Spawn Totals
So checking out the map. Urban and Grassland are overwhelmingly everywhere, everything else seems evenly spread, except Snow, which is only on one island, which I guess makes sense as it's the Northernmost or Southernmost island? Why are there are no cardinal directions on this map? >_>

Cave also is only found on one island though and then it's one large cave into a city. I'm not directly saying THERE NEEDS TO BE A NEW CAVE, but it's definitely under-represented as compared to the other spawn areas/types. That is unless it's worked around by there being random spawn caves on certain routes, without them being large marked areas or something like that...That is all.

Are you done suggesting stupid and pointless ideas yet Bcad? Look, I'll tell it to you straight, no one here likes you. We all wish you'd die in a fire. You are the biggest waste of space on Alternia since Cody. You have absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever and you insist on both sounding smarter than you are and starting arguments no one cares about. I had already issued a warning before this about how hard you were pissing everyone off. You didn't heed my warning so now I've got permission to tell you exactly all the ways that you're a retard and you should remove yourself from Alternia before someone actually steps in makes that decision for you.

BCad, go, don't come back, don't look back, just leave. No one wants you here. You've alienated yourself from not only the lower and upper staff but a sizable portion of the memberbase. You're useless and you haven't contributed anything to the site except headaches.

Get the hell out.

I'm sure, as you say, caves are probably spawned to a lesser extent in mountainous regions/etc to make up for it. I take it that the only 'significant' caves are the ones with names/that are large enough to be mentioned.

Though I take your concern, I don't feel it needs to be changed too much, since minor caves are easily spawnable in many instances. There aren't too many cave-specific spawns, compared to the other areas, so the memberbase as a whole aren't missing out on a whole lot. And even then, if you want a Cave spawn from somewhere that is specifically a cave, you can just spend the time travelling to the grander, larger named ones. I feel that the area-types are spread out enough. Any one island is either varied enough to be appealing, or possesses a 'niche' of sorts to make it appealing in a different way, so it works for me.

Everyone needs to chill out and stop the flaming.

Now, what Seekee says is right. Every mod has the ability to spawn minor caves as they see fit. If you want an example, check my Journey post, where a minor cave was spawned while I was looking for a Snorunt.

On top of what Seekee and Silas said, it's a serious hassle to make extra places just because a certain type is "under-represented." There's a reason some of those types are rare in the first place, and if you really had a problem crossing three bridges, swinging across rivers on vines, and swimming over 9000 miles to get to an area where you might freeze to death, you can always just ask for a plot or something to help get you there quicker xD

Life is not a fairytale and there are no happy endings.
What Seekee, Silas and Miles said. It's easy for mods to spawn small caves in places. I've done it myself in certain journeys, as has others. So, this isn't really an issue.

Just a thought here, and I'd like to note this is in no way meant to sound like flaming, but bcad, you have asked a couple of times why I'm often so outspoken against your ideas, and this is the perfect example. There NEEDS TO be another cave, you say? I don't see staff colors on your name, nor have I at any point read a rule saying things are "Bcad's way or the highway." This place functioned fine long before you came around, so who are you to go saying what needs to be done, passing judgment on previously accepted conventions, and more or less talking down to the staff that created things here like they somehow aren't good enough for you.

To put it short and sweet, I frankly wish you'd either learn to play the game the way it's made or go build your own, cause the constant complaining and attemps to change everything are really getting tiring.

This is enough to satisfy me on this. I will add one further comment and then turn dialogue a different direction.

Comment: I know Balloonist's journey is directed to go to a new location, some ancient city, unlisted on the map. These numbers would be nice to think about if/when exploration and finding/marking things in character is to occur.

New direction: I'm aware that the area lists are based off of the PAL PARK areas for pokemon. In game some pokemon are found in obviously different areas then their pal park area, for example Zubat found pretty much everywhere if it's night or Paras being found in a cave. any thoughts on letting any of the pokemon be multiple area like that?

1. I understand the rules here, there are no glaring horrible problems with them or I would be horribly trying to change things. I just open up a few dialogues.

2. I actually have made my own forum complete, three times; advertised everywhere each time and got...no one.

3. My major is game design, most of my "suggestions" are fakemon that I'm kinda just using to practice art and balancing; also when I'm not here it's either class work or designing games.

I believe we do have multi-location pokémon, though very few. Lustoat is one I can think of who is currently placed in two categories. I'm not sure what the process is with trying to get a pokémon listed more than once, but I've definitely heard to said by high-ups that if you can present a good case for changing the location/rarity of a species, it can be considered. I suppose this might apply for getting it multi-listed, too, though too much cross-over and it rather ruins the appeal of having distinct groups per area.

Also, though some spawns are currently day/night only, I don't think there is any list literally just of day/night spawns with no area type specified, like you suggest for Zubat? I think that this sort of thing can be handled, again, by the individual mod; if it's night-time, then I believe it's in the mod's right to spawn some Zubat under the assumption that you are near a cave and the Zubat are just currently flying outside of it, etc.
