[ On the Way to Nogou Village! ] [ Pichu Egg :: 5 / 5 ] Because I want to be a pain, I am going to do the tutors first. Ninetales had spread out her tails once more, taking up much of the path to herself. With a full mind, focused on finding her inner strength, it was no shock to you that the small orbs came back, a bit quickly then last time and a little bigger as well. She thought of what you said, with the two moves and all. The only thing was she wasn't sweating the move out, and she seemed confident so I couldn't make another pointless joke there. Standing strong with her out-stretched tails, Ninetales slowly built up the orbs. They seemed to be round, only becoming rough and unsmooth for mere seconds. What she needed now was her element and power. Maybe even some fire and aim practice. Moving onto the Hoothoot, who had fortunately learning a sweet recovering moves. You seemed to go with my advice on hurting the owl before moving on. Listening to me was never a good thing, I don't know why you did (lol ). Either way, the Meowth came out and seemed to ponder on your decision, but seeing as he wouldn't get hit back, why not? A simple Scratch didn't do too much. But as Hoothoot perched on the trees, you found him slightly glowing and the cut closing up until it left a red line and a really red surrounding spot. Maybe cause even more damage. As an added bonus... YOUR EGG DIDN'T HATCH! Alright, alright. I'm kidding. As the egg wiggled about violently, you brought it to your front where it hatched and nearly tossed a piece of egg shell in your eye. As the baby mouse looked at you, it squeaked. This thing was cute, but it gave you a little shock as you held it.

The egg split open as the shell continued to crack, bits and pieces of it flaking off down onto Reese’s lap. He watched the little one fight his way into existence with a face glowing with wonder, completely captivated, as a soul was released into the world for the first time. The little one kicked at the egg shells, flailing his little arms and wailing, terrified of the light and of the sound of his own cries. His eyes were clenched shut as he continued to wail in Reese’s lap, who had slowly lifted his hands up away from the disfigured egg shell that was now scattered everywhere. His hands were shaking with anticipation. He snaked his left hand down underneath the little one, pulling him gently up from the bottom of the shell, and then wrapped his other hand (the one with the wool, but fingerless, glove) around its little body to try and warm it up. The feeling of Reese’s cold fingertips startled the little mouse, causing a crackle of electricity to erupt from his pink cheeks and shock the poor thief. But it was only a little jolt; he hadn’t been hurt by the small spark. He tried bringing the little one closer to him, wrapping his arms around him in a way that a mother would hold her newborn child against her body. He looked down to him with his gentle eyes and began to whistle, trying to coax the little one to open his eyes and take a gander at this new world he was in. Slowly the little ones squinted eyes began to twitch as his little stubby hands reached for his face, rubbing at his eyelids tiredly before his eye began to flicker open. His eyes were bright, big, and his dark grey pupils glowing that sent ominous sensations tingling down Reese’s spine. He shuddered. Looking back to the little mouse, he now saw how its eyes were darting from side to side, studying all of the Pokemon that surrounded him. Marilyn, who had crept up behind Reese to comfort him, nuzzled at her master’s face and then began making sounds towards the little one –as if to greet him. Own was to their left, balancing on his one leg as he tilted his head from side to side, hooting at the little mouse that began to wiggle uncomfortably in Reese’s arms. Greta floated around Reese to the right. Her eyes were cold and she merely nodded towards the little one before disappearing from sight. And then Mishka, Reese’s new Zangoose, stood across from him with arms crossed –gazing down at the little one with a frown. With her head leaning over Reese’s shoulder, Marilyn began to coo towards the little one, who giggled and reached up for the fox to carry him. Reese lifted the mouse up so that Marilyn could grab the scruff of his neck with her mouth before turning her head around and placing him on her back. The Pichu squeaked and snuggled into the creature’s soft, warm fur –quickly falling asleep on her back. Smiling Reese slowly picked himself up and was know kneeling before his Ninetales. He clasped his hands around her face and pressed their foreheads together, smiling, before he moved away and continued to rise to his feet. His prosthetic leg made a sharp sound as he straightened his legs out. It was nothing to worry about; just his mechanical joints readjusting to a new position after having sat for so long. Turing away for Marilyn for a second, Reese stared at his team and smiled. “Whelp I think it’s about time we head out” he said with an accent, “don’t’cha think?” Owen and Greta nodded as their master held out their Pokeballs, returning them for a short rest. With a nod of his head he beckoned Mishka to follow –for he still had plans with her. Marilyn gently twirled her body around so that Reese could pick up the little mouse off of her back, and he did so gingerly. The little one didn’t stir at all. He held him in one arm as he reached down to his belt for another Pokeball, returning Marilyn so that she too could get a nice long rest. They still had a way to go on their journey to Nogou, and Reese wanted to save the strongest of his team in case something happened to blow past them. For now, he had decided, he would settle for raising Cole (whom he had just named the Pichu) and Mishka a little bit more. With Marilyn clipped to his belt he was then able to wrap both arms around Cole, providing better support for the both of them, and then he nodded for the Zangoose to follow. A small wind kicked up behind them, causing his hair to blow and the tails of his scarf to dance around behind him. Mishka’s tail flickered in the wind and her ears twitched, for she was on full alert to find something to battle against so that she could improve her strength. [Continuing to Nogou for Kaz's plot] [Named the newly hatched Pichu "Cole"] [Mishka is looking for potential Pokemon to battle] |

RANDOM SIDE-PLOT INTERVENTION GOGOGOGOGO- Okay, so maybe not random, but definitely an intervention involving a side plot. You and your posse of magical creatures known as Pokemon were just walking to Nogou. Seriously? That's it? I expected to come into this ref and seeing you slaying dragons and saving princesses and then slaying princesses on dragons. Wait, that's not how Pokemon works? Well then, I signed up for the wrong job... but I guess I don't have much of a choice right now. So I guess something magical is supposed to happen on the way to Nogou, but seriously, there's only trees and greenery on the way there, maybe a few Pokemon... this must be why you're trying to get there so quickly. Well actually, there's a swamp. I guess that's pretty cool. Alright you know what? Let's make something totally unexpected and not related to your plot at all happen. You went across the first part of Route 4 pretty easily, and oddly enough Mishka found no Pokemon to fight. Maybe they saw that your Zangoose was scary as hell and didn't want to take chances? Anyway, you get to Duijok Swamp, and still no Pokemon. Sure, this was a creepy swamp with a lot of Pokemon that were probably just as scary as Mishka, but there was not one Pokemon to be found. I'm sure if Mishka really tried she could find one, but you're doing this on the way to Nogou right? She didn't have that kind of time. Without Pokemon to fight, it was a rather easy journey through the swamp, and not long after you entered the dark, cold, and creepy depths of the swamp you were out of it and back into the sun and Route 4. It had been an easy journey, but a long one, and it was time to take a quick rest before continuing. You managed to find a river flowing along the side of the route, and so you stopped there to enjoy the scenery and give your Pokemon a drink. Little Cole woke up around this time, after hearing the rush of the water running by, and looked up at you, happy to be so comfortable. As you were looking into your Pichu's eyes, wondering how something could be so adorable you heard something weird... "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-" As your gaze darted toward the river by instinct, you saw a Weedle practically flying down the river. And it looked to be having fun. Seriously, what the hell is going on? Naturally you looked down the river to see what was going on, and you saw a little orange Pokemon standing on a rock, with a Weedle in his paws... ![]() He yelled back up river, a loud "BUUIIIIIZEL!" that sounded like he was notifying another Pokemon of something. Looking up-river, you saw at least 10 Pokemon of varying species and sizes hanging out near the river bank. What was this river, the Pokemon's personal water slide? As you thought about this, another Pokemon, Pachirisu, came barreling down the river, tumbling and rolling with the current. Once again Buizel caught the falling Pokemon and chucked her onto the river bank, safe and sound. I guess you could let the Pokemon play, or maybe you could join in on the fun? It's up to you. Oh yeah, and if you stuck your foot in the water, you'd realize that this wasn't really much of a river at all; about 3 feet deep, this was a perfect little creek for, say, water sliding? =D |

The Many Faces of Crosse

Reese grimaced as he hiked through the muck and grime. The swamp smelt of mothballs and steaming bowels that seemed to choke out the rest of the air. The young boy’s nose twitched at all of the smells, his eyes watering, as he maneuvered one arm around his neck so that he could pull his scarf up over his nose. Hoping that it would serve as a decent shield against the odors, Reese took in a deep breath, and continued to trudge through the dark cold waters. He looked around at the scenery for a while; everything seemed dark and uninviting. Reese looked around for movements, for some sign of life, but the only things that caught his eyes were that massive bubbles that were bloating along the black surface of the water. They popped when Reese neared them, causing a massive stench to explode and intoxicate the air around him. It was so vile he could actually see little Cole twitching in his sleep, as if he was having a bad dream, that was brought on by the mere stench of the Duijok Swamp. Reese coughed and rubbed his nose beneath his scarf, then wiped at his eyes with his glove on the back of his hand. That was when he finally noticed Mishka, who wasn’t having the time of her life as well. The feline hissed as she waded through the water besides Reese, looking for any log or rock that she could perch herself upon just to get away the wet ground. But there was nothing in sight, and there were no potential opponents around that could keep her distracted either; so she was going to have to tough it out for now. Every now and then she raised her arms high above her head –especially at places where the water rose to about her waist line. She be damned if she let that gunk get all over her precious claws. Just then though, her massive pointed ears twitched over in one direction, and her head quickly turned towards the same location. Reese looked down to her, somewhat confused, but when Mishka returned the look she seemed to gesture at him to follow her –and he did so. The two of them continued to trudge through the grime in a position a little west of their previous path, and soon enough they both came to a patch of dry land. Mishka literally ran for it. She leapt up onto the solid ground and literally landed on all fours. And then, just like the stereotypical cat, she shook her body wildly to shake off all of the muck and grime that was clinging to her fur. Despite how much it felt like the shit was just going to stick to her coat, the moment she shook her body it all fell off of her fur and onto the ground with little difficulty at all. The Zangoose smiled and waved Reese to hurry on with her big claws and then began to scrape them together to polish them as she waited for him to hurry up. Having Cole in his arms though slowed him down a lot more than he wanted to; the extra weight wasn’t helping free him from the sticky slime whatsoever. But in the end he managed to free himself without losing his fake leg to the pool of quicksand made from putrid water and mud. Reese collapsed down onto the ground and onto his bum, Cole still cradled in his arms. The little one stirred away soon thereafter and jumped out of Reese’s arms, giving him a little relief from not having to carry around all of that extra weight. The baby Pichu darted over to Mishka and began to pull on her tail, as if he wanted to play, but the big feline looked down to him and hissed –she wasn’t in a mood to play. And of course Cole’s eyes widened to three times their size and began to fill with tears that very moment, which caused Mishka to roll her eyes and lift the little one up and onto her head between her two gorgeous ears. Cole giggled and snuggled into her fur like a baby, rolling around on top of her skull, but when Mishka started moving he grasped onto her ears with each of his little paws for he was afraid to fall off from such a height. Together then, with Reese finally up off of his ass, the three of them continued towards a little creek that was rushing over yonder. That was when Reese saw the Buizel. "Would you look at that!" whispered Reese as he gazed up the creek towards the Buizel who stood catching Pokemon on his rock. His eyes slowly tilted upwards to the top of the slide, which was when he saw all of the Pokemon waiting in line to ride down this little ride. He smiled brightly; it was always so interesting to watch wild Pokemon at play like this. He thought about how his team would possibly like to play along, so he reached down to his belt, when he stopped. Marilyn hated the water. Greta couldn't technically ride down a slide being a ghost and all. That and Owen wouldn't participate in something like this. Well, that only left him with Cole and Mishka --and he already knew that Mishka wouldn't go in the water if she didn't have to. So, really, that only left Cole. Shaking his head from side to side Reese turned to Mishka to lift Cole off of her head, when he noticed that he was gone. His heart sank. Mishka, confused with his trainer, looked up and saw that there wasn't a little yellow face peering over between her ears. The damn Pichu had literally sneaked away from the two of them! Slightly hysterical Reese spun around to look for Cole and he caught him waddling over to the Buizel. Reese raised his hand and pointed at the Pichu and called out to Mishka, "Mishka, stop him!" In a flash the feline disappeared from his side and re-appeared behind Cole. Her right clawed hand slammed down into the ground an inch in front of Cole, creating a barrier between him and his route up to the the Buizel. Reese slowly blinked himself back to consciousness and ran up to the little one, scooping Cole up from between Mishka and her arm that was imbedded in the dirt. He quickly scooped up the little one into his arms and said to him in a hushed voice: "Cole you can't run off like that! I could have lost you and these Pokemon might be hostile towards trainer owned Pokemon like you; you have to be careful." the Pichu tilted his head to the side, then the other side, and brushed off his trainers words and looked over to the slide. He tugged at Reese's sleeve with one hand and pointed at the top of the slide with another as he began to cry out: "Pichu pi!" Reese sighed. Cole was still too young to understand anything like that. He looked down to Mishka for her to take lead, just to make sure that the group of Pokemon were not hostile. If they didn't like Reese and Cole being around, Mishka would stop them all before they ever laid a hand on them! Nodding to himself Reese moved closer to the Buizel. "Buizel?" he said, "Hey there, my name is Reese and this here is Cole. He'd like to take a turn on your guys slide, if you don't mind.." |

As Cole made his way to Buizel, squeaking the whole way, Buizel looked at the Pichu curiously. Then Mishka smashed her hand into the ground just in front of Cole (real charming by the way), blocking his path, and Buizel looked at Mishka even more curiously than he did Cole. Then you walked over and scooped up Cole into your arm, and Buizel had pretty much hit the tip of his curiosity. Then you spoke to the Buizel, and he lost all curiosity in favor of a sense of welcoming. He pointed up to the top of the water slide and nodded. That seems like an approval to me! Cole bounced on up to the top of the creek, making contented "Pi!" sounds as he walked. The various Pokemon up at the top made way for the little guy, probably because he was such a little tyke compared to the other, older Pokemon. Knowing that Cole was so small, a Ledyba lifted him up and half-chucked him down the creek, so that hopefully the speed would keep him from sinking, kind of like a skipped rock. Cole went sailing down the creek, squealing in delight, until he reached Buizel's checkpoint. Buizel caught him and flung him right into your hands, then called upward for the next Pokemon. The next Pokemon was a Surskit, who had the advantage of being able to actually sail upon the water. She slid down, quickly gathering speed as she skated across the surface; it didn't work nearly as well as if the water was completely still, but she managed to keep herself up. She was getting closer and closer to Buizel's waiting arms, but Buizel was suddenly knocked off of the rock by a large object. Surskit passed the rock and continued rolling down the stream, crying for help. Unfortunately help didn't come in time, for a Beedrill flew out from the forest across the stream and grabbed Surskit. Buizel, who had recovered quickly, propelled his way down the creek as fast as possible to try his luck at grabbing the Beedrill, but he had barely grabbed the bug's stinger before Beedrill yanked it out of his hands. Chaos erupted at the top of the creek. The older Pokemon ran straight into the forest in search of their friend, while the younger ones cried out in fear. Buizel got out of the water and stared into the forest, still baffled by what happened. The large object was laying at the bottom of the creek, scrambling to make it up to the surface. It made it once, releasing a terrified "PYYY!" before going under. Enraged, Buizel fired a Water Gun at the Phanpy, looking back at you and hoping you would help him. Alternatively, there was a Phanpy drowning just in front of you. The situation looked dire, and if you didn't help her soon, she'd probably breathe her last breaths full of water... ENCOUNTER: ![]()

Reese felt himself take a step back as he watched the Buizel fall off of his rock and into the stream, just as little Cole had finished waddling his way back to his master’s side. The Pichu tugged on his leg, asking to be held, but for some reason Reese didn’t seem to notice. That was when the little mouse turned around and saw that the Surskit flew past the landing zone and was captured by a group of Beedrill. Cole’s eyes grew three times their original size in seconds, swelling with tears, and he began to cry out and burry his face into Reese’s leg. The muffled cries from the little one quickly caught his attention, causing him to rush down in one swift movement and pick Cole up off of the ground and into his cradled arms. The mouse snuggled into Reese’s chest and continued to cry out, soaking the boys clothes, and quickly as Reese had snapped back into reality he was gone yet again. Looking around, he could see that Buizel had managed to climb out of the water and gain his footing once more. He couldn’t hear though; the sound of the water moving when the weasel climbed out and when he shook off on land was all muted. But then that was when he saw the little one fire off a Water Gun into the water. Just what was going on? Together Reese, Cole, and Mishka wandered closer to the Buizel and the edge of the small river. In a few minutes they were all side by side, Buizel crossing his arms, and looking down into the river while the other Pokemon waited at the top of the slide. Reese tilted his head to the side, what was that under the water? Suddenly Cole turned himself around in Reese’s arms and looked down into the water, then cried out and pointed toward the creature. Reese began to struggle with the Pichu, for he was flailing around and trying to get out off Reese’s arms to save the Phanphy that was slowly drowning beneath the surface. But Cole was way too young, way too weak, to take on any task like this. “Cole will you settle down?” muttered Reese when he finally got a hold of the little one. He then looked down to Mishka and handed him over to her. “Mishka," he said, ”watch Cole and for the love of god do not let him out of your sight or near the water.” With that out of the way, Reese then turned his attention to Buizel and held up the palms of his hands as if he was still showing that he was on his side. “Look,” Reese said to the Buizel, “I know the Phanphy messed everything up, but this isn’t the way! You can’t just let her drown like this! What if this was all an accident? I’ll go fetch her from the water and you can interrogate when I get her out, alright?” Reese hoped that the Buizel was still on his side; he knew that the weasel wanted to kill the elephant, but Reese couldn’t just let that happen without proof that this was a deliberate attack to get the Surskit stolen and possibly killed. With that, Reese stepped down into the creek off of the bank and began to search through the water for the Phanphy beneath the surface. Oh yes and he decided to release his new Paras, so that she may start making 'shrooms. Edited by Crosse, Aug 28 2011, 06:31 PM.

{My name is Paras, and I make 'shrooms =D } {Also, there was only one Beedrill :U} Route 4- Apparently Inside a Creek or Something Paras: Tinymushroom~ 1/10 Buizel looked at you and back at the Phanpy, and then back at you. He seemed to be battling some sort of inner demon that wanted him to take Phanpy out himself. Finally the Buizel jumped off of the rock and onto the other side of the creek, and didn't look back at you. He was obviously not going to help you in your endeavor, but his conscience wouldn't let him hinder your process. It took a while (apparently Phanpys weigh a lot more than you thought) but you got her out of the water. She sputtered on the over-watered grass, coughing up water and a little bit of something awful, before collapsing for a moment. Cole peered out from behind Mishka, much happier now that she was safe. The Phanpy looked up at you in thanks, but she realized the circumstances and turned away, embarrassed. Buizel waited for you for a moment, but he grew tired of your wallowing pity and bounded into the forest. You scrambled to get everyone together to follow. If you looked back, you could see the Phanpy meekly tracing your footsteps, afraid to make any sound in protest... {Sorry, crap ref T_T At least the next part will be more exciting.} |

Reese slowly slipped down into the cold water, carefully placing his feet on the shifting stones at the bottom of the river. He could feel his toes spread in his one foot, his body trying to grasp onto the slick stones beneath him --except it did nothing because he still had his shoes on. His prosthetic leg felt heavy and uncontrollable; the water was weighing him down and the current was literally trying to drag his leg away since he didn’t have any muscles to naturally resist the water. He had to struggle, but he pushed on for that little Phanphy’s life was at stake. He tried to steady his breathing as he pushed himself further into the river, his hands dancing across the surface of it as he tried to locate the small elephant. “Pichu, pichu pi!” cried Cole from behind Mishka’s arms, wanting nothing more than to rush out into the dangerous waters to help Reese save the poor wild Pokemon. The small mouse wiggled loose from Mishka for a split second and quickly waddled closer to the water’s edge, but the look on the Buizel’s face (who was standing on one of the rocks in the river) caused him to stop. He seemed mean and angry. Cole’s little eyes widened and began to swell with tears; why did his new friend want to watch the poor Phanphy die. He cried out again, but this time towards the Buizel, trying to beg him to go help Reese and that he was scared. Then out of nowhere Mishka reappeared, her claw dashing down from above her and scooping the mouse up off of the ground. She growled down to Cole, getting after him from running away and trying to get so close to something that was so dangerous. The baby Pokemon’s eyes swelled even larger than before and he began to cry once again. Mishka rolled her eyes and moved her arms around Cole, at first trying to restrain him, but then reluctantly she began to rock him to quite his frightened screams. Though Reese could hear everything going on, he didn’t turn back, for he had to get that Phanphy. Just then the new Paras crawled up besides Mishka, looking up to her curiously as the mushrooms on her back continued to slowly grow in the bright sun overhead. She made a few bubbling, hissing like crab noises as she asked just what the heck was going on. Mishka looked down to her and nodded, mumbling what had just happened to as she continued to rock Cole who was beginning to quite down --finally. The two of them quickly looked back up at the river as Reese pulled out the Phanphy from beneath the water, struggling to lift her up and keeping his own balance at the same time. Mishka narrowed her eyes and plucked Cole off of her and placed him onto the back of the Paras, growling at him to stay before running off to the edge of the river. Reese tripped when he was about half a foot away from the bank, the Phanphy flying out of his arms and rolling onto the grass until she flopped around and finally came to a stop. Mishka bent down over the edge of the river and caught Reese’s shoulders, preventing him from falling face first into the water, and helped tug him out and onto the bank. His hands fell on the grass as he pulled himself out of the water, when suddenly a rock from the bottom of the river caught his prosthetic foot in its evil clutches; all of him was out of the water except that one leg. “Shit,” he muttered under his breath, not even realizing that he was swearing (for he normally never does). Nodding Mishka came around and clamped her hands around his metal leg and yanked it out from between the rocks, allowing Reese to flop down onto the grass. He moaned; he didn’t want to move. Fighting the current proved to be much more of a struggle than he had predicted and so it literally sucked away at his energy, and his damp clothes were not helping the situation either. “Pichu pi!” squeaked Cole, jumping off f the Paras and running through the grass towards Reese. He came to the boys face, for he was still lying on the ground, and pressed his small hands against each of his cheeks and lifted his face so that they were eye to eye. The Pichu’s eyes were swelled with tears of worry as small streams of tears began to run down his face. “Don’t cry, Cole. It’s alright. I-I’m fine. Just a little tired..” he muttered, his body still strained from the struggle with the current. Reese rested his face back onto the damp grass, his hand slowly moving down to his belt to pull off another Pokeball from it. He brought the sphere to his face, just to be sure it was the right one, and he rolled it across the ground the release Greta. The ghost Pokemon took a few seconds looking around before she suddenly saw Reese' lying down on the floor, with Cole desperately trying to pick him up off the ground with his tee tiny body. A worrisome smile flickered across Greta's face as an odd hum began to itch in the back of the young man's mind. "What the hell happened to you? Did you lose a fight against a Magikarp?" "That's not very nice, Greta." "Never said I was, dear." With that, Reese finally managed to push himself up to his knees so that he was now eye to eye with his Zangoose, who was protectively circling her trainer until he could stand again. He quickly lifted his eyes as a thought crept past his consciousness, "what happened to Phanphy?". With a burst of adrenaline he rose to his feet, but ended up wobbling a bit and nearly fell back onto his ass from the vertigo. He shook his head, trying to clear the clouded dizziness that was trying to envelope his mind as he began to walk around and search for the Phanphy he saved. She wasn't anywhere! Where could she have gone! Hysterically Reese turned around to face the river once more, thinking over the possibilities that maybe he dropped her when he tripped, when suddenly he noticed an odd little from trailing behind him. Reese sighed; thank god she was okay. The little elephant kept her head down though, not wanting to look up to her savior for she probably felt embarrassed that she couldn't protect herself. Reese moved around, trying to get a better look at the little one, but with each step he took and each spin he made the little Phanphy kept managing to get behind him; she was following along in his footsteps like a long lost puppy. Reese rolled his eyes, then slowly bent down to the little elephant and pressed his palm upon her forehead. "It's okay," he said to the little one in a comforting voice, "you're safe now, nothing can hurt you." The elephant raised her eyes a little to see the young Pokemon trainer, but quickly they darted back down to the ground. It was almost like that even though she felt safe around Reese, she was ashamed or afraid to give him her full and undivided attention. Reese looked over his shoulder and waved Greta over, who manifested over his shoulder in a second. "Greta, ask her what happened; ask her why she attacked Buizel." "Hm. We are not going after the Buizel first?" "What are you talking about, Greta?" "Oho I know you all too well; we need to get going after that Buizel now if you want to catch it. And don't you dare protest, I can feel that desire lurking around inside of you to go get him. Besides, I need to show him a thing or two about manners --leaving you and that Phanphy in the river, ha, he's going to wish that he hadn't been such an uptight child." "Greta, I really don't want to talk about this right now. Just ask the Phanphy and relay the information to me, then we'll have Mishka track the Buizel's scent." Then Reese bout five lottery tickets.. Edited by Crosse, Sep 11 2011, 08:34 PM.

Pfft, Greta's freaking out about Buizel being a douche when Phanpy's the one that knocked him into the water? That seems kind of... switched? Whatever. The point was that you were lazy/tired/had a prosthetic leg weighed down by water which caused exhaustion/LAZY and needed to talk to the Phanpy through Greta. The little elephant didn't exactly look... thrilled... to be the target of an interrogation. Maybe it's because she was ashamed of looking at the friends of the Buizel. Or maybe she's just defiant. Meh. Greta had to take a few moments of hard work and mental coaxing before Phanpy would even let her into her mind. It's interesting, isn't it? How much we think we're open, when in reality the slightest thing can shut our minds out from everything else. This was a little different of course, as there was a legitimately major reason for this sort of shut-out, but still. Anyway, she finally gave Greta enough leeway to squeeze her way into her mind. Imagine yourself trying to go in between two walls that are just far enough apart to force your way through, and that's what Greta felt as she entered Phanpy's mind. Then the interrogation began. The girl was still guarded, but now Greta could recognize her thoughts, no matter how quickly they flit by; it made lying hard to do. Eventually Phanpy gave up the charade and chose to give Greta the story. L-Look, I didn't want to do that, honest! But where I live... to put it shortly, it's more of an evil place than a safe haven. But I can't leave, because then I won't have a home. So sometimes the one in charge, he orders us to do bad things. I don't know why; I don't know what the reason is. But I can't disobey him... If I do, he could kick me out, or worse... A quick picture of a Pikachu flit through Phanpy's mind into Greta's, before she completely shut out the Gastly. Hopefully that was what you needed to know; there wasn't much of a chance that you'd get any more out of her. |

Reese curiously raised an eyebrow as Greta floated back towards him, her misty body enveloping his mind like a dark fog. Her presence ripped apart at his senses, he couldn't see, he couldn't hear, he couldn't breath, he couldn't even feel his own weight pressing down with gravity down towards the ground. It was as if he was suspended in darkness, deprived of all senses, until a little voice ringed in the back of his head. This was weird. This wasn't Greta talking, this voice sounded, to soft, to sweet, to shy. Then it hit him; it was the voice of the little Phanphy. Reese looked around in the blackness, listening to the voice and trying to figure out where it was coming from. The more he thought, the more he realized that this was probably how Greta transmitted messages from Pokemon to People if she didn't just want to say it herself. Taking in a deep breath, Reese tried to calm himself, then closed his eyes and tried to concentrate solely on what the little Phanphy was telling him. When she stopped speaking, in an instant, the blackness was sucked away from his eyes and he could see again. Reese exhaled loudly. "What the hell was that?" "Hm? What are you talking about? You said you wanted to know what she said and I did just that." The boy shook his head and pressed the palm of his hand against his throbbing forehead. He groaned to himself; now wasn't the time to be worry about himself! He needed to help this Phanphy and then find out where the hell that Buizel had run off to. Now wasn't the time for headaches. Sighing Reese released the grip of his skull and looked over to Greta, glaring at her slightly, but she didn't seem to notice. She merely nodded towards the Phanphy, as if she was trying to tell him to hurry up and tell her what he needed to say to the Phanphy. The boy nodded back to her and turned away, rolling his eyes when she wasn't looking, then looked down towards the Phanphy. Sighing, he knelt down besides her, and held out a hand for her to sniff. "Hi there," he said, "my name is Reese. I'm going to help you out, okay?" He cautiously moved his hand towards the Phanphy, hoping that he would be able to place his palm upon the top of her head and give her a little affectionate pat. "You ready for me to talk to her again?" "Yah, ask her about this 'evil place' where she lives. Oh and ask her about this leader of theirs; I've got a feeling that we might have to deal with him eventually. " Reese looked down at the Phanphy again. She seemed so scared, so terrified, so trapped in a world that she couldn't escape --and Reese felt sorry for her. He smiled sweetly and tried to pet her again, as if he was trying to comfort her and tell her that everything would be all right. " I know you're scared," he then whispered to the little one, "it must be horrible thinking that you'd have nowhere to live or that someone might hurt you just because you chose to do the 'right' thing. But I'm not going to sit around at let that happen. I'll protect you. And if worst comes to worst you will always be welcomed to be a part of our family, our home, if you want." Reese's big brother traits were starting to kick in; he hated to see something so small suffer and be so terrified. All he wanted to do was to chase the little elephant's fears away... Then he bought five tickets from the lottery! Edited by Reese, Sep 24 2011, 05:27 PM.

Phanpy looked at you curiously as you moved your hand toward her. When she understood what you were trying to do, she jumped back, alarmed. Were you going to attack her? Your hand was awfully close to her head... But you continued to slowly move your hand nearer and nearer to her forehead. Finally she stopped inching away, and you gave her a pat on the head. The sound of you patting her head made her wince (the sound was like you slapping your hand on a rock), but she found that the sensation was much more harmless. Greta invaded her mind again and asked her the questions you wanted her to ask. Your voice is sort of scary... I live in the nearby forest, but it's not the area that's evil; it's the Pokemon there. Boss keeps the worst of the worst around him: Spinaraks, Beedrills, Arkisu... But I don't know anything about Boss, other than that he's a Pikachu and he runs things around here. We better hurry: Buizel's gonna be a goner if we don't get to him in time! She's right. You're spending too much time on gathering information and not enough time on helping Buizel. The clock is ticking, and instead of performing a search, you were petting an elephant. Worst comes to worst, you go in guns blazing and raze the whole area, right? TIME MANAGEMENT MAN :U |

Yay, you're finally moving! I thought that I'd actually have to do even MORE character development. And let's be honest: no one likes character development. Except me. But now it was time to go take down the tyrannous tyrant of tyranny in the forest! Luckily you had a guide in Phanpy, so you should be able to get to the little hideout without much trouble. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for Buizel. He was completely on his own now, only going off of instinct and Beedrill's path. For now you would have to simply follow Phanpy in the hopes that you weren't too late. Already on the correct side of the river, Phanpy looked at you and nodded before running into the forest. Greta quickly followed, and you followed her in the back. For about fifteen minutes, you saw nothing but trees and the two Pokemon in front of you. Then a clearing opened up, and both Phanpy and Greta stopped. You didn't, and before you could realize your mistake, you were met by the incendiary gazes of multiple unhappy Pokemon. In the middle of them was a bored-looking Pikachu, staring straight at the Phanpy. He smirked and yelled out, and suddenly a Spinarak and a familiar Beedrill appeared right next to them. In the background you saw Buizel guarded by several larger Beedrills. The trio stepped up, and everyone else stepped back. A battle was inevitable, so it was time to decide which team you were going to use. POTENTIAL ALLIES/OPPONENTS Level 9 Level 5 Level 10 Level 13

Where the hell are you again... Oh right. Some Forest Around Millenia I Guess Well, I have decided that this battle was a result of poor decision-making on my part. I did not expect the battle to become a 5 on 3 battle so quickly. For the sake of convenience, I'm going to split this up into separate battles. So Cole and Theodore were going to focus on the Spinarak, perhaps the weakest of the three opponents. However, you sent out two of your Pokemon that required a little training as well. Now then, do you really think it's a good idea to be sending little Cole out into the fray? I mean, he is tiny, adorable... and prone to getting squished. By a bug. Get the irony? :U Anyway, since you're a horrible person or something, it's not really any use to try and change your mind, so let's move on to the battle! Spinarak seemed determined to take Cole out of the battle early, so she made a very Scary Face at him. Your little Pichu jumped back, afraid to get any closer. Luckily, you weren't asking him to do that. Theodore, who matched up much better against Spinarak with the type advantage (despite the lack of Rock-typed moves), had no problem going for the spider. He jumped at her and sunk his teeth into her with his first Bite. She shook him off and sent a Poison Sting attack straight at Cole. Cole wasn't expecting it and got hit by it. But your Pichu, always the fighter, grabbed the needles that had impaled him and ripped them out. The needles hadn't gone too far into his skin, so there was only a little bit of bleeding. Cole charged up his Thunderbolt quicker than perhaps he should have, and fired dead center into Spinarak. Spinarak fell backwards, which gave Cole enough time to charge (and subsequently use) Thundershock. Spinarak was scared now, and she was getting overwhelmed by all the attacks at once. That's why she couldn't avoid Theodore's second Bite attack. It pierced her skin, and she slumped down after a last-ditch effort to wrench herself away.
gained 25 and leveled up to level 7, with 4/7 left over! learned Tail Whip! gained 5 and leveled up to level 6, with 0/6 left over! gained 6 and leveled up to level 6, with 1/6 left over! The second mini-battle features three So they did. Both Pokemon charged Beedrill. Phanpy moved faster than Charlotte, and slammed into Beedrill hard. The hit must have hit a weak spot in the bug's abdomen, because he winced in pain and immediately starting Fury Attacking her. The Fury Attacks hit five times, which piled up some good damage. Charlotte finally made it up to Beedrill after the two fighters tumbled all over the ground, and used her first Scratch attack. When he got up, Beedrill moved toward Charlotte to use his second Fury Attack. Phanpy got up and tried to knock him away with another Tackle, but this time Beedrill rolled off and still managed to strike twice. However, some spores poofed up from Charlotte's back mushrooms and landed on Beedrill. They caused his muscles to tighten, making it much harder to move. Looks like the Paras' ability, Effect Spore, paralyzed him! Charlotte Scratched him again, but she took some damage from that attack.
*huff* *puff* Phew, this is a lot of work, what with the tables and the calculations and the actual reffing and stuff! But we've finally got to the "boss battle" of sorts. You were squaring Greta off with the biggest, baddest Pikachu in the forest it seems, and it was only natural that Greta should be the one to take him down. Greta immediately made eye contact and started sending psychic waves toward Pikachu in an attempt to shut down his brain partly. Pikachu stared him down, and it didn't look like there was any sign of drowsiness in his eyes; it must've failed. Instead, the rat got up from his sitting position and released a jolt of electricity at Greta. It hit her and she tensed up; looks like she's paralyzed too. She still had enough movement to release a Shadow Ball, which hit him. The ghostly energy lingered around her opponent a little bit; maybe it was taking down his Special Defense? Pikachu responded with a much stronger jolt of electricity than his first one. The Thundershock attack was much too fast for her to move out of the way, so Greta got hit. Buizel was sort of happy that the battle was going so nicely, but he had to be worried that the Beedrill around him would take him away somewhere...

Trick-or-Treat
