In My Little White Room Again
|
The frigid chill of Shimo city was nothing for you –snuggled in your warm extravagant fur coat and matching boots. With your arms wrapped around you, trying to retain more heat, you now stood out on top of one of the snowy hills overlooking the quaint city itself. Small rustic buildings were cuddled together, black soot streaming from their chimneys, and all of them were plastered with spots of snow. Icicles hung off of the rims of their roofs –sharply pointed and most likely dangerous for the unobservant passer-bys. Beyond the buildings atop of another snow covered hill there stood a massive building that scintillating as the sun continued on its decent behind it; Shimo city’s one and only Pokemon gym. It was all quite beautiful, for like said everything was coated in a winterish gloss, even the trees of the “Frozen Forest” over yonder. I’m sure a woman such as yourself would be quite content in such a lovely atmosphere; a perfect place to begin your Pokemon journey with your loyal companion Van Gouh, the Smeargle (though as of now he was resting comfortably in the warmth of his Pokeball). Now though, as you continued to look out towards the city, snowflakes had begun their decent from the grey overcastted sky. Each of them danced down from the clouds in a unique way as they continued their voyage to the snow covered ground that crunched beneath your boots. Your clothes had become speckled with the sweet little flakes, and occasionally a few would fall and stick onto your dark long eyelashes. Well, now would be the time to continue on down towards the town, don’t you think? You carefully made your way down the hill, not wanting to fall flat on your face and have a mouthful of snow, when you noticed some movement to your left. A few pine trees erected from the snowy ground there and beneath them there lay massive clumps of snow piles that had fallen off of their branches onto the ground. One of the piles, near the trunk of the base, began to move a little. Seconds later a fuzzy smiling face burst out from under it; it was a little Zigzagoon. The fuzzy raccoon crawled his way out from under the snow pile and shook his body wildly –throwing off the snow that was still clinging to his warm fur. The little creature, after having finished knocking off as much snow as he could, planted his bottom and looked up at you with big eyes. The little creature cocked his head to the side, curious as to why a human was so far out from the city. This is where I leave you now with a couple of options: you could perhaps try and befriend the little one (he doesn’t appear to be hostile), maybe battle him, or simply ignore him and continue on your voyage to the city..the choice was all yours~

Elizabeth shuddered as she felt the cool wind pierce her fur lined coat as she stood in the snow. Shimo was majestic. A site worth more than she had back home in Golderia. Something that only she as a Trainer could appreciate. She wanted to share the moment with Van Gouh, but it was much too cold out to have him raoming around. Even though he had a very soft cream color, Elizabeth was sure she'd lose him in all this snow. Finally done with her sight seeing, she carefully made her way down the path. Her boots, while their primary function was indeed fashion, were in fact actual hiking boots made for snow and rocky terrain. Growing up with some wealth, Elizabeth made trudging down the snow covered path look as elegant as possible. She even giggled at how easy it was. She stopped briefly to gaze at some frozen pine needles. She debated picking a few and making a wreath necklace for Van Gouh, but decided against possibly harming the beauty of nature around her. As she started to make her way down again, she heard a small rustling noise. She peered under the brush near her to see a smiling face dart out from under the brush. The Zigzagoon shook itself off in front of her. "Oh my! What a darling you are!" Elizabeth looked over the Zigzagoon's tiny furred body. "Ohhh aren't you just the cutest thing? Do you live around here darling?" Elizabeth squatted down to try and close the height gap between her and the Zigzagoon so as not to frighten it as much. "You poor dear. Living out in this cold world alone. Would you like to come with me into town? I can get you a nice hot dinner and some good company. Van Gouh is very friendly to other Pokemon. And being a Normal Type, you two would get along fairly well." Elizabeth started to rummage through her purse for an empty Pokeball. She'd pull out some Pokemon food for the Zigzagoon to see if it were hungry and try to entice it into joining her. Edited by Elizabeth, Aug 9 2010, 04:55 PM.

In My Little White Room Again

The little Zigzagoon cocked his head to the side adorably as you spoke to him, with that cute goofy grin still stretched out across his fuzzy face. The little one was panting, surprisingly, and was so excited to meet your acquaintance that he was bouncing up and down in place; he didn’t seem frightened at all. After you had knelt down besides the little raccoon, his scurried over to your side, sniffing at your clothes with his pudgy dark nose, and then cutely began to circle you –leaving his little paw prints behind in the snow. After a few times of circling you, he stopped in front of you yet again and plopped his bottom down into the snowy ground and looked up to you. He titled his head from side to side as you rummaged through your bag, looking for spare food and Pokeballs, curious as to what you were doing. He delightfully yipped once, trying to regain your attention. Just then you had finally gotten a hold of the items you were searching for, and brought them out before you –only to see that the little mongrel’s tail was shaking so fast that it looked like his entire bottom was vibrating. The Zigzagoon yipped again, titling his head, and watched as you spread out some food on the ground before him. He poked at it with his nose; taking in the odd scents. The little pup stared at the odd blocks of kibble for a few moments, and then plowed his face into the snow trying to stuff them all into his mouth at once. Raising his head, you could see his little cheeks were puffed out and his face covered in snow –but he didn’t seem to mind the cold on his face, for he went straight to chewing on his food. After a couple glomps to swallow what he a stuffed into his mouth, he turned his full and undivided attention up to you again. He looked at the empty Pokeball that you held in your hand and sniffed it, curious as to what the odd object was. He lifted his eyes up to see your face, then down to the Pokeball, then up to you again…and then flopped over on his back. The Zigzagoon didn’t seem to understand that you wanted him to join, for he was wiggling on his back in the snow before you as if he was trying to make some retarded looking snow-angel or something. After a few more moments of squirming in the snow, he looked over to you and yipped, his pink tongue hanging out of his mouth. It seemed as if he wanted you to play with him. |

Elizabeth's eyes lit up as she watched the little Zigzagoon play around in the snow. It was the most adorable thing she had ever seen. She definatly wanted the Zigzagoon to come with her, but didn't know how to go about catching it right now. It was too sweet and innocent to out right battle on the spot, but it didn't seem as if it understood what she wanted. Placing one gloved hand onto her cheek, she tried to think of some alternatives. Maybe she can sneak the catch by letting it play with the Pokeball. The only danger there was that she could lose a Pokeball should the little dear decide to run off with it. Maybe toss two. One to distract it and the other to catch it. Could she anger the little thing by using such underhanded strategies? She held her two hands together and wiggled around at the thought of making such a cute and innocent thing like Zigzagoon be angry at her. She decided to see if there were any tips of catching Pokemon on her Poketech. She scrolled through some information, but nearly everything was based on battling techniques. Those didn't help her at all. She did stumble onto some lottery. She remembered her mom taking part in it years back but never really had any interest in it before. Didn't seem like it would do too much harm to try. She quickly entered a few numbers in for her tickets and pressed send to enter. With that taken care of, she went back to trying to figure out how to get the Zigzagoon to join her. Van Gouh could probably help in this situation. Elizabeth pulled Van Gouh's Pokeball out from her bag and tossed it up, calling out her savior and parter into the frozen wonderland. Van Gouh yawned and stretched when he was released. He looked over at the Zigzagoon and then over to Elizabeth. "Smear?" "Oh no, not a battle darling. Can you convince this little cutie to come with us? He's so adorable that I can't bare to leave him here all alone like this. He's so sweet and innocent." Van Gouh faked a gag and then smiled at Elizabeth. He liked her, just not how she acted sometimes. She was his trainer so he might as well try to get what his trainer wants him to do. Twirling his paint brush tail, Van Gouh made his way towards the Zigzagoon. |

So Van Gouh made his way to the jolly little Zigzagoon, swinging his tail back and forth. The little raccoon was intrigued by the Smeargle's presence, staring at the paint mark on his tail with heightened curiosity. A couple minutes of one-sided speaking proved fruitless for Van Gouh, as his admittedly dim-witted companion continued to stare at his tail as he swung it around. Your Smeargle was clearly showing a little less patience, but calmed down and tried again; but this time, he tucked his tail behind him, to not give the raccoon any ideas. For a minute or two it looked around for the dyed tail, but eventually it gave up and looked at Van Gouh intently. After a couple of minutes, your personal sketch artist turned back toward you and nodded. It looks like the Zigzagoon is ready. The real question is, though: are you? |

Elizabeth shivered as she felt the biting wind pass through her thick coat. She was standing too still for too long and needed to move things along so that she and her Pokemon didn't get colds. That was the very last thing she would need. She checked her Poketech as Van Gouh was trying to talk the Zigzagoon into joining them for his trainer. She checked on her lottery tickets and sadly found that she didn't get anything this round. Opening up her wallet she stared at the money. "Do I dare try again? This is very much a lot less than what I am used to having on hand. I'm starting to miss my credit cards. Guess I'll hold off spending any more until later then." By the time she had finished, it seemed Van Gouh hand managed to talk the little Zigzagoon into joining their group. Elizabeth smiled and knelt down into the snow so she was a bit more at the Zigzagoon's level of height. She pulls the empty Pokeball up to its face and started to try to make contact with its forehead. Hopefully the little darling would accept the capture and Elizabeth could continue onto Shimo. |

The Zigzagoon wasn't sure if it liked having the Pokeball pressed against its head or not, but it had been weighing the options it had. The Smeargle seemed jolly enough, and the lady who was pushing the ball towards him also seemed friendly. He finally decided that he could maximize his strengths by joining you and allowed himself to be sucked into the ball in a flash of red light. The ball began rattling in your hands once....twice....thrice.... and then the light extinguished! Congratulations! You caught yourself a Zigzagoon! Before you had time to celebrate, you heard a noise coming from behind you. The bush nearby you was.... moving? Maybe there was a wild Pokemon inside! Also, there was an old lady walking down the road humming to herself. She had two Pokeballs at her waist, which signified she was a trainer! You could choose to investigate the wild Pokemon, challenge the elderly woman, or do something else entirely! It's all in your hands! | ||

Elizabeth shivered as a cold wind blew through her coat. She quickly recalled Van Gouh and picked up Zigzagoon's Pokeball and stuck both in her inside coat pockets. She tried to hurry along, but the rustling of something else near her caught her attention before she saw the older lady. Her choices were fairly clear, face the unknown shaking, face the older woman, or ignore them both and continue into the city. The only issue, Elizabeth didn't like when things creep up on her like the thing in the bush was. She knew not everything was nice, but she didn't know if she should risk seeking out the cause of the disturbance on her own. She slowly made her way towards the older woman. She wanted to at least greet and acknowledge the elderly woman to be polite, but having another person around helped to comfort Elizabeth, even when she didn't know the woman. "Ma'm? Hello. Excuse me, but could you be so kind as to help me out. I fear something is following me and I'm not used to this island, nor do I feel safe alone. My Pokemon aren't very strong and I'm afraid of having to fight something my Pokemon may not be able to defend against. Can you please help me?" Elizabeth didn't like how she sounded, but she told the truth. She really didn't know if Van Gouh or Zigzagoon could fight against what may be behind the bush if there was a fight waiting. The woman would undoubtedly be a veteran Pokemon trainer. She felt safer with the woman rather than on her own. |

The rustling was too scary to face so you decided to rely upon an old woman to protect you...that's the problem with aristocracy, things were different to how us ordinary class worked, we had been told not to speak to strangers. Anyway maybe this old lady would help you in your dire situation...from a rustling bush. "Oh my dear don't be alarmed...a rustling bush simply hides wondrous things like oh so beautiful pokemon, or the cold wind carries items and berries that fall into bushes. They aren't something to hide from, they are just another adventure. Anyway you look freezing, why don't you come back to my cottage, it's only up the road, I'll put some tea on, my pokemon could use a good stretch as well." The old lady explained, as she pulled out both pokeballs and a Snover and Machop appeared. The Snover knew instinctively what to do and used a Razor Leaf on a nearby tree, cutting it small logs. Machop then began to gather them and carried the mass weight back over to where you both were standing. "My darling pokemon are so wonderful, so strong. They help keep an old lady like me warm during this blistering weather. As I said, my cottage is just up the path here, wouldn't you join me?" She finished as her pokemon prepared to carry the items back...it's up to you what you do...but like I said earlier, would you trust a stranger? She may offer you a place to stay and a nice meal...or she may have other plans for you. It was up to you, you could always reject the offer and continue on your way...maybe find a nice place to shop...you gals really do love to shop. |

Elizabeth was amazed at the strength of the elder woman's Pokemon. It brought her back to the day she first met Van Gouh. A memory that doesn't give Elizabeth warm and fuzzy feelings, but everything after that moment had been peaceful and exciting. Elizabeth took one more look at the bush and then brushed the loose snow from her coat. She eye'd the Snover and Machop and then returned her full attention to the older woman. "You have very lovely companions. You must love them a lot to be able to raise them to such levels that they can take out a tree like that." Elizabeth adjusted her coat after a small breeze seeped through a gap in the front and sent shivers through her body. "And yes, I would love to accompany you to your cottage. A nice warm place to rest would be lovely." Before Elizabeth could make a move, Van Gouh popped out of his Pokeball. He felt uneasy allowing Elizabeth to follow the woman on her own and wanted to be outside to protect her just in case. He owed Elizabeth just as much as she thinks she owes him. He would protect her from anything. Elizabeth giggled and held out her hand. Van Gouh reached up and the two walked beside the woman. "Please. Lets be on our way shall we? |

Right! So! Random old lady and seemed to be friendly. I’m sure some kind of sadistic Japanese horror film would have her turn into some kind of ghoul or something. But, let’s get on with the ref. Leading the way at your request, the lady, along with her Snover and Machop, led you and your Smeargle to her quaint little cottage that was, as she said, just down the road. Opening the door and letting everyone inside, you would step into a nice little house that was quite warm opposed to the chilly temperature from outside. Her Machop put the logs near the fireplace and began feeding them in as the old lady put the kettle on for a nice cup of tea. She sat the sugar, a petite jug of milk, and a teacup before you on the table before retrieving the kettle and setting it too on the table. Tea was ready, apparently. Her Machop was stretching and getting comfortable in front of the fire, and her Snover made itself busy by cleaning up the small flakes of wood that littered the floor from their haul. Van Gouh stood close to you, playing the silent protector of sorts before the old lady smile at him. She pulled out another chair so he too could sit beside you at the table if he so wanted. “So tell me deary, what brings you out on a cold day like today, hm?” The old lady sat down opposite you and poured herself some tea from the kettle, offering it to you if you hadn’t already helped yourself to the tea. Swirling a spoonful of sugar into her beverage, she sighed out a relaxed breath, looking at you calmly and awaiting your response. “If you need directions, I’d be more than happy to guide m’dear.” |

Elizabeth took in the sight of the small, cozy home. Not as grandoise as what she was used to seeing, but this wasn't Golderia where most of the homes were large and full of rich people. The quaint little house intriqued Elizabeth. "This place is very lovely Ma'm. Do just you and your Pokemon take care of it by yourselves?" Elizabeth asked as she watched the Snover clean the floor where they came in. Her Pokemon were very well trained if they could do chores like these two were. Elizabeth took the tea and asked for two lumps of sugar. Stirring and taking a few testing sips, she made herself comfortable in the chair she swat in. "I'm just traveling around. Pokemon intrigued me greatly after I was saved by Van Gouh. I wanted to travel around after looking up some trainer websites and want to have more little friends like Van Gouh. I did manage to catch one right before, but the cute little darling is just too hyper. I was afraid he'd get hurt if I had to battle too soon." Elizabeth took a few more sips and Van Gouh moved closer to sniff the tea. He seemed enticed by the aroma. As Elizabeth had spoken of her Zigzagoon, the little fuzz ball popped out of his Pokeball and started to run around the room. "Oh my! Dear don't make a mess...no please stay off the Table...Van Gouh Catch him." Elizabeth jumped from her seat and set the tea cup down and with Van Gouh started to chace the little Zigzagoon around the room. Van Gouh caught him and held him around the stomach. The Zigzagoon stopped trying to break Van Gouh's grip and started to just lick him. "I am sorry. I was hoping to get directions to Shimo's Pokemon Center. From there I was going to map out where to head next after stocking up on a few supplies. If you know the fastest route I'd be gracious." Elizabeth courtsied and Van Gouh bowed with Zigzagoon in his hands. They were both trying to apologize to the woman for Zigzagoon's actions. |

The old woman sighed in content. "Don't worry about it, darling. Here; I bet if you gave him some tea he would calm down a little bit." She went into her kitchen and brought back a bowl of tea, with a small cup of milk that she poured in with it. When she set it down, your Zigzagoon broke free and went for the tea. He drank in gulps, then jumped back as the taste got to him, but as he realized it tasted good, he drank some more. Van Gouh looked on in curiosity as the magical juices made the Zigzagoon heavy-lidded. "Now hold on one moment; let me go get my map." The old lady left the room for the moment. Van Gouh moved to sit by you instead of next to the Machop. The Machop looked at you two and then decided to lie on the ground and go to sleep. The Snover disappeared with the old lady. After a few moments of quiet sipping noises from Zigzagoon and the crackling of fire, the old lady came back with a rather old map. "Now then, Nogou is here, and Shimo is... Oh dear! That's far! Well dear, they are on different islands, so you would have to make your way to Millenia and get on the ship to Shimo." It was time to go, I guess. You could stay a little longer too if you wanted to though... |

Elizabeth started to pet the gentle, yet coarse fur oh her Zigzagoon as the woman pulled a map out. The little Raccoon dog seemed to finally calm down enough that he wouldn't wreck the place. Even Van Gouh sat down beside him and Elizabeth. For Van Gouh to relax meant that he didn't feel that they were in danger. Elizabeth tried to make mental note of their location on the grand scale and started trying to plot out where to go next. Best choice seemed to be Peddleton. It was still a bit far, but that was where the first Pokemon Gym was. Elizabeth could at least try to take on the league. She read that the Trainer's goal was to conquer the Pokemon League and become Champion. "Thank you very much Ma'm. I think I have a set destination now. I'm going to try and head to Peddleton from the Ferry. That should be a decent start. I can train around there and take on the first gym I believe." Elizabeth started to grab her things and recalled her Zigzagoon but left Van Gouh out for the moment. "Thank you for the Tea. I'll try and stop by again when I come back to Shimo. You've been a great help to me." Elizabeth curtsied and made her way to the door. |

Shimo City Outskirts of Town It took the old lady a moment as you made your way to the door, before she spoke up. "Now, hold on a moment, deary. I think I might have given you the wrong information. Silly me, I often forget things sometimes." The old lady stood up and proceeded over to you with a different map. The one she had shown you before was a map of the entire Region, however the one she held in her hands now was a more specific one, detailing Shimo City and the surrounding areas. "You said you wanted to get to the Shimo Pokemon Center, yes?" She held up the map with one hand for you to see, and with her free hand she began indicating where her cottage was on the map, and where Shimo City was located. "There's an unlisted path the runs from a nearby location here, directly into Shimo City. Once you get there, you can ask around for where the Pokemon Center is. The only problem is, you have to find the path yourself. I don't remember how far, but its about east from here. You'll know it when you see it." The lady closed the map, and smiled at you. "My name's Delilah, feel free to stop by whenever you wish, you're welcome here anytime." You returned the smile, thanked her, but whether you gave her your name or not was your business. With your new found information, you and Van Gouh left the cottage, and proceeded out into the chilling weather. Now to look for the path. Van Gouh, seemed to know where it was and began pulling you along, leading the way. With Van Gouh's guidance, you soon found yourself at the path Delilah had spoken about. How did you know? Well.. there was a sign on a tree that read "Shimo City" and had an arrow pointing in the direction of the town. Now you just had to follow the path, and you'd be in Shimo City to resupply and be on your way to Peddleton Gym. As the both of you turned to head in the direction of Shimo City, you were greeted with the presence of a Teddiursa. Perhaps "greeted" wasn't the right word. He seemed mad, almost territorial. Perhaps the tree had some of his stored food inside and he felt you were stealing it. Whatever his reasons were, he seemed ready to attack you and Van Gouh. But, what were you going to do? You could apologize and try to run off, or you could battle it and capture it, or if you didn't want it, you could always battle it for the experience. Didn't you want to take on Peddleton Gym? You were definitely going to need a new Pokemon, or even the experience to make your own stronger. The choice was yours. Better decide quick though, it looks like Teddiursa could pounce at any moment. Lv 6
