Derping... All Day, Every Day!
It is time, finally, to start again. I mean, start now... in Alternia. I'm going to get straight to the point. Clearly, we see you're an alt. You know who I am, and what I can do. Don't make me kill you!! Just kidding, you couldn't do that. Anyway, it isn't about me, it's about Reese Manson. The boy, basically, escaped from life back where he was and now has found his way to Shimo City. Well, it certainly is cold up here. Can Reese handle it? Wait, can the poor Vulpix named Marilyn handle such a temperature. Shimo City, the establishment of Byayuki Island. The entire island seemed to be covered in Winter's coat. Great; just want you need.

You were, or at least where I put you, outside the Pokemon Center. The boats had found their way here, doing their job. Now it was your secret duty to move on in life and work, and live, and do many wonderful things. Like make SNOW ANGELS! Alright, I'll try and be more serious. Pokemon Center, right next to you, is for healing. You can always ask Nurse Joy for something to do, and I'm sure that I the nice Nurse can give you just want you need to keep busy. In fact, I think I hear her calling.

"Someone! Someone! Please, come quick!" A woman's voice was yelling from inside. The door that was right there, and the only known entrance to you, was blocked by a pile of snow, that still continued to stack upon itself. The Nurse had rushed to a window, and spotted you. "Sir! Sir! I need you to go and save my friend. She went to the docks, and well, there is a blizzard warning and she hasn't come back. I'm worried; she's been gone for a few hours!" Time to move, or was it time to forget about saving the day?

I'm evil. And... plot ideas raging, yes? Go!

The Many Faces of Crosse
The snow crunched underneath his heavy boots and the icy wind wailed as it slashed at his frail skin of his face. He pressed on, arms hugged across his chest and head bowed with his head bowed so that his chin rested on his chest. The wind continued to swipe at him as he continued to trek through the snow, but the closer and closer he neared the small town of Shimo he could feel the storms ferocity dying down. He lifted his head up slightly, just so that he could see a few feet out in front of him as he walked. A pair of leather goggles clung to his face, blocking out the small spatters of snow from blocking his sight. He grunted as he stepped down into a thick lump of snow with his right leg, knowing that it would be a pain to get out. He fought with the snow for a while, trying to kick his mechanical leg out of the snow. “L-let go of me!” he grumbled as he tried to force his way out of the white quicksand.

He lifted his normal leg up and tried to use it to help force himself forwards, trying to gain some leverage, or anything that could possibly get him out of this mess. He shouted, annoyed, then unfolded his arms and reached down to grab a hold of his metallic leg. He gripped a hold of it and pulled: one, two, and oh holly hell. Reese didn’t even realize that he was going for a face plant in the snow, but he did so, and looked up to a dreary sky with aching muscles and snow stuffed in his mouth. He spat it out onto the ground, the frigid mesh had caused an odd and painfully pulsing sensation to run ramped throughout his mouth and in his teeth. Reese whined, the fell back into the snow to gaze up at the sky above him. He closes his eyes and rested, knowing that the Pokeball in his jacket pocket had begun to vibrate.

He smiled slightly, eyes still shut, when he heard the sound of the Pokeball opening up and the sound of the red electric like current flow out from the ball and onto the ground besides him. “Vul? Vulpix vul?” said the little fox as she hopped through the snow to reach her trainers side. She placed her front paws on his chest and lifted herself up so that she could see his face. He was smiling, but his eyes were closed. She wined as she hopped off of him and moved over to his head that was resting in the snow, where she began to nudge her skull against his. Reese opened his eyes and turned his head to see her, then laughed.

Sitting up, Marilyn jumped into his lap to escape the frigid snow that was pressing up against her paws. She circled his lap, like how a dog does to its bed, before curling up and snuggling up. Reese stroked her head tenderly as the two of them sat in the snow and sighed. He looked up, only to see a dark cloud on the horizon. It was crawling towards them at a slow pace; gingerly dragging itself along the skyline towards them. Reese inhaled, then exhaled loudly. “We need to get going, Marilyn, look at the clouds.” he said as he pointed up towards the sky with his index finger. The fox looked up and whined at the sight, then jumped off of Reese’s lap so that he could stand.

“C’mon, we need to get going. Here.” he said, bending down to lift his little sweetheart into his cradled arms. She snuggled tightly against his coat and called her name, then together the two of them began to make their way over to the Pokemon Center –only to find a snow pile blocking the entrance. What luck. Reese pouted his lips, knowing that he would have to find some way around it to get in, when he heard a voice. He turned to the left, the right, and then finally saw the nurse who was beckoning him to come over to a window from the center. She said that her friend was missing and that a storm was approaching, neither of which were good.

Reese frowned, knowing that he just wanted to get inside rather than go on a bounty hunt for a little girl –but he couldn’t abandon her either. He twisted his neck around to see the area which the woman said she had last been seen, sighed, then turned back to her and said: “I’ll go find her for you, don’t worry. What is her name though, and could I possibly get yours? So that she’ll know who sent me out to get her? “ he paused for a moment, thinking over what else he should say when, oh yeah. “The ‘name is Reese, by the way miss. Now just tell me what I need to know and I’ll go fetch her for you~” he said with a friendly smile and tired eyes.

((OOC: I feel bad. You wrote so much, and I didn't even met close to that much. But, it's late and my head hurts. More muse to go around next time, hopefully. This plot sounds epic, in a way.))

Nurse Joy only raised an eyebrow at you. She had her normal nurse outfit on, and you didn't recognize her? Well, it was truly my fault. I never said straight out it was Nurse Joy. Either way, Nurse Joy smiled at your accepting her favor. "My name is Nurse Joy. Her name is Emily. Please hurry, there is a terrible Blizzard coming!" With that, more snow dropped from the sky and the wind picked up, bringing the snow raging over the windows. Of course, this meant the snow was coming for you too, and trying to eat cover you. Before the pile of snow started to shift, you caught a quick glimpse of Nurse Joy pointed towards the docks. Do you dare go?

From where you're standing, you could see a rather large pile of snow already, which could end up being in the middle of the road. However, something caught your eye. Something was in that snow pile; it wasn't white, and stood out from the Winter's pile. Maybe a person or a pokemon!? Either way, looks like your task at hand would lead you to the docks.

Reese smiled, his warm grey eyes gradually shifted in his eye sockets so that he was looking up towards the sky to behold its foreboding. There was going to be a storm, without a doubt, and it was going to be one who beckoned people to come out and absorb its beauty, only to be seized by the frigid claws of death to be ripped to shreds as entertainment for the blizzards weary eyes. This was also going to be a long storm; he could tell as he continued to study the dead black clouds that crawled overhead. They barely moved, but their blackness had stretched well over the sky and had begun to blot out any signs of the sun; this would be the kind of storm that was not only deadly, but it passed by at a snail’s pace. It would imbed its nails into the earth, devastating woodland and homes, as it dragged its strained body across the island without a care in the world. But Reese still smiled, because despite how wretched it was he could still see the beauty in all of it.

He pulled his head back around to look at the nurse who was still trying to pry the window open, and nodded to himself once. Marilyn looked up to him, still cradled in his arms, and yipped –curious as to what was going on. Reese smiled and placed his thin hand on her head, stroking her fur affectionately with his numb fingers, then looked back up to the nurse and said: “Miss Joy, don’t worry, I’ll go see if I can find her. Marilyn, down ya go~” he continued, moving his arms about and setting Marilyn down in the cold snow at his feet. With a final nod to the nurse, Reese turned around on his heels and began to make his way over to where the docks where. It would be a bit of a walk, but there was no reason to run. Hell, he couldn’t if he tried due to how unsteady his prosthetic leg was.

Marilyn, who was still sitting in the snow, looked up the nurse curiously and watched as Reese began to walk away from her. She yipped, as if telling him to wait, and bounded through the snow till she was at his side. Looking down, Reese could help but smile at how adorable she seemed; she was trudging through the snow like him, but the only difference being that she literally had to hop through it because if she stayed still for too long she would sink into it so far her legs would be completely covered. Then, of course, she would have to wiggle her way out of the snow and begin hopping towards Reese to make up for the distance she had loss when she got stuck. So together, the two of them traveled down the twisting snow covered road towards the docks over yonder..when something odd caught the young man’s eye.

Something brown in a swirl of white, odd. He approached it cautiously, as did Marilyn who stood a good two feet behind him, and tried to figure out what it was. Was it a rock? A limb knocked off of one of the surrounding pine trees? Or was it something living? He edged closer to it, not lifting his feet off the ground so that the snow would not crunch beneath him, and slid towards the object. He touched it with one hand, but quickly pulled it back when he felt the warmth through his fingertips. Marilyn had since rounded around her trainer, and began poking at the creature curiously with her nose. It made no response to her, as Reese say, so he was forced to take an alternate action. "Hey, shhhhhh, come here you.” he whispered quietly as he gently lifted the creature up out of the snow with one arm and unzipped his jacket with his other. He placed the thing in his jacket, against his chest, so that it could hopefully warm up and regain some sense of consciousness…

“Wake up, your safe now. I’ve got you.”

The figure in the snow was seemingly old cold, with absolutely no joke or pun intended. The thing turned out to be actually a pokemon. It's body was definitely cold to the touch, and it seemed to have flakes still covering it from snow that blew in the wind. It's feather's tips had sharp, frozen points. As you turned it over, to face it, you could see an icicle had formed by it's eye. Clearly, the poor thing was crying. As you looked it over, you could only imagine. Your Poketech, the watch that every trainer sported, beeped. It read off information. From what the watch is reading, this pokemon is a Hoothoot, and the second one you've come into contact while on this here journey. The poor thing is frozen, but not for long. It senses someone is close, as it's side heats up from the body you have pressing against it. Eventually, after talking to it some more, the owl pokemon wakes up and comes to life as if resurrected with energy drinks, like Monster.

"Hoot! Hoothoot!" The owl frantically moved around, twirling and struggling in your arms. Once it found it's way loose, and caught itself on the snowy covered Earth. It repeated it's name. That is how all pokemon communicated with humans. It flailed it's arms to the side, and although they were small, they meant a big deal. But as it tried to calm down, especially after seeing Vulpix so calm around you, it realized what you did. Instead of flailing arms for something, it bounced towards you and took hold of your leg, hugging it. Maybe this Hoothoot wanted to be caught, but then again maybe just wanted love. They weren't usually in this part of the continent. Maybe it was separated from a trainer. You were looking for a trainer named Emily, right? Better get to it.

[Frozen Docks]

You were nearly to the docks, where you had to go anyways. After it's warm and comforting hug, the Hoothoot started to bounce towards the direction of which the docks were in. You were going there anyways, but now the Hoothoot is going towards it. It really seems like Hoothoot might know Emily. Only seems right. Pokemon in pile of snow, going towards the docks where a trainer is reported to be. Anyway, as you followed it, or starting back on your journey, you came to the docks. However, two figures appeared, and blocked your way. The one seemed to hesitate with it's movements, but the other didn't. As the snow and wind calmed down for the moment, you got the view of the two. A Snover and a Snorunt. What purpose they had, who knows. All I know is you cannot try and find Emily without battling these two. As an act of justice, and maybe to pay back some debt, Hoothoot glanced at you and called out his name again. He was there to help!

Reese held his arms open as the small owl began to fight against his grip, letting him free and allowing the poor thing to accidentally face plant into the frigid snow once more. He grimaced at the site of the small owl having hit the floor, despite the fact that it was well cushioned from the soft snow below. Still kneeling down in the snow, Reese held out his hands in front of him as if to help the poor creature out of the snow once more, but he restrained himself as he watched the small thing struggle on its own to get out. He tilted his head to the side curiously as he continued to stare at the thing with a pouty but perplexed expression, wanting to know just what the hell was going on inside this little ones head. “Vul? Vulpix?” mumbled Marilyn curiously as she approached her trainers side before sitting down in the cold and began watching the bird with a confused look on her sweet face.

It took a bit, but eventually the bird popped up out of the snow, and Reese retracted his outstretched arms to his side He and Marilyn continued to gaze at the owl, curious and bewildered, when the thing turned around and began to jump up and down in place –his small wings eagerly flapping as if he had something to say. The bird glanced over to Marilyn, who was still staring, and then back up to Reese. Having seemed to make the connection that the human meant him no harm, he jumped closer to him and began to pull on the edge of his pants with his small beak. “Now just hang on!” Reese said in a low voice after zipping up his jacket as the bird continued to pull at his leg. “What are you doing? Come here..” he said as he reached down and picked up the owl in his arms once more.

He looked into the creatures worried crimson eyes, trying to decipher what the hell he was trying to tell him. Reese sighed and then allowed a small smile to stretch out over his face, then placed his hand upon the bird’s forehead and began to pet him. “There there, I’ll help you. My name is Edgar, and this here is Marilyn. Do you have a name?” he said, though knowing exactly the answer he was going to receive. “Hoot! Hoothoot hoot!” sounded the small bird. Edgar nodded, still kneeling in the snow with the owl in his arms. Marilyn, curious, hopped through the thick snow to get a closer look at the bird. She placed her forepaws on Reese’s bent legs, and used them to prop her up so that she could smell the bird in his arms. "Vulpix vul!” she cried.

“Now,” continued Reese, “we’re looking for a girl. Her name is Emily, you wouldn’t have happened to see her now would you?” he asked. The bird began flailing his wings again, as if he knew exactly who Reese was talking about, and began crying his name again and again once more: “Hoothoot hoothoothoot!” Reese nodded at this and then began trying to push himself up and out of the snow. His prosthetic leg creaked as it shifted, but he felt no pain from it. Lifting the bird up, he placed the small owl upon his shoulder so that he would be out of the snow and able to point him in the direction that the needed to go. With a cry of his name, the bird pointed closer to the docks, which was exactly where they began for. “C’mon Marilyn!” he said as he began to trek through the snow once more.

The three of them eventually neared the docks, where the water below gushed back and forth with frigid but fluid motions. Just looking at the water sent a chill down Reese’s spine; he could only imaging how cold it must have been down in the water. But as he continued to press himself towards the wooden docks which lead out onto the sea towards several stationary ships, he could see what appeared to be some wild Pokemon in the distance. He looked out to them, trying to figure out what they where, but eventually figured it out when they neared them further. It was a Snover and a Snorunt; two Pokemon that could easily withstand the frigid weather. The two wild Pokemon approached the trio, and from the look on their faces they were not just about to let them walk by. “Marilyn, go on! Wanna help out Hoothoot?” asked Reese as the small fox hopped closer to the two wild Pokemon through the snow.

The bird narrowed his eyes and nodded, then took off from Reese’s shoulders and landed besides Marilyn. The two looked at one another, nodded, and then awaited their instructions. Reese needed to think this one out quick; there was a storm approaching and even though he was nearing closer and closer to Emily, he still had no idea where she was. Not only that, but if he played his cards right he could do some impressive damage to the two of them with Marilyn’s Ember attack, but he also had to be cautious about Hoothoot –for the small owl could take serious damage from either his opponents. Reese nodded once to himself before he spoke up against the frigid wind: “Hoothoot, I need you to keep back from those two and let Marilyn do all of the attacking. For now though, just keep your distance and use Staredown on each of them to help out Mariyln. Marilyn, sweetheart, begin by using Ember at your feet to activate your ability –and then proceed to use one on both the Snorunt and Snover!”

Hoothoot – Staredown x2 (@Snorunt, Snover)
Marilyn – Ember (@Self), Ember x2 (@Snorunt, Snover)

((OOC: Sorry for length. Did it late at night and wanted to get straight to the point so you could slap a good end to the battle. :P ))

This may be mean, but just to point out you messed up. This character's name is Reese, not Edgar. That is the other one! Silly, silly, silly, Crosse. Anyway, you were facing enemies that I must've not checked. However, they seemed right due to terrain. Luckily, you did homework and picked a very good starter off the list to be in Shimo with. Or, well, the docks right now. Whichever. As Hoothoot used Staredown, Snover seemed to hesitate on moving. A timid pokemon, maybe? Snorunt, however, didn't. It jerked itself forward and tried going for your Vulpix. Too bad that during the Staredown, you used a showering move that rained fire upon you, boosting power in your fox of a pokemon. Then, Marilyn arched her head and shot the Snorunt, and then turned to Snover, and shot him with the same move. However, since Snover entered the battle, hail was going to fall. However, after the damage from Ember was done, you had apparently taken him out. A powered up Ember, plus STAB, made this equation loose a factor. Snorunt didn't faint, though, and used Powder Snow on Hoothoot.

Whoa, big paragraph. So, already you wiped out Snover. Vulpix was a tank against Snover, but unfortunately the same wasn't said for the Snorunt. However, with Hoothoot weak against Ice, one may wonder why it is really here? This Trainer of his better have been visiting family, and not here to battle; it'd be dumb. However, you can finish the Snorunt off in the next round; go for it!

The Many Faces of Crosse
Marilyn pranced back over to her trainer after she had finished her first attack on the wild no gooders; she began bounding though the giant heaps of snow to reach the side of her trainer. Her soft auburn tails fluctuated behind her as she continued to skip across the fields of white, anxious to be praised by her trainer and to receive her next instructions for battle. She approached his side and purred, hummed more so, and rubbed her body against his legs. Reese had been looking out to the two adversaries who he was facing; he didn’t notice his little girls approach, especially since she began rubbing up to his fake leg. Eventually though, her murmurs caught his attention and he bent down slightly to caress the deep golden locks on her head. “Good Marilyn, very good!” he said to her, praising her efforts, when he saw Hoothoot struggling over yonder.

Reese caught the little ones eye, and then nodded for her to go over and help out the Hoothoot who was struggling with this battle. The little fox bounded through the snow once more, slowly but steadily getting closer and closer to the owl who was shaking off the icicle spears that were clinging to his weary body. “Vulpix? Vul Vulpix?” she asked, nudging her head against his body as if she was trying to help stead him. The owl turned to her, his once bright big eyes cold with exhaustion, and hooted quietly to her. The little fox watched him eagerly, then nodded, and jumped through the snow so that she now stood before him so she could protect him from the little devil that was causing him such pain.

Hoothoot tilted his head; he was curious with how supportive the little fox was being to him. He cried out her name, probably a wish of good luck for the physical combat she was about to endure, and then turned his head around to see Reese. The look on his face begged his trainer to give the commands so that he could end this battle and find his trainer, but he didn’t just want little Marilyn to go out on her own and possibly take a bullet for her; it seemed like he wanted to continue helping out as well. Reese nodded as this and folded his arms, trying to keep in the heat that was slowly escaping out into the cold.

“Hoothoot, keep out of the way and let little Marilyn do this. But if you still want to help out, go ahead and aid her with two repeated attacks of Staredown to lower the Snorunts defense!” he said, his cold dark eyes locked onto that of the little owls. He then turned his attention over to Marilyn, who was crouched down on all fours and was beginning to growl. “Marilyn, now, use Ember on the Snorunt and then another if it is necessary; be careful and try to divert its attention from Hoothoot.”

Hoothoot stayed out of the way, like you had said. He could help, since he has the energy, but maybe not the health. He doesn't need another attack like that from the Snorunt. Besdies, even the owl knew that Vulpix didn't need help in this battle, at all. Watching as it did unfold, the fox made a tiny noise, and then opened her mouth. By now, Hoothoot probably only thought Vulpix knew Ember, and that was it. However, Vulpix is going to eventually be a very strong and beautiful Ninetales. Anyway, the fiery pellets burst from the foxes mouth and showered the snow hat pokemon. Somehow, the Snorunt still stood. It wobbled, and didn't seem to make an effort to attack. It knew damn well that it was done. Another shower hit it, and it was over for good. The battle was over!

Vulpix earned 19 :exp
Grew to Level 8 with 1 :exp left over!
She learned Roar!
Hoothoot earned (only) 5.9 :exp ; which sucks in his case.

Snorunt earned 5.5 :exp
Snover earned 2.5 :exp

Snover never had a big chance to use his ability, but what was left of it had died completely. Instead, you had even bigger problems. Sure, you could catch a Snorunt or Snover, but there was a Blizzard rumored to be on it's way. As Snorunt grunted, admitting defeat, a terrible wind swept through the area. Hoothoot called out, scared of being taken away. Him and Vulpix, both, clung to your legs. Hell, you probably wanted something to hold on too. Before you know it, it was over. The wind died down and in the distance, you could tell the storm was coming, and fast. Now, you had two options. Go back to the Pokemon Center, or go get this girl. As determined as you may be, we'll just natural stick with getting the girl. Besides, there are big boats right here. How awesome would it be to spend time in an abandoned boat when a very strong Blizzard is happening?

Something creepy happened. The misty fog that had been around from the snow, had finally lifted. And the wind must've helped. From behind it, you had spotted a very big ship. It looked like the one you had come to Shimo on, but there was no way in hell it was the exact same. When Hoothoot seen it, he instantly ran for it. The wind nearly swept him away, and if it came back, he'd be gone. He hooted, and beckoned with his tiny feather-like limbs. That choice is purely up to you. To follow the owl, and hope that he knows where Emily is, because he clearly likes the ship. Or, leave him and go back to the Pokemon Center and hope the girl is alive when the storm ends. Of course, you seem to good hearted for leaving either. As I hope you take the way of following Hoothoot, read the next.

~Following Hoothoot~

Getting to the ship was fine. A nice walk in some snow, and no pokemon to attack you. Walking around and taking it easy was the thing to help heal Vulpix, if she needed it. Of course, only her energy did. After getting to the ship, you only had one choice left. To get on it, right? Stepping cautiously on it, you could already here the creeks and windy screams of the interior. How cool would it be to be a ghost ship? After exploring the ship for what seemed to be hours, but really was only thirty minutes, since you only explored the one floor. In the distance from where you now stood was a room that was open. Inside, you need a computer-like counter. Below it. . . A girl!? Yes, a girl lay knocked out, as it seems, and hunched over. It could certainly be Emily. Running for her, as I know you would, you found the girl and Hoothoot started to slightly cry. Seeing his Trainer like this would definitely set off this kind of reaction. That means that this is Emily and Hoothoot is hers.

"Waaaatch. . . ooout." Through barely conscience lips, Emily said Watch Out. What was that suppose to mean? Abruptly, a loud noise erupted from behind you. The door shut harshly. Startled, Hoothoot and Vulpix no doubt seen them first. Three Gastly hovered above the door. They seemed to be lined up. One on the left, one in the middle, and one on the right. Just as things got creepy, these ghosts showed up. Didn't I say a ghost ship would be cool? If not, I meant too. The Gastly in the middle had something happened. A icy blue color formed around it's lower oval-like body and then burst to the window. Was that an Ice Punch? Either way, the window cracked and shattered. The window was open, and snow and cold were coming in. Reese has eight (8) (more then enough, probably) battle refs to win against the three Gastly before the snow becomes unbearable. How did it get Ice Punch? Clearly, it has lived in Shimo City or around the city for a very long time, and it has natural adapted to learn it.

The Many Faces of Crosse
“Holy hell!” exclaimed Reese as the frozen wind seared against his clothes and slashed at his face, its claws cold, elegantly swift, but ruthless none the less. The young man lifted his hand to touch his face, his frozen fingertips stinging as he tried to gently touch where the ghastly beast had attacked. Looking down at his hands, at his fingers, he saw no blood sticking to his cold skin, so he touched at his face again and again until he was sure that the wind had actually not caused any harm to him; the cold brought out the strongest of beasts, those who could endure the torment of snow and ice and had a craving for the scent of blood, Reese had to be sure that he would not attract anything that could possibly wipe him or his little Marilyn from existence. He looked down to the two creatures that clung to his legs, using him as a shield to keep away from the haggard fingers that kept clawing at their soft and tender flesh. “We need to get out of here..” he said after he turned around to see a wave of black approaching; the storm was crawling closer and closer to where they were. He needed to find Emily and get the hell out of here as soon as he could…

“Hoot? Hoothoot hoothoot hoooot!” cried the owl from beneath the young man’s legs. He quickly turned around, the creatures beneath him dancing around his moving legs to that they were not accidentally kicked in the process, when he saw the mist that clung over the dreary sea begin to dissipate. A ship loomed in the distance across the old rickety docks, its metal hull old and rusted with no signs of life aboard it. Hoothoot continued with his ruckus, he jumped out from beneath Reese’s legs and began hopping towards the ship..was this where little Emily was? “C’mon Marilyn!” Reese yelled as he began to jog through the snow, occasionally kicking at the snow when his prosthetic leg would get stuck in a thick mound. “Vulpix? Vulpix!” cried the little one as she watched her trainer take off, taking a few moments to think before she began hopping through the snow to catch up.

The small owl led the way; he continued to hop through the snow until it began to wear him out, which was then when he took flight and began to glide over to the ship. Reese and Marilyn were not far behind; the seemed to run in a straight line one after another: it began with Hoothoot, was followed by Reese, and then little Marilyn. Reese’s boot clunked against the wooden docks as he threw himself out of the snow hills, trying his hardest not to keel over and force himself to take a breather –he could do that in the ship, but not now, not out here. He lunged for the door with his frigid fingers and pulled at it, his grip occasionally slipping, but soon enough he pried open the steel door and called for the other two to get inside. Hoothoot flew threw and landed on the cold floor as Marilyn jumped across the small gap between the dock and sea, not even noticing the frigid waters that lay below her. Reese jumped in and slammed the door shut, then fell to the floor.

“S-shit. Shit.” he said between gasps of air, looking around the ship with his back propped up against the door. The wind howled behind him as it began to scratch at the door, like a feral animal trying to get to its prey on the other side. Marilyn and Hoothoot approached the young man, each with a worried look on their face. He shook of the pathetic feelings that were beginning to fog his mind and stood up, using the wall as his support. He wobbled a bit after he got to his feet; he wasn’t used not standing on solid ground. He was still breathing heavy after he managed to calm down enough to begin exploring the ship, and soon enough as he approached one of the service desks he found the girl beneath it.

He bent down beneath the desk and touched her cautiously with his hand while say, “Hey, hey, c’mon now isn’t the time to sleep. Emily? Emily you need to wake up now! Shit..”. He looked around to see if there was anything wrong with her, but it didn’t look like she had any physical injuries except maybe for exhaustion. He grimaced and continued to look about as Marilyn and Hoothoot rushed over to nurse the young girl; the owl cried out to her, for she was supposedly his trainer, while Marilyn snuggled up to her in hopes of raising her body temperature..when she whispered.

“W-what? What? What did you say?” Reese asked as he ran back over towards her when a loud noise interrupted the quite atmosphere. The young man spun around, breathing heavily, when he saw pieces of glass all scattered on the floor adjacent to one of the ships windows. Above the wreckage there floated three specters, each of them with a devilish grin on their faces. The wind screamed as it slashed at the side of the ship, and the little ghosts seemed to laugh as it found its way in through the shattered window. This was not good; this was really not good. “Hoothoot, Marilyn, I need you!” he called out as he took a step backwards. Marilyn growled harshly and jumped away from the young girl to her trainer, looking at the specters with a steady eye. Hoothoot was more resilient to leave his trainer, but eventually he did so and took his place besides little Marilyn.

Reese pointed out to the specters, knowing that he didn’t have the time to waste by trying to communicate with them and work out a peaceful agreement; he had to fight. “Marilyn, you know what to do! Begin with Ember on yourself honey and then use it twice more on the female!” he said after thinking; the female specter had Ice Punch, and egg move that would be devastating to Hoothoot –so he needed to get her the hell out of the way. “Hoothoot!” Reese called out, “begin by using Foresight so that you can attack, then go in to the younger male Gastly and take him down with a Tackle!”

Derping... All Day, Every Day!

The blizzard whiped around the glass, and howled as it did so. Shards of glass, tiny ones, began to break off from the tremendous wind. The entire area, which wasn't the largest, began to feel very cold. Deathly cold. Emily, well, she wasn't in the most warmest of attire. Her attackers must've made it that way in order for quicker... death! However, with Hoothoot and Vulpix on your side, I don't see why you couldn't defeat the trio of Ghosts. So, without further ado, this is how things went down.

Vulpix arched her head up, and immediately had an Ember ready. It sprayed over her, and a red colored glow appeared. It was like a signal to her and you that her ability had activated. Hoothoot and her could tell the situation was bad, and gets worse with every turn. The cold also swept over them. Vulpix had a more natural coat that Hoothoot, whose owl-fur wasn't as thick as you thought. He wasn't a snow owl, that is for sure. However, at the same time as Vulpix showered herself, Hoothoot's eyes lit up and he identified the Gastly well enough to hit it. Vulpix beat him to the 'first blood' status (or, getting the first hit, or whatever) as she arched her head to an angle and fired off one big round of Ember. And then, like it was without a pause, another one. The two Ember attacks showered the weaker of the Gastly, and the middle one. As it seemed that there was no hope, she was still standing. But it only took a few more moments until a fiery red color swept her and she had been inflicted with a Burn status. Fainted, the Gastly fell. As it seemed to go down, the owl rushed the other Gastly and tackled it.

Then, the two Gastly were left. They looked at each other. The stronger of the two started to contort his face. It was giving a Mean Look to Hoothoot. Then, the other Gastly that it had attacked used Hypnosis and aimed it directly for the owl. It was caught, and went to sleep. The Ghosts had to take their five seconds to laugh a little. Now, unless Hoothoot woke up, it was two against one. They had no problem with that.

“Aaaaaw crap…” mumbled Reese about halfway through the last round as he caught a glimpse of one of the specters eyes begin to glow an odd mixture of fuchsia and red. He lowered his head and slapped his hand against his forehead, expressing the annoyance that he was about to endure with this battle; it appeared as if one of the ghosts decided to do the smart thing and put the Hoothoot to sleep. Great. Just great. Frowning, Reese lifted his face up to see the battle yet again, and smiled slightly after he saw the female Gastly fall from little Marilyn’s bombardment of attacks. That was one down, but two more to go, and hell the storm outside was still going on strong. Looking away from the fainted ghost to the window, Reese frowned, knowing that he had only a small amount of time before the storm found its way in through the window.

The young trainer gritted his teeth together, apprehension building up inside of him, when he called out to the little owl you was asleep on the floor before him: “Hoothoot! C’mon Hoothoot I need you to wake up now little buddy! Now reaaally isn’t the time to sleep; c’mon wake up! Go at the younger male with Tackle and then if you can do it twice more to the older one. C’mon, wake up buddy!” He looked around anxiously, knowing that time was slowly fading away, and felt panic rising up within his gut. His sight quickly came across to Marilyn, who was standing out in front of the sleeping bird in a protective manner; she knew that with him asleep, he would be an open target to any of the ghosts that were remaining.

Reese looked from left to right, left to right, left to right, thinking about what he should have her do with her turn this time around. Ember seemed like the best bet, it always did, and seeing as how he didn’t have the time to better plan out any diverse and unique strategy for a plan of attack he decided that Ember would have to suffice. “Marilyn, hold your ground out in front of Hoothoot; protect him, he is depending on you. Fire off an Ember at one Gastly and then follow it with another immediately with another on the other Gastly. Take them down girlie!”

The fox nodded at this and began to growl under her breath, she was also aware that of the time crunch that was beginning to invade on their territory. Reese smiled; he was glad that, though she was young and somewhat ignorant, that she was able to understand the situation. His hand slid down into his pocket, grabbing at the blackness for something, and smiled when the small cold spherical mechanism brushed against his fingers. He quickly brought out a spare Pokeball and held it out before him, then reared his arm back and cast it out towards the fainted Gastly on the floor over yonder.

Fortunately, you seemed on a very good start. The Blizzard remained behind you, slowly edging it's way inside. But, you were strong enough with Vulpix to maybe defeat the entire team. As it seemed, Hoothoot was knocked out. His big, owl eyes closed and his mind off into a slumber. Your voice tried to reach out, and helped a lot. The Hoothoot twitched, over and over. But he didn't wake up. Though, with using your voice, it must definitely helped. Oh well, though. Marilyn the Vulpix was on her own. As she arched her head back, a fiery shower swept the weaker of two remaining Gastly. It let out a gasp for air, and fell numb, but wasn't out totally. Another Ember would've done it, or even a tackle or two from the owl. Though, with the circumstances. Moving on, Vulpix turned her attention to the stronger Gastly that had been present in the trio. Her Embers came out quickly, and as it seemed, the Gastly had been worried with his ally. The trio showed kindness and a caring feeling towards each other that certainly made things difficult. The fiery pellets burned over Gastly, and it yelped in pain.

Certainly, you were getting these Gastly's to a fine edge of their life, or hit points. They quickly regained their hovering balance and aimed for Vulpix. No, they then stared Hoothoot down. But then, Hoothoot surprised them all. Even you. For, it wasn't sleeping at all. Those twitches must've been to tell you, but, you just didn't get the message. Hoothoot has the Insomnia ability, which means it cannot be sleeping. The bird flew up, and landed a tackle on the weaker of Gastly, knocking it into the door, and then quickly flailed to flop to the other and deliver a tackle, and then another, drilling it into the wall. The constant drilling made the strong of Gastly's faint, and fall to the ground. As for the other, well, it was in total disbelief. You had an easy run here.

As for your pokeball, well, it certainly made it's mark. During the conflict of Hoothoot and the Gastly, your pokeball basically stole the female away from the two fighting spirits. Without a trace, the Gastly was yours. Congrats! Oh wait, you arched your arm back and tried for the second Gastly. You had the fighting spirit and a spirit to capture. No doubt, you were just going to trade one or two of them away. The second one was absorbed into the pokeball right away. Congrats, again!

The wind hissed as is it choked its way through the window, clawing at Reese and his team who were just out of reach from its frigid and jagged hands. The little fox, though proud with how well she had been performing, lowered her ears, terrified to think of what would happen if she didn’t finish this off soon. She whimpered, obviously nervous, but was comforted by a soft hoot from her little friend. The owl, who had not been asleep, hopped over to her and looked at her with his beaming red eyes as he tilted his head. He cried his name again, probably questioning what worried the small fox, when she spoke up and began to explain the fears that were steadily creeping up behind her. The owl, who at once seemed terrified, was now on a whole new level of confidence –perhaps the fact that the ghosts couldn’t harm him was enough of a self esteem booster to come to the aid of a frightened friend? He hooted again, Marilyn shook her head, and then together the two of them jumped forward.

Reese, ignoring the worry that was being expressed by his companions, jumped forwards quickly and dove for the Pokeball that had landed on the ground. He scraped it up with his numb fingers and pocketed it and then, now kneeling on the floor of the boat, looked up to see his little girl and the owl preparing themselves to take down the final ghost. A gust of wind swept in from behind, throwing itself against him with all of its weight and sending shivers down his spine. He looked around to the window and watched the snow flurry outside; he needed to finish this. He needed to finish this, grab Emily, and get the hell out of the way of this storm. He narrowed his eyes as adrenaline began to pump through his veins; there was no time to waste.

Still kneeling, he looked up to the last remaining ghost and called out his plan of attack for his team to execute. “Marilyn,” he began, let’s go in and fire off one last Ember at the ghost. Hoothoot, if he still manages to survive, bombard him with two assaults of Tackle to bring him down. Now go; hurry!” he called out.

((OOC| Sorry, crap post is crap..I don't feel to good right now...))

Derping... All Day, Every Day!

This battle definitely wasn't going to last longer. All it would take is a mere Ember. And that is exactly what happened. Marilyn arched her head for the last time in this battle! Her fiery rain took Gastly's energy and it fainted to the floor. With haste, Reese took his empty pokemon, one of three, and tossed it to the ghost. As it was fainted, there was no chance for a fight. The pokeball ticked, signaling that capture was a success. Picking it up, the Blizzard's wintry coat had nearly covered the floor. A good pile lay on the controls of the ship, and nearly feel on Emily. Speaking of which...

"Whoa. Where... am... I?" She was faintly coming too. Her eyes blinked wildly before nearly coming to a stop. Her energy still had not been there. With the end of her short time awake again, the door to your side clicked. There it was; the ticket free was just given. The door would allow you to shut the Blizzard in, and stay out of it. However, it'd be very dangerous to go outside the ship no matter what.

You Won!
Vulpix earned 16.9 EXP
She grew to Level 10, with 0.9 EXP left over!
Hoothoot earned 12.5 EXP
He grew to Level 8, with 5.4 EXP left over!
Gastly (Greta) earned 4 EXP
Gastly (Just Caught) earned 7 EXP
He grew to Level 8 and learned Mean Look!

Since everything was done, the main thing and the most important thing to do, which requires no more fighting, is getting Emily to the Pokemon Center safely. After an hour of waiting in the ship, the wind calmed down, and the snow subsided. It was long enough for you to get to the Pokemon Center with Emily. She could barely walk, and at times was too heavy for you too carry for the length of a walk. It took nearly a half hour, maybe more, to constantly changed methods and get her to the building. Once there, I had to be the barer of bad news. The door was covered with even more snow. Marilyn was luckily still out. Her Ember attacks did very well against the snow, and Nurse Joy immediately got you, Emily, and the two pokemon in the doors. After two hours, your pokemon were healed and Emily was on her way out. This time, she was awake.

Her parents immediately stand up, and run to her side. She is in a wheelchair right now. You over hear them talking about how they were stuck in the City because of the Blizzard, and how Joy contacted them. They were eager to find out who saved their seventeen year old daughter. Nurse Joy, before you could say anything, said it was a boy named Reese. She spotted you out of the crowd and let the Parents meet you. Her mother in tears, and her father ready to hug you. They were bombarding you with thank yous, and smiles. It must be a very nice feeling knowing you saved someone's daughter. As a nice reward, the parents then mentioned a couple of options. He could take $300 from them or get a connection to go and get a move tutor. They waved $150 in front of you, and were forcing you take at least that. Emily, who had enough strength to wheel her chair over, smiled and had Hoothoot in her lap.

"I'm a clumsy girl. I made everyone so scared. Even Hoothoot. But while I wasn't so awake, I can still remember things. Those Gastly, they tricked me onto the ship and had the ice pokemon get rid of Hoothoot. You battled those Gastly very well. As such, Hoothoot also seemed to take a liking to you. No matter what you say, I think it would be safe to say that Hoothoot can be yours." With those words, Hoothoot teared up, but turned to look at her in sadness. What a moment.

*$150 is added to your profile. Gastly is too. If you'd like the other $150, accept the money. If you accept the move tutor, it will be a short task for a move tutor of rank C and below on any pokemon you choose. And, as you see, Hoothoot can be yours. Maybe just let them have some time to each other for goodbyes.
