Kayla shook her hand as the stick went flying. Pidgey had swooped back up to prevent a face first landing into the ground. His feathers ruffled in the breeze as he circled in. She had squatted by the stick, poking it with one extended finger. He grunted, unhappy that the stick had not snapped in half like he wanted. He needed more power in his wings to break it. The girl made an odd sighing noise. The bird cocked his head and looked up at her. It was strange how he could see the wheels and gears turning in her head. The finger suddenly began scribbling in the dirt. He hopped closer and stared at the strange characters. Half he was sure were not in the English language. She made something that sounded like 'aha' and then 'erased' her symbols. Drawing again, she made a very crude picture of him. He made a disgruntled noise but she continued and he thought it best not to say anything. The drawing became a diagram and took shape before his eyes. He watched as she pointed at his likeness and followed the line to another that he thought represented the stick. The line then suddenly turned off to the side. His head cocked again and he looked up at her. A turn would decrease his speed and thus make the attack weaker. He shook his head, not getting it. She outlined what looked like the sun and tapped it. Sun, energy. Okay. She made it bigger with more lines coming out of it. More energy? He glanced over at Chaos, glaring that the bull was fast asleep. This would be much easier if the bull could translate for him. He sighed and agreed to try it her way. She smiled and stood back up, holding the stick high in the air. Pidgey flapped his wings and fluttered up into the open sky. He cirled to rise higher easier, loving the feel of the wind brushing against him. He lined himself up for the attack, focusing on the little stick. He concentrated on putting power behind the wing. With a deep breath, he dove down at the girl, wings pulled back and ready to outstretch and turn at the last minute. Chaos grunted in his sleep, head bowed. Well, at least someone here was relaxing. |

So your Pidgey was now going off of a diagram you had drawn. In all honesty, even I could not understand you, nethertheless could I not understand the reason behind not giving your pokemon a few spoken words. Still, I wasn't one to judge, only one to play my part and help you get through, with or without problems. Pidgey got higher this time, before turning and targetting the stick you had held above your head again. This time, he was concentrating on energy, and focusing on his attack power. With a pull back, he got the last bit of thrust he needed before diving towards you. The wind began to move out of his way and his wings were spread once again. He came in, and completely demolished the stick in your hands. Infact, the power of it and the sheer wind that followed almost knocked you on your backside. He came back, swooping around you and chirping happily. Well done! The move was finished, that didn't take too long now, did it? And it was done without saying a word to your little feathered friend. I guess there is more to being connected with pokemon than just speaking. Nice job! Wing attack: Learning curve 100%Chaos was still asleep, and getting better by the second. You really could not tell how well your Tauros was getting with learning this move, and it was best not to make him up and disturb his progress. So, unfortunately there was no much to do there, huh? Rest: Learning curve 80%

Pidgey chirped happily as he fluttered down to rest beside the girl. The attack had been successful as noted by the destroyed stick. The girl was smiling widely, eyes bright and alert. She squatted down next to him, stroking his head. He did not know why it made him happy to see her as happy but he figured it was some sort of empathy thing. Kayla scratched under his chin, seemingly thinking again. She blinked rapidly and then began messing with the watch unit on her wrist. Her eyes scanned the readout and he could see her mouthing the words. Glancing up, she looked over at the sleeping bull. Her head tilted and then she pointed at him again. He cocked his own head. Now what? She fiddled with the device before showing him a picture of the odd snake, Steelix. He looked at it in confusion as she pointed at his wing and then slapped her hands together. That got a slight jolt from the Tauros athough he continued slumbering. Steelix Wing attack? He chirped in confusion before the words ran together and he caught the meaning. Steel Wing attack. He preened his wings quickly as he thought about it. It would be nice to think outside the box and have something to use besides the plain old Tackle and now Wing Attack. And Steel Wing was just a different kind of Wing Attack. Yeah, he could make it swing. He chirped in agreement and she grinned. Again, Pidgey began stretching his wings out and swiping out with them, feeling the increased power that was from the Wing Attack. Fully stretched again, he turned to her and found her stroking his head. She was staring right at him and it was slightly creepy. Then she turned her eyes down and began to write in the dirt again. She spelled out 'power' in shaky letters that were hard to decipher. He blinked, unable to read but then she drew the sun again. Energy then. Then she made the lines coming off of it larger and longer. More energy? Okay, he could try and manage that. She smiled and he took off into the sky again, circling above her. Her Tech beeped and she startled. Kayla read the scrolling words and frowned, fingers flying over the keys. She was becoming more accustomed to the device and its uses. Pidgey squawked above her and she quickly fetched another small stick and held it up above her for him. He focused on it, trying to put power behind his wings, to make them as unmovable as steel. Drawing in a deep breath, he dove down at the stock still girl. |

As you were giving your.. Well, they wern't exactly orders, but as you were showing your Pidgey your drawings.. Your starter pokemon, Tauros, had awaken. The bull slowly opened its eyes, and got up on all fours, no sign of injury. The bull trotted over towards you, giving off a loud yawn as it did. You could tell that the bull was pretty much fully recovered. Yep, you guessed it.. Rest: Learning Curve~ 100%Pidgey now, was going to attempt steel wing.. And how the bird found that out without you saying a word was beyond me.. Clever pokemon you have here. Yet it didn't matter, this was going to be difficult. The pidgeon took off into the air, and tried to do the same thing as it had been doing whilst attempting to master wing attack, come in spreading its wings and trying to get full force behind them. With no idea of how to turn its wings into steel energy, this was going to be a disaster.. The bird swooped down, wings stretched and energy soaring. As it came down, it tried to get as much force as it possibley could. The wings collided with the stick you had held up, again snapping it into two halves. Yet, all it was, was just a well precisioned, strong wing attack. Granted that this was stronger than a normal wing attack, just, but there was nothing 'steel' about it. I suggest your Pidgey focusing on raising its defense before trying again. But, how do you tell a pokemon that without saying a word? Steel wing: Learning Curve~ 10%

Chaos blinked as he awakened. His muscles were rested and relaxed, his head was clear, and he felt like he could run a marathon easily. Stretching as he stood, he turned around and found Kayla and Pidgey doing...something. He snorted and lumbered over, watching the Pidgey stare at the ground the girl was drawing in. The bull stood over the girl and suddenly yawned, the noise startling the two of them. Well, he was not exactly the silent type but he did not think he had been that quiet. Kayla smiled up at him warmly, reaching up and tugging on his mane. Pidgey had taken off to the air and he watched in fascination as the two worked. The stick was thrust into the air and he nearly jumped as the Pidgey dove at her. Before he could even react, the stick had been snapped in half by the bird's wing and he was left staring at them. What had they been doing while he was asleep? Kayla frowned and squatted in the dirt again. Chaos watched her, still slightly confused at what was going on but game for anything. Pidgey had fluttered back down, displeased and a little disgruntled. He preened his wings quickly, seemingly thinking. Chaos grunted in inquiry, asking what they were doing. The bird ruffled his feathers up and quickly responded that they were attempting Steel Wing. He nodded, now understanding the dive attempts and why the bird was breaking sticks in half. He cocked his head as the girl began scribbling again. She mumbled something incoherently and then began drawing again. This time she drew what appeared to be a rock. Her hands searched out around her and picked up a very small one. The girl tapped it and tried squishing it, grunting. 'Hardness' the bull supplied to him. He watched curiously as she plucked at one of his wings. Her hands began to flail wildly as the fingers twisted and formed. Chaos nodded then, telling the Pidgey that she wanted him to put hardness or toughness on his wings. Well, he could try that. He chirped in agreement, hoping this would work better than the time before. He fluttered back into the air, circling up above her while thinking about trying to be "tough". How to incorporate that, he was not completely sure but focusing on his inner toughness might work. The stick was finally up and he dove down, looking inside. Chaos watched her stare up after the bird wistfully. He grunted softly, nudging her gently. She smiled at him and tugged his mane. She pointed up at the bird and then at him, clapping her hands. Oh, she wanted to do another one? Well, he could work with that. She pointed again at the bird and patted his head. He snorted, not quite getting what she wanted. She pulled out the Tech then and showed him the picture of the Steelix and then tapped his head again. Steel Head? It clicked then and he nodded. Iron Head. Yeah, he could work with that. It was just a modified Headbutt after all. Taking her advice for Pidgey, he focused hard on drawing up his own toughness. Being a Tauros, it should not be too hard. She smiled and patted his flank before brandishing another stick for Pidgey. |

Route 5 and Iron Head [ 10% ]Without words, this would go completely… bad. Tauros tried thinking “Tough” and “Hardness”. Though, Tauros didn’t have any real steel type moves. And the only thing it could reference to is it’s horns, which seemed sturdy enough. Taking the knowledge of how sturdy the horns are, Tauros tried using a headbutt on a tree. Well, it was supposed to be an attempt at Iron Head, but looked more like a Headbutt. Draw out something about making it hard, and how. Like its defense, which seems ideal for withstanding things—thus a “hard” idea. and Steel Wing [ 15% ]Pidgey had to try the same thing again. But again, without words, this may go worse, or just be very difficult. You could be doing this for a long time. Focusing on an inner hardness seemed to do little. The round seemed to be very much like the last, but it seemed that this Pidgey had some more power as it kept focusing. But again, without some sort of better communication, it would be too difficult. |

Chaos shook his head as Pidgey fluttered on down from his upward swoop. Well, that had gone terrible...again for the bird. The bull rolled his shoulders as he watched the girl. She had squatted back in the dirt, staring at it with the most determined look on her face. Whatever was going through her mind had her thinking all right. Pidgey grunted and flapped up to sit on his horn. The talons gripped his horn carefully as though hoping not to scratch it. He really did not care but appreciated the sentiment. He leaned down and nosed her gently, trying to figure out what she was thinking. Her eyes turned up to him and he could see the quizzical look. Chaos thought he knew what she wondering. Why was this such a hard one to learn? Well, he could think of a couple good reasons. Snorting he nudged her up and sqaured himself. 'Not giving up' he presented to her. Her smile became infectious and he stood back to let her think. And think Kayla did. This was obviously not something they could wing like before. Again, she consulted the Tech. The words flashed on as she searched for the attacks themselves. She sat on the ground, mouthing out the words. It took several readings before the information actually sank in. Her arms crossed in front of her and she considered what they had to work with. Both had a similar attack and that itself was not the problem. Frowning, she read the descriptions again. Was it because of the different type? It honestly had not clicked in before, she had been going off of the names of the attacks. Rocking onto her feet, she stared at the two behind her. Chaos watched her gestures, concentrating on the subtle meanings behind them. 'Focus...metal...thoughts.' He blinked. Pidgey questioned what she had said and he repeated the sentence. The bird seemed to hum and consider it. It was worth a shot. The hands began to move again and he watched curiously, trying to see what the Tauros got out of the strange movements. Chaos snorted and relayed the message to the bird. 'Focus on Defense.' The bird blinked but chirped. He flapped off into the sky to prepare. Circling up above, he tried to think. The Steel-types were heavy on the defense, that was true. Thinking, he tried to focus on what he hoped was his hidden steel abilities and his defense. Breathing in deeply, he searched below for her to hold another stick up. As soon as it popped up, he went into the dive again, aiming for the small stick. Chaos walked about, prepping himself like the Pidgey. He did have inner steel potential, it was recognizing it that would be hard. Kayla made a small noise and he looked up at her. She patted her head and then seemed to make a covering around it with her hands. He nodded, understanding that he needed to get the steel part for his head. Grunting, he rolled his shoulders and again tried to find where his steel potential was. As soon as he found it, he would go for the tree yet again, hopefully not knocking this one down. |

Route 5 Your Tauros really was a god send. The bull somehow understood everything that ran through your quiet head, and even then he could still translate virtually nothing into a complete set of commands for other pokemon. Such a wonderful personality. Pidgey set off into the sky again. He was getting the gist of what needed to be done. Denser wings, heavier, stronger.. The wings had to have steel energy within them, but with no previous experience with steel type moves it was a gamble. Your pokemon was going off its own accord. It did the same thing again, blah blah wings spread, aiming for the stick in your hands, snap, done. It was getting better. Steel wing: Learning curve~ 50%Tauros understood you alot more, somehow. The bull was a little more headstrong and clever. Thankfully too the horns on its head would make this attack a little easier to master, a little bit. Tauros began to focus on that, and began to pour energy into its head. With that, the bull took charge at a tree, slamming into it. The energy was great, and the progress was pretty good too. Iron head: Learning curve~ 50%

She nodded now as the two Pokemon came back in for the huddle. Both seemed more pleased than before but still somewhat disgruntled with the slow progress. Her hand ran down the Tauros' face, massaging his nose for a moment. She stroked the little bird's head and then sat in the dirt. Chaos grunted at her and pawed at the ground. He was ready to try it again, hopefully with better results. He nudged her and received the okay. Grunting, he turned to face the tree again. Taking a deep breath, he focused once again on trying to will up the steel potential inside of him. If he could draw it up and have it around his head, he would be good. Chaos squared himself up, pawed the ground, and charged. Pidgey was considering his last attempt and trying to think of a way to better understand the move. He was slowly getting it. While the move was not as simple as Wing Attack and thus would take a much longer time to learn, he was not as patient about this as he should be. The morning hours were dwindling away and he wanted to do something else before dusk fell again. Determined even more now to get this attack down, he looked up at the girl. Well, she was slightly useless with the Tauros already attempting the attack for the third time. Pidgey tried to think of a way to get his defense up and get himself in touch with the steel energy. He may have tapped into it this time as he focused inward. Blinking, he chirped up at her and got the absent minded nod. Wings spread, the Pidgey took to the sky and circled once before turning sharply and diving down at the slightly lower stick thrust into the air. |

Route 5 and Iron Head [ 75% ]Without words, as they were obviously unable to leave your mouth, Tauros seemed to find a way to do things, and want to practice them more. By doing so, he tried coating his head in the energy once more, and slammed his noggin hard into the tree, creating quite the dent. The dent can be from two things. One, his head, in general. Two, the head being hardened by steel energy. You wouldn’t quite know, since he had been facing away from you. When Chaos backed up, and offered up another attempt, you found that a white aura started to form, and it seemed that his attempt was even harder this time. He was almost there, and it wouldn’t be too much longer. and Steel Wing [ 65% ]Luckily, Pidgey was not a quitter. He took to the sky, circled around, and was about to try again. When coming down, he had focused so much on his wings that a white aura started to build around it. When coming down, his calculations were wrong, and a tip of the wings hit a thicker branch. The wing went right through it, kind of. It eventually folded and probably hurt the bird, but a good mark had been left. |

Chaos shook his head, knowing it was going to be slightly sore at this rate. However, it seemed that the pain was decreasing with each and every hit. That was a good sign, right? He pawed the ground again and was about to have another attempt when he heard the small squeak behind him. His hooves stilled and he turned to look at what had caused the small noise. Pidgey had landed and was stretching out his wing. He flinched a little when Kayla poked at the moving limb. He lowed over to them, asking if the bird was all right. The Pidgey huffed and nodded, folding his wings back to his sides. The male dynamics were appearing now though the girl was not too sure about it. Rolling his massive shoulders, Chaos faced the tree again. He could feel the energy was within his grasp this time and was certain it was only a matter of time before the technique was perfected. Head shaking, he lowered it in line with the tree again. Bring the energy up now, he thought, and hold it. Taking a deep breath, he snorted loudly, tails flying, and charged the tree again. Kayla was busy with the Pidgey. She tried to touch the wing again but he brought it to him closer and tighter and glared at her. He was perfectly fine, just a small bruise was all. He needed to practice with the other wing anyways, he assured himself. Hopping, the bird picked up a smaller stick for her to hold and handed it to the girl. She took it, eyeing it thoughtfully before she realized what she was supposed to do again. He flapped off into the sky again, favoring the slightly bruised wing. Circling up above, he concentrated on putting the same energy back in the opposite wing. He had gotten a grip on the attack just a minute ago so he thought and, if he continued with that, he could be able to get it in the next couple of attempts. Focusing on his Defense and coating himself with the energy, he circled into a dive for the stick below. |

Route 5 and Iron Head [ 90% ]Doing it all again, Tauros took a further charge into the tree, making quite a dent with his hard head. But the glow was building up; it’d take some more power. I know one move that could help with the power, and every pokemon knows it. Or increase the distance between him and the tree even further. If not that, then just another attempt or so. and Steel Wing [ 80% ]Pidgey took a quick note and focused on his defense, trying to pinpoint it to his wings. While going through the routine route, his wings started to glow white, and whiter they got with time. He was back to flying around, breaking branches, and trying his best to find a way to get this move down. The wings had started becoming harder, much harder. But along with it, they began to get heavier, and the speed was decreasing. Increasing his speed somehow may finish this move completely, since the wings seem fine. Though, how would you increase the speed? Edited by Kazuki, Jan 20 2011, 10:21 AM.

He grunted and threw his head back. The energy was coming now. His tails flicked back and forth along his flanks as he pumped himself up again. His horns shone in the light as he snorted and stomped the ground. He needed just a bit more power into his attack. The tree would probably crack and fall but that was not on his mind right now. He circled, digging deep gouges into the ground. Chaos stood several feet further than he had before. His hooves pawed the ground anxiously as he brought the energy back up again, feeling it now encasing his head. Bellowing, he charged full force at the tree, head lowered. Pidgey huffed and fluttered around the girl's head. He was not in the greatest mood after his latest attempt but he was sure it was getting better. Landing, he shook out his wings. The small wound on his main one did not hurt as bad but it was still stingy. Kayla reached out and gently stroked the wings, head cocked. She looked odd like that, the unkempt hair hanging around the wide eyes. She pointed at Chaos then and he watched the bull, seeing the aura surrounding the bull. He had that, just not the power or speed of the huge bull. His eyes then saw the line of gouges in the earth that had been made earlier. They were closer to the tree than the last gouge. That might work. He nodded up at her and took back off into the air again. Circling a little higher up than before, the Pidgey concentrated again on focusing the steel potential into his wings. Once he could feel the aura, he dove at the tree, determined to get this move finished. Kayla smiled at her two guys when the Tech beeped. She blinked and stared at the device in confusion before it crossed her mind that she should open it and see what it wanted. She cocked her head again and stared at the Tech's readout. If it actually processed or not, it was not known but she began hitting buttons. The Tech beeped once and went silent and she sat in contentment. |

:: Route 5 Just now, the sky was becoming a much clearer blue. Clouds were escaping to each horizon and the sun was now at it's highest as it burned down on you and your pokemon. The heat was wonderful, and it complimented route 5 beautifully as it painted them in beautiful shades of colour. Your pokemon were definately getting tired now, as they had tried and prevailed in learning several attacks. Thankfully, they were now coming to the end of the latest. Your Pidgey flew in, wings spread yet again and coming in quicker and at a much more effective angle. The wings glowed a silvery that suggested it was the steel energy. The tree was sliced and carved like butter, the wing drove a deap, thick line through the bark. Steel Wing: Learning curve~ 100% Complete.Chaos' tails flicked furiously as he snorted and began to scruff the ground with his powerful hooves. He stood further back, before charging on a rampage towards the tree that Pidgey had just sliced. His hooves shook the ground and birds Tailow began to fly out of nearby tree's as the bull took a charge that as not going to be stopped. The horns glowed the same as Pidgeys wings, before he collided with the tree. The tree was simply obliterated, it snapped almost in half, as the bottom half slowly ripped up out of the ground and flung dirt into the air that rained down on you and your Pidgey like some sort of appocolyptic meteor shower. Iron Head: Learning curve~ 100% Complete.

The remnants of the tree rained down around them as the two Pokemon froze to watch. Both felt much better now, having accomplished what had seemed to be a long, frustrating task. It had taken a good portion of the day to do both attacks. Pidgey fluttered down, slightly out of breath. Chaos snorted at the destroyed tree and turned to face Kayla. She was beaming and he relaxed at her happiness. Pidgey chirped softly, his little chest moving up and down. He preened at his wings briefly before he froze and looked up again. The girl was staring at him and he was certain she had said something. "Soren." Chaos nodded carefully, mindful of the Pidgey resting on his head. The bird stared at the girl still, somewhat shocked that she had said anything to him. The voice slurred the name but she seemed content with it. He shifted on the bull's horn and chirped inquisitively. Kayla nodded again, the name popping out of her mouth. "Soren." Grunting, the bull shifted his shoulders. He lowed softly, informing the bird he was lucky, he had to wait months before she said a word to him. Soren chirped and hopped over to the edge of the bull's horn. Kayla reached her hand out and stroked first Chaos' nose and then the Pidgey's head. The Tech on her wrist beeped and she stared at it. Chaos and Soren also focused on it as it flashed and three PokeBalls suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The Pidgey startled as well as Kayla and all three fell to the ground. Red shot out as they burst open, forming into three small Pokemon. Chaos backed off as Kayla stood still, staring at the ground. She had withdrawn again and he snorted, a feeling of protectiveness welled up in him. The three Pokemon fully formed and he watched them carefully. A Pikachu, a Phanpy, and a Clefairy were gathered around where the balls had fallen. They all shook off, the small rodent and fairy catching sight of another and squealing. They immediately hugged, chirping excitedly and grating on the Tauros' nerves. The Phanpy snorted and stared at the bull, looking much more serious then the two females. The two began a stare down until Soren cooed at the trio, asking where they were from. Both Pikachu and Clefairy stopped their celebration and looked up at the bull and bird. The Clefairybacked up a bit, somewhat intimidated but the Pikachu stepped forward. She told the two that the two of them were lottery prizes and that their trainer had one. Chaos blinked and looked over at the girl, stock still and head bowed. Did she even know what she was doing? He looked at the Phanpy now and he nodded, still staring the bull down. Clefairy chirped and hopped over to the girl, looking like she wanted to introduce herself. Chaos carefully stood in her way, shaking his head. Soren squawked and he looked up in time to see the Pikachu's cheeks glow. She's shy he managed to tell them. The bird chirped up with not entirely right as well and he rolled his eyes. Best for slow intros Chaos snorted, hoping they would understand. The Phanpy stared at her now before snorting and shaking his huge ears. Clefairy stepped up again, gently tugging on the girl's shorts. She made no move like she had felt the tug and kept her eyes turned away. Many thoughts were racing through Kayla's head right now and most of them were of terror. There were so many things around and it was scaring her. Chaos had made a move to leave and she shot a hand out to tangle in his mane. He relaxed and allowed her to hold onto him for support. Pikachu squeaked gently, grabbing the Clefairy's hand to pull her away gently. She nodded at the bull, seeing the girl's stance become more guarded and the Tauros' rising agitation because of it. The Pokemon began to talk amongst themselves, trying to sort out the huge mess as the girl clung to the bull's mane. Her head finally lifted up but focused away from the situation. She looked up at the horizon and stared at the moutain in the far distance. Then she turned back to the way they had come from. Kayla looked down at her Tech and fiddled with it for a moment. Thoughts raced through her mind, several of them incoherent. A couple stood out and she looked down to find the little Phanpy watching her. Her head immediately turned away and she made a small noise. Chaos stopped the conversation and turned to face her. While her head remained down, she tugged on his mane and pointed to the left. He snorted and looked off that way, confused. They had just come from that direction. She tugged his mane more forcefully and he snorted in agreement. Fine, they'd go back that way. He shrugged at the Pokemon gathered and turned his whole body. Pikachu chirped and suddenly leapt up, settling herself up on his back. Soren chirped and shuffled on his perch, watching as the Clefairy hopped up as well. Chaos rolled his eyes and glanced at the girl holding onto him. It would probably be a few hours before she snapped out and became a bit more talkative...heh. He turned the other direction, finding the Phanpy was tagging along right behind them. He glared at the Tauros and then turned his attention at the girl. The elephant snorted, walking a little faster to cover the girl's other side. Chaos snorted, warning him they'd be leaning off to that side the entire way. Shaking his ears again, Phanpy did not respond, merely kept pace with him. The three riding on him were talking animately about whatever fancied them. The girl was silent, eyes downcast, as she fiddled with the Tech yet again. Seemingly happy with what she had just done, she leaned in close to him, ignoring the Phanpy. Oh, this was going to be a fun trip. Edited by Roses are Red, Jan 23 2011, 09:12 PM.
