Dominic Glaze's Journey
Topic Started: Aug 4 2011, 07:24 PM (337 Views)
Dominic Glaze

Taken aback by the unwarranted rudeness of the young woman, Dominic stepped back out of her way. Well she was certainly in a hurry or in a bad mood or both. Dominic just let it slide there was no real reason to confront her; it wasn’t worth his time either. But then what happened next astounded him. She slapped right across the face. Dominic’s cheek turned bright red against his normally pale skin. He grunted in pain and held his cheek in pain.

“What the hell was that for?” he asked her, but was quickly answered by her rant about how much of “prick” he was, how the boy had just met had been hospitalized until recently and that Dominic’s battle was the first battle he had ever seen. Dominic did feel a bit of remorse, just a bit though, but he was not going to let this cute, but annoying, woman make wild accusations about his character without defending himself.

“Well,” Dominic took a moment for a dramatic pause, “I think it is unfair of you to judge my actions that would with the prior knowledge you just informed me of. Given those circumstances, I don’t believe my behavior to be all too inappropriate. I merely corrected his wrong assumptions of my naivety of the weather of Shimo City and the location of the Pokemon center. If this boy wishes to make friends, true friends not ones born out of pity and sympathy for his plights, he should not go about assuming the intelligence of those around him. Even those who do not live within the boundaries of Shimo City know of its constant snowfall. Offering to show me the location of the Pokemon Center was in fact a kind proposition, but his wording implied that I had not prior knowledge of its whereabouts. I did however leave an open invitation for him to accompany me on my way to the center to which he promptly began crying and ran off. In conclusion, it is not my fault for not knowing of this boy’s previous conditions and they way acted was not in any way mean or “prick”-like just simply correcting his information. He is the one that came up to me, assuming things about me, thinking that he knew things that he in fact did not. To me that sounds a bit audacious to me. While on the topic of audacity, you have taken the liberty of defining it for me. Cutting rudely, in front of a complete stranger, slapping him in the face, and then making wild and unwarranted accusations about his character, it seems to me that you are the one that should be called a prick!”

Dominic did not allow time for this woman to speak during his rebuttal. During his rant, though he would never call it that, Dominic had closed his eyes and lifted his finger in a matter-of-fact way and upon making his final statement leaned in a bit, glared at her, and pointed at her with his finger. He truly believed his behavior was appropriate and if one took a hard look at his actions the only truly mean thing he did was brush the boy aside.

((OOC: Please slap him again. That was totally hilarious!))

Shimo Pokemon Center

The girl backhanded you with the same amount of force as the last time. She crossed her arms with a harumph, and proceeded to bash you verbally. "Exactly my point. What you just assumed about me is exactly what you did to that boy! Maybe you should think about what you say and how you say it before you speak!" The doors to the Pokemon Center opened and a couple of the girl's friends came in. She kept speaking. "You think you're so big and bad. But you have no heart. You didn't have to dis him in the street like that. You need to rethink your attitude, buddy!" The girls friends came closer to the both of you. "Kristy! Stop! You've made your point and he gave you an ass-hole response! Obviously he doesn't care what you have to say!" Kristy simply looked at her friend that spoke as the other took her arm and aided her friend's protest. "Yeah Kristy, don't waste any more time on this guy. He's a jerk and that's all there is to it. You're gonna get yourself killed one day if you keep trying to defend the weak." The other girl also linked her arm with Kristy and tried to pull her away. Kristy wouldn't hear of it, however, and slipped her arms out of theirs. "No way! If I were that kid, I'd certainly would want someone to take my side."

Outside of the Pokemon Center, people passed by as Kristy's actions spoke for her. Most of them shook their heads, knowing Kristy as the Defender of the Weak, whether they were people or Pokemon. Those people walked on as other stopped and laughed, thinking some guy was getting bashed by his girlfriend. Luckily for you, however, Nurse Joy walked in. "Oh, Miss Kristy! Welcome. I thought I heard your voice back here. But Miss Sarah, and Miss Valerie are right. You should be more careful on whom you confront. We just worry about you is all." Nurse Joy giggled slightly, then looked to you, seeing your cheeks were red from being slapped. Her smile faded slightly. "Please, understand where she is coming from, sir. She may be a tad bit rash and hot-headed, but she only has the people of this town's interests at heart." She bowed in apology and handed your Pokemon back. "Please take care and come back to see us any time."

As Nurse Joy spoke to you, Kristy crossed her arms and sighed. She turned her back to you and her friends and walked away, slightly annoyed. Her friends looked at each other, then at you, then back to the other, wondering if she was okay. You took her words to heart before, even if it was just slightly, and that as the part they had missed. They then sigh and go to their rooms at the Center, giving Kristy some time to herself.

Would you confront Kristy? Or her friends?

Dominic Glaze

(Traveling to Shimo PokeMart)

Dominic was just as taken aback from the second slap as the first. He blinked for a moment. His eyes burned a bit with small tears in the corners of them in pain. The young man was growing frustrated with this insipid girl's accusations. Had she not been listening? Dominic had already explained that he had not intended nor did he "dis" this younger boy. What was her attachment to this kid anyway? Dominic was about to defend himself once more, but two more girls showed up and called him an "ass-hole" and a "jerk." Some people had begun to stop and snicker at them, probably also making false accusations about Dominic. Again Dominic made an attempt to preserve his integrity, but this time Nurse Joy returned with his Pokemon. At least she gave him some insight to this Kristy's attachment to the boy.

When the trainer turned back to confront Kristy, she and her friends had taken their separate ways. But, the trainer decided to leave them. What were the odds he would see any of them ever again? It was a big world that he was about to go explore and ultimately the opinion of three girls didn’t matter in the long run. Thus, Dominic decided it was best to leave. He walked out of the center on to the busy sidewalks of Shimo City. The young man made his way to the PokeMart to buy some supplies.

Dominic stepped in the store and looked about for the potions. He knew the store was run by an older woman, but he had not visited the store enough to know much else about her. Pacing up and down the aisles searching for just some simple Potions, Dominic began to grow more and more frustrated at not begin able to locate such a common item. There was a slight twinge of frustration in his lips as her turned down another aisle and having no luck at finding what he was looking for. He began looking closely over the shelves, sinking into his own world and becoming oblivious to anything around him.

Shimo City Pokemart.
Slightly Snowing

So you decided to confront neither of them. Probably a smart choice.

As you walked to the Pokemart, snowflakes gently danced about you and fell to the ground silently. It was quieter now that people were stopping in at cafes to get coffee and hot chocolate or warm snacks to cure their munchies. The aromas were very welcoming and seemed to just warm the soul.

But you were on a different mission. You, sir, were on your way to becoming a bad-ass. And come Hell or high water, you were going to do it and say screw it to all the rest, right? Well, okay so maybe this isn't you all the way, persay, but it was close enough.

As you opened the door and were greeted by the elder woman sitting behind the counter. She smiled and nodded to you. "If there's something you need, let us know." Let US know? Maybe she was referring to one of the employees here. Oh well...

As you stalked the shelves and hustled down the isle, you turned and ran into someone. "OOF!" There was a thud and some slight clatter as plastic bottles fell from the shelf. The other person took a mini shower of Potions. "Oww... Ack!!" The person shielded their head from further damage and when you looked down and saw a girl, who uncovered her head, and you saw your very best friend!!

"Kristy! Oh sweetie, are you alright?" The old woman stood up and came to check on the two of you. Kristy looked to the old woman and nodded. "Uh-huh... I'm okay Grammie." Kristy looked up to you, and her eyes widened. She remembered you, buddy. But instead of attacking you, she simply stood up and bowed. "I'm sorry I was in your way sir. Please excuse me while I clean this mess." And with that, she bent down and started picking up the potions that she knocked down when you bowled into her. Strange, wasn't it? Kristy seemed to have a change of heart about you. But maybe that's because you were a customer and she was an employee, having to bend to your will.

Power switch anyone? Well, Kristy didn't lose her temper yet, so would you accept her apology of being in the way? Or would you apologize for not paying attention? It's all up to you, Trainer!
