Millenia Town

Welcome to Alternia! You've just entered a very mystical and exciting place where good times, and adventures await. But be warned, where there's good, there's also bad. If you didn't already know that, that statement was going to be made clear to you pretty soon. Nevertheless, it was probably a good thing that you had chosen to start your new life in Millenia Town, as opposed to Kijutsu City, or Nogou Village. Kijutsu City, was probably really close to the life you had before your mother passed away, which wouldn't be the best way to start a new journey. Nogou, which wasn't as scandalous as Kijutsu, wasn't a good fit for you either. Millenia was definitely the best choice.

You made your way through the herds of people that walked the streets of Millenia Town, each one having a purpose for being out right now, whether it was grocery shopping, enjoying the beautiful sunny day, or harassing beautiful young women. Wait.. what? Not that far off from you, was a man who seemed about to be about his mid 20s. His target was an elegant young lady who, I guess if you think about it, was pretty much asking for it with the way she was dressed. Still, women are allowed to wear what they wish right?

A bystander, who had gathered enough courage to interfere, approached the perpetrator. "Hey, leave her alone!" The harasser drew a Pokeball from his belt at the approaching male, summoning a rather menacing Koffing, who blocked the man's way. At this point, the guy, pretty much had the girl up against a wall, with his Pokemon protecting him in a sense. Well.. what were you going to do? You could interfere and stop it? or walk along.. you weren't obliged to help, after all.

The newcomer was completely enthralled with the city he had managed to get into, or town if you wanted to be technical, as it wasn't large enough to be constituted as a city. None the less, it was big enough to leave an impression with Riley, who could see a bright future ahead of him. Assuming that he could actually get a good step in the right direction. He didn't know what was in the region of Alternia, except for this town right now, and he didn't even know what was in Millenia. Well obviously there were people, which may be how he'd end up getting to wherever he was supposed to be. He'd just ask around and see what other people did here. Maybe he'd pick up on something!

Or perhaps he'd just end up coming across a bully or two, picking on some poor girl... who was dressed in a way that screamed DO ME. But with the freedoms that there were, women were allowed to dress however they wanted to... and then turn around and throw a fit because some guy is hitting on them. However, getting her up against a wall and then using aggressive means to keep someone from helping was a little ridiculous. Riley frowned, wondering if maybe he should just keep walking, as he just got here, and didn't want to bring too much bad attention to himself. Granted, it would be a good thing that Riley was doing, but he wasn't sure how much good there was in comparison to bad in the town. Already seeing this kind of stuff going on made Riley wonder what kind of place Alternia was.

Making his decision and knowing the possible repercussions, Riley grabbed Chatot's Pokeball. "Alright Perry, I guess we're already getting into our first battle here." With a flash of white light, the bird Pokemon appeared on the ground, and looked up at his owner before spotting the Koffing. Seeing what was going on, Chatot was able to figure out what his owner wanted. "I want you to start things off with a Growl, lower Koffing's attack, and then soar in there with a Peck. Try to spiral in the air, so that you can throw off his judgment and make it hard for him to attack you."

Perry the Chatot let out a small twitter before flapping his wings, propelling himself up into the air. His opponent was also one that fought above the ground, which meant that Perry didn't have that aerial advantage here. Still, he had every intention of using anything he could to gain the upper hand. Obviously there wouldn't be a whole lot of different terrain to use, as this was in town, but he could use Growl to begin with as Riley had suggested. From there, the spiraling in the air maneuver may give him the edge that Riley was hoping for. Well he'd certainly do his best in not letting his trainer down!

Yes, it was true.. Girls had the freedom to dress so extravagantly nowadays, but what was the point because as soon as you laid an eye on them they'd turn round and scream at you.. I know, I've been there.. *sigh* too many times.

The guy who had stood up to this.. Predator.. Seemingly backed off once he saw his menacing looking Koffing. Luckily, you were here to step up to the plate and become a hero. So early into your little adventure too? Usually it takes quite a while before people become heroes around here.

You released your Chatot, which were quite rare around Alternia if you asked me. I certainly hadn't seen one before. Your instructions were clear for him, and he took into the air. As you quite clearly stated, both pokemon had to ability to levitate in different ways. Chatot let out a growl, which caught the Koffings attention, and that of his trainer who turned round to look at you after trying to unhook the girls bra; Which BTW, I am awesome at. As he turned his focus to you, the girl got free a little, and delivering a huge slap across his face she got free, shouted some abusive things and ran off. He growled, and snorted towards you. "That was an easy target and you've ruined it. You're going down."

Bleh, whatever. Chatot soared abit higher to gather some momentum as he swooped down and began to go in for a peck. "Time it right and tackle it!" The sexual predator barked. As Chatot came in, Koffing kept close concentration. Unfortunately for him, your bird pokemon began to swoop as it came down just as you had so brilliantly instructed. The swooping threw the Koffing completely off guard and BAM. The peck was delivered head on. After delivering the attack, Chatot made sure to get back by your side to get away from any possible back lash they could throw. Smart pokemon.

This guy was a freekin' pig and yet he was going to be the one to get all mad as if his day had been horribly ruined? Please, that girl's was shot to hell the moment she put her clothes on. "You know, I bet you're wondering why it's so difficult for you to nail a girl, huh? Well did you ever stop to wonder if maybe it's the creeper thing that puts them off? 'Cuz honestly, if I happened to have a v instead of a p down there, I'd probably be running away as fast as I could too." Riley was just bantering, trying to put the guy off a bit. Maybe even piss him off he was lucky. "Oh wait... do you have mommy issues?" He gave the predator a "oops my bad" look before grinning.

Perry wasn't stupid, and he could easily understand what his owner was saying, and could manage to string together some of the stuff being said. So he chuckled, finding it all very amusing to say the least. "Your trainer seems to be getting some abuse," he snickered at Koffing, wondering just how loyal this Pokemon of his was. Koffing seemed to be a Pokemon that symbolized evil for some reason. The bird supposed it was probably because it was a Poison type and had a skull printed on its body. Of course that wasn't its own choice, but that of nature, or whatever had designed the poor Pokemon.

"Okay, time to really put the nail in the coffin, so to speak. Perry, I need you to listen carefully, because I'm about to lay down a foundation for a new attack for you. It's called Fury Attack, and what it is really, is you using Peck over and over again, except really fast. So fly in and use your Peck attack, followed right away by another Peck attack, but try to do them right after the other with no break inbetween!" Riley didn't particularly like the idea of teaching a new move in the middle of a battle, but he didn't have a lot of moves at his disposal with Petty. So either he did this, or he just stick with Growl and Peck. Fury Attack should be easy to teach though, and it could do quite a deal of damage if done right too.

A little worried, Perry nodded, ready to try this Fury Attack that Riley was suggesting. Hearing that it all it was was Peck with no break in between was a little encouraging. Peck was something that was very easy to do. So hopefully this wouldn't be difficult either. Glaring at Koffing, Perry dove again, ready to use two Pecks, with no break in-between, and hopefully get the idea of Fury Attack. He wanted to know a new move too!

The sexual predator growled at you, and continued to scowl at your insults. "You little punk, once I've taken care of your pokemon, I'll take care of your pretty-boy face." He said, before gathering a ton of flem, and spitting down on the ground. Ugh, classy.

His Koffing was scowling towards your Chatot too, after the wise bird had been giving some abuse of its own. Still, your Chatot spread its wings and flew towards the Koffing, ready to try and attempt the attack that you had explained. Unfortunately, as there was a slight hesitation, Koffing got there first and delivered a tackle, knocking your beloved Chatot back. And again, another tackle came in. Each time the scumbag behind him took a deep laugh.

Still, Chatot came, and when it got into its rythem, it got the attack absoloutley spot on. One, two, three, four! The pecks were delivered quickly, in exactly the same rythem that a Fury attacks should look like. And, you could tell it was a fury attack. Although it didn't hit the maximum of 5 times, it still hit more times than what normal attacks could do. (On here, anyway.) Even better, thanks to STAB this attack quite abit of damage, considering it wasn't the most powerful.

Chatot again glided back to cover next to you, panting slightly as the two tackles he recieved were quite painful. Look at that thing, it was basically like two full on headbutt's.

Riley knew fully well that if he had tried getting Perry to use more than just the one attack, he probably would have gotten confused while trying to learn it. As such, since he seemed to actually manage to learn it all right away, he figured that it was well worth sacrificing the use of another attack. Unfortunately, at the same time, because he didn't want to confuse Perry, he hadn't instructed him on dodging any attacks that Koffing used. It was perhaps because of this that Perry ended up taking two Tackles full on, which with the body that Koffing had, was more of a Body Slam than anything else. Granted, it still did the regular Tackle like damage, but god damn did that have to hurt! "You did absolutely amazing, Perry. Now we can focus on other things so you don't have to get so beat up."

The bird looked at Riley with relief, obviously glad to hear that. "I know I'm not stupid, but my god I couldn't even think to dodge anything." Riley couldn't understand him, and Perry knew that, but he was sure Riley got the main idea... hopefully? Perry then looked at Koffing and smirked at him, ready to do some more damage. "I think you'll find that your trainer is inadequate in providing you safety. Maybe you should focus on teaching him how to be nice, and not a rude pig." And maybe Riley would actually be able to finish this battle now. Hopefully?

"So here's how it's going to work, Perry. I want you to fly in with a Peck, doing that spiral thing that I told you about before. Only this time, make sure that you're not doing the spiral in the same pattern. That should help throw Koffing off and keep him from guessing how you're getting to him. When you strike, I want you to keep flying forward, don't stop. Stopping would give him the chance to hit you. Start turning around, and this time when you come back, use your Fury Attack again. Hopefully by then you won't be spent of energy."

Perry nodded, narrowing his eyes at Koffing, ready to do the best that he possibly could. The pain from the two Tackles had been subsiding, and now he wasn't feeling it all that much. And what he was feeling, he was trying to push out of his mind so that he could focus on the matter at hand. Launching himself off of Riley's shoulder, where he had been roosting for a bit, Perry began to spiral, in the opposite direction that he had been before, and started to switch directions, back and forth to better the chance of confusing Koffing. His beak was ready to do some damage, and Perry was ready to get this done and over with.

Your Chatot set off into the sky again, and began to dart towards the Koffing with its beak firmly held strong. As he got in close, he twirled and spiralled in a diffrent direction, coming in from a different side to deliver the peck to Koffing. It was an excelent hit, and Koffing was almost stunned, not having time to retaliate as Chatot went into the next phase of her attack.

One, two, three, four.. Could it be? FIVE! The fury attack hit five times, wow the gods of the RNG was certainly kind to you. As that last hit fell upon Koffing, Koffing fell upon the floor. KO'd. It was an absoloutley brilliant performance by your little parot type pokemon. The punk withdrew his Koffing, growing at you but stuttering backwards on his feet. "You'll regreat this! I swear it!" He said, before running off as quickly as he possibley could.

Chatot panted a little, after delivering so many attacks. Yet, he had still done excellent. That swirling thing he did when he came in for a peck? Awesome, and very skillful. Well, your first battle on your adventure turned out in you saving a young girl, defeating an utter tool of a guy, and prooving you were a formidable opponent.

Not only all of that, but look! The guy had dropped his wallet in his panic as he ran off. You picked the wallet up.. There were no credit cards or i.d cards in it, but there was $100!

With the battle over, Riley was left standing there, a bit surprised at how quickly it had gone, and how amazingly well it had been for his very first battle! Perry gave a little chatter and flew back to Riley, landing on his shoulder and looking at the other trainer who appeared to be unnerved by what had happened. He stumbled back, though with a growl, and took off, warning Riley that he'd be sorry. "Sorry for kicking your ass? Nah, that's okay. I'm feeling pretty good about it actually." Riley smirked and turned his head, noticing something on the ground. Seeing that it was a wallet, Riley figured it to had to be the sex offender's and bent over to pick it up. It didn't have any cards to ID him or anything, but it did have a bit of cash. A hundred bucks worth it appeared!

Standing again, he felt Perry's claws dig into his shoulders as he shifted, keeping himself from being thrown off. He reached up to run a hand down Perry, who nipped playfully at his fingers. "You should be so proud of yourself right now. If it weren't for you, that girl would have been raped and probably strangled to death. Do you know what that means, Perry? You're a hero, and the king of birds and all those that can take flight!" He grinned, walking down the road and bouncing, causing his Flying type to bob up and down as well. Perry was also trying to keep himself from falling or being tossed off into the air.

A large building was soon found, and Riley gave a sigh of relief. "Look! It's the Pokemon Center! We can get you healed up there from that battle. Not that it did a lot to you, but it still would be nice to not have to worry about being jumped and ravaged, right? And something fun might be going on in there." He didn't know about the last part, but he figured it beat standing or walking around out here where there didn't appear to be much of anything going on. Perhaps there would be some kind of quest or something he could do that he'd find information on in the center. That's what went on in those places right? Besides healing that is.

Perry leered at the large building and tossed his head. "I don't need any healing. Haven't I just proven myself as the best damned Pokemon ever? You haven't been with me all that long, and already you're beginning to doubt me, after the one battle we've been in ended in pure win for me." He wasn't really offended, so much as he was hurt that Riley seemed to be so sure that he had to be healed. It might not be a bad idea to get himself all taken care of. But it sure as hell wasn't like he was about to die or anything.

They neared closer to the building, and the bird ruffled his feathers. Something about going inside there just didn't sit well with him, and he wasn't sure why. Perhaps he was just a bit annoyed at the idea of being healed up after one little battle. Suddenly, a pebble hit Perry in the head, not too hard, and it wasn't very big. Just enough to really bother him, and he frowned. "That smarts! What the hell was that?" He felt Riley stroke his feathers again, and he ruffled them once more. "Fine, alright. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get checked out."

Millenia Town ~ Outside Pokemon Center ~~ 2 Hours Until Nightfall ~

It would seem that your first battle hadn't been the best start to a journey. A good ol battle is nice, but the fact you were dealing with some pervert was never fun. At least you came out the victor and earned a bit of cash out of it. Now, whilst walking yourself to the pokemon center you found yourself met with another such inconvenience. A bump on Perry's head caused by a pebble that could have been thrown made the little guy flinch, although his pride would never allow him to show it.

Walking into the pokemon center you felt the cool breeze from the air conditioning. Nurse Joy took your pokemon with a smile and healed him up nicely, returning him carefully, Perry perching up on your shoulder. It was then you began to feel a slight chill. Maybe it was just from the air conditioning being a little colder than normal, but it certainly sent a small shiver down your spine. None of the other trainers seemed to mind it though and were carrying on their business. Nevermind, you wouldn't be staying here too long anyway, you had gotten what you needed and were now free to continue your journey.

Stepping out of the pokemon center, it was noticeable that night was nearly upon the world. Maybe you would need to find somewhere to stay...it was then however, that a sudden nauseous feeling washed through you. Your stomach tightened and a cough escaped you as your head began to pound against your skull and a blackness washed over you. Staring into nothing, an image raced towards you, blurry at first, and then slowly starting to become clear. It was a picture of an old house. It looked like it was from this town, but why were you seeing it? A second image appeared of a small, local library. The image here showed a shelf of books with a small cabinet at the bottom detached, and a parcel lying there. Why were these two images in your head? One showed a library with a discovered box, the second, an old house. Were they connected? Were you even bothered? Maybe it was worth searching one of these places. At least to try and find out why these images had suddenly popped into your head.

You finally returned to normal and the feelings of nausea and the chill earlier had all subsided. You were welcome to continue on your adventure...but wasn't there a slight bit in you that was curious on what just happened?

Why the hell was the air conditioning on and so high at the Pokemon Center? Riley shivered, as did Perry from the cold, and the Breeder crossed his arms, his little parrot moving about to keep himself from being shrugged off. Not that Riley was trying to shrug him off, just that his shoulders had moved up. "Hey, I just need Perry here to be healed up a little bit. It's nothing huge, just a little quick thing to do, in case I need him fully pumped up." And he also wanted to mention something about the air conditioning but figured that it might be better to keep quiet about that. Besides, Nurse Joy was probably not that interested in hearing some stupid complaint.

Once that was done, with Perry healed and looking very sleek and happy, Riley made his way outside of the Pokemon Center. Nobody seemed to be waiting for their Pokemon to get out of some kind of serious surgery or anything. Yet, there were plenty of people in there, none of whom seemed the least bit cold. Riley wondered if maybe all Pokemon Centers here were like that and it was something that the citizens here got used to. "Well what do you think we should do now, Perry? Maybe go look for a wild Pokemon? It would be nice to have another companion, don't you think? Or we could... find out what's wrong with me." The vision hit him hard.

Dropping to his knees, Riley saw a flash of an old looking house, much like others in this town, probably in the outskirts. That was an assumption he made based on how old it looked, as most newer looking houses tended to be within the town. After all, they cost more, and people that could afford to buy them could certainly afford to keep up with them. But then the image shifted to that of a library, no doubt the local library here, and it seemed to zoom in on a particular shelf of books. There was a small cabinet to it that was detached, with some kind of package just laying there.

Suddenly, the blackness left and light zoomed back into Riley's eyes, and he gasped and coughed, sputtering slightly. "What was that all about?" Riley asked suddenly. He was one hundred percent positive that he wasn't some kind of psychic, as he never had anything like this happen to him before. And that would mean that something else was responsible for giving him these kind of visions, and he wondered what it could be. "I need to know what's going on. Perry, we're off to the old house I saw first. Maybe whatever gave me those visions is there and wants me to go to them."

His bird simply ruffled his feathers, not knowing what the hell was wrong with his human, and frankly not caring as long as he got it under control. Oh, who was he kidding? He cared, and there was no denying it. "Just don't think that I'm going to stick around if you end up half dying on me." Perry lifted his head in a hmph manner. Then he lowered it slightly, watching as Riley made his way to the northern end of town, no doubt looking for that house.

::Millenia Town - In Street - 1 Hour until nightfall

The streets were beginning to darken as you made your way through town. The street lights started to flicker on, illuminating your progress. They cast an eerie shadow in the twilight of you and Perry. The houses around you began to change as you reached the northern suburbs. They became larger and more spacious as you moved away from the center of the town.

Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, the house you had seen appeared on your right. The street lights outside it were flickering uncertainly. This gave a haunting impression to the house as if it didn't quite exist in this dimension. It was exactly like the one in your vision, the only diffeence being a solitary light was on in one of the upstairs windows. Seems someone lived here or was doing something they shouldn't.

"I wouldn't go near that house if I were you," came a gruff voice from behind you, "Crazy lady lives there, won't abide anyone even going near the house."

The man was well built with a scraggly white beard and hair. He was wearing what looked like a sailor's uniform but was so torn and worn that he couldn't possibly still be working. His eyes glinted in the flickering light and his mouth was fixed in a permanent grimace. An unlit pipe drooped from his mouth and a pair of half-moon glasses perched on his nose.

"Story goes she done something years ago that she always regrets. Ain't come out of that house for decades. Only her and her cats she allows in that house."

It was then you noticed the shadows crawling all over the house. The vague shapes of Meowth and Glameow sitting or trotting all over the roof and porch. Every know and then one would jump through the window into the room with the light on. From looks of it you could make out about 10 of the cats, though inthe dark it was difficult to make out how powerful they were.

"If you want I can show you more about her. There's a lot about her in that old library over there, it's where she used to work."

The man gestured a short way down the street where you could just make out a faded sign: Library. He turned from you and set off down the street heading for the library. A shape you hadn't noticed before winged silently through the air beside him. You could just make it out to be a Wingull but the light again gave no other clues to its power. There also seemed to be the shapes of Pokeballs on a belt around his waist. Whether they contained Pokemon or not, well you'd have to follow him to find out.

Well it seemed you had possibly found the location of both of your visions but which would you choose. The old sailor and the library or the crazy cat lady and her house. The choice is yours....
