The bull shook his head, watching the two birds stumble. He grunted happily, glancing over where he thought the Pidgey had flown off to. He snorted a thank you and squared himself up. The two Spearow were starting to come back around and he needed to keep his attention on them for just a little longer until he managed to either knock them out or drive them off. "Chaos." He froze. The Tauros glanced behind him and stared at the girl. She was standing which was not saying much in the tall grass but she was visible. He snorted, stomping a hoof at her. She was staring up at the sky, dazed alomst. Chaos lowed at her, trying to get her to hide again. Either her hearing had become selective or she honestly could not hear him. The last thing he needed was to have her being attacked as well. The Spearow were probably out for blood now that he had knocked them both down. The fact that Pidgey had ditched him for the moment was not a pleasant thought either. The Spearow were getting themselves back together now and he needed to distract the birds to keep them away from her. Lowing loudly, he roared at them to come and get him, aiming for what looked like the ground-bound one. He pawed the earth, letting his tails once again whip at his sides. He'd need to take one of them out quickly to ensure he could keep both birds' attention on him. A Tackle and a Headbutt to the one scrambling about the ground would be the ideal way to do this. He snorted and charged, aiming low for the little bird. |

Route 5 Chaos quickly charged at the grounded bird, when he was almost a foot away, the bird flapped his wings and tried to get away.. Needless to say, he was unsuccessful. Chaos hit the male Spearow hard with a Tackle, causing it to fall back a few feet, and the Tauros wasn’t finished yet. He continued his charge, and when he could he quickly gave the Spearow a good Headbutt attack, doing some critical damage! The Spearow was sent rolling backwards, Headbutt was a very strong move, and the ending blow caused the bird to faint! Well there went one, but where had the other gone? Chaos would begin looking for the bird, which quickly came flying back out of the tree. The female Spearow had taken shelter in the apple tree, while your Tauros owned her friend. The female Spearow swooped down, and gave Tauros a quick Peck on his head, causing quite a bit of damage. Your winged enemy then landed a few feet in front of your pokemon, and let off a loud Growl! Well, you had made it through the first Spearow without being hurt, but it wasn’t looking so good this turn. The female Pidgey was ready to fight, she wasn’t going to let you get on of those apples unless you defeated her fair and square. Luckily you had an ally who was close by, Pidgey should make this battle a piece of cake, right? The brown bird flew at the Spearow using a tackle attack; the bird was knocked to the ground, but quickly recovered. This Pidgey friend of yours, was quite sneaky.. I don’t know if I really liked that, but luckily I’m not there.. Anyways, this turn was over. Chaos had taken a bit of damage, and had his attack lowered, but Pidgey managed to get in a decent hit. The Spearow on the other hand, was still on the ground.. Hm, I wonder why? You! Enemies! |

He grunted at the Pidgey, nodding in appreciation for the help. His head was still hurting from the peck. That bird had a sharp beak! He shook his head, looking over at the Spearow. It was on the ground after the Pidgey had attacked it. Well, served it right for the two of them ganging up on the Pidgey. Now that the bird was ground-bound for the moment he could get in a couple of strikes before it took off into the air. He squared his shoulders up, concentrating on putting his strength into his neck. He pawed the ground, tails whipping frantically. A good Headbutt and a Tackle should shut the bird up. If it flew off, well he might be able to reach it with his long tails with a Tail Whip. On the sidelines, Kayla stared, perplexed at the sight. The Pidgey was flying around, obviously helping Chaos with the battle. The bull had never looked more determined to defeat a Pokemon. Her head tilted and she stared down at the thing around her wrist. The green watch was silent, although she was not sure what she expected. Her hand covered it for a moment, fingers running over the smooth plastic. It beeped softly and she drew back. Characters flashed on the screen and she stared at them. The word 'trainer' caught her attention then before a list flew by. A trainer? She thought back, could see someone talking to her. Who was he? Defining details slipped and she tried grasping at ones that made sense. Beard, mustache, shaven? It was a man but age and clothes had faded now. Even the reason for this thing had escaped her. Trainer still rang through her mind. Was that what she was now? She looked up at Chaos, fighting against the Spearow. Her eyes rolled up to stare at the Pidgey. The bull was fighting to get the bird to join them. Blinking, coherency flashed into her mind. She was a trainer and she should act like the ones she had seen around her home place. Standing straighter, she concentrated on the battle at hand. [tl;dr Chaos to use Headbutt and Tackle, will use Tail Whip if the Spearow goes into the air instead of Headbutt and/or Tackle] |

Route 5 You had ordered Tauros to use Headbutt, and then a tackle or Tail Whip, depending on weither or not the Spearow continued to stay down on the ground. Chaos quickly charged at the bird, which quickly began flapping her wings, and began lifting of the ground. That was when Pidgey struck. The bird pokemon somehow managed to get behind the Spearow, and before the other bird could react, Pidgey slammed hard into it with Tackle. The Spearow was forced forward towards Chaos, who immediately followed through with a Headbutt. The Headbutt hit hard, and actually caused the Spearow to hit the ground rolling. Chaos quickly charged at it once more, and gave it a tackle, causing the pokemon to rolling again! One would think that by taking a beating like that, the pokemon would be out for the count, however she wasn’t. The female Spearow seriously took a good beating, but she was still conscious. She slowly made it up to her feet, but not for long. Pidgey quickly swooped back behind her, giving her one last tackle and ending this battle. Pidgey gave a victory cry since she delivered the final blow to the Spearow. Well it seemed this match was over, you could catch the Spearows if you wanted, or just one of them, and if I’m not mistaken, you still owe Pidgey one of those apples… Congratulations! [Thanks Vlad!] Chaos lowed loudly, claiming victory over the two birds. Well, he had some help as well. The Pidgey seemed to have risen up well against the bullying with someone to back him up. He snorted and turned to find Kayla. Surprisingly, the girl was right behind him, a dazed smile on her face. Her hand ran down his flanks and patted his thigh. He grunted, turning to nuzzle her. She nuzzled back, the grin spreading. She pointed at him then at her watch. "Trainer." He blinked, startled. Well, the little girl was just popping up with a load of surprises today. It was her second word since they had left the boat. However, when the Pidgey fluttered up, she squeaked and hung behind him. Well, one step at a time. He grunted a thanks at the Pidgey, nodding his massive head. He jerked one horn to the tree now Spearow-free. Snorting, he gently led the girl over to the apple tree. Chaos had Kayla stand off to the side and squared himself up. Lowering his head, he charged the tree and rammed it just hard enough to shake some of the apples loose from the branches. She squealed and ran to pick one up. Carefully, she rubbed it (somewhat) clean on her shirt and bit in. Her face screwed up but she laughed and continued eating. Chaos grunted happily and browsed the ground, ripping grass up. He kept a figurative ear on the Pidgey as he finally gave in and bit an apple in half. The bird seemed happy enough, he had some apples and the Spearow were still unconscious. The Tauros rolled his shoulders and approached the where the Pidgey was. He formerly thanked the bird, bowing his head in respect. Straightening, he asked if the Pidgey would join up with them on whatever quest they were doing. Chaos was not entirely sure of it but the bird's knowledge would help them get through the land easier than without him. Kayla watched the two, unsure of what was actually being said. A small thought seemed to have an answer on what the conversation was about although she was not sure if it was true. Settling in, she pulled off her bag and began picking up some of the uneaten apples to save for later when she found some odd red and white balls in it. Blinking, she pulled one out and stared at it. A rather crude 'C' was carved on the red part. Kayla reached in and pulled out another ball and found no carving on it. She stared at it in slight wonder, trying to piece together what it was supposed to do. |

Route 5 Well I must say, that was quite the battle. This Pidgey was a sneaky one, could you trust it? Chaos seemed thankful for it however, and regardless of the trickery it might pull, it would easily make an excellent addition to your team in your journey.. or whatever it was you had wanted to do. The Pidgey continued eating the Sour Apple, finally being able to enjoy the fruits that were long guarded by those two Spearows. Chaos also enjoyed the apples as well. However both their attention seemed to turn to you when you began snatching some of the red fruits and stuffing them into your backpack. Pidgey was probably the most curious. He wanted more of them, and you were taking them. I guess that only proved more of an incentive for him to join you. When you grabbed one of the Pokeballs, both Pokemon looked at you with varying expressions. Chaos was wondering what exactly you were trying to do, while the Pidgey was more wondering why you weren’t using the ball. The bird turned to Chaos, with a confused expression almost as if to say ‘Does she know what to do with that?’ Chaos looked back and forth between you and the bird, then shook his head. The Pidgey then flew over to you, startling you - Chaos suddenly turned his attention solely on the bird, cautious of what the bird might try. In your surprised state of mind, you accidentally dropped the ball you were holding, and it rolled near the Pidgey. Using his beak and his wings he began trying to explain to you how to use it. Odd - A Pidgey that knew how to capture Pokemon? It was smart, that was for sure. The Pidgey pecked the ball, and then scooped it up with its wing. He flicked it a little bit, trying to indicate that you needed to throw it at the Pokemon, as the ball hit your backpack. He hopped over to the ball, and nudged against it, as if to say ‘You throw it at the Pokemon.’ Tauros seemed to be getting it, but were you? The Pidgey nuzzled the ball over to you, and then hopped back. It seemed happier around you now. You had destroyed its house, but you helped it get some of the allusive sour apples, and even promised to help find a home. Possibly against its better judgement, it was willing to be captured by you and join you two on your journey. So what were you going to do? Did you understand what the Pidgey was telling you to do? AN: Sorry its a little weird. Second ref. Anyways, hope you enjoyed it. |

[Naw, thanks Tari :3] Chaos shook his head at the Pidgey. He told the bird of what had happened when he had first gone into the PokeBall and the giant mess that had turned her into. Upset was not even a word to begin to describe it. Even him popping back out at her sudden outcry did not console her completely. It had taken a good ten minutes before he could talk with her. Kayla watched the bird in fascination although when he looked up at her, she turned away. The bird was messing with the ball and she was curious, she really was but the bird's eyes still scared her. They were unknown and she did not like the unknown. The two Pokemon stared at her. They seemed to want her to do something. She looked up at Chaos, questioning his gaze. The bull nudged the ball back to her. She curled her fingers around it, receiving a nod from the big bull. He flung his head up, being mindful of where the tree was to prevent him from getting stuck. 'Throw.' She blinked and then understanding clicked in. Carefully, she tossed the ball at the bird, watching it soar. |

Finally, you seemed to get it - at least, that's what the Pidgey thought, for he had been wondering exactly how you came to travel with this Tauros if you didn't even understand the concept of a pokéball... but then he didn't really place much faith in the intelligence of humanity, so it wasn't a big surprise for him. The bird watched the ball fly towards it with an almost disdainful expression, but otherwise waited calmly for the impact. The hit was quick, followed by that classic flash of light and then the prompt de-materialising of the pokémon so that it fit smugly inside the tiny space of the pokéball. As if to show that he wasn't agreeing to this because he wanted to submit to you, the pokéball gave a rebellious wiggle before the catchment 'ding'. Of course, considering your past displeasures at seeing Chaos disappear in a flash of light, it's probably safe to assume that this event wasn't going to go down well. However, as Chaos would quickly sense with his heightened hearing - and, perhaps, smell - you two were about to have something else to concern yourself with. It sounded, to invoke a cliché, like the rumble of thunder. It had been in the background for a short while, but only now became noticeable. The only thing which prevented it from being louder was the soft, earthy nature of the ground here, for I can confirm that the noise came from many hooves. Many exceptionally hard hooves, to clarify, and they were moving with considerable speed. The flames were easiest to spot, being bright against the green of the grass and trees. Soon the white bodies were clear, but more importantly, the danger was clear; a Ponyta herd of respectable size was moving, fast, roughly in your direction. The thickest of the stampede would not likely strike you - but that was assuming that it continued in the same direction. It was also unclear why the blazing horses were on the run; was it just an enthusiastic migration, a game, or... were they being chased? Congratulations! was caught.

As soon as the Pidgey was out of sight, panic gripped her. She cried out and scrambled for the ball. Where had he gone? Her hands fumbled the capture device as she struggled to open it back up. Kayla whined sharply, trying to pry the ball open. Her fingers hit the release button accidentally. The red laser shot out and reformed into the little bird. He stretched his wings and squeaked when the girl's hands fell on him. They were gentle as they raced over him. Her eyes stayed downcast and she suddenly retracted back as though on fire. He blinked, staring up at her. Both hands were clutched at her chest and her eyes were hidden by the straggly hair. That was...odd. Chaos had his senses away from the scene. The ground was rumbling and it seemed like a familiar thunder. He strained his hearing, trying to pinpoint the direction it was in. It was getting louder and coming from his left. He straightened up, trying to see what was coming. Pidgey seemed to have felt it too and was chirping. Kayla was stock still on the ground, curled up and silent. The bird took off into the air, flapping up above him and into the apple tree. He squawked, bristling. Chaos groaned at the news. Ponyta. Well, at least it was not Tauros rampaging. That he would not want to deal with. Whatever was making them run would not be far behind. It would be best for them to move out of the way before they got here. He grunted, nudging Kayla. She remained as still as a statue. He snorted, shoving his nose under her arm and tried to force her up to her feet. She still did not move. Running out of time to get her going, he grabbed the back of her shirt in his teeth and yanked her up. Chaos trotted out of the danger zone, giving the charging herd a good twenty feet of distance. Pidgey had flown over and landed gently on his horn. He put himself between the herd and Kayla, watching the hooves carefully. What was causing them to stampede now? |

As the Ponyta rushed past, now at a safe distance, you three were able to wait and see if the cause became apparent. The Ponyta herd, as was to be expected, had no particular reason to harm you, and seemed to sail past in a loose sea of fire, completely oblivious or uncaring of your presence. It took a minute or so for the entirety of the stampede to make its way past you, at which point you noticed that, well, there seemed to be no reason for the stampede in the first place. There was nothing chasing the tail of the herd, nor anything in sight at all; the herd had roughly emerged from a loose-but-wide grouping of trees. If the reason for the stampede was anywhere nearby, it'd be in that direction. Of course, maybe it hadn't been for fright at all... but Chaos would quickly be able to tell you otherwise; that hadn't been the flight of playful Ponyta, but a genuine fleeing from potential danger. Of course, just how flighty and nervous the herd was was hard to tell. Ponyta had far more varying temperaments than, say, Tauros. The question which remained was whether or not they had run from a genuine threat. As the sounds of the stampede died down, the imposing noise still fresh in all yours minds', it took a few moments for another to replace it. It came from the direction of those trees, and was fairly distant - but also highly recognisable. Again, Chaos was at an advantage, for it had been the angry bellow of an infuriated (likely Anger-Point-triggered) Tauros. Just what he'd wanted to avoid. The roars continued at quite a steady, frequent pace. Fortunately, from the sounds of the distant bellows, it was only one Tauros, or, at worst, very few. One very, very distressed Tauros. |

Pidgey shifted on his safe perch. The Ponyta rushed by and Chaos could actually smell the fear rushing off of them. Kayla was still in what appeared to be a catatonic state, unmoving as the herd rushed by. The heat was incredible and he was glad they were not bursting everything into flames around them. He snorted, watching the flying legs. Nothing seemed to be snapping at the heels of the horses and, as the last ones went racing by, nothing was following after them. Pidgey chirped in question, stretching his neck up to watch the retreating herd fade into the distance. What was that all about? Chaos grunted but then turned to where the Ponyta had retreated from. Something was bellowing very loudly and he was certain of the sound. A Tauros. Of course. Pidgey clicked his beak. Yes, he did sound like he was in trouble. Yes, it was true he was another Tauros and should help him. Tauros though, he related, were notoriously attacking each other for little to no reason. Why? It was their nature. He did not understand it anyways. Kayla's head snapped up at the sound. As Chaos and Pidgey sat, bickering over the natures of Tauros, she rolled to her knees and stared at the small circle of trees. She glanced at Chaos, snorting and lowing at the chirping Pidgey. Her eyes locked on the trees and she climbed to her feet. It sounded like Chaos was down there but he was up here. Confused, she glanced between the Tauros and trees. Few thoughts raced through her mind and, without warning, she suddenly took off to the trees. Chaos grunted at the bird, threatening to shake his head if he did not stop pestering him about it. He heard something falling on the ground and he glanced up, seeing the girl running away. The bull turned back to his argument with the bird when it finally clicked. Bellowing, he called after her. Damn she was fast. He reared up and galloped after her, hoping to catch up in time. Pidgey squawked in surprise and let go, fluttering up into the air. He chirped after the bull, flying as fast as he could after him. The girl had nearly made it to the trees by the time the bull had caught up. Pidgey circled above them as Chaos tried to stop her from getting any closer. They were too close though and Kayla was pretty slippery for a human. She squeezed past the bull and slid into the trees. Chaos roared and chased after her again, hoping the other Tauros would not charge her. |

As you rushed right past your bull, who was slowly trying to catch up to the best of his ability, you heard the sound of the distressed bull coming closer. Obviously, this was a result of you getting closer. As you raced into the trees, the Tauros was quickly seen. Unfortunately, you rushed straight past it since you apparently were just running/limping randomly toward nothing. But that's okay, because you could see quickly what was going on. The Tauros was being attacked, and badly. It looked like two Doduos were asserting their authority on the poor creature, and it didn't look like they were going to stop without your intervention. The Tauros had holes poked into his body where the bird Pokemon were attacking him, and he was bleeding quite a lot. He wasn't exactly ready to fight either; I'm sure he was at one point, but he was being beaten too badly to retaliate now. It looked like it was about time for you, or Chaos, or someone to help! Chaos groaned as the girl finally stopped. He really needed to pay more attention. He was about to scold her when he finally caught sight of what was going on. The two birds, Doduo he was sure, had surrounded another bull. They cawed and pecked at the Tauros, refusing to let it get away from their assault. He snorted, noticing the many wounds all along his side. Pidgey flapped up, talons reaching out to grasp Chaos' horns. Kayla tugged on his mane and he turned carefully. Tears were in her eyes as she whined, pointing at the Tauros. He had a feeling he was going to have to do something or earn her scorn for as long as she remembered. Whether that would be an hour or several days, he did not know but just seeing her upset was distressing enough. Pidgey shifted on his head and he snorted, letting the bird know that they would be taking the Doduos on. The Pidgey squawked softly, asking if they could reconsider. Chaos though lowed loudly and pawed the ground, attempting to get the birds' attention. Either way, he was going to charge the closest one and strike with a Headbutt and drive it further away with a Tackle. Pidgey fluttered off of the bull's head, soaring up into the air. Well, he had joined up and the girl obviously wanted to help the wounded Tauros. He did not have to agree but the two birds were fast and he had the advantage of the sky. It looked like Chaos had the one closest to him so he should probably focus on the one farthest away. He drew himself up and went into a dive at the second Doduo, aiming to Tackle the two-headed bird and whip up a Sand-Attack to try and blind it after. [tl;dr Tauros to use Headbutt and Tackle on the one closest to him; Pidgey to use Tackle from the sky and Sand-Attack on the other Doduo] |

Route 5 A grove of trees With your Pokemon autonomously settling on how they would go about saving the Tauros, there was, as to be expected from the oft-silent trainer, nothing spoken. This meant that the only sounds lingering in the air were the tortured cries of the bull, as he continued to suffer this abuse. The Doduo, accordingly, remained oblivious to your approach and your Pokemon's plan to attack, as they continued to peck away. This, of course, played into Chaos and Pidgey's The Headbutted Doduo responded first, both of its heads looking up before it had gotten to its talons, and issuing a weak Growl. This display of fraility had a subconscious effect on both of your Pokemon, luring them into a false sense of security and making their coming attacks less potent than before. The Doduo, however, were no better off, scared by the appearance of this second, much less vulnerable Tauros, who was in the process of kicking ass. As Pidgey flapped up leaves and dirt at his Doduo, it launched at him with surprising speed, a successful Quick Attack smacking the airborn avian back, but also propelling all four of his own eyes into the Sand Attack. He tried to continue his assault unabashed, flinging both heads forward in pecking motions, but he met only with air, as Pidgey righted himself in mid-air. Chaos, meanwhile, leapt over the other Tauros, Tackling into his target with brutal aggression and slamming it hard into the floor. It responded in the only way it could, writhing and struggling underneath him, and pecking meekly at his exposed chest, just under his mane. This was a furious exchange of blows, all very close to the other Tauros who, were he not so injured, would probably have a much more violent response. Instead, he simply lay there, bleeding ever more onto the forest litter, his loud calls having meandered into weak moos. Uh oh. Pidgey fluttered up and above the bird's reach. The two-headed creature was fast, he would give him that. He flapped up safely, eyeing the battle between Chaos and the other Doduo. The bull had pinned the bird underneath him although it was fighting back. The Tauros lowed loudly though and slammed into it again. The other bull lay nearly still on the ground. It really did not look too good as it continued to bleed. Well, if they dealt with the birds quick enough they...well, they would think of something. Right now, he wanted to slam that bird to the ground. After taking crap from those Spearows for so long, it felt good to finally be able to fight back. He would dive in for another Tackle then swoop back and strike him with another Tackle from behind. Chaos snorted, backing off of the bird. He grunted, head low to the ground. His tails whipped his flanks viciously as his blood burned. He was going to be incredibly mellow after this. Pawing the ground, he shook his head at the bird in warning. If it backed off, it could leave without a horn up its ass. If not, well, he could not guarantee it would be a painless fight. His hooves shook the ground as he reared up. If the bird did not leave, he would charge in for another Headbutt and then swing back around for another one. He eyed the long legs, knowing the bird could easily jump over him. Well, he could be a bucking bronco and slam into it from below by jumping up, substituting a Tackle for the Headbutts. Kayla edged closer to the hurt Tauros, unsure of what she was doing. The bull was very still, looking sicker and sicker by the minute. Her eyes were locked on the ground in front of the bull. Her hand reached out to stroke down the muzzle, to offer some sort of comfort to him.
