The Many Faces of Crosse
Reese clenched his fists, small threads of his woolen gloves unwinding and stretching as he did so. He kept his arms at his side though, his back arched towards the battle slightly as he watched everything unfold before him. Greta and Owen were excellent, that was without a doubt, but his main worry was whether or not he would be able to take down these two Houndour soon enough so that his two would still have some health remaining in the end. Things wouldn’t have been so difficult if it wasn’t for those two accursed abilities: Flash Fire and Early Bird. Hell, the male had barely been asleep for a round and he had already started to awaken from his dream like stage and the female was still gripping onto consciousness by the skin of her teeth. She though, eventually succumbed to the hypnotic powers –slumping to the ground with a thud as her counterpart quickly rose and prepared himself for battle. Watching Owen being beaten down by a ravaging wave of Embers was horribly troublesome, but he still managed to hang on and force the hound back with his own attacks while Greta made her move on the female. Reese, in all honesty, didn’t know what was better: poisoned or asleep. With poison she would lose health each turn, making her faint quicker, but she still had the ability to attack; sleep meant that she wouldn’t attack straight out, but because of her ability she could awaken any second and possibly score a critical hit. It was bothersome, without a doubt.

But what was done was done, and in all honesty he was somewhat pleased that Greta hand managed to instill a poisoned ability with her first time of actually using that move in battle –it was impressive. But now he knew that he needed to change tactics, to change procedures, to try and catch the man off guard so that his team would immerge victorious in the end. “Greta?” he called out, making sure that the ghost could hear him through his thoughts. “I want to try and change something; get the man’s attention off of Owen for a bit so that he can finish this for us alright?” he said to the ghost who nodded in response. “I’ll give you your moves vocally, so hopefully that he will ignore the fact that I didn’t say anything to Owen, who I will relay my orders through from you. Now, tell him that he needs to keep on the down low and wait for attention to be away from him, then go at the female with two Air Slash attacks alright?” he said to Greta, who responded with: “Understood, now vor my orders?”

Reese nodded to himself, closing his eyes as he began to put his idea into action as well as the words that were fumbling around on his tongue. “Greta!” he said aloud, hoping to catch the man’s attention, “Take out the male with Sludge Bomb and then retreat beneath the floor. Once you’ve made it around come back up and take out the female with a Sludge Bomb as well –be careful!” he said like a cocky teenager, trying to make the man feel a little more arrogant about himself so that he wouldn’t notice his other hand slipping past his guards. “If things get ugly, hide Greta, hide.” he said to himself, unaware that she was actually still listening. “Now where has Nell gotten to? There’s my baby girl, come here you!” continued his thoughts as he picked up the rabbit who was hiding behind him –bringing her up and into his cradled arms. The little bear cried out happily before she snuggled into her trainers embrace, quickly dozing off against his warm body, with thoughts of fruitcakes and the other sweets she enjoyed dancing around in her dreams.

The man looked over at you, and then at Gastly. He was gaining on the thought that the ghost had telepathy. No way, he thought, that the pokemon would be using these moves on their own. So, when you started speaking out loud, he ignored it. ”Houndour, quick, Ember yourselves to get a boost.” They did so, immediately. Before Owen and Greta could attack, the field had become even more dangerous now! The dogs seemed to watch your pokemon with an eagle’s eye. The female had seemed to be a priority to you, getting her out of the way. And the man could tell by his own eyes that she was getting tired in this fight. He whispered commands, and a sneaky and hastily Ember was shot off and hit Gastly! Before they could catch Hoothoot, he moved quickly to get in his Air Slash. The first one was all that he needed to faint the female, as she seemed to lie down.

Owen seemed to have lost his target, but Greta was just getting starter. Fumed by being hit, as any pokemon would, she went full force. Houndour tried to hit her with another Ember, but she dodged. It seemed to be going well, as a Sludge Bomb came down on the dog, splattering about and hurting him. She was about to use another, but the Houndour abruptly fainted. It seemed to be over, and as promised, the man tossed you a wad of money.

”Don’t think this battle is through just yet. I still have two more pokemon!” The man angrily snatched the spheres from his belt and released a Pikachu and Machop! They were a little odd, but at least could do some damage! While, hell, you had some more time to waste I suppose. This battle could easily take you the time it needed in order to get to Millenia! Plus, more experience.

Taking a deep breath, Reese wiped his brow with the back of his hand; that had been a horribly nerve wrecking battle, that was for sure. For a few good moments here and there he feared for the worst: he thought that either Greta or Owen would be taken down by one of those ghastly hounds and that would have been the end of it. But no, they managed to prove themselves superior in the end by all means, causing a wave of relief to sweep over his mind and pull the load of discomfort and fear off of his shoulders. He lifted his eyes slowly, pulling out both Owen and Greta’s Pokeballs from his pocket, when he noticed something flying towards him. His free hand, his left hand, instinctively shot out and grappled the object that had been thrown –a wad of cash. The older gentlemen returned his two fainted hounds and tossed out a new set of Pokemon for battle; this was far from over. Nodding, Reese accepted this second round of battle as he pulled out the two Pokeballs with his right hand to return his last fighters to their compartments. Tucking them away, he retrieved one two more, tossing them out and onto the elegant carpet that covered the wooden floor of the ship. In an instant both Nell and Velix were released to the scene, both of them anxious and ready for a good fight.

Reese felt comfortable and even confident with Velix for this battle, seeing as how she was stronger and that she had a nice type advantage against one of the opponents from the other side. It was Nell he was most certainly worried about though, for she was still horribly young and one wrong turn could cause her to end up in a world of hurt..there was only one sound solution. “Velix, you're strong, so please keep a look out for Nell –she is still young and has much to learn when it come to battling; I need to protect her from anything and everything.” he said silently, hoping the man wouldn’t hear. The fox nodded her head before jumping forwards into battling; she knew that he main mission was to protect Nell, and her second was to take down her two new adversaries. Nell slowly wandered away from Reese, apprehensive with the battle that was about to begin, and quickly came to the side of Velix. She stood behind her awkwardly, for she was horribly nervous about everything that was about to go down. Velix turned her head around to see the poor rabbit though and barked sweetly to her, ensuring poor Nell that she would do everything in her power to keep her safe from harm.

With that now out of the way, Reese had to make his plan of attack. The best thing he could think of now was to take down the one that held an advantage over his team: Machop. He knew that with Velix’s superior psychic powers that it would be relatively easy for her to take him down, so, that was his first and main target. He would have to keep an eye on the Pikachu thought, keep her away from Nell. The young man nodded to himself and lifted his hand into the air, pointing at the older gentleman with his index finger as he smiled. “Velix,” he said, “take out the Machop with duel Psychic attacks! If he manages to keep up in the end, throw him back with a Confusion or use another Psychic attack on anyone who tries to approach Nell. Nell, dear, it’s time for you to let your voice be heard! Help Velix out by using Uproar as many times as you can! Keep close to Velix at all times though..” he said. He knew that Uproar would probably hurt Velix in the long run, but for now, it was just a way that little Nell could express her support while trying to stay out of harm’s way.

”Going out on a limb and trying to train that Spinda, huh?” The man instantly turned his words and gaze to the Spinda, who seemed to be cute to even him as she had moved about. A slight frown crossed his face when he was asking, though. It was going to be easy to take it down if it gets through Velix. ”Let us see how this plays out.” The man sounded confident, and seemed to taunt you a little bit. He started to whisper to his pokemon, as you seemed to also spit out commands.

The Pikachu stepped forward, but the Machop started the charge. Velix caught it easily within her Psychic attack, and seemed to push it back as she terrorized its mind with her chaotic images, for it was sort of closely related to Confusion. The Machop frowned, and its body cringed at the powerful attack being used on it. It seemed very powerful, and defeated the Machop right off the bat. The man cursed, seeing as it had a plan for using Pikachu (maybe) to get to Spinda. It didn’t matter, as the Pikachu still went through to use a Strike, or maybe just to get close before another move. Whatever it was, Spinda startled it with a mighty and loud Uproar. The petit panda pokemon was not expected, by the Pikachu, to know such a move and have it work. Velix got her chance to protect Nell even more, using a Psychic on Pikachu!

The Pikachu had time to recover. Not only had it had to recover from its startled state, but the hurt the Velix put on it. Back in the game, or battle, for what it is worth, the mouse pokemon charged up to use a Thundershock. It could be strong against the Spinda, but once again it used Uproar. The Pikachu was too focused, and when hearing that, the focus drained nearly all the way. The Thundershock snipped Velix, not Spinda. But it was ok, because Velix caught the Pikachu in a Psychic, as told, to protect Nell.

“Circling the pain inside my soul
I reached inside your silence to steal what you won’t show
I tried to find the answers in my fears
But what was found is lost again as soon as it appeared”

The chandeliers swayed back and forth overhead, the brilliance of their soft flames reflecting upon their golden frames ignored by all of the people who swarmed across the royal rouge carpet underneath. Some of the people, mostly wealthy men and woman of some noble bloodline, built up the clamor of the small lobby of the boat until it became nothing more than a dull hum infesting the consciousness of those who strayed away from the social gathering. Away from the lower lobby, away from most of the noise, there, upon the balcony that overlooked the mob of miserable moguls, the battle between a gentleman and young lad took place.

The man, well groomed and obviously pampered throughout his entire life, had confidence swelling up noticeably in his chest as the fight raged on, even though Reese, a poor boy who had been forced to live day by day, was managing to pull some impressive strings and force himself into the leading position of this battle. His deep ashen eyes narrowed as his team returned to his side after their onslaught, watching the man as confidence continued to build even though he was down to one –he needed to keep his guard up, no matter how easy things were seeming to get.

Reese force the smile he wore before to hide behind his lips so that the man could only see his look of indifference; he had an idea what he was doing before, so he thought it’d be best to try and keep the elder gentlemen out of his head and out of his feelings and ideas. Looking down, he could see Nell who was running over to his side, swaying in her walk back and forth, before she eventually rammed herself right into the young man’s false leg. She toppled over, her mouth opening and closing rapidly for she was still under the spell of Uproar, before she managed to gain her footing and spin around –ready to face her enemies once more (even though she hardly did none if any of the heavy lifting in this battle). The small psychic fox also approached her trainer as the small rabbit did, though she managed to spin herself around the second she made it to her master’s feet; she had better agility skills and overall balance than Nell would probably ever have. The little one growled silently though as she gazed at the enemy; it was only one, but if she didn’t play this right Nell could still get hurt.

Pulling on the ends of his woolen, fingerless gloves, Reese readjusted it along his hands and fingers so that it had a better fit than before as he thought over his next plan of action. Brushing his hair out of his eyes with the back of his hand, he nodded silently to himself, before he returned his gaze to the elder man and dished out his own set of orders. “Nell! Keep back, understood? Keep using Uproar to support Velix though. he said, hoping that the little one was at least somewhat coherent right about now. “Velix,” he said, “lets finish this off dear, two Confusions back to back! Remember to keep your eye on Nell, especially if the rodent tries to attack her, for then I want you to just go all out and use two Psychics on her instead!”

Velix nodded, hissing slightly as she jumped forth out in front of Nell in a protective manner.

The man didn’t seem too worried, but had all the right to be. With one pokemon on the lines of fainting, anyone should be. But he was a gambler at heart, and had a good poker face. Deep down, he was frowning, tearing up at the loss. He watched on, and mumbled something to his mouse pokemon. Pikachu nodded, so you figured it was a plan to evade—at best. Nell and Velix were both in good condition, so what could that mouse do? Well, Velix tried to focus on Confusion, but as the waves went towards Pikachu, it shot over to the side, evading what was the main focus of psychic waves. The waves weren’t a one line thing, and the mouse didn’t expect it.

”Oh no!” The man called out, realizing that the Confusion would hit. When it did, Pikachu was raised into the air, giving a horrible treatment, and then put on the ground. At first, it was standing, resisting its best at staying in. It was no match! It soon fell over, looking ever so exhausted. A pokeball absorbed it back into its hold, and the man grumbled before walking away.

Just in time! ”Everyone, the ship has arrived. Please watch your step as you get off.” The announcement loudly echoed through the boat, and you heard the main door open. It was time to get off and go about things, right? Well, not so much. Not only are you on your way to Nogou, and only in Millenia, but you have to walk. Looks like some tutoring along the way? Maybe some more battles? Anything you want to do before embarking to Nogou!

Reese quickly shuffled off of the ship, his feet clicking and clanging against the wooden floorboards of the deck as he neared the ramp that lead off of the ship as he pulled is gloves up and tightened them around his wrists. Things had gotten odd, very odd, during his travels aboard the ship he had cautiously stowed away on: first there was the incident of that thing, that ship, that loomed in the distance with a ghostly aura eating at its being, causing them to take a different route to avoid confrontation with the miraculous “ghost ship”, and then there was the fact that a man threw down four hundred dollars for him to battle and win against his houndour duo. Reese merely shrugged his shoulders as he grabbed a hold of the railing that lead down the ramp to the docks below, which would quickly break off and lead back to dry land. The young boy exhaled greatly as he took his first steps into the town of Millenia, feeling the sand crunch and churn beneath his boots, as he moved his way up the beach and towards the Pokemon Center that loomed on the hill.

He quickly entered through the frosted glass doors and headed towards the front desk, depositing his team and allowing them to be healed while he took care of other matters. Reese strolled over to the PC while the nurse took care of his team and began to poke and click different objects on the monitor, rearranging stuff and putting some of his team away and into the computer storage system itself. Those who departed from his team were only Nell and Waldo, for he knew that he would need a stronger set of hands for the voyage he was about to embark upon. He nodded to himself when his deeds where finished and logged out, then moved his way back over to the front counter to receive his team from the nurse who held out their Pokeballs to him on a silver platter. He thanked her as he took them and clipped them each to his belt in an order that he would remember: Marylin, Owen, Greta, and then last but not least Nexus who he still couldn’t find a suitable name for.

As Reese walked away from the counter something was brought to his attention, his Poketech was flashing wildly at him. Curious he prodded the mechanism with his cold fingers until he found what he needed to see: there was a Pichu egg up for sell and it just so happened to have an Egg Move on it. Smiling, the young man quickly accepted the offer and gathered up a good wad of cash (most of the cash that he had received from the man on the boat) and offered it for the little one, who appeared before him in a flash of white. He held the small egg close against his ear, listening to the creature stir around inside of it. The egg wasn’t that close to hatching, but he knew that as he took his first steps out towards Nogou that he would be out and about in no time.

But then something was brought to his attention..

Reese had an odd look on his face, like a thought had just occurred to him, as he slowly spun around and gently placed his knew egg into his backpack for a moment. He set the bag down then as his hands searched around the egg, looking for something of importance beneath the surface. He smiled slightly when his fingers crossed over the warm stone, which he brought out immediately and held up to the artificial light in the Pokemon Center. He brought the firestone back down and held it within his cupped hands, studying the mechanism, when he then turned to the side and unclipped the first Pokeball from his belt and released the little one before him.

Marilyn appeared in a flash of red, sitting down on the cold tile floor and staring up to Reese with curious eyes. “You know, at first I wanted to wait. I wanted to wait for ages to give this to you.” he said, his voice trailing off towards the end. “But if I give this to you now,” he then continued, “you would be so strong, so beautiful; nothing could ever compare to you. The only question is: are you ready?” The small fox tilted her head to the side, then the other, as she listened to her master speak and knew very well what it was that he was asking her. She wasn’t sure; she didn’t have a defendant answer. But now as the little fox thought over it she realized that the perks outweighed the faults if she did go down this path, which she did by poking the stone with her nose.
:ninetales      In a swirl of white her body became engulfed in a mysterious shine, consuming her being before it grew and expanded out in the Pokemon Center. It only took seconds for something to form out of the mass, a face, tails, lots of tails, and a magnificent body that was glorious to all extents. Reese looked star struck as he gazed into the eyes of his new Ninetales, somewhat disturbed that he (kneeling on his knees) was now at his little Marilyn’s exact height. He smiled as he stood, watching the golden fox rise to her feet and bark happily at him. Smiling, Reese turned back to his bag and grabbed a hold of the egg and held it in his arms, as he and Marilyn exited the center and began their trip to the Pokemon Egg Move Tutor who would bring about new magical psychic abilities to his dear fox.

Whoa; you made a heavy decision that changed Vulpix physically. Connecting her to the strange stone with a frozen-like fire symbol in the middle seemed to evolve her, making her a fox that now had nine tales. Ironically, the name sounded just like that. This also ended her time leveling up and learning moves. Any further ones would have to be tutored. It sure was a big--no, huge--step for you and her. For better or for worse, you two seemed to not be able to be separated. So, away you went, starting once again towards Nogou Village!

Stepping away to the edge of Millenia, your Poketech beeped. It rang to alert you the way to Nogou could be rough. After seeing it, you realized you'd be going through three major points of the road, all connected to lead to Nogou Village. The way seemed to go to Route 5, Route 1, and then to Nogou's Forest of Legend. That seemed to be three good chances for some trouble, as if each were going to be trials. Of course, that might not be the case. As you started to walk, Route 5 seemed to be the first spot, making the game journey to Nogou really begin.

After a while of walking, you started hoping you'd make it to the next Route already. But unfortunately, something ahead seemed to be blocking. There were always two options, but they seemed slim as the Poketech beeped, nearly alerting the silhouette that was presented in front of you. The identifier showed it was a Tauros, a bull pokemon. Being careful was logic, but there was a slim chance you could avoid this. Of course, trying to fight it was one way or being creative to pass it is possible.

Their walk through the forest route that lead to the quaint village of Nogou had began ordinarily as it should have; quite, with nothing but the whispering of the leaves and the crunching of their feet against the dirt road, and relaxing as they wound around the bends and over the brooks that crossed their paths. Reese even managed to relax enough that at one point he flopped his hands back over his shoulders and rested his head on his hands as he walked alongside little Marilyn, who was glowing lovingly in her new form. A sweet smile had slipped upon the young man’s lips at that moment, for he couldn’t help but think that this was a dream; this creature was too beautiful to be his little Marilyn, but it was! Her gorgeous tails flexed behind her as she walked, the sun baking against her soft golden skin, and her dark honey eyes glittering magically as stray strands from the sun broke through the gaps in the leaves overhead as they danced in the soft wind. Her body had become thin; she wasn’t a chunky little pup any longer, but a magnificent creature with curves and beautiful tuffs of hair sprouting off of her chest and her head, veiling her in what looked like a beautiful golden wig. He would eventually turn his head away though, knowing that she would soon become self conscience if he continued to stare, and he laughed at the thought.

They continued down the road, following the winds and bends, until something finally seemed to break the loving silence that had been choking the atmosphere for that time. Reese, hands no longer behind his back, held out his arm to the side to block Marilyn from moving forwards any more like a protective big brother as he studied the situation. He knew their species well, Tauros, so he didn’t even need the aid of his Poketech; he knew they had a short temper and were brutes to put down once they had become enraged, but what he didn’t know was what would be the best way to cope with this situation. He grimaced for a moment, thinking about what he should do, and then, ever so caustiosly, he reached down to his belt and picked out two Pokeballs. The first of which he cast out before him, reveling Waldo, his tubby little Numel, and the other he kept by his side –for it was empty.

He quickly nodded at Numel, telling him to come over, where he would then give his instructions to both him and Marilyn (for he would never send Waldo out into a battle like that alone, especially with how young he was). “Okay, here is the deal..” said Reese as he tried to tie together the last few pieces of his plan, “it may be best if we try to either catch it or just faint it. But what I need from you now is for you, Waldo, to first use Ember on Marilyn here so we can activate her ability. I then want you to use Staredown twice to lower his defenses. Marilyn, dear, if you can be so kind will you start this off by using Attract on the bull and then fire off a Flamethrower if he is unable to move. If he does manage to fight off your Attract, I want you to dodge everything you can and use Nasty Plot instead. I also want you to look after Waldo, try to steer him clear of the Tauros’ path; have him focus on you. Now Waldo if he comes after you kiddo I want you to stop everything your doing and fire off as many Embers to his ankles to try and cripple him, got it?” he said, watching the two of them not in response.

And with that, he readied his Pokeball in his hand, knowing he would use it soon..

You had this entire strategy planned out, and the Tauros wasn't even looking your way. He might have caught you, but hadn't really minded. Numel started with an instant Ember that he turned to a Staredown at the Tauros with swift motions. Only the first one seemed to connect, as Tauros shook his head to avoid the second. The bull glanced, giving a mean glare, but nothing more then a scuff to the ground with a strong and muscular leg. A grunt was suppose to tell you to back off, but you wouldn't, would you? No, instead Ninetales tried using Attract. Her body started to glow, glitter, and shine all over to appeal to the bull, but he wasn't into it. He avoided that attack, seeing as Ninetales was too far for what he'd consider "his type". The Tauros didn't seem to mind her, but wasn't totally ignoring her now. It scuffed the ground once more, and turned his gaze to Numel. It was finally ready to battle, and Numel was "too close" to his "crush", which means Numel was now the prime target.

The bull moved in slowly, gradually gaining less distance. As stated, it moved, and the Ninetales used Nasty Plot with haste. Her Special Attack seemed to go up quite a bit, and next round would be that to show off her new strength. Like a sudden bullet leaving a gun, the Tauros started to dash at the Numel, but when the little camel started using Ember at its feet, the bull fell forward, like a tower, skidding its face all over the ground. When it got up, it looked even angrier. It didn't help that Ninetales didn't scold the Numel, standing up for the bull. It was losing its "crush" for the fox, but it stopped to stare, just as it did, using Staredown.

Things actually seemed to resemble a battle, a normal battle, different from the norm of bloody fields scathing with rage and hate that consumed the heart and soul whole; this was new, it was fresh, it seemed almost childlike, the battle that is. Looking out at the small scuffle, Reese knew that things could get very ugly very quickly, but luckily for him it seemed that his two little fire dwellers new the beauty and grace behind dodging and countering attacks that would have normally bulldozed right through them. Thinking about it now, he knew that Marilyn would be fine; she was a magnificent Ninetales after all, but it was Waldo he was truly worried about. He wasn’t as bright nor nimble as the graceful fox was, he wasn’t that cunning either, but still he seemed to put together what Reese had told him and managed to save his own skin before he could have been pummeled into the ground. It was amazing and awe inspiring to see little Waldo hold his ground, searing the Tauros’s legs with his weak Ember attack and cause the massive bull to topple over with a thud. After the beast had fallen, the little camel puffed out his chest and grinned, for he felt especially proud for what he had done!

Reese called out to him, raising a fist in the air as a congratulating gesture to his work, and then he pulled his arm back and pointed at the bull and called out the next set of orders for Waldo. “Alright, perfect!” he would began, boosting confidence into the little ones system, “I want you to be on guard and protect yourself in the same manner if that happens again; attack his legs with Ember and cause him to topple over. If things go smooth and he focuses on Marilyn though, go ahead and use Ember twice at his legs anyways; aim to cripple, not to maim!” And with that now out of the way, Reese could then refocus his attention to Marilyn, who was sitting before him with her magnificent golden tails fluctuating behind her in a steady rhythm. Oddly enough though it seemed as if the Tauros was resisting her magnificent beauty, which was very odd, but it didn’t cause an end to the world; it simply meant that Reese would have to find another way to keep the bulls attention on Marilyn rather than Waldo.

A sudden spark of interest lit within Reese’s mind as he continued to hold a spare Pokeball close to his person, which was when he turned his head slightly and spoke to his sweet Ninetales in a soft voice. “Marilyn,” he would begin, “I want you to try your hardest and keep that bulls attention on yourself rather than Waldo. Let’s begin by using a simple Ember to drag his thoughts this way, and if he focuses on your rather than Waldo, follow that Ember up with a Flamethrower. If he ignores you however and goes for Waldo, wait for the little one to strike. If it doesn’t work, get in there and protect him by hurling yourself at the bull with Quick Attack, but if Waldo can cause him to fall again quickly get near him and use a Flamethrower attack!” he finished, making sure that the beautiful fox understood.

She nodded her head elegantly as she turned her body away from her trainer and back to the battle…

Derping... All Day, Every Day!
[ Millenia ]
[ Pichu Egg :: 3 / 5* ]

The Tauros seemed fixated on Waldo, the Numel. It was still probably because of the entire love-like-crush things. It got to him, having Waldo by her side and not him. Even if mild, his affection and natural instinct as a bull was to rid competition, at least in most if not all situations. Rash as he was, the Tauros started to realize that the Affection he felt was a set up. It would remain, but he'd have better control, like realizing that Waldo would be perfect to get out of the way, but if he could attack the Ninetales, then the stronger threat can be taken out. While his thoughts crowded him, shrouding his main goal and view of the field, an Ember came crashing into his neck, searing flesh. If you got close, there was no doubt the smell of burning flesh would spread, though he wasn't inflicted with BURN as an ailment--at least not yet.

One of the things that should be feared was Tauros' other ability. Anger Point. If such a critical strike lands on him, his attack will increase to the maximum. It was a scary thought, one that you hoped would probably never happened. Or did you not know of it? Either way, another chance for him to get that way came as he jerked forward, startling the Numel. A party of Embers came his way, towards his legs, which he seemed to dance off. Moving his legs up and down, and to the side for what it was worth, he evaded the ailment again, but felt the heated sensation from the attack. It was bothering him now, a lot. That is when he turned to Waldo, and then to Marilyn. His gaze fixated on the fox, and thought of her as the newest target, and probably best target. He dashed forward, letting his legs do the work and his mind escaping him. Into a mindless raging stampede he went; the bull reached the fox in no time, and went right through her Flamethrower, feeling all of the effects along the way, and getting hit with a critical!! As if the bull would crash into her, at the last minute his body fell. The mindless dash was too rash for his own good, and the Flamethrower had been the key to ending this much quicker then you'd imagine. You also managed to catch the weak bull pokemon, adding him to your team.

Along with the victory, Numel and Ninetales felt stronger, and more prone to battling in a way. You had the opportunity to advance. Off to the next Route that this path would take you on. Indeed, it went a ways but you found yourself on Route 1, a rough yet grassy patched path. Along it was another block, but much less then a Tauros. Instead, it had been two Jigglypuffs! One stronger then the other, but each stared you down, noticing you right off the bat. They looked intrigued and pleased to finally sing to someone!

Reese rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand as he made his way over to the fallen Pokeball, bending down carefully so that he didn’t hurt himself when he pulled it out from the grass. He studied it for a moment; why did he catch this thing again? Oh yes, it could prove of worth to him. Reese didn’t like this particular species, just for the reason that they had the stereotype of being so stubborn and hardheaded. But just as he was about to tuck the bull away in his back pocket, the watch on his wrist began to beep and buzz hysterically. The young boy laughed at the proposition, whispering “speak of the devil” beneath his breath before he began to prod at the watch with his dust covered finger. He nodded to him as the transaction was completed: a Tauros for a Meowth and some money. Before he could even think the money and his new Pokeball manifested before him, the money, which he tucked away in his back pocket, was bound to get lost within the next couple of hours; Reese couldn’t hold onto money even if his life meant it. Now, he didn’t go about spending his money left and right, but it he always seemed to have a target painted on his back for muggers and pick-pocketers. He sighed, knowing the money would vanish soon enough, but then he lifted his head up to see the couple of Jigglypuff dancing around in the grass over yonder. Reese’s face soured; he did not like those things. He disliked their species to such an extent that he decided to walk around them to avoid any potential battle between them –especially since he had other things on his mind at the time.

Once he had gotten into a clearing in the tree’s, away from those two pink balls of eternal hell and torture, Reese slowly sat himself down on the ground. Sighing, he pulled up his pant leg and looked at his prosthetic leg, poking at it and smacking it to make sure that everything was still in order. He pulled his pant leg back down with one hand while the other reached around for his backpack, which he brought into his lap. He fiddled with the worn bag until it released the egg that it was hiding within it. Reese threw the bag off to the side and held the little egg close: he would be soon getting a Pichu, he could feel it. As he studied it now he could only hope, only pray, that this little one turned out to be a boy –for he already had a name in mind: Cole. Reese laughed out loud as he held the egg close, for he was getting too excited about the little one soon entering his world. He continued to think about it for a while: how Pichu would become a Pikachu, and then eventually an all powerful Raichu who would make him proud to be his trainer. It was kind of cute to see Reese so giddy, but he still had some time to wait before the little one would actually hatch from the egg. So, rather than battling, what else was there to do?

     Move Tutoring of course!

Reese slipped his hand down to his belt and unclipped his new team from his belt, releasing them into the air in a swirl of red before Marilyn, Owen, Greta, and Odin appeared before him. The other three who the young man held close, Nell, Waldo, and Nexus, were stored in the personal computer until a later time; he just didn’t have the space for all of them to be a part of his team –and he wanted to get to know Odin, his knew Meowth. The little was quite frightened, of course, for he was no longer with his master. Seeing Greta glaring at him from a distance didn’t help either, nor did Owen, who was staring at him curiously with his big crimson eyes. It wasn’t until he saw Marilyn, Reese’s magnificent Ninetales settling down in the grass besides her master that he felt a sense of tranquility. The beautiful fox yawned and cuddled next to her trainer, resting her head on his lap besides the egg which was beginning to wiggle about. Owen hooted and began to flap his way over to Reese, perching himself up upon his trainer’s head where he began to cock his head from side to side. Greta, on the other hand, stuck to her master’s shadow as well as the shadow of the few trees that surrounded them. She was relaxed too, though she didn’t seem it; Greta was always on guard, whether she felt safe and secure or not.

Smiling, Reese clapped his hands together, and turned his face to look at each of his Pokemon that were now by his side (this was including Odin, who was sitting in the grass next to Reese opposite that of Marilyn). “Alright guys,” he began, “first thing is first. Odin, my name is Reese, and I’ll be your new trainer from now on. These here are Marilyn, Owen, and Greta. I’ve spent quite some time with the two of them, but don’t worry, you’ll fit into our little group quite well!” he said as he began to stroke the feline on the head. Odin seemed apprehensive at first to Reese’s touch, but he quickly warmed up and began to purr as Reese’s fingers scratched the top of his skull and behind his ears. “This here,” he then continued after a few moments, pointing down to the egg, “will also be a new friend of ours. He should be hatching soon but I thought until then, how about we move tutor? Odin I know you haven’t done this before, but just look to everyone else for examples and help if you need it; we are always here for one another. Now let’s do this!”

Reese laughed out loud and pet his Ninetales on her head, knowing that she would be the first he would tutor until little Cole awakened….

[ On the Way to Nogou Village! ]
[ Pichu Egg :: 4 / 5* ]

Move Tutoring came to your mind as you walked on, having just finished with the pair of Jigglypuffs. Now you were back on track to the Nogou Village, searching for the relative or friend of someone's father you saved back in Shimo. They were nice enough to give you directions to the house, but at what cost? The entire trip was no easy thing; walking for hours upon hours without a car, or vehicle in general. The only rest you got was the rather long ferry ride from Shimo to Millenia, or should I say Shimo to Golderia, before Millenia. Either way, you were almost there. Keep that in mind for what everything starts happening, you should go back and put the ghost back on that little girl. I'm joking, I'm joking.

So on your way you were, and wanting to tutor a move to both Ninetales and Hoothoot. While you walked, it could serve as a bit of distraction. However, it was all you could to keep going to Nogou. Slowing down, you told Ninetales those pesky instructions of a move you hate because of me that could come in handy to her. The spheres, energy made and to orbit her. Not every Hidden Power has orbiting balls, but she'd try her best to do this. As a cool way to do things, she spread her tails out and closed her eyes, focusing hard on her inner power. Deep inside, the vixen worked on unlocking it, as if her herself held a key of some sort to a caged animal. Though, she couldn't find any type just yet, or power, she did feel strange. As her face cringed, you found orbs slightly forming at the tip of her tails, resulting in about only nine instead of the many like Growlithe or Shellos from the pictures. She was building them up as she went, boosting them with her energy as she kept looking for her inner power. They were small, but good enough to fit in your hand and have your fingers touch your palm.

It wasn't just Ninetales getting tutored a move that would be rather difficult. Hoothoot had the chance to learn one that would heal him, which was totally new to your team. The owl perched on a tree branch that you were passing by, allowing the time here to be used. As you stopped to watch, you found Hoothoot looking already peaceful from having a nice rest, almost as if it fell asleep. But the Hoothoot chirped gently and danced about as if it was ready to go, but I think it just took a break from things. Isn't it suppose to glow and heal? Not just taking a quick break. Maybe if Hoothoot was actually hurt in some way he had something real to focus on.

The Many Faces of Crosse
Reese was relaxed in the grass, his legs crossed with the small egg in between, and his body arched back at an angle with his arms firmly planted in the grass to help support his weight. A soft wind blew past and caused the hair on the side of his face to lift up and dance around as the grass around him swayed, but his eyes and his entire attention was kept to both his Ninetale’s and his Hoothoot. Odin lifted his head up to see what was happening, because he had curled up and had fallen asleep besides his new trainer only moments ago. The fox, with her elegant tails flowing in the wind, and his owl, perched high up in a tree, seemed to both be having their own separate problems with what they were doing. Marilyn seemed to understand the concept of searching for her energy, and though she hadn’t yet found it, Reese was sure that she would be able to accomplish this move in no time at all. Owen, on the other hand, seemed to need to be aided from a different approach: he understood how to rest, obviously, but he needed to have some sort of pain and focus all of his energy to healing that specific area. The young man rested one of his hands on Odin’s head and began to scratch him behind the ears, listening to him purr as he thought, when an idea hit him. He smiled and touched the coin on the felines head, getting his attention before telling him that he was going to need his help with the others and their tutoring. Greta laughed slightly to herself as Reese spoke to the feline as she hid within her master’s shadow; she had a feeling that this would be amusing to watch.

Looking over to his magnificent Ninetales, Reese called her over. She elegantly strolled over to his side, sitting down next to him, as she licked at his cheek lovingly with her small pink tongue. The vixen seemed to purr in her own way as Reese lifted his hand up to her face and began to stroke her cheek, smiling, and telling her that she had done an amazing job at her tutoring. Owen, who had moved over to a tree closer to Reese, saw that the rest of the team was beginning to reunite. He hooted once and cocked his head to the side in that funny way that owls seem to do before jumping off from the branch and fluttering down to the ground. He hopped over to Reese, next to everyone else, when he jumped up into the air and began to fly over to his master’s head –which he perched himself upon. Reese laughed a little as the owl hooted, his claws digging into his hair so that he had a firm grip and wouldn’t fall off if Reese tried to reposition himself in the grass. He then clapped his hands together, signaling that he was ready to begin with what he had finished. Ninetales would obviously be the first to be tutored, again, and then he would move his focus back to Owen. The others who crowded around him watched their friends anxiously and occasionally moved their eye to the egg that Reese held close to him; it was getting close to hatching wasn’t it?

:ninetales Hidden Power
“Did you feel an odd feeling when you were trying to search out for your inner power?” asked Reese, his eyes curious and full of wonder. The massive fox nodded down to him, telling him that she did notice something and that she just hadn’t figured out to unleash it yet. Reese nodded and rubbed his chin between his thumb and forefinger, thinking over how he could better instruct her on finding this sort of energy. “I want you to return to that same place, to that same state. Spread your tails out like you had done before and close your eyes before you search for that inner power; your body needs to be calmed and relaxed in order for you to pry it open. I want you to think about the elements, all of them. I want you to use your vast and mysterious knowledge to understand each element and to figure out which one seems to suit you; think of them all with this amazing gift that has been bestowed to all Ninetales. You’ll know it’s the right one when you find it; your gut will twist and churn, or your mind will be at ease, it will signal to you some way that it is what you truly are in the inside. Now return to that spot, where you felt some energy, and try to decrypt it. If you manage to do that, then focus on trying to seep it out of your skin. Remember what I said about Confuse Ray or Nasty Plot; how you can recall how you release ghost and dark typed energy from your skin when you do those moves –much like perspiration? That is what you need to do with that power when you find it; push it out from your skin and allow it to become a mist around you. Think back to the photo’s if you need to, Marilyn, and try to find a form for the attack that suits you: many have it turn into spheres, but I’ve seen some that turn it into a wave or even keep it in its mist like form –whatever feels right.”

:hoothoot Roost
"Odin and Owen," said Reese to the owl and the feline, "I'm going to need the both of you to work together to get this move down. Now Odin, I want you to attack Owen with a simple Scratch attack to do just a little bit of damage." The feline besides him smiled wickedly as his tail began to flick back and forth as Owen stared down to him with a petrified look. Reese noticed and shook his head, then pulled Owen down and held him out in front of him. "Odin will not hurt you," he said as he gave a side glance to the feline. "Once you get attacked I want you to retreat up and into one of these trees, then focus on everything I told you before; relax your muscles, try to search out the pain, and try to numb it with your mind. Thinking about it now though, try and use some of your psychic powers to help numb the pain from the attack and try to get it to cause your body to glow --when we get you really glowing it will be working perfectly. Now after that, I want you, Owen, to come back down and take another attack. This time around though when you go up and into the tree to rest, I want you Odin to pursue him and chase him up the tree. You will need to be fast, Owen. You can't wait all day and heal; it has to be good and quick. Hopefully having Odin help will move things along.."
