. But this guy in front of her? He probably looked good in anything he wore.

Before much could be said between the two of you, the strange figure spoke. His voice was uncharacteristically deep for one of his small frame and echoed throughout the chamber. "Greetings!" he barked, with a sly tint of sadistic enjoyment in his voice. "You have been chosen by the gods for this great test of mental ability, determination and adaptation to circumstances that you are not accustomed to. If you all are ready, then let's begin." Not giving you enough time to respond, he takes a few steps over to the front of the strange wheel. He stares at it strongly for a second and appears to whisper something under his breath. After a couple seconds the wheel begins to spin itself. As it does six progressively smaller wheels pop out of the center looking something between a top and a drill bit, though each "layer" rotated in the opposite direction than the last. He places his palm in front of him and pushes in the dials, each makes a loud click as at locks. On the last loud slam, nine stone slates pop out of the ground in front of Thorn. He repeats the process and Jolter finds herself surrounded with similar stones.

The center slate was the same white color as the structure, in the center of it laid six stone spheres. These stones were the same size and shape as pokeballs, though looked like polished marble, well marbles. Upon each surface was etched the image of a pokemon, implying that these were indeed some form of strange ancient pokeball. As for the other eight places, each was a different color and was completely covered in some ancient writing that was completely indecipherable to your eyes; though on top there were familiar symbols representing elemental types, such as:

:fire :water :electric

"In front of you lie six pokemon and eight of the sixteen plates of Arceus." the thin man explained. "The plates amplify moves of a single type for the pokemon that last touched them. In case you haven't figured it out yet, the challenge is a simple battle, with the pokemon we provided. Our apologies for removing all your items, but we wish that nothing other than what is provided be used in this battle. Each of the pokemon before you knows every last move that pokemon can know." Around this time a strange pokemon appeared in the center of the room.

:mew

"This includes moves that are taught by what you would call Technical Machines. You can use all these techniques except the Technical moves, of which you are restricted to two on each pokemon. My associate will telepathically inform you on each pokemon's moveset and special abilities. You must select three of these six pokemon and two Technical moves each in your conversation with her. She will use her psychic abilities to Imprison all except the selected TM moves. Her power also includes switching the pokemon to it's Dream World ability, if you so wish. When you have decided these things, return three of the pokemon to the white pedestal, which will return them to the machine and place the other three each upon a different one of the colored stones in front of you. This will amplify moves of that type from that Pokemon. All three pokemon will be sent out at once, standard 3v3 rules apply. If you do not understand, my associate can clarify." after the long winded explanation the strange man stepped back to right at the sideline ready to perform referee on the upcoming match. "I wish you luck Mr. Dupris, Ms. Surge. May the best person win." he closed.

The mysterious psychic pokemon immediately opened a channel of communication with you, explaining the full capabilities of each pokemon as you touched their balls. The man spoke of gods, given how powerful this creature was, perhaps "she" was one of them. She wouldn't answer any questions that didn't involve the upcoming battle though so you'll have to wait and see.

OOC: You each have PM's with the specifics; respond with your choices. Do not post again until I send confirmation that I got PMs from both of you.

As you laid down the last pokemon with your decisions made through discussion with the mysterious psychic; the pokemon let off pulses towards each of the balls locking all but the selected TM's. The center pedestal, with the three unused pokeballs, sank back into the floor. The psychic set up extremely powerful barriers to keep you from being harmed by and interfering with the battle, then disappeared. Your first pokemon choices were released simultaneously, not by your own action, but by some ancient force or psychic power. "Round 1. Alakazam vs. Electrode." The mysterious announcer called out, before your was your choice of pokemon with the other across from you. Time to battle.

OOC: Post order is alternating. Thorn is first move this turn; Jolteon is first next turn etc.
As a pre-warning, strategy matters most here.

Thorn looked over at the girl and smiled an empty, yet slighty tempting smile. Why is it that he always seemed to lure young women to him during important missions? At least this one seemed to fill out the Grecian dress she was sporting. At first, Thorn assumed that she was part of the whole setup, but it became perfectly clear that she was to be his opponent in some type of match. Thorn hadn't expected to be a match, but the punishment for coming back emptyhanded and without a a complete report would be a death sentence. The legendary Mew gave him the instructions. The Pokemon hadn't introduced itself, but Thorn knew the legends of the Kanto region better than anyone else. He recognized the Pokemon without a shadow of a doubt.

The pillars shot up before he could respond. Clearly they each represented a Pokemon. Thorn selected what he considered to be a good team, but he was still worried. He hadn't trained them himself, so there was no telling how weak they were. Either way, if he had to crush this little flower before he could investigate the temple further, then so be it. As the Pokemon magically materialized in front of him, it revealed the Alakazam he chose. Knowing the prowess for Telepathy, he whistled so the Psychic type turned around, and lifted a finger to his temple.

Spoiler: click to toggle

After that, he winked roguishly at the girl in front of him, the coldness in his eyes and heart never reaching above Absolute Zero.

"Let's start this off with a punch then, shall we? Three Psycho Cuts, Alakazam!!"
