:: Golderia town .. Docks Boat ready counter; 1/3 Passing the time by tutoring your pokemon new moves was always a good idea, in my own opinion anyway. New moves are very valuable, but sometimes the time needed for them to be perfected could take a while. Thus, meaning the only good time really to do them was when you were waiting for something. In your case, this damn boat to be ready. Teaching pokemon pyschic type moves was always difficult. It helped however that Hoothoot's were known to have a strong pyschic energy they could tap into. You decided to go with a tactic of getting dark thoughts into the birds mind, by reminding him of bad experiences from the past. Thoughts of terror and despair, the fear that was running through yours and your pokemons mind. It was deffinately a useful technique for you to use. You decided to release your Vulpix, for Owen to practice on. He focused, as much as he possibley could, and began to charge up some strong pyschic powers as the thoughts of fear began to race through his mind. He winced slightly, as all this power was new to him. But still, as he closed his eyes, it was there, almost. He opened them, and released his attempt of confusion on Marilyn. The vulpix winced slightly, and began to hover off the floor, before hitting the deck after a few seconds. Your Hoothott let out a gasp, and began to pant quite heavily. Hmm, it was almost there. Marilyn shook her head, but seemed ok after taking quite abit of pain. Confusion learning curve: 70%Greta began to try her sludge bomb again. The gasses that formed her body began to duplicate, and the edges of her gas covered body began to stretch and collect infront of her, slowly forming into a sphere. More and more gas began to load the sphere, before Greta almost chomped on it. The sphere entered your Gastly's body, and after a few seconds of pure concentration, Greta turned towards the water and fired. This time, instead of the attack just dissapearing as gas, the attack actually formed and came out. Yet, unlike a perfect sludge bomb, not only was it not in enough parts, this sludge wasn't as solid as it should be. It wasn't gas either though, more of in the middle.. A liquid, a slightly gooey liquid. It was still a great improvement though, and as they say, Practice makes perfect, she will get it eventually. Sludge bomb learning curve: 55%

The Many Faces of Crosse

Reese leaned over the guard railing, watching the waves dance underneath the boards on which he stood upon, as he fumbled his wrist watch out of his sleeve and out into the open air. From there, he began to prod at the mechanism with his cold white index finger, the buckles on his gloves glistening in the sunlight from above, as he studied a potential transaction that he could take place in. It seemed like a good offer, so, after packing up the necessary item for trade out of his backpack he inserted them into a little slot on the watch, watching apprehensively as they disappeared into the nothingness. The small compartment in the watch wouldn’t be left empty for long, however, because within seconds a small spherical orb manifested in the place of the small barb and wad of cash. Smiling, Reese fumbled the new Pokeball out of the socket and closed the watch, allowing it to retreat under his sleeve once more. He turned around slowly, studying the Pokeball in his hand, as his eyes slowly lifted up to see his two, having finished with their previous attempt of learning their moves. In one fluid motion, he tossed his new Pokeball up and into the air, and watched as it descended and released a native Pokemon to this region. Now, like a few persnickety people, Reese didn’t have much of a taste, if any at all, for the native species that inhabited this region of the world. But this little girl her, this Velix, had something special about her: she was chalk full of moves that Reese could use to potentially aid his team with their own individual tutoring. And right now, from what it said in her description, he could use her to help out Owen with learning the move Confusion. ![]() Confusion Reese quickly walked over to Owen, who was perched up upon the railing that ran alongside down the docks, watching Marilyn as she gazed at the fish who danced and swam in the cold waters beneath her. The two eagerly turned their heads upon the sound of Reese’s shoes clonking against the old wooden dock; Owen’s eyes dilated with excitement while little Marilyn began to yip joyfully. That was when she saw that new thing hiding behind Reese’s legs, which was when she slumped low to the ground and began to crawl over towards this mysterious creature. The two foxes, rather shy and dependent on someone to protect them, backed away from each other when they met the others eyes. It took a good five minutes before Marilyn took the first few steps over towards her new ally, where she began to sniff her eagerly, as the Velix did the same to her. And then, all of a sudden, Marilyn yipped happily and playfully pounced the other canine creature –showing that she accepted her into her pack like home. Owen just watched the scene from the rail upon which he was perched, for he didn’t have the same instincts as the others, but he did listen up when Reese approached and beckoned him to perch himself upon his arm once more. “This little girl here,” he said, gesturing to the Velix, “is going to help us out a lot with the tutoring we will be experiencing over the next few hours, days, whatever –her previous owner gave her a whole bunch of moves that will come in use to all of you. Now, Velix dear, for now I need your help with demonstrating to Owen here how Confusion looks and feels; he needs to get different perspectives, I think, to truly understand how this attack is supposed to be.” Owen tilted his head, unsure about what was going to happen to him in the next few moments. “Now,” continued Reese, “Owen, I want you to watch Velix and Marilyn closely, because Velix I want you to use Confusion on Marilyn here –don’t worry, she’s ready for it. Now, Owen, study not only the movements and the way Velix seems to strengthen and project her power, but observe how Marilyn reacts to the attack; that is what you need to succeed. And I think,” he went on, “what is going to seal this move is you experiencing the attack being used on you. So, after Velix has attacked Marilyn and you’ve studied it, she will attack you with Confusion as well. Use this experience to get a good idea of what you need to put your enemies through, let all of your senses absorb everything and anything you come across. And then, once she’s done, I want you to attempt and use another Confusion but this time on Velix –and make it strong, since she’ll be resistant to it!” ![]() Sludge Bomb Greta was the next, and last, in line for tutoring. She had done well, very well, hell exceptionally well with all of her prior tutoring, but this one seemed to be the one that Reese was going to need to find a clever way to help her master this bad boy. Now as he walked over to her across the creaky docks, he knew that she didn’t like this move, but he also knew that she recognized the benefits of it being of her same typing; she would be able to do so much more power in battle if she had moves that corresponded to her typing. As he continued on with his walk though, he began to think of numerous ways in which he could possibly speed up their tutoring progress, even though there really was no reason to: they wouldn’t arrive onto the mainland for days if things kept going the way they were. Oh, all of this for an Egg Move, he only hoped that life in the Alternian mainland would be as pleasant as it was back in Shimo once he arrived, for there was no way in hell that he would risk another voyage such as this! Never in a thousand years, especially if he didn’t want to take the chance and risk getting caught sneaking aboard without paying his way on..like he had last time.. He quickly arrived at Greta’s side, which was where he began to inform her of how he wanted her to change things with this next attempt at tutoring. Before he spoke though, he dug out a spare Pokeball from his pocket and held it out before her, allowing her to grasp it with her telekinesis powers as she watched it dance around before her. “You did good,” he said, watching the ball as it swirled around, “but you need to make each and every individual ball of sludge denser, more impermeable, so that it doesn’t burst into a fine mist like it normally seems to do; it needs to be stronger! Feel this Pokeball as if floats around you, feel its weight, feel how you have to strain your mental powers, though it may be little, to keep it afloat. This is the shape you need it in, and this is the weight it needs to be –maybe even more!” he said as he held out a Pokeball that contained one of his pokes, which seemed a lot heavier than the empty one. “Now, when you are concentrating on the noxious gases, I need you to keep them back in that spherical like shape you made and keep it there; allow it to grow and try and force it to fill up with more poison, make it sludgy and disgusting. You need to make them dense and powerful, because once Marilyn is done over there she is going to come over here. What she’ll do though, is fire off an Ember attack towards you, with which I want you to deflect and block with your Sludge Bomb attack. Remember, they have to be thick to blot out those flames, so make sure you’re pleased with what you’ve built before you give her the okay to fire..” |

Though, if you do see them, then the computer worked with me. It is usually REALLY slow. [ Golderia Town… …Docks ] Boat is Ready… 2 / 3 [ Confusion at 100% ] Having Velix made things a lot easier. Velix came from someone who was a tutor whore, and it would make things easier for you right now. Without further ado, the Velix started to use Confusion on Vulpix. Marilyn’s body slowly lifted, gaining altitude along with a strange, pink glow to her body. Within seconds, the Velix gave a small smirk, and the Vulpix yelled in pain as a strong wave of chaotic sensations filled her head. When the Velix felt her deed was well done, she put the Vulpix down gently, using her Telekinesis. That is when she turned to Hoothoot, who seemed a little hesitant of receiving this. Velix smirked again, and used Confusion. The same power and glow appeared; Hoothoot gained the glow, and altitude along with it. A blast through his mind helped him yell out loud, but would hopefully help him with greater things. Like learning the move itself. Putting the owl down, Velix was ready. She sat calmly. Hoothoot took a few seconds to gain a balanced state of mind. He had been breathing heavier, and maybe the chaotic wave was a little too much for him. Won’t he feel lucky to be learning it, and not having it used on him again. Either way, he gained a stance and nodded. A fiery determination to burn through the rest of the progression was evident. Starting, Velix’s body slightly rose. After a cringe, and maybe even his face grimacing, Hoothoot had gotten Velix into the air at almost the same height when it was the other way around. Then, Velix got the power to turn her head, and she found her body started to glow. It was faint, but built up. Owen’s face cringed more and more, but it was clear he was putting his all and receiving a magnificent reward for it: progression. Velix abruptly yelled, but nothing as loud as Owen or Marilyn had. With a gentle drop, Owen nodded towards you. He had learned it, but was extremely tired. He might not be able to do much more right now. [ Sludge Bomb at 75% ] Greta nodded to your explanation, for this once not making a single comment? Though, her training buddy was a bit out of it. Marilyn wobbled up to a normal stance, a balanced recovery. Moving to the ghost type, you could tell that the Confusion from Velix was stronger then you thought. The power gap didn’t help extremely, nor did all the additional boosts; like STAB. Getting ready for the next part, Marilyn grunted, and then talked. She told Greta that she was about to fire off an Ember. As the Gastly got ready, the Vulpix abruptly fired off the attack. In a hastily moment, Greta fired off a rather good sized ball, or bomb. The poison attack stayed together for most of the way, and was actually pretty good. But the Ember hit it and started to deform it. When everything was said and done, the bomb still went a little more, but eventually fell in altitude and burst into a more denser mist, and even had some liquid on the floor. Greta was getting there. On a side note, the docks were on one side of Golderia, where the rest of the town had been subjected by a town of new things for you. Though, staying close to the docks, you had remained isolated from the wilderness outside of town. It didn’t seem to be able to stop you from seeing things. During the attack of Ember, colliding with the Sludge Bomb in progress, a dark silhouette moved quickly along the edges of town. Had it been a thief? Or more? Within the time of the next round, just when you were about to give more orders, the pokemon hit the light from a lightpole, revealing a very disturbing form. Your Poketech had scanned the area by itself, and the light had only giving all that it needed away for a positive ID. The device on your arm soon revealed that the pokemon was none other then a Sudowoodo. A rock type, which was rare in Forests. That is when a map of the island went to display itself. One of the outer lying terrains had been part Forest. It had traveled all the way into the town, and was doing a good job, until the light, to sneak up on you. Did you have enough time to perfect the Sludge Bomb and fight this thing, or run and hope the boat is fixed in the knick of time! Lv.15Edited by Kazuki, Jan 9 2011, 09:20 AM.

The Many Faces of Crosse

Though slow, time was progressing. The sun overhead had begun to set, it orange red hues bathing across the temples that were the prized landmarks of this small but wealthy island, causing the dense city to glow beautifully as he watched from the docks with his head resting in his folded arms. Reese sighed, wanting to visit that gorgeous city, but knowing that all the while that the likeliness of him being accepted by those people was at a minimum at best. Still leaning against the railing, he looked down to his clothes, stolen and well worn from the lack of money he always seemed to have on him. A poor kid in a rich neighborhood never seemed to bring about good things, so it was best for him to stay away. He turned his head slightly as he listened in to the commotion that was erupting behind him; seemed as if Owen and Greta were doing well with their tutoring. He turned around hesitantly, his eyes not wanting to leave the city which he longed to visit, but eventually he came face to face with his small team, seeing that they were all about to finish up their attempts for this round of tutoring. Velix, the small fox who he had just received from a generous trade, quickly trotted over to her new masters side and began to purr as she rubbed up against his legs in a feline like fashion. Reese smiled and lifted her up into his arms, thanking her for all of her help, and then walked over to the others who had just finished. Owen hopped over to Reese’s side, his small face beaming with signs of exhaustion, which caused Reese to sigh out happily. He struggled a bit as he bent down to lift up the small own into his already occupied arms, almost dropping both at them at one point or another, but eventually he had Owen cradled in his right arm and Velix in his left, though the little girl was on her back with her stomach exposed to the air with her tail slinking down over her trainers arms and swinging from side to side eagerly. He thanked them both for their work as he continued to walk over to Greta and Marilyn, who had just finished up their sessions as well, when he bent down and allowed the small golden brown fox to perch herself upon her trainers knee. Greta floated around his head, pleased but wanting to continue with her training, when a presence seemed to approach her. Her eyes flashed red as she sensed the creature approaching, calling out to her master with her telepathic powers to warn him that they were no longer alone on the docks. “Something is near; it’s hostile..” she muttered, her body slowly fading into and out of sight in the waning sun. Reese slowly turned around, with Owen and Velix still cradled in his arms, when he saw the odd Pokemon closing in on him. “Return.” he said, as he pushed Velix into his other arm with Owen, allowing his free hand to reach down and pull of two Pokeballs which he used to return Marilyn and Owen both. With that said and done, he placed Velix down on the ground and spoke to her softly. “I know I haven’t gotten the chance to get to know you better, dear, but please I need your help now; you have a move that will do some good damage to that Sudowoodo..and Greta will be there to help..” he said to the fox, who nodded in response. Looking over to the tree Pokemon, Reese could feel that agitation from the creature like the setting sun on his skin; he knew he was in for a fight, but he wasn’t about to back down and run. “Greta,” he called out with his mind, “you see the major disadvantage we face here, yes? I need you to help out Velix by staying out of the way and using Hypnosis on that Sudowoodo; keep trying until you get that thing asleep. If you have any moves to spare afterwards, go at him with as many Shadow Balls as you can, but keep your distance –I can’t risk you getting hurt. Understood?” he asked as he awaited some sort of response. “Every word.” she said, her swirling body moving closer to the enemy that was on the approach. With Greta and her instructions out of the way, Reese knew now that he could focus on Velix, who was standing next to him barring her little white teeth at the approaching rock monster. “Velix,” he said, snapping her out of this state momentarily, “dear I need you to keep that Sudowoodo’s attention on you; Greta here cannot get hurt, understood? But I need you to use Energy Ball as many times as you can on that thing; preferably three if you can get them in –but keeping Greta safe from him is our main priority. Now go on, and show me what you’ve got little one, I’ll be prepping a Pokeball if we manage to beat this guy down enough –he could be worth something to someone.” And with that, Velix joined Greta on the battle field, as Reese began digging though his pockets for a spare Pokeball. His slender hands came across one of his last two spare Pokeballs, which he whisked out quickly, and kept held tightly in his hand as he watched the battle begin to take place. He needed to do this quickly as he could, because of the ship that was about to depart soon; if the Sudowoodo did not faint by the end of the round, he would throw the Pokeball anyways and cross his fingers before running off towards the ship. |

[ Golderia Town --- Docks ] The Sudowoodo hadn't made it's way to you just yet, but who wanted it too? Velix charged up her move, with also created some light. The Sudowoodo came to a stop, but still was a considerable distance away. The Energy Ball flew from Velix and took the rock type by surprise! The Sudowoodo's limbs started to glow a weird bluish-green, and it took itself into a sprint towards Velix, it's attacker. Dodging easily, the Velix found itself in the air, only to burst with another Energy Ball, but this time, Greta got in there with a Hypnosis. The sleep-inducing move seemed to have missed it while stumbling, but the Energy Ball knocked it. A weird aura faded over Sudowoodo, and Velix could sense that it's Special Defense dropped. One more, and it could possibly be over? Maybe, maybe not. Swinging around, Velix was hit with the Wood Hammer, a new (or second) one. As she was launched into the air, and a back flip, she fired off a third Energy Ball. It was a short lived battle, but gained the interest of the Sudowoodo. A bird flying over swooped down, nearly taking Velix out, but instead caught a hold of Sudowoodo and lifted the rock pokemon up and away. The bird later was seen as a Skarmory, who must be allies with the Sudowoodo and saving it from you. Time to go back to tutoring! Velix gets 7.5 ![]() Has 12.7 / 14 now! Pokeball ready and in hand, Reese pulled back his arm to try and gain some momentum before the big release, when a shattering caw from overhead broke though his trance –causing him to stumble forwards. He prevented himself form hitting his face against the docks with his hands, with which he blocked his fall, before looking up half heartedly to see that a Skarmory was gracing him with his presence. The shimmering tone that lit up his metallic skin was beautiful, especially in the orange sun as it sunk beneath the mountains over yonder, but of course things could never be as wonderful as that without a price. The bird, demonic in some ways and a graceful goddess in others, clipped her talons against the flesh of her fallen wild comrade, and then heaved him up and into the sky –disappearing from sight in only a matter of seconds. “What the devil..?” muttered Greta, the purple mist around her becoming more vibrant as the sun continued to disappear from sight. “All of that bloody nonsense and what does he do? –the bastard flees!” Velix, who was also somewhat shocked with the whole situation, titled her head to the side up at Greta once, then noticed Reese, and sped off to greet him. Reese managed to pick himself up off the floor, only to see the faces of Velix and Greta approaching him. The small fox lunged her body into his legs, almost knocking him over once more, but began to purr affectionately as she rubbed her limber body up against his prosthetic leg. Reese smiled, scratching the back of his head awkwardly, before taking one last look at the sky overhead. He sighed before turning, beckoning the others to follow, as he made his way up and around the docks back towards the boat in the harbor. He uneasily took several steps onto the ship, nearly falling over since he wasn’t used to the feeling of being on water again, but after grabbing onto a railing he slowly became adjusted to it –which allowed him to pick up where he had left off. ![]() Sludge Bomb Now that they were back on the boat, Edgar could continue with his tutoring of Sludge Bomb to Greta, who was slowly but steadily getting a better and better hang of it. From her last attempt, the two of them had learned that she was trying to use the move in one massive ball of sludge, and then they tried to have it hold its own against Marilyn’s beastly little Ember attack. In the end, the massive ball burst into a thing mist of toxic poisons, which quickly dispersed into the air so thinly that it no longer caused a threat to anyone on the ship. Scratching the back of his head, Reese began on his small trip over towards the female specter, who was floating around impatiently on the ship. Upon Reese’s arrival, she spoke to him, saying that she knew that she was getting closer to finishing this move but for some reason she still wasn’t progressing as fast as she wanted to; she still seemed infuriated that she had mastered all of her other moves in a timely manner and that this one seemed to be taking longer than normal. Huffing, she finished off her small tangent, and returned her focus to Reese who had begun to think up some other means of bettering her tutoring status. Reese began playing around with his watch once more, trying to look for more images that could perhaps help Greta along. The ghostly creature seemed to notice this, for she floated over to her master and rested behind his shoulder, watching as Reese played along with his watch before them. Eventually an image appeared, which he showed to the ghost before speaking up. “See,” he would say, “notice how with Grimer that he has the sludge broken up into multiple small balls that he fires off towards his opponent; you were using one massive ball of sludge before, so let’s try to change it to this; it might better suit your small size. Now, when focusing on the sludge forming in your body, rather than forming it into one massive ball I want you to condense it into multiple small ones; each with a thick density. You see, when your attack intercepted Marilyn’s it broke out into a mist, which is what we used as the basis for your attack, but we need to make that part go away and to fill it with pure sludge so that, hopefully, when your attacks intercept the embers will simply break up your attack into more smaller ones which can cover a larger distance. So try again, try and form it into multiple shapes rather than one before firing, and then let Marilyn know so that she can throw an Ember your way. The two of you, I want you to keep trying; don’t try only once, do it multiple times until you think that you can’t progress no more and then, if you still need help Greta, I will try and think of something different to help you along.” Greta nodded and beckoned Marilyn to follow her, while Reese decided to keep his eye open to see if any potential trainers walked onto the ship that he possibly could battle. |

[ Golderia Town --- Docks ] Without warning, a loud noise burst through the air. It was a horn of some type. Then you realized the boat had been ready. Its loud horn blew, letting everyone who had gotten off know it’d be leaving shortly. You had to get on soon! Preferably within the next few minutes. So, get ready, cause someone is going to Millenia Town! And for free. Once there, you can get on with going to Nogou. After all that has happened, the tutor for Hypnosis--that is what you were looking for, right?--better be free. Damnit, if it isn't, you should destroy Nogou. Just kidding, I highly doubt that'd be slightly possible. Though, your dream of getting a free tutor instead of doing it yourself would come soon enough. and Sludge Bomb [ Learned ]Gastly studied the picture, and she seemed to like this idea more. When she focused, and after several minutes found herself ready, nodding to Vulpix to confirm she is as well. As Gastly tried the barrage of mini sludge bombs, Marilyn fired off fiery pellets. Some of the sludge bombs seemed to melt away, but others got through and exploded nicely. It seemed right; Greta learned Sludge Bomb. Edited by Kazuki, Jan 14 2011, 12:08 AM.

“That was perfect!” said Reese as he slipped on his fingerless gloves, trying to warm his hands as the night that continued to quickly approach them as they set sail once again over the vast ocean. He stuck in one of his hands down into his pockets, only to reveal that he had two Pokeballs in his hands as it returned to the light that was slowly fading away with the setting sun. He rubbed one between his fingers, as if he was trying to warm it up, and then used it to return little Marilyn from the cold winds that were beginning to sweep across the deck after thanking her for her help. Tucking that away now, he tossed the next ball out and into the air, releasing Owen back into action after his rest from tutoring. The bird, talons clamped to the railing which he stood upon, tilted his head curiously as Reese approached with Greta floating closely behind. The young man held out an arm, allowing the small owl to jump up off the railing and perch himself momentarily before climbing up to his shoulder which he then sat atop of. He shivered slightly as the cold winds rushed in once again, scooting closer to Reese’s head to warm himself, as he turned away from the edge of the boat and beckoned Greta to follow –who at the time was watching the sun die before her eyes; she was free from that crippling being at last! Slowly, the trio traveled below the deck, escaping the frigid winds which always seemed to plague the sea and embracing the warmth that was being emitted from the heaters around them. He began to rub his arms with hands, slowly warming himself more as he trudged deeper into the crowd of people who stayed below deck on this travel. He enjoyed being alone more; he didn’t like the stuffiness of all the people that were clogging the small cabins, but he had a mission in mind –he wanted to find someone to battle. He honestly didn’t care who as he looked around and around, all he wanted was for both Owen and Greta to gain some more experience while battling –almost as if he wanted to try and equal all of the levels on his team out. Nevertheless, he continued to search around, just looking for someone who could potentially engage him in battle; he didn’t care what Pokemon they had or how strong they were..he knew that he needed to find any type of challenge and take it head on, for it was the only way that he himself was going to grow stronger as a person. |

[ Boat (Again) ] …Refs ~ 1 / 5 Getting on the boat, you knew damn well it meant more time to waste. While resting could take off a big chunk, if not all, of the time, battling just seemed like the thing to do. Which no one can blame you for! As it appeared, everyone was back on the boat, just the same people and a few more. Over to the side of the boat’s ballroom-like set up, a woman dressed in a nice purple dress, hugging her hips, with a fur scarf thrown around her neck. She seemed to have a purse with her, and attached to the sides were a fashionable layout of four pokeballs. While at the same time, a man was up on a ledge, looking out and over the ballroom setup. He had been eying the lady for several minutes, and had been, no doubt, debating whether or not to talk to her or challenge her. His wore a suit, a deep black, with a tie that was red and stuck out. He had four pokeballs gently juggling in his hand, so you knew he was debating on the challenge part. It was your time to grab whichever. The man or the woman. Each had four pokemon, which was one less then you. I’m sure you want training for the lesser leveled pokemon. However, Velix would come in handy if need be. |

The Many Faces of Crosse

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP. Wheeling himself around, Reese looked for the source of the noise, a sense of panic starting to overcome his normally calm face; why was he getting so worked up? Was it just the unexpectedness of the odd noise that caught him of guard? That could have been the case, considering that he was a very skittish person, hell, he nearly fell down the stairs just from being started by his Poketech –which he just now found out was the source of the commotion. Besides the staircase, with the ballroom and its people looming just over yonder, he propped his back against the wall and tried to calm his raspy breathing before he began to poke at the odd mechanism on his wrist. Though Greta and Owen were indeed quite worried about their trainer, they didn’t interfere with his recovery; it was almost as if that they knew that he needed to handle his psychological problems on his own and without the help of others..perhaps Greta had sensed this and relayed the information to Owen? Sounded plausible..but now, poking at the watch with his shaking index finger, a small smiled seemed to slip out upon his face as he agreed to the transaction. Pulling his finger back, he listened to the watch as it thought out loud, and then moments later a Pokeball materialized before it which Reese caught in his other hand. He studied the mechanism for a few moments, taking in the coolness of the metal on the ball, before he tossed it up and into the air and watched as if released the newest member of his team. Sitting on the ground before him, legs sprawled out and head titled back to look at the roof of the boat, appeared a small Spinda..and she was adorable! He studied the unique pattern of her face for a moment, since it always seemed to be different for members of this species, and decided that she had four spots on her face: one over left eye, one on the frontal part of her skull, one at the top of her right ear, and then a relatively small one on her other. She tilted her head to the side, studying Reese and her new comrades with her swirled eyes, before squeaking and jumping up to her feet. She swayed back and forth as she stood, almost as if she was dancing in place, her head limply rolling about in all directions as she began to giggle and reach her arms up towards Reese like a child. The young man scooped the small rabbit like creature into his cradled arms and watched as she nuzzled herself into his chest, muttering "Spinda, spindaaaaaaa!” all the while. “Well hello there,” Reese would say when he finally got the little ones attention, “my name is Reese, it’s very nice to meet you. This here is Greta and her on my shoulder is Owen.” he said, gesturing to the other two Pokemon that were out of his party. The bear nodded and smiled, greeting them in her own language as she cuddled deeper into Reese’s cupped arms, taking advantage at the warmth he seemed to give off. “Do you like the name Nell? It’s cute , isn’t it? I was thinking you might like it..” he said, watching to see if the bear would respond positively. And she did, giggling and hugging at Reese like an infant to a big old dog; it had been decided, Nell was to be her name And so, with Owen on his shoulder, Nell cradled in his arms, and Greta floating alongside him he continued down into the ballroom in search of potential sparring partners. Two eventually caught his attention, each having four Pokemon on their person, meaning that each of his own (excluding Velix, who had a lot of experience compared to the others) would be able to participate in a battle of some kind and earn at least some experience –especially Nell, for she was the youngest in the group now. He casually walked over to the man and woman, eyes bright and happy, hopping that his childish and loving demeanor would take away from the sight of his shoddy clothes (exceptionally shoddy when compared to the others on the ship). But as he continued to walk on, a thought came to him: it seemed as if the man over yonder was quite interested in that woman and Reese, being the loving and helpful person her turned out to be, decided that perhaps he could be some help. “Excuse me sir,” he would say, after climbing up the steps towards the balcony, “I don’t mean to be bothersome, but would you perhaps care for a battle? My team here could really use some experience. The thing is though, unfortunately, I find it easier and more enjoyable to compete in double battles –and I’m fine not having a partner or anything.” he said, trying to beat around the bush to make it not so obvious that he wanted to help him out with his “lady troubles”. “Would you rather battle alone,” he would say, continuing the conversation, or do you have someone else who may want to participate –like your friend down there..” he would say, gesturing slightly with his head down towards the elegant woman. He tilted his head to the side and smiled brightly; he hoped he could help the man and get a battle out of it too. Edited by Crosse, Jan 20 2011, 04:46 PM.

(Ref is short, sorry. Its mainly because it was just starting the fight.) [ Boat (Again) ] …Refs ~ 2 / 5 Introducing a new friend to the team was always a swell thing to do. But time progressed, and you wanted this boat ride to end. It feels like you’ve been on here forever, and in a way, you have. Walking up to the man on top of the stairs, you found another wide and opened spot. You realized that, because of the delay, they put you on a more luxurious boat. Upon approaching, the man spotted you. ”Hey kid, do you need help with something?” He said, before you could speak. When he heard what you had to say, he seemed a little angry. Probably didn’t know why you were speaking as you were to him. But an offer on the battle seemed fine. The man took out a wad of money. ”Four hundred dollars, up front. All you have to do if beat my Houndours in a few rounds. Game?” The man slide the money in his pocket and slide his hand down to get the pokeballs. Out came two Houndour, and you could gain quite the buck for beating them. 10 10 |

Reese took a step backwards, for he felt the surge of irritation flowing out from the man all of a sudden, quite unexpectedly might I add. The young man furrowed his eyebrows, quite confused with the drama that was beginning to burst, but then the man had a change of heart and agreed to battle, even putting up quite a health sum of money as a reward if Reese could manage to beat him. The young man watched as the gentleman released his two Pokemon out and onto the field, which was actually just a hallway in front of the balcony besides the stairs –was this enough room? Reese had Greta, who could use intangible travel, so she wasn’t a problem, but two mutts, an owl, and an oddly deformed rabbit it one little area? Some adjustments needed to be made, Reese knew that for sure. Turning around, he gently placed Nell down and onto the ground behind him, allowing her to play on the staircase after he told her not to wonder off because he had something else in store for her after he finished up with Greta and Owen. The rabbit nodded and waltzed away, climbing up and down the stairs like a attention deficit disorder; her mind seemed to be everywhere. Returning to the man though, Reese actually took a few moments to realize what he was up against. “They’re beautiful..” he said to the man, a sense of awe washing over him especially when he saw the female who was preparing herself mentally for battle. Shaking his head though, he knew that he too needed to get ready, when a little voice decided to intercede. “Things will get real ugly real quick if you don’t have a plan of some sort up your sleeve, Manson.” hissed the voice of the lovely specter who was fading in and out of sight before him. Reese nodded to himself, taking in a deep breath, as he allowed the telepathic connection to take hold of his thoughts. “You’re right; I know. We need to play this as safe as we can.” he replied as his mind began to come up with multiple ideas of how he could cope with this situation. “Their abilities are our main problem,” he said, “Flash Fire and Early Bird I believe.” chimed in Greta, finishing Reese’s thoughts for him. “My Hypnosis will be our best bet, but once they go down we will need to finish them off quickly –I need perfect accuracy to get this done.” she said. Owen, who was still sitting on Reese’s shoulder titled his head from side to side. He seemed to know that the two of them were communicating with one another, but he was getting a little angsty about not being in on the plan. He pressed his talons harder down into Reese’s shoulder, making his trainer realize that he had accidentally forgotten about him, and then relayed a plan to Greta. “Our best bet is to be on our toes and to keep up the element of surprise; the man might not know that I’ve taught you Telepathy –which we will use to our advantage. Reach out to Owen, let him know what is going on, and then give him my orders for me if you will. Tell him I need him to distract each of the Houndour’s by using Air Slash on each of them, and then to take flight if things get ugly. Tell him to try and avoid being hit by any Ember attack at all costs..” he said, waiting for Greta to turn his attention back to him for her own orders. “What about me?” she said once she had given her owl friend his own set of orders. “You my dear are our element of surprise.” said Reese, a small smile peaking up on his face. “While the hounds are distracted with Owen,” he continued, “I need you to put that intangibility to work; use it to hide beneath the floorboards and approach the Houndours. You need to position yourself right below them, then poke your face out and try to use Hypnosis at a point blank range before retreating back into the floor. Try it on both of them. But if they attack before you get a chance retreat back beneath the floor and wait to try again, try to mix it up if you can so that they won’t be expecting it. Sound good?” he said to the ghost, who smiled mischievously and nodded in response. ![]() Dizzy Punch With their battle plan now into place, all there was to do was to wait for someone to make the first move, during which Reese quickly called over Nell who was flopping around helplessly along the stairs. It was quite adorable, in a matter of speaking, watching the little rabbit as she stumbled up and down the stairs, quickly disorienting herself, before something random would catch her little swirled eyes and she would gaze at it almost religiously. She was giggling now, trying to climb up the stairs to Reese, when the lamps overhead caught her eye. She watched them as they began to rock back and forth, from the waves that still existence beneath the tons of wood and steel they now stood upon. She seemed fascinated by them, but then, almost instantly, she took her eyes away and began trying to make her way up the stairs again. She would make it to the top soon enough though, but her two left feet would cause her to fall over flat on her face the moment her feet meet a flat and solid surface. Reese smiled awkwardly, knowing that it was in her nature, but he still felt somewhat sorry for her –despite how adorable she was acting. She eventually made her way to Reese in a zig zag pattern, flopping around and nearly falling over two or three times before she even reached her trainer, but in the end she managed to do so without hurting herself. Reese quickly lifted the little girl up and into his arms, where he began to prod at his Poketech with a free hand until he managed to get a few images to appear on the screen. “Nell, I want you to look at this real quick and this photo as well. The first one you see is a Buneary using Dizzy Punch and the other is of a Spinda, like you, using the same move. This is what I want to try and teach you because, sweetheart, you’re going to need a lot stronger moves in your move set okay? Now, pay close attention to the Spinda, because like him you will be using your fist rather than your ears..er..unless you want to. But tha’s besides the point right now,” he said, slowly putting her back down onto the ground. “This is going to take some practice, so don’t get overconfident, but what I want you to start doing is simply start dancing around for me. Start off as normal and then eventually warp it into something more hectic and uncontrolled, but most importantly I want you to have fun while you dance. I’m thinking the more that I allow your personality to slip into your dancing and your movements it might be beneficial to our training, so go all out sweetheart. Make the room spin..but stay away from the stairs for god’s sake..and once you’re having enough fun I want you to begin by focusing on your attack power and try to concentrate it to your fists. Let’s see if we can at least get this down first..” he said to Nell, who saluted him whiles she awkwardly tried to keep her balance before him. She was toooo cute! |

[ Boat (Again) ] …Refs ~ 2.5 / 5 The art of surprise… Greta was going to be a ninja! Face it! But before that could happen, she had to wait for Owen to take the initiative. When he did, she immediately sank into the floor. The man gave a low grunt, waiting to see what would happen. Owen took some altitude and swatted with his wing, making two blades of dense air. Being made of air, they were quick. There was some element of surprise already. The Houndours didn’t know what was coming, but when it did, they felt the pressure hit their faces, and were perfectly distracted. This was a perfect opportunity for Gastly. Appearing from behind them, she used Hypnosis on the left one, knocking it out instantly. As for the other, well, she wasn’t as lucky. The man shouted something out and the canines were trained to be quick. Leaping up, dodging the most of the waves, it used an Ember and got to hit Gastly with some of it. The awake Houndour had turned back around, eyes drooping from being drowsy.
and Dizzy Punch at [ 20% ]Without any real music, how was one to grasp the full feeling of an exciting dance moment? Even without it, the Spinda tried its harder, and started to circle you with bouncing movements. It might not have been your kind of dancing, but to Spinda it was busting a move. Through it all, Spinda began to get happier. A smile crossed her face; but soon it was time to get serious. Focusing on her attack, and pushing it to her fist, Spinda might just have a nice Strike attack. She had the feeling of energy, and a special rhythm in her head, but nothing close to the picture just yet. |

The Many Faces of Crosse

Reese expected this battle to devious and brutal; the strength mainly consisting with the enemy team while his focused on using cunning tactics that would hopefully not only evade oncoming attacks but allow them to get in quite a few good hits and take out the power houses while they could. Greta, who was namely the one taking down the opponents defenses by lulling them to sleep and whatnot, managed to hide beneath the ground for quite a good deal of time –eventually placing her vexing spell on one of her foes and causing the other to become nearly blinded with drowsiness. She had been hit though; something Reese hadn’t hoped for. Upon returning to his side though, she seemed fine, her spirit hadn’t been broken from the pain of the relatively strong fire based move and she still wanted to go on. Reese nodded to her, confirming that he understood, while he awaited Owen to return onto his shoulder once more. The owl, who had better outcomes during the battle, perched himself upon his trainers shoulder and looked around as he began to hoot repeatedly. With a final nod to himself, Reese returned his attention to the battle, where he began to think up some new plot for battle. “Care to share those ideas you are thinking ov?” popped up a voice in his head, sarcastic in a way but with a severe and serious undertone lurking beneath it. Reese kept his eyes on the Houndour, trying to keep the old man from figuring out that he managed to communicate telepathically –he wanted to keep this advantage as long as he could. “Yes I do,” he responded, noticing a small change in her pronunciation. “Let Owen know of his orders first; tell him that I need him to use Air Slash twice now on the sleeping male, a third time if he hadn’t knocked it out before, and tell him to keep a good distance in case he decided to wake up early. Now for you my dear,” he said, the voice in his head trailing off a bit, “I need you to vanish again, this time use the wall though to disappear and then use the floor to reappear alright? The female Houndour is drowsy, so we have an advantage, but I need you and try to put her to sleep with Hypnosis and keep trying till you get her down for the count. If you have any available moves left after that, well, go ahead and use Sludge Bomb to beat down her health while she sleeps. Now be careful,” he said, trying to hear out that odd pronunciation that he had heard earlier. “Pssst, ov course I vill.” she said..and there it was again! Perhaps Reese’s relationship was becoming better between Greta and himself, which was causing a positive progress to immerge in their telepathic communication –a type of progress that would reveal Greta’s own voice and not the first female voice his sub consciousness could think of to fill in the words she was speaking? It was odd, very odd, but quite cute in a matter of speaking. |

Derping... All Day, Every Day!

[ Boat (Again) ] …Refs ~ 3 / 5 With the battle between your odd combo, and a man’s prized Houndour, a line that allowed you to earn some money! Not even his last pokemon, but a money winning shot! With one Houndour sleeping, and the other one up and about, it was time for your plan to try to go through and make each one sleeping. However, the male had been seemed to be twitching, and clearly going to wake soon enough. Greta went off, immediately, launching what seemed to be another round of Hypnosis after going to take shelter in a wall. The Houndour had watched the movements, but very slow in doing so. The drowsy canine was moving slower than usual, and the Hypnosis was bound for a direct hit. Which, evidentially, it did. Houndour fell to the ground, letting out a muffled snore. During that time, Greta had been working up a Sludge Bomb. Owen had been crafting and conjuring the blades of air. ”Not bad. Don’t forget about their abilities. They should be up and running after you in no time at all!” The man said, seeming sure and confident. Owen got in the first two hits of his Air Slash, and waiting a few moments to examine if there had been any extent of which he’d need a third. Just as the male Houndour seemed to be sleeping, it started getting up. Owen, nearly in shock, fired a third Air Slash, but when it hit it only seemed to make the Houndour flinch at first. It was still up! In an angry stance, the Houndour arched its head up and fired off a rather long Ember. Now Owen seemed to be in danger! On the other side of things, a rather good sized sphere hovered at a good speed to the sleeping female. Looking over, the Male seemed to have an urge to help, but instead barked, trying to wake its gender counterpart up. It didn’t seem to work, so the Sludge Bomb hit. Such a strong hit seemed to immediately wake it up, and made it flinch and startled. It didn’t attack right off, like the male, but instead seemed hurt. It was just lucky enough, or unlucky for the canine, and lucky for you, that it was poisoned. Trading sleep for poison! ”Not bad. Next round, we’ll have to go all out!” The man ranted, trying to use words to taunt you. Clearly, you had this in the bad. The male Houndour seemed tired, and weary of its immediate surroundings. The female, now poisoned, seemed to be startled.
