The Many Faces of Crosse
|
“Hey, hey, it’s okay –lie down” said Reese after her turned around, only to see that Emily had stirred from her unconscious state and was now trying to feel her way around the dimly lit boat. The wind outside hissed as the storm blew overhead, both Marilyn and Hoothoot ran from where their previous battle had taken place and cuddled themselves into the laps of their trainers. Reese pet his the little fox’s head, she was so sweet, she had been so marvelous in battle –he was proud. The canine yawned and drifted off asleep in his lap as Hoothoot did the same to his trainer, then the four decided it was time to wait out the storm. The moment of silence screeched against Reese’s ears, his ears were ringing, the silence was like a horrible wail that raged within his ears. Despite the pain, he looked up, and saw that the blackness from outside the window had dulled and rolled off towards the distance. Reese grunted as he pushed himself up off the floor, accidentally knocking Marilyn off of his lap. The fox growled at him, but decided rather than arguing she decided that she would just cuddle up next to Emily. She yawned again and the little girl slightly stirred, but drifted back to sleep. Looking down, Reese could see the three of them snuggled against one another beneath the desk, totally unaware that the storm had died outside. Reese smiled at them and laughed to himself silently, then made his way over to the window and leaned against the wall and watched the world pass by through the window. About ten minutes later, a noise rustled behind him. He turned around and looked, seeing the little girl having awoken and sitting up from where she had previously lay. Marilyn and Hoothoot seemed to wake up around the same time she did, then hopped off of her lap and landed onto the cold steel floor behind her. Reese quickly wandered over to the girl and helped her up, placing one arm over his shoulders and propping her weight against his body; he needed to get her out of here, now that she was completely lucid. Together they made their way out of the boat and into the cold fluffy snow below, then began to hike their way out away from the center and towards the Pokemon center that sat on the hill over yonder. Marilyn trotted alongside the two of them, blowing away puffs of snow and freezing air with small miniature Ember attacks, while Hoothoot sat on Reese’s head as continued to help carry Emily over to the center. The little fox blew down the block of snow that covered the front doors with ease, allowing them access into the warm center. The nurse took Emily into the back room, along with Reese’s Pokemon, and went along with healing them from whatever damage they had received. Meanwhile Reese wandered over to the PC and reorganized his team; he stored Mawile and the male Gastly into the PC. He turned around after logging off, just in time to see the nurse approaching him with two Pokeballs in hand. He took little Marilyn and the Gastly’s, who he decided on Greta for a name, Pokeballs and clipped them to his belt. Looking up, he could see Emily and Hoothoot running off towards her parents, and Reese slowly approached. The young girl’s mother ran out towards him, wrapping him in her arms and crying out about how thankful she was that Reese was around. Reese nodded and backed away, and awkward smile on his face, and began going on about how it was nothing and that he didn’t need to be thanked. The father approached and placed a wad of bills in Reese’s hands, thanking him for what he had done, then mentioned something about a move tutor. Reese’s ears perked up as the words escaped his lips, then turned and nodded eagerly toward the father. “Sir?” he began, “Do you really know someone that could help me with move tutoring? That would be, well, hell, amazing if you did I would be so thankful!” he laughed, looking down to Marilyn who sat on the ground besides him. “I’ve wanted this little girl to learn Hypnosis for a long time, but I don’t have the skill or idea to teach her this on my own!” His attention was then caught by Emily, who had approached her and thanked him for saving her. Reese scratched the back of his head awkwardly and continued to go on about how it was nothing and that she didn’t need to thank her. But, in the end, she offered up Hoothoot. Reese had a fondness for their species and decided that he would adopt him and take him under his wing, so to say, but allowed them to say their goodbyes for a moment while he returned his attention to the father –waiting for his answer and his directions to get to the man who could help little Marilyn out with Hypnosis. |

You decided to take the move tutor, and of course you took advantage of it and made it an egg move. Brilliant! The Father smiled that you took his gift, and he immediately took out a notepad, and a pen, and began to write the address. When he gave it to you, there was only bad news. "It is my dad. He is great at move tutoring. The only problem you'll have is that he lives in Nogou. It takes a long time from Shimo to Millenia, and you'll have to find a way there. However, if you're going, it'll be leaving today in a hour. Hope you're ready to meet him. He can be a little grumpy at times." It seemed like the rest of the time at the Pokemon Center was praise and thanks. Hoothoot became yours, which you took no time at all naming it. As time had passed, you were left with the decision to go through with the travel (plot) or not (no plot). Standing at the docks, this was your time to make your decision. It would take twelve refs from Shimo to Millenia. Non-battle refs, either. No one said anything about move tutoring, right? Either way, the next part is whether you went or not. Of course, if you don't travel, then you don't need to read the next part... just simple try to find something else to do.
*The plot is already up. |

The Many Faces of Crosse
|
Reese kept his mouth shut as the father continued talking to him, despite the eagerness that was flowing about inside of his frail body. He looked down to little Marilyn as he spoke, seeing her rub up against his legs in a feline manner until she curled up and rested against her ankles. She could do wonders with a move like Hypnosis, and not only that but what made Reese most ancy was the fact that he would have a fire typed Pokemon with a good number of psychic type moves in her arsenal –the perfect combination in his mind. He smiled at the man after he had finished and told him that he would take him up on that offer and head down to the docks as soon as he got his bearings together. The father, of course, understood and left him at that to go see to his wife and daughter, who were cuddled together on one of the many push seats in the Pokemon Center. Reese didn’t have much; his preparations were more so mental than physical. He contemplated the idea of leaving Shimo, leaving the cold which he grew up with and loved so much, to move to a place that was coated with green and plants that he had never seen. Not only that, but Shimo was desolate –which he liked. Surely once he traveled to the mainland there would be people, people everywhere, doing this or doing that without a care in the world about his existence or what they may do to other people. Reese frowned to himself a little; this was tougher than he had originally thought. Leave the cold? Leave the solitude that he loved so much? Or stay in his winter wasteland and go on without this beautiful move for little Marilyn. He didn’t want to deny her an opportunity to grow and strengthen her attacks..but he didn’t want to leave..whose wants would he place over the other? He huffed slightly and pulled out a Pokeball from his pocket and then used it to recall little Marilyn, then he threw out a new one. In seconds, little Greta appeared at his side, her eyes wide and mischievous and her mouth agape as she laughed her name aloud. Reese nodded at her and introduced himself, then beckoned the little one to follow suit. Quickly the two of them followed the path they had each previously taken, eventually arriving at the desolate docks where a new boat would pull into the shipyard in only a matter of minutes. Reese held out a wad of bills in one hand as he watched the ship approach over the horizon; he knew he didn’t have much. Perhaps he should go as a stow away again? He contemplated the idea as he walked out along the docks with little Greta behind him. The ship hooted as it continued to approach, and Reese had made up his mind. He would try and have Greta distract the conductor so that he could sneak aboard and not have to pay, but if things went awry and looked like they were going turn out to be really bad, he would just fork over the money and throw himself down in his room to sob about how he literally has no money to his name. He nodded to himself once, informed Greta of his plan, and then finally quickened their pace to greet the ship as it entered the harbor. |

What a sneaky little bastard you were going to be. As the boat nearly ran into the docks, it let out a loud whistle. The loud noise was nearly ear-popping, and hurful to hear. Definitely, it alerted everyone that the boat was here. A few people had already been waiting for it, as well as you. As they all got on, the conductor of the ship came out to see Shimo, and to meet some of the guest. Greta nodded at you, and went to business. She floated high up on the boat to meet the man, and when he seemed shocked to find a Gastly, he turned to face her--his back to you, and now was nearly the perfect chance. Going up the ramp, you seemed almost in the clear. The best part now... Greta seemed to be scaring the tool. He ran inside, swung the door, and nearly locked you out. However, it didn't close all the way. Once you got inside, it seemed the man left. Better if you put Greta away, maybe, but nonetheless it worked. You were on for free. The inside of the boat didn't look as fancy as the titanic, but was certainly big. It had to be sturdy and comfortable to travel within the lines of Shimo, the icy cold city. The boat seemed to leave immediately. Greta did such a great job. The people had all been sitting and found a man to escort them to their rooms. If you go, you'll see the rooms aren't that big and good to sleep (lowers boat ref count by 2 for each hour, maximum of 4 hours). Otherwise, the lobby of the boat seemed open, warm, and perfect for some tutoring. Everyone was going to bed, so why not. The conductor never came out again. It had been some time and the man failed to show his face. Not only were they in a cleared are, but he had very well the time to explore and visit with guests. In the lobby, a man came down, sitting at a table to rest a little while having a drink. A woman, dressed in what almost looked like Eskimo gear, sat down and enjoyed herself a drink. She must be cold. Each sported a pokeball on them; the man had one attached to his belt, as the woman had one made into a nice necklace (probably magnettic). Lv.12 |||| Lv.12*Battle Refs count has half, I think. Maybe none at all. Up to you, and don't forget the option of tutoring or sleep. Boat Refs: 10 Edited by Kazuki, Nov 23 2010, 08:52 AM.

Reese managed to sneak around the boat with ease; he had done so many shenanigans similar to this that it was almost or no difficulty anymore. He could sneak onto ships and avoid pay, pinch a loaf of bread off of a shelf without no body noticing, and he could sneak around pilfer any spare change or loose wallets that lay loosely in people pockets; he didn’t like this habit, but he was sure as hell good at it. So, for the first few hours of his trip, he stayed hidden, submerged in shadows, clinging tightly to the corners as he rounded about the ship looking for a place to lay low until some more time passed by. Slowly but soon enough, Reese inched out from his cover and joined in with the others that had boarded the ship, taking the appearance of an everyday trainer who had gathered enough money to pay their way onto the ship..rather than sneaking aboard. Greta floated alongside him as he continued to go about, investigating the wonders of the ship. He eventually came to the diner, where he noticed two adults, probably a little older than him, sitting down tending to their plates and their drinks while their Pokeballs sat out on the table before them. Beneath the man’s legs poked the red lustrous orb that served as the eye of the Staryu, while a small Spheal rolled about next to her female trainer. He wanted to battle, so that Owen and Greta could gain some more experience (they were still young, especially when compared to the skill level of Marilyn), but upon looking at the two of them he realized that he was at a dangerous disadvantage if he did bid his team against theirs; his team had moves that were weak against his opponents and they had moves that were strong against him. Not a good match up. Not a good match up at all. So, rather than watching his team get their poor asses beat, he decided that it would be best to wander up to the docks and possibly get in some tutoring. He hiked up the stairs and twisted around the staircases, trying is best to get up to the upper dock as quick as he could. Pulling open the steel door, he was greeted by a cold sea wind that lashed across his face, but he pushed through the initial attack and walked out onto the dock. It only took a few seconds before his nose and eyes became accustomed to the salty sea wind, which then, after rubbing his eyes, he released his team in order to begin the tutoring process. ![]() Attract The first one on Reese’s list was his little Marilyn, who had grown quite strong since the beginning of their journey. So, with a quick flick of the wrist, he released her onto the boat and waited for a moment, a smile across his face, as she tried to get accustomed to the waves beneath her that were throwing off her balance. She struggled for the first five minutes or so, but eventually gained some sense of balance, then turned her curious little eyes up to Reese. She tilted her head to the side once and called out her name, as if she was asking what she was doing outside of her ball –and most importantly what the hell she was doing on a boat. A boat. A boat that is surrounded by water. She frowned at this, especially when Reese didn’t understand, and he then turned his focus back to the aspect of move tutoring. “What we’re going to do, little Marilyn, is move tutor while we wait for this boat to reach port in Millenia and then from there we will travel to Nogou!” he said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly when Marilyn tilted her head to the side –she still didn’t understand. “There is someone in Nogou,” he explained, “that can help teach you Hypnosis..which would be amazing. But that is a whole different kind of move tutoring than what we are going to do now; right now we are going to try out a move know as Attract. What I want you to do is begin by using Ember on yourself; this should bring out more of your inner beauty –not that you are not pretty already.” Marilyn raised an eyebrow with a frown on her face, it was almost as if she was telling her trainer to watch his next words carefully. Reese began nodding to himself; he needed to word this right before he got an Ember to the face. “You see..” he tried to explain, “you right now are one of the most beautiful Pokemon ever, but when you activate your ability you pull an even deeper beauty out –I noticed it when we battled. Your eyes glowed a deep golden orange, with red tints added in –like the setting sun! Your fur became glossy and even more luxurious; the color seemed to be richer. It even seemed as if your tail got more extravagant curls and were colored like freshly cut rosewood! It was beyond beautiful..” Marilyn studied him for some time, taking in the information and thinking back to her battles. She didn’t notice any physical change in her appearance, but of course she wasn’t paying attention, but something did feel different about her when she coated herself in her small embers. She felt stronger. It was almost as if she could feel her bones strengthening, the fire inside of her heating and warming her muscles, increasing her vision, and forcing more adrenaline to pump through her system. She did feel better, physically and mentally, but to have her appearance increased as well was a whole new sensation. She yipped playfully, glad to be doing what she was, and waited for further instructions from Reese. “Now you see,” Reese began, “the point of this move is to make your opponent fall in love with you, so that they do not want to attack and hurt you. That, of course, could be used to our advantage. Now, like I said before, use Ember on yourself to bring out that beautiful ability you have. When you feel it working, I want you to begin looking cute; perk your ears, tilt your head to the side as if your shy, and flux your tails behind you; I want this to be a cute attraction..not a slutty one. So, right now we will just work out making you even more pretty and focusing on your body language, alright?” he said. Marilyn nodded, understanding what he wanted her to try and do, yipping once before turning around and getting down to business. ![]() Air Slash After having dealt with little Marilyn, Reese let out the next one in his team to get accustomed to the new environment. Surprisingly, Owen seemed to adapt much more quickly to the rocking boat then Marilyn did; he had only two legs to balance with and Marilyn had four, yet he still managed to balance better. Perhaps it was the fact that he was actually hopping back and forth from one leg to another than managed to keep him steady? Hell, Reese had no idea, but he quickly walked over to the small owl and scooped him up into his arms. The little bird hooted and snuggled into his warm clothes, trying to escape the freezing weather that was blistering against his exposed back and feet. Reese laughed a little, then began rubbing the owl’s wings to help heat him up and get blood flowing. Eventually the bird calmed down, but he still shook with cold chills even when he was still wrapped in Reese’s arms. “Now look,” said Reese, “the only way that you are going to get warm is if you start doing some physical activities and get your blood pumping to heat up your muscles. Now, luckily for you mister I’ve got just the idea to get your blood flowing. We are going to move tutor –see Marilyn over there? She is also trying out a move of her own, and she’ll need your help with it later on, but for now what I need you to do is to concentrate on yourself and what I say, alright buddy?” The owl tilted his head to one side, then the other, then proceeded to turn his head all the way around before stopping back at his correct position where he began to hoot joyously. He struggled to get out of Reese’s grasp and eventually made his way onto his shoulders, then his head, where he cuddled down into what little hair Reese had as if he was trying to turn it into a nest of some sort. The young man laughed; he was amused with how the small owl was acting. He shook his head slightly, making sure that Owen wouldn’t fall off, then reached his hands up and pulled the bird down and then sat him on his shoulder. The little one shuddered and scooted closer to Reese’s side; huddling next to his ear and cheek to try and keep warm. Smiling, Reese turned his face to the side so that he could see the red eyed bird, then turned back out to face the frigid sea when he spoke: “Okay, what we will be learning, or trying to learn rather, is a move know as Air Slash. It’s got some decent power behind it and I know very well that if we keep it up you will get this down sooner or later. So, we will go ahead and start. What this move requires is for you to slash at the air with your wings, like if you did Flap or Gust (which you’ve had to at least seen) and use the wind that you picked up to throw at the enemy to cause damage. Now, the trick with this is to make it like a blade and not just a random gush of air –but we will focus on that later.” Owen tilted his head to the side, then the other, then hooted –signaling that he understood all of the information that Reese had presented so far. The young man took in a deep breath and then exhaled, watching his painted breath dance out in front of him, when he returned his attention to the owl. “What we need to do,” he began “is get you more accustomed to the feeling up pushing strong amounts of wind, air, whatever, at a target. So, what I want you to do is take flight and begin using variations of Flap to try and push the wind with a heavy force, Focus on your Attack even if you need to. After you’ve gotten used to the feeling of flapping your wings and pushing air, fly up high to where the wind is stronger. From there, I want you to try and intercept the wind with your wings and push it back; it will require a good amount of strength, little buddy, so be sure your wings are ready to take on the challenge before you go up.” ![]() Telepathy Though limping, Reese quickly moved away from where both Owen and Marilyn were tutoring, and came to a desolate spot. He reached his hand into his pocket and brought out his last Pokeball, holding it out before him in his cupped hands, and beckoned the creature sleeping inside of it to come out. In a flash of light the ball burst open and the ghost skidded out across the deck; she flew up and into the wind, down a few flights of stairs, and then she eventually came to her trainer’s side –where she began to giggle. Reese smiled and reached his hand out, as if he wanted to touch her, but watched his hand drift through her tangible body and appear at his side once more. The little ghost swirled around, the stereotypical devious little look on her face, as she began to wander around her trainer’s body –inspecting his clothes and whatnot, since she truly didn’t get to study him earlier. She seemed sweet, but Reese could feel a serious nature lurking within her eyes –perhaps that could help them both with what he wanted her to learn. “Greta,” he said, capturing the ghosts attention, “do you see the others? Marilyn and Owen over yonder? Both of them are being tutored new moves that will help them in battle and, originally, I wanted to teach you something as well. But now, after thinking, I have the feeling that I need you to learn something else before we actually move tutor –because this can truly help us in the future, and it can help me get to understand and know you better. I want to try and teach you Telepathy which, if you don’t know, is when we are able to hear each other’s thoughts. Right now, you can only hear me, but if we succeed this I can hear your own unique voice as well. We have the first step down though; you understand human speech –obviously. So the next step is for you to project your mind into mine –so that I can hear you..do you understand so far?” The once giddy and silly facial expression she wore had long since disappeared, for her eyes were now narrow and serious, with her mouth held at a straight line with her two little teeth poking through her lips. She nodded, kind of, well she more so had to move her body up and down to signal that she understood what the human wanted. And now, thinking over it, she did realize the hidden potential of being able to communicate with her master through her thoughts: she would rule battles and possibly excel at other things. So she nodded, wanting to learn how to do this, despite how hard it may be –it would all be worth it in the ending. “Now,” said Reese again, “there are going to be many steps in learning this, do you understand? Okay, just don’t forget that you cannot get frustrated, because I know this isn’t going to be easy. Now, I know that among your species, ghost types and a few others, that you have an ability called possession. For some odd reason though, it disappears once you are captured by a trainer, so you don’t have it any more. But that isn’t the point, Greta, the point is that you did have it and you know what it feels like to be in the mind of another. I don’t know what you’ve done, whether it be whispering dark and horrid words to your pray or just taking complete and utter control over their body –but you know what I’m talking about, and you have an idea of the feeling. Now, since you can no longer use possession, we have to find a way round it –and I think I have it.” Greta tilted herself to the side, a questioning but curious look on her face. Reese had managed to find a way to piece these odd puzzle pieces together? Well, now that was going to be interesting to hear. "Your move Hypnosis," he said again, once he was sure that Greta was listening once more, “is a move that projects your mind into that of your enemy’s, where you can then began to flood their consciousness with lethargic thoughts and feelings –lulling them to sleep in the end. Now, rather than putting me to sleep, I need you to try and use that power to force your thoughts, like when you would possess others, into my mind. We need to combine these two well to make it work, so first, I want you to begin by thinking about Hypnosis, but I want you to take out any and all lethargic components of it, okay? Then, think back to how you entered another’s mind with possession (hell you could even refer back to Hypnosis if you want) and try to use it on me. If you make me fall asleep for some reason, just hit me awake, but please try to take out as much of the lethargic components as you can before trying. Now, too keep it simple, the only thing I want you to try to project is your thoughts calling out my name..I’ll try to listen as closely as I can…” Greta nodded at this before she floated over closer to where Reese stood, hovering over his shoulder lovingly and looking at him with her beautiful eyes that had begun to glow with the Ghost and Psychic powers that were beginning to build up inside of her. She laughed a little, though her mouth was still flat and unmoving, then she floated out over in front over Reese and gave a good four to five feet between them. Derping... All Day, Every Day!

First off is Marilyn the Vulpix. You wanted to bring out her natural beauty, and how else to do that with the aid of her ability. It was nice to have, but what if a Drowzee came by and used Disable and Ember couldn't be used to help her inner 'glow'? I'm just thinking too much, but here we go. Vulpix allowed the fiery pellets to shower over her, and a faint glow happened about her. It was the normal signal for the ability activating. Her eyes changed slightly to the way you wanted them. Then she moved into place, as how you described. She certainly did look cute, but was she cute to everyone? You can also try to have her try impressing Owen the Hoothoot.
Hoothoot's tutor was definitely more difficult then Vulpix's. Owen immediately went into the air, and started to flap and flock about. It's petit wings would not seem to be much for a move like Gust, but none the less, it did. Using Flap, the wind about the air started to move and zoom throughout the room. When he seemed to think it was enough, he flew into the current that was still there, but barely. Trying to force it back, Owen was nearly blown back himself. He had a sufficient time with the training, but he has a long way to go.
Telepathy was still sort of natural to a Gastly, no matter what. It wasn't an official move, but more of an ability that can be simply learned--quick. Greta focused for nearly two minutes before she mouthed your name. "Reese." You heard the slightest of whispers in your mind. It was so faint that it was so lcuky the lobby-like room had been cleared out and very quiet, or else you may not have heard it. Trying it once more, Gastly's face cringed, but she had gotten the whisper louder.

The Many Faces of Crosse
|
Choppy waves continued to slosh against the bottom of the hull as the boat rocked from back to forth, but it continued onwards to its destination –even if it did cross the sea like a drunken old sailor. Looking around, Reese gripped a hold of the wooden frame that served as the railing, looking down to the black mass below that swirled in multiple blue and purple hues. He gently cast his gaze upwards, to see the sky, dark and unbecoming, as the wind howled above him and scraped her delicate fingers against his face. He turned from the pain, suspecting tear marks to be bleeding across his cheek, but upon wiping himself with the back of his hand all he found was smudges of dirt and soot that always seemed to just cling to his skin. He huffed out loud, expressing his boredom with the trip; he hated ships, he hated being out at sea, hell he hated the idea that he was abandoning his cold, lonely, white winter wonderland and was on his way to an area that was lush and green. What was this blasphemy? Reese scoffed to himself, thinking over what he wanted done, then realized that he should return his attention to his team. He slowly turned around, cautious of his false leg, since it seemed more prone to slipping and giving out when there was no solid and sturdy earth beneath his feet. The young man grimaced at the feeling in his thigh, knowing that if he didn’t make his motions quick that his leg would give out and that he would pretty much face plant into the floor. So, very cautiously, he inched away from the edge of the boat and slowly neared his precious trio –watching from the corner of his eyes how they were attempting to finish up their moves this time around. When Reese had finally managed to gather himself together, he looked out to the two of them, and knew that most of them had succeeded very well in their tutoring progress. Marilyn and Greta had made the most progress; both had skated over the first half of their moves with ease. Little Owen, on the other hand, seemed to be having a little more trouble. Still slightly frowning, Reese nodded at this, then made his way towards Marilyn first..but with Owen still very clear on his mind. ![]() Attract Still wobbly on his feet, Reese scrambled over to where his little girl now sat –her normal sweet and innocent face flustered with the amusement of watching her clumsy trainer constantly trip and fall. Of course, she knew he had a false leg and therefore had less of a sense of balance, but she also knew that Reese rejected any idea of someone else coming to his aid when he was thrown into situations like these; though he was crippled, he didn’t want to be treated like one. So, knowing how Reese would have responded if she tried to help, Vulpix just sat back and watched –giggling silently to herself all the while. Moments later, Reese finally managed to crawl his way over, where he practically flipped over onto his back so that he could stare up to the dead sky overhead. Marilyn, curious, hopped up from her sitting position and jumped onto her trainers chest, inching closer and closer up along his ribcage so that she could see his face. “Hey there..heh” he said when he finally noticed the little fox, “I-I think I’ll lay right here..for a while..” Marilyn raised an eyebrow curiously, wandering what the hell Reese was up to, when she proceeded to take matters into her own hands –her own little childish hands. It was almost as if she was having a semi docile temper tantrum, for she began growling and hopping up and down on Reese’s chest, pressing down on his ribs and bothering the organs which sought shelter within them. Reese made a “ugnn” at each attempt to bring him out of his coma like state, much like that of when a parent tries to force their child out of bed on a school day. Nevertheless though, little Marilyn persisted, and eventually Reese gave into her childish taunting. The fox hopped down off of him and latched her teeth onto his sleeve, which she used like a lever to help pull him up off of the deck so that he would be in a sitting position. Rolling his eyes childishly, Reese pushed himself up, knowing that Marilyn would have not have been able to do it herself; he wanted to prevent any potential future conflicts..because hell he wasn’t in the mood. Yawning, Reese turned his attention back down to the fox, who had once again took the sitting position, but this time now she sat in front of him –staring up at him with her big and curious eyes..almost as if she had forgotten about the temper tantrum completely. Cute. Reese proceeded to shake his head once out of disbelief before sighing, when he finally spoke up and said: “Okay, Attract, yes? You did great the last time, Marilyn, but now we need to take a few steps further. Notice how you used Ember to activate your ability, and how it helped you a lot with bringing out your inner beauty..now that move itself is not necessary –you can draw out your inner beauty in a multitude of ways, and that was merely one. Like say, if for some reason you were prevented from using Ember, you could always just focus on the flames that live on within your stomach and under you skin; fire is a natural part of your being; it is in your every fiber. This time around, do not use Ember, but merely focus on that natural beauty that comes from the warmth that you can generate within you. And if you think about it deeper I think, sweety, the true secret to you bringing out that inner power is not to bring out beauty, but that it brings out your confidence which is beautiful itself. You are adorable, yes, but you are not a weak and pathetic being needing to hide behind others; you are a strong little girl.” Marilyn tilted her head to the side curiously, taking in all of the information that her trainer had presented to her, when a spark seemed to flare in his eyes. He inched closer and held her face between his cupped and frigid hands, then childishly rubbed his nose against hers before speaking up again. “Your body language,” he said, your movements, those also need to be utilized. Flux your tails like I had said before, keep them held high and keep yourself confident, then tilt your head from side to side, as if you are curious about your enemy and appear to be interested in them. That might cause a spark of some kind..” he said, smiling. And with that, he lifted himself up off the ground and moved over to Owen. ![]() Air Slash The little bird, who was hopelessly flopping around in the rough and jagged sea air that scraped across the sky, had been taking a horrible beating from it all. He continued trying, even long after he had been knocked down, and now, looking up to him, Reese could see that another unfortunate blast to the face would cause him to fall out and down from the sky. So, with his adrenaline already pumping from the frigid temperatures, Reese lunged for the small owl with his arms outstretched and his fingers reaching out to touch his warm feathers. He got a hold of the bird, a mere three feet from where he would have fallen into the ground, and then panting, he brought the small bird up to his chest. The little one shivered; oh how hopeless he must have felt! To be battered! To be unable to fight for himself! Oh the poor little one was wallowing in a never ending pool of self misery! And now, cuddled against his trainer, all he could think of was evolving, of becoming a massive being who could take to the skies and handle them with ease..but he would have to become stronger first before that ever happened. Owen sighed, causing Reese to raise an eyebrow curiously. He held out the little one before him, where he studied him as if he was trying to deduct what was causing the little one so much mental distress. A small frown crossed his face; “It’s not your fault..” he said, “you know that don’t you?” The owl looked up to him, his crimson eyes weary and not comprehending what his trainer had said. Reese sighed as he placed a hand on the little one’s head, then spoke softly to him. “You’re strong,” he said, “and you’re only going to get stronger. That last attempt was a failure on my part, I forgot to warn you how strong the wind might be way up high; it was too much for your wings. Oh no no!” he said, when he noticed the little bird began to hate his wings. “They are not your fault, kiddo, you were born with them –you are the way you are, and I just need to find a better way to cope with our situation. Now, hop aboard!” he said, beckoning for the little one to become perched upon his head. Owen easily scaled Reese’s shoulders and made his way onto his head, where he looked up to the black sky with frightful eyes. “Now now,” Reese said, “I’m not sending you out there yet. Oh nononono! I have a different idea that I would like to try, if you don’t mind?” Owen looked down over to his trainer’s forehead to see his eyes, which was when he nodded; he was ready to hear this new plan. “Okay,” said Reese “what I want you to do, is to begin by Focusing on your Attack power while you remain on my head. Try and concentrate your strength to your wings, rather, the joints that move your wings. Keep building up your strength, keep doing it until you feel confident; keyword there: confident! Now, by looking at the winds, I’d say that the current must get faster the higher you go up. So, what I want you to do, is to begin on the lowest level, on the floor; where there is little to no current. Once there, use your mixture of Gust and Flap to help throw the air towards the opposite side of the deck. Once you get that, take flight, and slowly get higher and higher off of the ground and use the same method as you did on the ground. The point of this though isn’t to force you to push the wind back till you break; right now I want to merely see how much of this storm you can handle..then we will move on from there. You can do it, kiddo..” he said before leaving and returning to Greta. ![]() Telepathy Reese had felt something earlier when he had tutored his Gastly, he could feel her presence, creeping up behind his head in the small crevice between his brain and his skull. The feeling was oddly familiar, like a snake caressing your skin with its scaly body, causing the hairs on the back of your neck to rise frightfully. The serpent would continue up his body, till it reached his ear, licking it with its forked tongue as it whispered his name. He could sense this, all of this, he could feel a dark presence lurking all around his body –covering him like an extra layer of skin. His senses were amplified in that very moment as the adrenaline began pumping; the slightest breeze stung his skin, the moon and sea out in front of him glowed in reflective colors, the sounds of the wave were monotone, singled out, the only sound besides the whisper, and the smell of the sea salts in the water stung and clogged his nose. Reese turned his head around to look at Greta, who was smiling slightly; she had gotten the gist of the idea. Now, of course, came the more difficult aspects of this tutor. “Good Greta, good! Now, before we can continue focusing with speech, we need to create a bigger mental connection between the two of us. Project your mind into mine again, possess my mind if you will, and continue to call out my name. Make yourself loud and clear, and if you for some reason can’t seem to make any connection between our two minds try and focus your powers onto a different wavelength; a clearer one. I’ll listen for you, over the waves and over the air that –goddamnit! --it keeps feeling as if the damn air is cutting up my face.” Reese yelled, totally but unintentionally getting himself and Greta off topic. The specter laughed at her trainer; she found his random outburst quite amusing..perhaps that would help coax her entering his mind with a little more force and vigor? Well, it was worth a shot. Reese rubbed his temples, trying to remember what the hell he was going on about before, when it hit him in the face –literally. He snarled, annoyed, but then withheld his anger at the air and returned his focus to Greta. “If it’s possible,” he said, “I want to try and start up a conversation between me and you –to better our communication levels. I realize that we might have words or phrases that do not match up, but like I said, we just need to focus on creating a balanced connection between the two of us so that we can actually communicate!” Greta floated closer to her master, looking at his dull gray eyes with her dead and vacant ones. A smile slipped upon her lips, with her two pointed teeth poking out from under her lips; she laughed. Reese nodded at this and smiled, knowing that she not only understood how serious he wanted to be with this topic, but that she also knew how to enjoy herself as well. He could only hope that little Owen was doing better like his comrades Marilyn and Greta. Reese shook his head from side to side; now was not the time to worry about Owen, he would take care of him later if needed. For now, Greta needed his full and undivided attention, for the two were going to attempt and create a solid method of mental communication between the two of them. Reese smiled as he looked over to Greta, then sighed, knowing that there was only one thing now that he could do. “So, Greta, my dear, can you hear me? Speak up! Let me know you are here, kiddo..” |

Derping... All Day, Every Day!

Your words had reached her, and the ability hard somehow worn off after the time you seemed to doze off a little. It was time to get back to this tutoring, of course, you could go to sleep for a while. It would help make the boat ride seem a little less, and you would be in Millenia in no time. The hike to Nogou would also get to you. Either on the boat or in the Pokemon Center in Millenia, the best bet was to gain some valued sleep sooner or later. Moving on, of course, to the tutoring. Vulpix started to focus, and her fur started to lightly bristle, and looked as if a gentle breeze brushed upon it. More and more, she became cuter and cuter. It seemed to softly fill the room, as if her presence was expanding out. The spotlight, and all the attention was being absorbed. Hell, Owen had his own to tutor, yet he seemed forced to look over a little. Definitely brought the boys in.
Having to peek over to Vulpix, he was lucky he was next and would have something to keep his mind off things. As you made your way to him, he sometimes glanced over his shoulder, just to make sure Marilyn stayed where he was. As he perched on top of your head, you described everything to him. Wow, what an explanation. It fails... just kidding. But Owen moved from your head to the floor several feet away. Slowly, he did what you had told him to do and his altitude began to climb. He was getting higher and higher and dealing with more then breezes and minor gusts. The wind he eventually had circulating around the lobby-like room had began to be very strong and carry Owen a little. Though, through his resistance, you started to see a weird sign. One that fit the description of Air Slash. Against the wind that seemed to go against him, weird, silver-like streams went horizontally through the air. Were those the beginning of the air blades?
Gastly, in logic, didn't have THAT long to go. In fact, you may be able to finish it this round. Telepathy didn't seem extremely hard to the Gastly. She began with calling out for you, through using your name. At first, she mouthed it again, but eventually found she didn't need it. You slowly started to hear her inside of your mind. Of course, it isn't mind reader, but getting to the point where she'll be able to have conversations. How cool is that? Talking to your pokemon in a language even you can understand! In the end of things, Gastly only said "Reese. Reese. I'm here, Reese. How are you?"

![]() Flamethrower Marilyn had perfected her move with the upmost beauty and elegance, and now she would be able to deter her future opponents from attacking her while in battle. She was a little cutie, so of course a move like Attract matched her sweet and innocent personality perfectly, but now as Reese twirled around his ghost Pokemon and made his way over to her, well, let’s just say he had a plan up his sleeve to teach that little one not only to be a pretty face. He remembered studying about Vulpix when he was younger, before he was released from the hospital and allowed to live his life of destined loneliness alone, yes, that was when people actually cared about his well being and not just that fact that he was crippled and taking up a bed. From the notes and books he had read, he learned that Vulpix was one of the few pokemon that learned the move Flamethrower relatively early on in their evolution. Of course, thinking about it now the move was still surely to be a pain in the ass, but he felt like it might be worth it to try it out and maybe get her on the head start for knowing this devastatingly string fire type move. He also had some ideas in mind, which caused him to smile as he walked over closer and closer to the little fox who was sitting down on the deck. “Come here, Marilyn!” he said to the little one as he slowly began to lower himself down and onto the deck so that he could sit. His prosthetic leg creaked and jerked beneath him as he tried to move, causing a great deal of pain and stress to be placed on his right thigh, but it had all since dissipated the moment the pressure was taken off of his leg and he was sitting on the ground. Marilyn hopped over to Reese with her usual eagerness, crawled into his lap, and watched his hands as they fiddled around above her. He was poking and jabbing at his Poketech; he was not the most technical savvy in the bunch, but he was giving this damn Poketech a good of enough try. Soon after fighting it, and image appeared, which he lowered his wrist down so that he could show it to little Marilyn. She studied the picture for a second before looking up to Reese, when she squeaked her name as if she was asking what she was going to do. “Flamethrower,” said Reese as he pulled his arm back and deleted the image from the screen, “we are going to try and get a head start of Flamethrower!” On cue little Marilyn’s ears perked up; she was excited to think that Reese would even take the time to teach her such a beautiful and powerful move! Hell, to her there wasn’t time to waste! She squirmed and then jumped out of Reese’s lap and ran in circles in front of Reese, expressing her happiness, when she abruptly stopped and planted her butt onto the wooden deck. She looked up to Reese with questioning eyes; she was ready to hear what he had to say about this move in particular. “Looks like someone is excited,” he muttered at first, but then allowed as smile to slip upon his face. “Alright,” he began, “what this move is is basically a bigger and badder version of Ember, wouldn’t you agree? This will require a lot of power, but I think a little tyke with as much spirit as you could handle this relatively well don’t you think? Yes I know I know you can do it! So, we will begin by simply having you use Ember on yourself to boost your power and give us a little bit of a head start. Once you’ve done that though sweetheart, I need you to begin by focusing your attack and trying to summon more strength. While you do that though, you need to begin by summoning an Ember attack, but you need to hold it back, understood? Do not release it. Keep the flames a light and alive in your jaws and allow the fire to build; keep trying to use Ember but keep your mouth shut so that the flames do not escape. Then, when you’ve felt like you’ve built up to much fire or cannot control it for much longer, I want you to at once release all of those flames off and over the deck. What you need to do though is try and condense them into a single massive flame like in the picture I showed you; I think you holding back all of those Embers will get rid of their shape and make them more like a steady stream of fire, but it will require a lot of power. Don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t work out okay?" The little fox nodded at her trainers words, a serious look on her face; she wanted to learn this badly. ![]() Air Slash After helping his little Marilyn with her surely “bastard” of a move, Reese quickly made his way over the rickety ship that was swaying back and forth in the frigid waters. Surprisingly this time around he did not fall flat on his face, especially since he kind of made a mad dash towards the end of his short trip to reach the side of the wall on the boat. He threw himself against it, clawing at the plaster with his fingernails, just trying to keep and maintain his balance without looking too much like a fool. Owen, who was watching this from the sky above, quickly made his decent and landed upon his trainers head. The little own gripped and tangled his feet into the lads hair and pulled him with his new found strength from his little wings, causing Reese to unintentionally move away from the wall and be back out in the center of the deck once more; Owen had managed to balance him! Reese was bewildered, he looked up to the owl who was slowly untangling his feet from his hair and began to think of all of the confidence that must have been boosted from his great attempt on his last try. Reese smiled and called up to the owl, thanking him for helping him gain his balance. From what Reese had been able to tell from studying Owen and his progression with this move, he knew that the little one was getting close to being able to form the blades out of the air and that he had pretty much mastered flying up and not only resisting but taking control of the air currents that flowed around him. And of course now was the more difficult part, having him form the blades in his mind and somehow projecting them into the silver lines in the air. Reese clapped his hands together as a way of praise when he spoke up to the bird who was now completely free and untangled from his hair: “Very good Owen, excellent! I think you’ve got that part down, so how about we move onto the next step huh? Alright. Well, what I want you to do first is imagine something for me~” Owen titled his head to the side, wondering what Reese was going to tell him to imagine, and began hooting happily the moment the next sentence escaped his lips: “A crescent moon, on a night when the sky above is clear and the stars overhead are all bright and twinkling. I want you to study the shape of this crescent moon, twist it and turn it in your mind to and from all angles so you could get an idea of what it would look like from other places in the world. Now, what I want you to change focus and think back to those silver strands that were in the air around you. I want you to think of them as that shape.” Owen tilted his head to the side, then the other, then back to the other side, and then had his neck twist in a full rotation which was when he began to hoot again and again happily. He had an understanding of what Reese wanted him to do; make the silver marks look like the crescent moon when the formed in the air around him. Before the owl could get another second to daydream, Reese interrupted with more words that would hopefully help the little bird progress through this process quicker. “When you go back into the air, try and shape them by, maybe, pushing the air around you with your wings and having the air itself shape the silver specs that will appear. Keep trying until you get them into that shape, or maybe even a flat circle like a full moon may work –whatever suits you better. If you manage to get them formed quickly and have them sturdy and ready to go, you need to then figure out how to blast them out at the enemy! It’s quite simple too, considering you were just doing it for the past half hour; you’ll need to flap your wings and control the air and blast them down at the enemy. It will basically be like a Gust or Flap attack but with small silver blades of pure flying energy living within it. Think you can give it a shot?” the bird looked down at him from over his forehead, nodded, then took flight so that Reese could go visit the last one in his party. ![]() Shadow Ball Reese hadn’t the time to speak to Greta before he had ran off and tried to help the other two with their tutors; he had merely only heard her introduce herself and say that she was present. But now, as he rounded the side of the ship and walked alongside the edge, with his hand on the railing, he crept closer and closer to the ghost who was over yonder looking out to the dying sea and the sun that was setting before her. A whisper seemed to ring in Reese’s head, as if numerous voices were mumbling all around him at once, causing one of his eyebrows to raise and reveal a confused and slightly disturbed expression. He shook off the feeling as he got closer to the ghost, which was when he then took up a great breath before expelling his thoughts mentally. He had only greeted her a “hello” with her name and she had seemed to begin to sink down into a tangent of some sort. “Reese is much to improper,” she whispered as she floated around him, her golden eyes scintillating in the freezing sun that was setting overhead, “you will be Manson to me. I won’t have it any other way.” Puzzled and deeply confused, Reese looked up from his shoes to the little ghost who was floating alongside him before begging the question: “Why? I’m your trainer –we shouldn’t have to be force to go through with formalities and other things like that..” The ghost whipped herself around, her noxious fumes dancing around her spherical body in a memorizing way, as she spoke. “Trainer? Hah. Do not flatter yourself my dear Manson –you are but my master, not my trainer.” she said, her voice hissing in Reese’s skull. ”I do not need to be trained; I am very capable of battling and fending for myself without any prior training from you or any other insolent human who may think that we as wild and "feral" are nothing but blank and clean slates. We each have a personality, a body, a purpose, a mind, a spirit..we may be damn well more alive than some of those pathetic excuses for people that I see wandering around this land...” she continued, leaving no room in her rabblement to allow Reese to speak up and present his own side to her argument. "Hold your tongue, Manson, I know you are eager to speak but let me finish.." she said, quite snappishly when Reese merely decided to bring up his own ideas, "you are different. Please do not take anything I have said to offense; you are my master, and I would never dare to bring harm to you." Looking up at her, Reese could feel his eyes becoming heavy for he was growing tired with the whole ordeal..for Greta surely was a one of a kind. Such angst, passion, and oddly enough she seemed to have been educated well in grammar, even before she and Reese had made the link between their minds. She was, without a doubt, brilliant. “And I’m sorry if I made any offense to you,” said Reese through his mind before he decided to abruptly change subject, “But let’s move on for now, alright? I wanted to try and teach you two moves, Shadow Ball and Dream Eater –which would you like to work on first, Greta?” The ghost wandered closer to him, since she tended to float away after she decided to stop and take a breather from each of her miniature tangents. But she always did return and now, right alongside Reese, she allowed her thoughts to project into his own so that the two of them may continue with their conversation. “I took no offense, do not worry. I think though I would like to start with something such as Shadow Ball so that I can have a better move of my own element. Do you mind if that is what we start with..especially since we will need a target for Dream Eater..and the other two are also working..” Reese turned his face around to her, smiling, and nodded. He took a couple of steps back and took in a deep breath, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to withstand more of this mental communication for a while; he was going to have to go vocal. Reese looked around for a second, studying each of the other two on his team who were also working steadily on their moves. His mind though was on Greta constantly; it was so odd to hear her speak, to listen to her personality, to listen to her views and judgments on the world and all of the beings in it. Well, what could he say really? He had asked for it, in a roundabout, non intentional way..but it surely was a consequence of teaching her to speak telepathically to him. He watched her from the corner of his eye, thinking about how he could help coach her through this next move –one that could actually be put to use in a battle. The only move that she had similar to Shadow Ball as of now was Lick, which didn’t seem to help him very much in his mind. Reese grunted, thinking over more and more possibilities, when something seemed to lurk within the shadow of his mind. He reached for the idea with his mind and grasped a hold of it, slowly reeling it in and bringing it into the light so that it may be studied and examined. Smiling, he turned to Greta, and began to speak his mind. “From what I can tell,” he began, “Shadow Ball is simply when you build up enough ghost typed energy and condense it down into a sphere, which you then blast off with your supernatural powers towards the enemy.” He looked around, watching her body and the gasses as they danced around her..maybe he could try and incorporate her being into learning the move –like her shape. Yes that was worth a shot, so he spoke up again after taking another breather and said: “I need you to go back and remember the move Lick. Now, it doesn’t seem like much I know, but you always unintentionally leak some sort of ghost typed energy into that move –but it’s not a lot. What you need to do is to focus on the feeling from that typed energy; not only from the move, but from within yourself as well –because its everywhere! This ghost type energy is the thing that keeps you afloat, what lets us speak together through our minds, what allows you to pass through walls and become intangible when certain Pokemon attack you. Harness that energy and bring it out! Focus it in your center, since you don’t really have a body that I can um point of certain places, and make it grow. Make the power swell inside of you and then use your intangibility to let it leak out before you, have it mingle with the fumes that surround your body. I think because of your gravitational force, from looking at those gasses, that your energy you will bring about will not simply fade away –but it will stick close to you. Once you seem to have that down, I want you to draw all of that power out before you and begin to shape it with your mind –have it resemble your body, a sphere, but whole and filled with all of that energy; do not leave it a mere hollow orb. If you can get that far, Greta, I then want you to practice expelling the orb away from you.” A puzzled look crossed his face; just how was he supposed to explain how the orb was supposed to run away from her side and slam into the enemy with a great deal of force. Reese grunted and began to think, leaving Greta on a cliffhanger for a moment, just trying to figure out a way that he could put these two puzzle pieces together. That was when an idea came to mind; she had the move Ice Punch in her arsenal –perhaps that could help! He smiled, a new sense inside of him, and spoke: “Try two different ways to push the orb off. The first will be by trying to reel it back in with your mental powers so that it will gain power and speed, and then when you think the time is right try to push it with your mind out over the sea. Once that is done, create the orb again, and this time I want you to try and pull the orb back, but use the force that you use when using the move Ice Punch to propel the ball. It might work, so let’ give it a shot alright?” Greta looked at him, her eyes sweet but serious, then nodded once in his direction without a word. |

Derping... All Day, Every Day!

Flamethrower, a move that I haven't seen been tutored. If it has, not really seen it. Either way, it'll be an awesome move to have and really make Marilyn strong. Of course you knew this, on account you were tutoring her it. Well, as he used Ember on herself, the faint glow of her fur appeared and the fire attacks would be stronger. Luckily, she can always buff this move up in battles. Vulpix started to charge up her Embers, but closed her mouth quickly. As few flames escaped, and licked her lips, she found her cheeks swelling up like a Squirrel who gathered many acorns and nuts for the time being. It was soon that the power became too much for her. She released the flames, and at first it was as if a buff of flames streamed out, but it soon became Ember. She needs to learn how to hold it longer, make it more powerful, and learn how to shoot it without necessarily sitting and holding the Embers. Flamethrower ~ 25% Owen definitely had a better image set in his mind this round. Crescent Moon, huh? Owen was like an owl, well, he is an owl, but you know what I mean. He technically isn't an owl.... oh, forget it. Either way, he was of the night so he damn well knew what you meant. He got up in the air, and starting doing everything all over again. The wind didn't start out like how it did previously, with the silver strands being absent. What is wrong? Did Hoothoot not intentional get the silver strands!? After flapping harder, and harder, a burst of determination flowed through to the surface, and Hoothoot had built the blades of wind perfectly, and kept them flowing for a time. They were very straight, as in on a path. But when Hoothoot looked around, he found a spot that he tried to focus on. Finally, he finished Air Slash. Air Slash ~ 100% Greta seems like a hardass, and definitely seemed to give you competition for your role. Either way, Greta knew that deep down you ran the show now, and calling you master sounds weird. But no matter. You had her start off with Shadow Ball, instead of Dream Eater. Thankfully too. Swelling up a little, Greta was hard at work on focusing on her ghostly energy. As much as I'd say "WHO CAN YOU CALL? GHOST BUSTERS!" I simply am going to refrain from being serious. Although, some way, they may be able to help? No matter what foolishness I speak, Greta is in front of you and a strange and ghostly aura about her. Slowly, but very surely, a sphere started to grow and it seemed to be feeding on the energy she had materialized from invisible to visible. Gathering as much as she could, she made the sphere just a little smaller. It was time to work on how to fire it, and she only needed the first option. Had gathered the power, she could semi-control it. Wasn't like using telekinesis to control where the move would go, but she could allow it to suck towards her, and then she pushed it mentally. With Telepathy, her mental powers had grown so much greater. Shadow Ball was already nearly complete. What a great detailed part! Shadow Ball ~ 80%

![]() Flamethrower “Great, great, great great!” laughed Reese as he tried t run out over towards the little fox. The small creature twisted her head up an around and the site of her trainer, wobbling along the deck of the ship as he tried to near her in order to explain what she would have needed to work on with this next round of tutoring. She titled her head to the side curiously, smiled, then yipped as she darted over to her trainer’s side and collided into his legs. She wobbled between his legs like a child, like a goof, trying purposely to trip her trainer up so that he would fall and that she would be able to topple him and embrace him with her warm love. She continued to limp as Reese danced around her, trying desperately to not keep herself from falling flat on his face onto the wooden floor below him. Running about, he eventually threw himself at the railing that overlooked the sea, using its cold iron bar as support to keep little Marilyn from tripping him up even further. The moment he managed to get a firm grasp on the bar, he sighed, and turned around slowly so that he could glare and frown at the little tyke who was giggling about behind him. Reese pouted his lips out at the fox as she continued to laugh. Rolling his eyes, he turned himself around and eventually came to where he was now facing the little one face on. He rolled his eyes once more before taking in a deep breath; now wasn’t the right time to be wasting the time that could be used to finish up the little ones tutoring. So he decided, was that he needed to stop beating around the bush and get strait down to business. He lowered his voice, making him seem and appear more serious, as he spoke up and explained his next set of instructions to his sweet little fox. “You did good Marilyn, but we need more power, much more power in order to get this down alright. Now, what I want you to do right now is to begin once again by using Ember on yourself to give you an extra boost.” The little one twisted her head up, looking at Reese with curious eyes. “Now, what I’m going to do is pick you up, once I am done finishing with the others. Then, together, the two of us are going to lean out over the edge of the boat and I want you to attempt and fire a Flamethrower attack at the ocean. I’m going to keep a hold of you, a good firm hold, and then I want you to keep trying to fire the attack again and again and again until the ocean begins to steam where you are aiming at. You need to try and concentrate it on the water, preferable a place covered in ice so we can have something more to melt through, and build up the power and strength of you attack. Also, Marilyn, try to condense it into one single flame like in the photo I had showed you earlier; one condensed and wickedly small line of fire that will devastate your enemies!” Marilyn yipped happily, backing away from Reese so that he could move onto the others and help them before the two of them could work together on this move. ![]() Confusion After having dealt with little Marilyn, Reese was eager to hunt down the little owl who had joined his small team not so long ago. The small creature, who had just completed his first set of move tutoring, was sitting upon the edge of the roof on the small structure which held the rooms on the ship. His little round body was held in tight, his bright crimson eyes looking up to the waning moon that was cloaked with the misty clouds which looked out over the ice and snow. He tilted his body to the side, causing his head to curiously tilt from one side, then the other, as he hopped between his feet; relieving stress from one small ankle and placing it then on the other. He hooted one, twice, three times as he gazed out to the scenery that lived on out before him; he seemed saddened that he had to leave such a beautiful place, even despite all of the horrors he had to face. This wasn’t even his native region, he species didn’t like the cold, but still he could feel his little heart ache as they slipped farther and farther away from the cold..perhaps he missed his original trainer? Or perhaps he had taken on some of his trainer’s traits early on? Reese stumbled around on the deck, gripping his frigid fingers against the side of the wall as he tried to support himself up, as slowly ever so slowly did he scooted along the wall so that he could near closer to little Owen. The owl perked his head up at the odd sounds that were echoing below him; just what was going on? Suddenly, Reese’s frigid fingers crept over the edge and began to feel around the roof for little Owen. The bird hooted joyfully at the site of this; how odd it was to see Reese acting this way? The bird continued to hoot again and again as he slowly inched closer to his trainers frigid fingers, laughing all the way at how his trainer was grasping at the air frantically at the air just to feel his soft warm and feathery body. Eventually his frigid fingers wrapped around his warm legs, causing his arm to relax gratefully, as the bird wiggled free of his grasp and hopped down off of his ledge and down onto his trainers head. Looking up, Reese could barely see the little one over his forehead, gazing down at him with his deep red but beautiful crimson eyes. Reese laughed at this, lifting his arms up and picking the little one up off of his head and brought him down and into his cradled arms. “You did great, you know that?” he said, holding the little owl in close. “But now I want you to try out something else, mmkay?” The owl twisted his head around to look up at his master, curious as to what he wanted him to do, but with a beautiful glow of anticipation was beaming in his eyes. He was curious; he wanted to know more about what his trainer had planned for him, so he didn’t hold back numerous hoots of joy; oh he was so happy! Owen wiggled about in Reese’s arms, signaling to him that he was ready to intake the information that would be needed for him to learn this new move. “Alright, alright..settle down.” he said, better situating the little one in his arms. “Now, what I’m going to teach you this time around is a move called Confusion –which is a great move that will be seriously beneficial to your arsenal. You are of a rare species, Owen; you are one of the few flying types that learn psychic based attacks naturally, and we will put forth all of the effort so that you master each and every one of them. The first one on the list is Hypnosis, the second being Confusion, but I want to try and move ahead to the second since you will be learning the first after a few goods battles.” The little owl looked around and about for a moment, then nodded, allowing Reese to continue once more. “Now, to begin I want you to search deep within yourself; I want you to try and find out that inner psychic power that lurks inside of you. Try to draw it out with your mind; close your eyes and try to build up the pressure in your skull, until it becomes unbearable! Then, open your eyes, and allow the psychic powers to escape from them and fire off towards your enemy. Now, you’ve seen the move Psychic and others like it, hell, you’ve sort of felt the effects of Hypnosis when the other wild Gastly’s tried it on you. “ The Hoothoot tilted his head to the side, gazing up at his trainer with curious eyes; Hypnosis? How was that supposed to help? Since the move didn’t actually work? He was confused, seriously, which was plain on his face. Reese sighed out loud before smiling, when he opened his mouth and relayed his hypothesis to the little bird. “You see,” he said, “I know you were unaffected by that move because of your ability, but surely, surely, you still felt some sense of drowsiness? I’ve had moments of insomnia before, but still, despite the fact that I can’t sleep, I still feel tired. Try to locate those feelings, for the were brought out by the psychic aspects of that attack, and then try to contain and amplify them like how I had mentioned before. If you happen to do very well, which, don’t get upset if you don’t, then I want you to try projecting that power out and into the air before you –before I actually find you a target to use on it. Give it a shot, again and again; keep trying till I manage to make my way back to you, alright?” ![]() Shadow Ball It didn’t take long; no, it didn’t take long at all for Greta to begin and comprehend what her master had just told her. Her instructions, thus far, had been relatively simple; strait to the point; with no loop holes or curves that could have thrown her off and seriously disrupted the natural balance of how easy it seemed for her to learn this move. She had done well, Reese knew that as he watched her from the corner of his eye after he began instructing the others about what they were to do now. A small, but fascinated, smile crept up onto his pale face as he approached the specter, walking around her and inspecting her small floating body as she tried to ignore him and concentrate on creating another magnificent orb that would soon be warped into a miraculous attack. The young man’s smile widened as he continued to watch; seeing how natural it was for her to summon that massive blob of pure ghostly energy was simply awe inspiring, and he couldn’t help but allow a few teeth to poke through his smile as he saw small black bolts of lightning dance around inside of the lustrous orb. Power wise and apparel wise, it was perfect. She had managed to not only create a perfect sphere of energy on the first try, but she had also managed to fill it with enough power so that it could actually been thought of as some sort of attack. The small lightning bolts, like previously mentioned, danced around inside of the foggy orb, lighting up different sections of it sporadically. When looking at it from a distance, Reese had discovered, that the orb seemed to be dense; as if it was filled with massive amount of ghostly energy. But when he had approached Greta to better examine it, he realized that the outside layer of the orb was the main thing coated with this energy, aiding in its appearance, while the orb itself seemed to have a tangible and hollow property to it –much like that of a ghost itself. But it was powerful; the storm raging in side of it was enough to deduct a conclusion such as that, now Reese just needed to help out Greta with actually propelling the orb across and away from her so that it may impact the enemy and do great damage. She managed to use her telekinesis to bring the orb in close to her, which she then allowed to build momentum before firing off into space –though to places she didn’t necessarily control. Reese needed to find a way to help her control it; she needed better aim. Reese limped over to her side, his false leg wobbly on the floating ship, nearly falling flat on his face twice before he actually reached her. Luckily, she had ignored him, knowing that it would have been an embarrassment if she had seen him fall and made notice of it; she wouldn’t cause him any mental distress if she could help it. Though now, thinking, she did ponder just how did he get that faulty leg? Her mind began to drift, but was brought back by Reese, or in this case, Manson, who said her name aloud. The ghost turned, smiled softly, then blanked her mind so that she could receive her next instructions for this move tutor; though she did find it odd how Manson was no longer speaking to her through his mind. “Greta, that was perfect!” he began, wiping his hand through the purple mist that swirled around her body as if he was trying to touch her, “All we need to do now though, it get our aim and accuracy down. Now, last time you used your telekinesis to real the ball in towards you, yes? Well, give it another shot, and this time I want you to continue forcing power to flow into it while you hold it back; to give it more power and, “oomph”, when you fire it off. Then, before releasing it, I want you to take your aim at the side of the boat, right here for instance. Keep the ball held back and then release it and try to force it towards the wall with a mighty blast of energy; push it along with an Ice Punch if you need to! Then, once you get that down, I want you to spin about until you find another target; this time a random one. Once you’ve set your sites go through the process again: reel in, build power, aim, more power, and fire! Keep this process up for a bit, okay? We need to get you used to moving around and aiming so that you can hit your target, since they always won’t be standing still for you to go at..” |

Rebuild the World in Ice

The Ocean! Well, this is rather interesting. Hold a Pokemon over a ledge and above the ocean surely couldn't make them happy, especially if it was a fire type. But for some reason, Marilyn was completely fine with it! She quickly used Ember on herself again and then you picked her up and carried her to the edge Flamethrower: 76% Confusion, another simple move that shouldn't be too hard to teach. After all, he was ganna learn the move in a few more levels anyways. Owen focused on the psychic energy inside of him and began to draw it up and into his cranial area, slightly giving him a headache. He then tried to project the move outside of him, but it didn't really work. It was more of a little stare that he did. Maybe if he had something to actually use it on, he'd have more luck. Maybe a snail or something. Confusion: 15% Ah, Shadow Ball, a rather easy move for Ghost types to learn and is rather powerful. Greta already had most of the move down, she just needed a small amount of power behind it. She formed the ball again and released it just like before at the boat's railing, almost hitting you and Marilyn. The attack was a little bit stronger but it just needed a bit more. She turned around, looked up at a random spot in the sky and launched another one. This one looked much more stronger and accidently hit a seagull! No, not Wingull, seagull! The small bird fell into the water and a rather large Tentacrewl emerged from the water, taking the seagull underneath, obviously for food. Well, yet another animal murdered. Way to go Reese! Anyways, Shadow Ball Complete! Shadow Ball: 100%
Note: The turtle isn't really important. I just thought I'd throw it in to make it a little more interestin. Also, pray the PETA doesn't come after you... |

The Many Faces of Crosse

![]() Flamethrower The small fox, gently but firmly cradled in her trainers arms against his chest, pushed himself out over the edge of the boat so that the little one could get a better view of the gushing waters below them. The cold hard railing dug deep into Reese’s lower abdomen, right above his pelvis where his belly button would be. He would grimace at the pain, for it was like there was someone stabbing him in the gut with a cold, frozen, dulled blade; it was actually quite odd to think about: a blade whose tip was smoothed and rounded out so that actually breaking through the skin was pretty much impossible. He slowly shook his head from side to side, trying to clear his thoughts, as he tried to force the dull pain to leave his mind. Opening his eyes, he tried to refocus his concentration on little Marilyn, though somewhat disturbed at the whole ordeal, seemed confident with Reese from the outside; best better not let her down, huh? So, slightly smiling, he pushed off the pain and put his total focus on the fox, knowing that things would get ugly if he took his attention off of the little girl for any longer. From watching everything she had done, Reese couldn’t be any more pleased than what he already was. The little girl had mastered the formation and appearance of the attack, thanks to the pictures he had shown her before, and now what he needed to help her with was powering up her attack even more so that it would be perfect. Placing little Marilyn back onto the deck, with all her four paws firmly planted on the oak deck, he then turned to the Poketech that clung to his wrist. He began to poke and prod at it with his index finger, which had gone numb long ago due to the frigid weather. He had an idea how he could help explain to Marilyn how she could put more power behind her move, but her thought that perhaps it would be best to throw out a wide variety of information to see which formation suited the little one best. He finally managed to find three images which could possibly help her and then, turning to her and slowly sitting down onto the deck besides her, he called her over and allowed her to jump into his lap, just so that she could get a good view of her trainers Poketech. Marilyn lifted her front paws onto Reese’s forearm, using it to prop himself up, and she snaked her head around and began to yip happily at the images that appeared on the screen. “You see here?” he asked, just making sure that his little one was listening. “You’ve managed to get the formation and style of the move down perfectly, so, we’ve got one of the biggest aspects of this move down. Now all we need to do is to focus on you building up your power, so that this attack of yours could reach its full potential. The first step, much like before, is for you to build up the flames in your mouth. Activate your ability to build up power, and then, force it into your cheeks like how you had done before –remember when they puffed out because you had so much? Yes, that’s what we are first aiming for. Once your mouth is full, slowly, slowly, part your jaws and allow the flames to build up, but try to restrain it so that it looks like so!” he said, motioning to the first photo on the small watch. The Vulpix tilted her head to the side as she studied the photo, yipped in response, then perked her ears up and returned her attention to Reese who was beginning to look through his pages for the other two pictures that he wanted to show her. “Once you’ve built up the flames a little in your mouth, I want you to force more and more power into them, but try to hold it back; allow the power to grow without actually firing the attack. Look here; see how he is building up the power but holding it back at the same time? Yeah, that’s what you need to try to do..it might even help if you try to keep the flames into a spherical shape like the Infernape managed to do –so you’ll give that a shot. Once you’ve built up the power though, I want you to release all of the fire at once in that steady stream; have the power concentrated and firm like how this Houndoom is doing while he fires, okay? Now, once I get back I’m going to hold you out over the water so that you can test out your power again; try and make the water steam; melt all of the ice; make as much of an impression on the sea with your attack as you can. Now, I’ll be right back..” ![]() Confusion Next on Reese’s list was Owen, the little owl who had proved his worth by learning quite an impressive move just seconds ago. But, much like Greta, he was young, and therefore Reese found it more practical to level the playing field by teaching these two more moves to their small arsenal of attacks. Owen had just mastered a move that complimented his flying nature, so, now seemed like it would be best to teach him a move whose nature would frequent his species quite often in the future..not only that, but Reese seemed to have a deep sensitive side for psychological attacks. Long before he had even gotten onto the boat had he planned to teach the little one this move, Confusion, so he would be able to have a higher advantage in life. Smiling, Reese quickly walked along the boat towards the little one who was waiting around for him, his big round eyes curious and waiting. As he approached, the little one began hopping around eagerly, ready to climb onto his trainers shoulders so that he could receive further instruction on this attack. Hastily, Reese lifted him up from the wooden floor and placed him onto his shoulder, laughing gently as the little one rubbed his cold body against the side of his face. The moment a warm feeling began to settle over the owl, he relaxed, allowing Reese to begin his mentoring of this move once again. “Alright!” began Reese, turning his head slightly so that he could see the owl face to face, “Now what I need you to do is to think back to what happened during your last attempt. Remember that headache? Yes, that is what I want you to aim for this time around; think of the confusion, the pain, the frustration you felt when that psychic power began to flood through your mind at tear at your brain. Those sensations, those feelings, as what you need to project out and over towards your enemies; you need to make them to feel the pain that you felt, and to do that you need to force that energy out to your enemy. Now, what you did last time was merely stare at the wall or something, but now what I want you to do is to concentrate on the pain that was pulsating behind your eye sockets; you need to release the energy from your eyes, and therefore you need to focus on that part of your body more than the others, understood? Alright, now, once Marilyn is finished with her next attempt of Flamethrower I’m going to bring her over to you so that you can use her for a target; don’t worry, she knows what she’ll be in for so don’t hold back. But until then I want you to practice harnessing that inner psychic power of yours and bringing on that headache, refocusing the pain to your eyes, and then trying to push out the pain away from you.” The owl hooted happily once before Reese snaked his arms up to his shoulder, grabbing a hold of the small bird and bringing him down onto the ground. After a simple pet on the head and a whisper of luck, he forced himself up and began to search around for Greta. Just where had she gone off to? ![]() Sludge Bomb “I was born with the beauty of Ice Punch, I’ve mastered the art of Telepathy, and now I have pulled myself up into the ranks of pure strength and power by mastering this: Shadow Ball! Oh is there nothing I can’t do?” cackled Greta as she appeared behind Reese; her body having slowly faded into sight. Reese slowly turned his head around to her, looking at her with a plain and rather unamused face, as she continued to laugh and cackle at all of the accomplishments she had made in such a short span of her life. “What is next, Manson? Will I suck every last life essence from their bodies with Nightmare, or something utterly devastating like Psychic? Please! Enlighten me! Tell me what I’ll learn now as we continue to wait around on the rickety little boat; this little boat that we trust so much to bring us to this new land; hope it doesn’t sink.” she said, her voice beginning to chatter from the cold that still seemed to be effecting her body, causing an adrenaline surge to pass through her body. Rees laughed out loud, quite amused by the hysteria that seemed to be setting into her body due to the cold climate; oh how thankful he was that he was accustomed to this type of weather, because if he wasn’t they would have never gotten anything done on this rickety little ship, as Greta called it. “I hate to disappoint,” his mind laughed, “but neither of those are what I had planned for you to learn this time around. I was actually wanting you to work on Sludge Bomb, another attack that corresponds to your typing; ghost and poison.” Greta remained silent for a few moments, as if she was trying to rethink everything that Reese had just said. A look of concern crossed Reese’s face, for she hadn’t responded; was she disappointed that she wasn’t going to learn another move that had more power, one that would indeed be more difficult to master? He hadn’t the slightest idea what was wrong with her until a spark lit within her eyes and her canines poked out from her mouth, as he mental voice hissed: “Sludge Bomb? You want me to learn Sludge Bomb? That vile move! I cannot even begin to comprehend even wanting to learn something like that –oh how disgusting it must have be! Sludge? Disgusting! How horrible! No! Nononononono! I will not you hear me I will not learn something that vile!” At that very moment, Reese slapped himself across the face, a sign of annoyance and displeasure. Rubbing his eyes, he then tried to break through to Greta and try to explain to her that it was natural for her to have sludge, considering her typing at all. Their stubborn argument lasted for approximately five minutes, which was when Greta, though still as hardheaded as ever, decided to give in, thinking she might as well learn it. “The quicker we finish this tutoring the quicker you can be done with this, alright? For now, just listen up to what I have to say; I have an odd throbbing in my head so I’m going to break off our telepathic contact for a little while.” Though just as annoyed as Reese, but obviously for different reasons, Greta nodded her head to show to her master that she understood what he had just told her. Greta floated around Reese, studying him as he tried to push off his the irritating soreness that was overcoming his mind; oh how Telepathy hurt! Thinking about the thoughts now, he understood that it would take a lot of practice before he could truly master this art without any painful side effects that always seemed to be brought on by such a gift. Looking up now, eyes dark with pain, Reese smiled at Greta who was continuously circling him out of curiosity. “Okay, okay, let’s get this over with. Now, like I said before, you are made up of poisoned typed energy –much like that of how you are made up of ghost typed energy. You already know how to summon your inner energy, how to excrete it, and how to form and morph it into something different. Rather than bringing out ghost energy, you’ll be bringing out your poisoned typed energy this time around, okay? So, what I’ve discovered is that most of your poisoned attributes is contained within those gaseous fumes that continuously circulate around your body. I need you to focus on that gas, focus on its stench and the feeling of it as is crosses over your body. Now, rather than excreting more poisonous power out of your body, I want you to try and absorb this. Suck the gasses inward with a calm and steady motion, as if you were simply breathing or something similar to that. If you can manage to get that down, well, then it’s time for the next step: focusing those gasses into your mouth and trying to convert them from a gas to liquid. The quicker you build this up, Greta, the quicker we can be done; don’t forget that. So, for now just suck in all of that poisoned typed energy and begin to concentrate it; let it sour. Then build it up in your mouth, (kind of like how Marilyn is doing over yonder) and then commence the attack! So far so good?” Rolling her eyes, Greta nodded, showing that despite the fact that she didn’t want to do this, she was still going to give it her all until she mastered it. |

Golderia ...Docks Your mania of pictures only fueled progression. Grasping what the pictures displayed, Vulpix had the idea of sheltering it around her mouth and firing it. She was about to perform it when something happened. The ship seemed to shake. At first, people around dismissed it. However, I don't know if you should. Either way, getting back to it, Vulpix fired off a stream of fire that seemed to be powerful, maybe accidental, but nonetheless, Flamethrower. Flamethrower ~ Learned! Marilyn the Vulpix was basically done, and the Flamethrower had surprised even some people who have been wide awake for some time. However, her new purpose was helping Owen the Hoothoot. Bringing her over, Owen grimaced at fighting an ally. However, you exclaimed she knew what she was getting herself into. Starting the psychic energy, Owen had a strange energy burst through the air, attacking Vulpix. The fox pokemon rose about two feet off the ground, and started to yelp, but it wasn't much. The chaos either wasn't enough, or Marilyn was just a tough ass. I'd go with the former, and try again. Confusion ~ 30% Greta's distaste for Sludge Bomb is funny, yet saddening (being a poison trainer, well, my starter!). Nonetheless, she was about to try. Closing her eyes, she prepared the gases; absorbing them inward as you commanded. Next, she started to inhale them, or seem too. The gases mixed in her mouth and formed a slight spherical shape. However, it was a rough shape, and soon had dispersed. You'd need to focus on how to make it solid, too. Sludge Bomb ~ 10% After the tutor session seemed to slow down for you, the ship violently shook once more. Te people around started to panic more then before, having the shake be way more aggressive. Just then, the workers came out, and ordered everyone be in the lobby. That meant you. As a guy beckoned for you, and nearly came after you just to go to the center. Finally, the boat started to have minor shakes, until... WOOM! The ship rocked very hard, sending a man flying into a wall, a table to flip onto a couple, and even a light from the ceiling come crashing just feet away from you. "Due to this..." The man started to speak. His voice seemed to be all over with the echo and with the panic. You finally caught a glimpse of the man who was speaking, a worker. But just then, the lights started to flicker, and a weird sensation filled the air. "Ok, I'm going to spit it out!" The man covered his head with his hands, looking entirely scared. "The captain seen a ship; a ghost ship. Records say the one he seen disappeared a long time ago. Because of the shaking of the boat, though, we're stopping where we can. I think it is Golderia. Sorry for any inconvenience." After a few more shakes, and a few more minutes, the boat stopped and the doors opened. You know the flood of people poured out, trying to save themselves. After things slightly died down, you were approached by the worker. "Anyone getting on after the wait will get a free ride to Millenia from here, so no worries about another pay or anything." With that, the man ran off. You now are in Golderia, and have three posts before the boat is ready.

The Many Faces of Crosse
|
Walking along the docks, Reese pulled out the two of the three Pokeballs which he had tucked away into his pockets just moments ago. He now leant against the old wooden railing that lined the sides of the dock, as the frigid waters swirled around beneath his feet, creatures big and small popping up occasionally from the darkness to inspect the newcomers that had arrived on their land. He turned his head to the side slightly, just so that he could see the city over his shoulder; he had gotten off course, and now, he was waiting for the crew members of the ship to settle themselves down so that he could return to his business of heading towards Nogou. Sighing, he tossed the two Pokeballs over his shoulders so that their contents would be released, tucked them away and then cupped his head in his hands. It didn’t take long for the two to realize something was up; it was too early to be at where they were destined to go, what was going on? –they would wonder. Owen, the little owl with a great sense of curiosity, ruffled his feathers, getting used to the slightly warmer climate, before he hopped onto the railing besides his trainer, while Greta just floated her way over to her master immediately. The two of them hadn’t seen the ship; they didn’t know. Hell, only Reese caught a glimpse of it as it swished through the low fog several yards away, like an ominous beacon beckoning you to follow with its ghostly light. The captain told him it was a ghost ship (as if he couldn’t have guessed for himself) and now they were stuck in Golderia, waiting for the crew to stabilize their panicked minds so that they wouldn’t kill everybody on board. Sighing, Reese turned his head to one of his allies, then the other, then back down to the water: what was he going to do with all of this spare time he had? Sure, it wasn’t a lot of time; he couldn’t go prancing around the city like a petty tourist, but he couldn’t just sit on his ass and wait around either. Decisions, decisions; he still had a good two hour or so trip on the boat again! Would he waste his time by continuing with tutoring? Or maybe look for a trainer? He sighed, knowing that the moment he released his two that his mind had been made; time to finish what they had started. ![]() Confusion Owen was doing good; he was progressing at quite a fine rate. Nodding, Reese lifted up his arm so that it was out horizontally before him, allowing the owl to perch upon his fore arm as he walked away from the old wooden railing –leaving Greta for the moment to stare off into the sea. Walking a little ways over with him, Reese began to explain how he felt that this needed to go; he didn’t want it to sound like he was putting too much on the little bird at once, but he didn’t want it to seem as if he was purposely taking it slow for him –Owen wouldn’t like that, especially since Reese’s pace with Marilyn was always faster than that with his other two. Nodding, the bird knew that he was in for a good deal of information; he wasn’t about to let Reese down, not now, even though he still hadn’t the slightest clue where in gods name they were. “Alright,” said Reese, looking over towards the bird. “I think now is the time for me to bring in chaos to our story. First, recall everything I said: focusing your inner psychic energy in your mind and releasing it through your eyes. Now, think of chaos, think of when we boarded that ghost ship long ago, when we met Greta. Remember the fear that we all felt when the windows burst open, when the cold began to seep in as the blizzard raged outside –we could have died, you know that.” The little birds eyes lowered; he knew what his trainer was talking about, and he hated the way that he had felt that day. It was almost as if he couldn’t do anything to stop the fight, seeing as how he was weak against the ghosts and unable to attack them, unable to stop them, unable to protect his old trainer and his new friends. With a sudden burst of confidence and feeling to bring his self esteem back to its former glory, he puffed his chest out and hooted with confidence. Reese laughed. “I’m glad to see you in a good mood!” he said, petting the bird with his cold hand, “But now what I want you to do is to think about the opposite; pretend that you were Greta in that situation. Pretend you are her; you want to see your opponents afraid, make them fear you, show them death floats before their very eyes. Take those feelings, those thoughts, and warp them and twist them into something horrible; think about your opponent losing their trainer to a fire, and not being able to help; or anything similar. You then need to force that energy, along with the psychic power you demonstrated before, to corrupt the minds of your enemies. I’m going to release Marilyn for you to practice on her again; don’t hold back, she can take it. Oh and also,” he said, “try and lift her higher off of the ground; keep her high up and torment her with those dark thoughts.” ![]() Sludge Bomb Greta was seeming to have a hard time with starting this move, so Reese made sure that he would spend plenty of time with her so that she could master it, and he also made sure that he tried breaking off any telepathic connection between the two of them before he got started. He quickly made his way over to the ghost after having dealt with Owen, his feet clobbering along the wooden docks below him, a plank shrieking out in pain every now and then, which would catch him off guard and slightly startle him; he would turn around, defensive, only to see nothing was there. Exhaling, he rolled his eyes and continued over to Greta, who was watching the waters dance around below her. “Greta,” he said, calling out to her, “come here! Let’s get back to work and then maybe once we board the ship again I can find you a battle.” The ghost, sensing the telepathic communication being broken, didn’t put up a fight and quickly slipped her way over to her master, where she began to watch him eagerly as he tried to explain how she needed to make this work out in a better way than how it had before. “Alright,” he said, “from the beginning. I need you to focus on that gas, focus on its stench and the feeling of it as is crosses over your body, and keep a good eye on it two. Keep focusing on it Greta, allow it to build up in intensity before you suck it in towards your body like you did last time (which was perfect by the way). Rather than pulling in the noxious gasses when you feel them, wait until you feel the pressure of the gasses pressing against your body; focus on drawing out that power more and more until you’ve got it like another layer of skin over your body –then pull it into a sphere. You had the positioning of it done well, very well in fact; we just need to practice turning it into a solid, for right now you have it formed as a gas. Here, I want you to look at this, see how the Muk manages to not only turn it into a sludgy solid, but how he had multiple small spheres being blasted off at the target as well? That is what we need to achieve. Now, try again, and keep in mind everything I have said this time around. If you think you’re getting the hang of it, try firing down into the water, alright?” Greta nodded in response~ |
