Laughing at clouds, so dark up above
Millenia

Leaping right into the action, Wingull was first to strike, as it expelled a sharp blast of sound (That you couldn't actually hear) at the female Spinarak. The burst echoed, concentrated and well produced, in her ears and to her brain, before she recoiled and fell onto her abdomen. Her eyes glazed over in what had to be labelled confusion, as the move proved itself to be successful. Now she was potentially invalid, and momentarily stunned.

The female, consequently, failed to initiate any kind of retaliation. And where she once might have been intending to unleash a Poison Stings on her opposition, brutally launching a collection of poisonous barbs into them, she instead settled for rubbing her face against the floor. Then she slammed her head onto the concrete, like a boss. Spinarak hurt itself in its confusion.

Following in Wingull's footsteps, Meditite had identified his opponent, in the form of Spinarak number two, and started his Confusion. At the same time, it had launched a Poison Sting at the bird Pokemon, looking to defend the female from Wingull. Sister, better half or co-worker, the relationship was irrelevant, for he seemed determined to protect her; even if it meant taking a mental assault. Which it did. Painfully. He wriggled his little legs frantically, as weird image after distorted colour mass after weird image after naked old man skinny-dipping flashed into his head. It hurt, but he wasn't going to go cuckoo just yet, and fought off any effects of confusion. For now.

Meditite having fully executed the attack, turned to the confused female, looking now to damage her. This was where he found she had disappeared; in her space there was a gentle breeze of dust, and probably a little bit of bug blood from slamming her own nose into the floor, but absolutely no sign o- OMG SHE'S ON HIS FACE AAAAA. The female had had just enough lucidity to attempt her second attack, catching Meditite as his first finished, and latching onto his face. She hooked her legs around his ears, and jabbed her poisonous stinger into him, connecting with his chest. This made a Confusion very difficult.

Wingull, in the meantime, had been struck by the male's attempts to defend his battle partner, the Poison Stings doing passing damage to him, and knocking him low. The water type retaliated, launching his Supersonic at the male, who was just recovering from the previous attack by Meditite. The sound just didn't affect him quite like it had his friend, leaving the attack unsuccessful. And the round over.

Things just went from bad to worse, even though it seemed like they were winning. Chris wasn’t expecting the female to latch onto Meditite so quickly or at all for that matter. He just thought that it would be confused enough that taking it out would be easy. Unfortunately it was too confused, latching onto Meditite like that was the most common thing to do. But the good news was that it was in the prime attacking position.

Pointing at the male Spinarak, Chris gave his first orders to Wingull. “Wingull, use Water Gun and keep its’ attention away from Meditite. Keep using it, but try and avoid the Poison Sting.” If he could keep the male focused on Wingull, then Meditite should be able to get the female off with little difficulty. He raised his voice so the psychic/fighting Pokemon could hear him.

“Meditite, use Confusion as strong as you can. Direct it towards the one on your face, and then Strike it off after the attack.” If Meditite succeeded in the Confusion, then the female Spinarak should loosen its’ grip from the damage. That would give the psychic/fighting type the chance to throw it off and hopefully knock it out.

Chris rushed around the fight that was going on, approaching the Glameow from the front. He didn’t approach too close, knowing that an injured and trapped Pokemon would most likely defend itself. Instead he kneeled before it to show he wasn’t a threat, and began to look at the injuries it sustained. He might have to take it back to the Pokemon Center once this battle is over.

Actions: Ordered Wingull to use Water Gun on the male Spinarak and keep it off of Meditite. Shouted to Meditite to use Confusion at close range, then Strike the female off its’ face. Approached the Glameow from a distance and kneeled.

Millenia - Streets

Though the outcome of your heroic antics remained to-be-determined, it seemed that the battle for Glameow's life was going well for you... Or rather, it was going as well as could be expected when one of your Pokemon had a loopy Spinarak attached to its face, and the other was squirting jets of water at the spider's partner like there was no tomorrow. My suggestion would have been to send out your own Spinarak to try to reason with the bullies, but we leave those choices to you, I suppose. Anyways, with your shouted orders acknowledged by Meditite and Wingull, it was time to begin Round 3 of Chris Seenter vs. Injustice.

Your WIngull was the first to act, and opened its beak to release a torrential jet of water summoned from God-knows-where. The Water Gun served its intended purpose; it struck the male Spinarak head on, and in addition to slightly disorienting it and doing damage, the attack succeeded in diverting its attention. Being sprayed on by a bird will do that to a fellow. The male was surprisingly quick to retaliate: though it was no longer paying as much attention to beating the crap out of Meditite for harming its partner, it wanted to do some damage of its own to its assailant. The resultant String Shot was fired quickly from the spider's abdomen, and the sticky silk threads that wrapped Wingull's wings both slowed it down and skewed its flight pattern. Wingull was now drifting into a downward spiral in its struggle to free itself from the goo, and it couldn't be too good for the bird's health if he crashed headlong into the ground, which appeared to be imminent...

On the other side of the battle, your Meditite was faring a little better against its opposition. The female Spinarak, who had so wonderfully perched upon the meditating child's forehead, attempted to fire off a Poison Sting point-blank. She reared back, aimed those disgusting clicking pincers, and... was bombarded by a painful series of distorted and disgruntling mental pictures. It was as if a cacophony of colors, sounds, and images had exploded in the arachnid's mind, disorienting it even more than its Confused state had already done. Its grip on Meditite's face did loosen as intended, and the final Strike -- combined with the fact that she again bashed herself in the face trying to harm her opponent -- resulted in one very unconscious Spider Pokemon. Looks like the RNG really likes you, kid.

Amidst all the exciting awesomeness of the battle raging between your Pokemon and the rogue spiders, you decided to check on the Glameow that had been the spark to instigate all this commotion. The kitty was still struggling with the hard and quickly drying goo that draped her lithe body, and she had definitely sustained some major injuries, but she still had more than enough fighting spirit to hiss at you as you approached and knelt down. She didn't appear to be actually unfriendly, but she would probably take some coaxing to allow you near her. Maybe some kind words would help?

Looking up, Chris noticed that his Pokemon pretty much won the fight. The female Spinarak was knocked out, and the male was badly injured. Continuing the battle would be pointless, so he called to his Pokemon. “Wingull, Meditite. Stop attacking and come over here. Don’t attack unless Spinarak attacks first, and keep an eye on him.”

Turning his attention to the remaining spider Pokemon, Chris fixed a serious look on it. “Take your friend and leave. Or else we’ll knock you out like her.” Chris hoped that the Spinarak would take his advice. He didn’t like hurting Pokemon for the joy of it, yet he knew that some battles couldn’t be avoided. Those were fighting against another trainer, or fighting to protect something. And since it was obvious that they were protecting the Glameow, Chris hoped the bug Pokemon would back off.

Looking back at the Glameow that was tangled up, Chris’s expression softened to a calming look. “It’s alright; we’re not going to hurt you. We’re here to help. We won’t let those Spinarak hurt you.” He kept his distance as his Pokemon were coming over. Approaching would only make the cat Pokemon defensive, so he kept his distance. He lowered his hand onto the ground with the palm up, and slowly moved it towards Glameow. He intended to let it catch his sent in a non aggressive setting, and halted his hand whenever the cat like Pokemon was defensive (ie: hissing).

Actions: Called off the attack and called Meditite and Wingull to come protect Glameow. And not to attack unless attacked. Then gave Spinarak an ultimatum, and proceeded to try and gain the Glameow’s trust.

The remaining Spinirak frowned as you ordered it not to attack. The nerve of you! It fired a string shot your way, which caught your arm and wrapped around it from your wrist, holding up by being attacks to your tricep. It almost looked like a sling asif you had broken your shoulder.

You had ordered your pokemon to attack if Spinirak does not let up, but not given any specific orders as to how to attack. Wow, I could actually be a pretty bad asshole, yet pretty reasonable and not have your pokemon attack.. Or, I could be nice and give you the benifit of the doubt..

Both your pokemon flung themselves at the Spinirak at your aid and delivered finishing blows. Game, set, and match! Your welcome, by the way. With that, your pokemon returned to you as you set out for trying to help this poor Glameow.

The feline pokemon lightly meowed towards you. Not in a menacing way, but asif she was calling out for you to help her. Her left paw twitched towards you, she needed some dire help and she was so desperate as to let a human do what it wanted with her. So, now you know she isn't going to be menacing towards you, hurry up and help the poor thing!

Chris wasn't surprised when the Spinarak attacked him, though he was a little disappointed. He hoped it was smart enough to know when it was beaten. He didn't struggle when it began to wrap his arm up. Instead he looked towards his Pokemon, who leaped into battle the one who attacked him. It was over before the poor bug could blink.

Tearing away at the 'sling', Chris looked down at his two partners. They had both done an exceptional job, and he was proud of them. "You did a grey job you two." Wingtip stood proudly, as if there was no doubt. Meditite seemed to accept the praise in his usual calm manner, however it slightly blushed at the praise.

The meow caught Chris's attention, and he looked down at the still trapped Glameow. He took a step forward and kneeled down slowly as to not frighten her. He spoke in a calming voice and let her know his intention. "Alright, I'm going to start working on your back end and work my way up." He knew from experience with his parents work that it was always best to start from the least dangerous area. That way if he made a mistake he was less likely to get a claw or a fang.

Meditite approached after a moment and began to slowly help as well. Wingtip however just stood guard, looking towards any and all odd noises for trouble. "Alright, after we free you let's bring you to the Pokemon Center and get you checked out. You don't have to if you don't want to, but I would feel better if you were healed before you strike out on your own." In truth Chris would have liked to have the cat like Pokemon as a partner, but not like this. Better to let her go.

So you began to help the Glameow out of it's predicament...it was trapped almost head to toe in the stupid, sticky String Shot. Carefully unravelling it, the Glameow shrieked as some of her fur was ripped out. Not a lot so don't worry too much, but enough for some blood to reveal. Anyway, the pokemon was free now, but was pretty injured and needed medical assistance. Taking it into the pokemon centre as any caring trainer would do, the Nurse Joy had a pretty easy time fixing the little cat back up. The paw wasn't broken or anything, it was just sprained and needed a bandage and some rest. The Nurse handed the Glameow back to you but looked sad. She knew it wasn't yours, and that it would probably end up going back to the streets, hungry. But Glameow had other plans.

She jumped out of your hands and circled you, purring softly as she rubbed up against your leg. You were her hero. Her knight in shining armour if you will. If she could, she wanted your protection for awhile longer. Maybe she would even fight for you, once her paw was nice and healed up. For now the cat was yours if you really wanted her, so you were free to continue on your way.

Now you were basically where you were not too long ago. Walking out the pokemon center, ready to move on. I doubt you need any more interruptions, so I'm going to leave you to your own devices. Millenia can be dull, but it has a nice dock...which can take you to many more interesting places. Or you can head out to some of the paths leading to other cities. Or you can explore this city a little more. There's no wild pokemon around at the moment. There are also few people on the streets. It is getting a little dark though, maybe they're all heading somewhere to sleep.

Looking down at his new friend, Chris reached down and petted the cat like Pokemon. While he was tempted to, he wasn’t going to catch it. Not just yet. It was still injured, and he didn’t want to accidentally send it out to battle where it could get hurt more. However he wasn’t going to leave it out in the cold, not after it had warmed up to him.

Glancing at the sky, Chris noticed that it was getting close to night time. He wanted to find more Pokemon and train his Pokemon some new moves, however it was getting too late. He would have to do it the next day. Looking down at the Glameow, Chris smiled and gestured towards the direction he was heading. “Come on, lets get something before we go home.” The little cat meowed as she followed Chris on his path, limping on her injured paw. After a time Chris began to carry when she fell behind a few times.

His first stop was the Poke’Mart on his way home. He walked in with the cat Pokemon in his arms, as he headed right for the Pokeballs. He picked out three of them, knowing he had three empty ones still in his backpack. He walked over to the counter and paid for them ($180). Once he had them, he walked out of the store and placed them in his backpack with his other three.

Tomorrow he was going to walk outside of town and try and catch two Pokemon he knew that would be nearby, as he had seen them before with his parents. They would be very helpful in teaching his Pokemon attacks, though he wished he could find a Magnemite. But the two he had in mind would be more than enough.

Walking home, Chris couldn’t help but admire the sites. He had lived in the city his entire life, and it was as much his home as the house he lived in. He knew of everyone that lived nearby, and had spent his time with his parents on the outskirts of the city. In truth he didn’t really want to leave, but he knew he had to. He knew that what he wanted to do couldn’t be found within the city, and that he would have to venture out into the world to make his dream come true. What that was….is a secret.

Opening the front door, Chris let down Glameow first. Already he could smell dinner cooking in the oven, one of the main reasons he still lived with his parents. Most kids would leave at the age of 18, and in a way Chris wanted to do the same. But without the Pokemon or resources required, he wouldn’t survive long enough to make his dream a reality. That and his mothers’ cooking was the best he ever had.

He put his bag next to a chair and pulled the Pokeballs containing his Pokemon out of the lining of his jacket. He then hung the jacket over the chair and proceeded into the kitchen. “Mom, I’m home.” Glameow followed him at his heels into the kitchen, where his mother Susan was busy over the stove. “Hi honey, your father won’t be in till tomorrow. A late night at the center.” Chris gave a nod as he gave his mother a hug. “Its’ alright. I was hoping he could help me with an idea, but I can put it off.”

His mother looked down at the cat Pokemon that seemed to be rubbing against Chris’s legs. “And who is this cutie?” Chris smiled and reached down to pick up Glameow. “She was being attacked by some Spinarak near the general shop next to the Pokemon Center. I think they might have been with the group I fought in the industrial area, but not too sure. Anyways, I took her to the Pokemon Center and they helped as much as they could. But she still has an injured paw, so I was hoping you could look after her.”

Susan looked concerned as Chris recounted his tale. “Yes, and those aren’t the first reports of the Spinarak. Apparently there were more attacks within the city.” Chris looked equally concerned, but temporarily pushed it from his mind. That was a problem for another day. “Well can you watch over Glameow for me.” Susan nodded.

Giving Glameow words of encouragement, Chris handed her to his mother. With the hands of a skilled Pokemon nurse, his mother looked the cat like Pokemon over carefully. She tested some of the areas above the paw to see if there were any broken ones, and then worked her way down slowly to the paw. With light touches, she determined how sensitive the area was and went to her kit. She spoke calmly to the Glameow, offering soothing words of encouragement as she began to wrap the paw. She did it in such a way that the Pokemon could walk on it easily with very little pain, and also to allow the best healing as possible. “That should do it.”

Glameow tested the bandage carefully before putting her full weight on it. It still hurt when she put most of her weight, but she could move a lot better than before. She meowed in gratitude, nuzzling Susan to show her appreciation.

“Well now that she’s taken care of, I guess I should bring out my other Pokemon.” Chris released the Pokemon that were inside his Pokeballs, and each appeared in their usual fashion. Wingull stretched his wings as if he was waking up from a nap. Meditite appeared in his usual meditative state of the Lotus position. However when Spinarak appeared, Glameow flipped. She immediately made a break out of the kitchen and into Chris’s bedroom where she proceeded to hide under the bed. Spinarak just stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face, and Chris looked at where the cat Pokemon disappeared to. “Guess I forgot to mention I caught a Spinarak….”

Spinarak looked at Chris with a confused look, and Meditite opened his eyes. Looking up at Chris, a small tendril of thought worked its’ way into Chris’s mind. ”I will go talk with her.” Chris suddenly looked around surprised, as this was the first time he had heard the voice. It seemed familiar, at least vocally. A mental image of him looking around, showed his where the image was coming from, as Chris looked down at Meditite and saw himself looking back. The psychic Pokemon gave a small grin, as if confirming Chris’s suspicions. “A-alright. Try and calm her down.” Meditite stood up, and headed for Chris’s room.

Chris just stood there dumbfounded for a moment before he turned to his mother. “Can Meditite communicate telepathically?” His mother just smiled, giving a nod. “Yes, I’m guessing this is the first time he has done so with you.” Chris could only nod dumbly. Susan smiled. “Don’t feel too comfortable with it. It’s outlawed in Pokemon battles.” He gave a nod as he listened to his mothers’ words. Even he knew that rule.

A few moments later Glameow returned with Meditite, giving Spinarak a wide berth before jumping onto the counter. Spinarak didn’t seem to pay her no mind, instead decided to lay down in one of the corners. It seemed he still wasn’t used to the ‘group’ yet, but so weren’t any of them. Save for Meditite. Wingull hopped onto one of the counters and gobbled a berry from a nearby dish. Susan hurried over and shooed the Pokemon onto the floor. “Dinner will be ready soon. Chris, why don’t you feed them while I finish our dinner.”

Opening up the pantry, Chris pulled out Pokemon food that they had for the various patients brought to the house. He pulled out four bowls and filled them according to the species, as his parents taught him. Some of the Pokemon required certain amounts to be physically fit, without so much that they would get fat. He separated them out in front of the Pokemon, showing each one which was theirs. “Alright, eat up.”

After dinner, Chris recalled Spinarak and Wingull to their Pokeballs. He left Meditite and Glameow out, the first because he was Chris’s partner and the second because Chris hadn’t caught Glameow yet. However the cat like Pokemon slept at the foot of Chris’s bed anyways, while Meditite meditated on a pillow nearby. Wishing them both a good night, Chris turned off the light and promptly fell asleep.

The next morning was more or less routine in the Seenter household. Chris fed his Pokemon before settling down to eat. With his father not there, breakfast was very quiet. His mother was getting ready to leave at the same time as Chris when he spoke up. “Mom, can Glameow stay here until she feels better. I don’t want her out on the street, and I don’t want to bring her with me with the chance of her getting more injured.” Susan looked at the cat Pokemon, and then gave Chris a nod. “Alright, but she’ll have to follow some ground rules. Also I’m not going to be looking after your Pokemon while you’re gone.” Chris gave a smile and a nod, giving his mother a hug before taking off down the street. Glameow watched Chris run for a moment, then went inside to explore her new home.

Out on the streets, Chris took a deep breath of the morning air. It was a beautiful day, a perfect day to catch more Pokemon. Opening up his jacket, Chris counted the Pokeballs he had stored on the inside. Three Pokemon, which meant he could catch three more to have a full team. He already had an idea for two of the Pokemon, but the third was a mystery to him. He’ll have to think about it later as he headed for the gate leading to Route 4. First Pokemon on his two Pokemon list, a fire type. And the easiest one to find was the quick Ponyta.

Actions: Looking for a fire type Pokemon, possibly Ponyta.

Millenia Town
Streets, near the Docks

Ah, there's absolutely nothing like a mother's love to fix you up right... or in this case, both you and your Pokemon. Susan was certainly a gracious host to the young, timid Glameow, and with a little bit of TLC (that's tender loving care), she was sure to have the little cat in fighting shape in no time. At that point, it would more or less be up to you whether or not you caught it, because it seemed pretty attached to you already. Any Pokemon that would sleep in a strange man's house, and in his bed while surrounded by his Pokemon that had just proven themselves to be excellent fighters no less, was a trusting one indeed. The night came and went quickly, and if you ask me, the simple fact that the Glameow didn't bolt once she had a nice meal and a good night's rest in her means that she likes you a lot.

Even still, you deemed that it would be necessary to leave her at home with your mother, at least for one more day until she can be completely recovered from her sprained forepaw. And so you set out; another day, another adventure. I noticed that you were hoping to catch a Pokemon, particularly a Ponyta. Well, Millenia Town is a water-side city, and a pretty urban one at that, so your chances of finding one here were slim-to-none, unfortunately. However, there were certainly an abundance of Pokemon to encounter here! As you meandered down the cobbled paths, there were many directions you could take if you so chose. A sandy path to the left could take you down to the beach, where Water-type Pokemon such as a cute little Bidoof and Corphish were replete; there were also many trainers sunbathing and playing with their own Pokemon, despite the early hour. Or, you could always just continue traipsing through the streets looking for something or someone to fight.

However, if you looked to your right, you would notice a curious scene indeed. What you would first take for a simple pile of icky gross-ness was actually a Grimer, sleeping as contently as could be. It was right at home, by a dumpster, snoozing away. However, it appeared that the Sludge Pokemon's sleep was soon to be interrupted, as a little prankster had sneaked up behind it. The Pokemon known as Dratt wasn't uncommon, but it was exclusive to this region, and could make an interesting addition to your team, if you chose to attempt a capture. Your choice, trainer!

Glancing around, Chris noticed several people already out by the beach. In a way he wished he could take a break from catching Pokemon, but at the same time he mentally chastised himself for being lazy. He had just started his journey in Pokemon yesterday, and he was still living with his parents. Why last night he just slept in his bed, and had his mom take care of a potential Pokemon partner. He couldn’t take a break now. However looking out at the people with their Pokemon, he couldn’t help but feel at least he could challenge them to a battle.

Chris shook the idea from his head and continued forward. He wasn’t ready to challenge another trainer, not until he had trained his Pokemon a little bit. And for that he needed the two types of Pokemon, maybe a third if he could find it. He glanced at the Bidoof and Corphish that skittered the beach, his mid trailing to the Wingull he had already caught. Right now he didn’t need another water type.

Glancing to his right, Chris noticed a familiar sight of a Grimer resting comfortably next to a dumpster. Giving a smile, the sight almost caused Chris to miss a Pokemon sneaking up behind the Grimer. It took Chris a few moments to realize what it was, and frowned in disgust. Between the two Pokemon, the Dratt sneaking up was the filthier Pokemon. He just couldn’t support a Pokemon that had a vice that bad, which only grew worse when they evolved. Many times his mother had to treat such Pokemon because they couldn’t control themselves, even with their training from their trainers. It was like the Pokemon went out of its’ way to cause trouble.

And that was what it was doing right now. Letting out a sigh, Chris slipped a small handful of food out of his backpack. He looked at the sneaking Pokemon, then at the Grimer that was sleeping. With a smooth motion, he tossed the food before the Dratt, away from the sleeping Pokemon. He then pointed a finger at the sneaky Pokemon. “Leave him alone.” With those words, Chris continued on his way. He didn’t want any trouble, and from what he knew and saw Dratts were definitely that. He headed for the path to Route 4, hoping to find a fire or an electric type outside of the city.

Actions: Did my best to distract a Dratt, and then headed for Route 4 to find a fire or electric Pokemon.

Life is not a fairytale and there are no happy endings.
:: Millenia town; moving onto Route 4

Cleverly done! As you threw the pokemon food towards the Dratt it stopped in its tracks. It looked down at the pokemon food, then back at you who told the mischevious pokemon to leave the sleeping Grimer alone. Dratt looked back at the grimer, and then back at the food and nodded. Before ofcourse, beggining to chow down on some free food.

With that, you didn't want to slow down any, and you didn't want trouble. So you carried on, moving towards route four. The sun was now rising in the sky, it was still fairly early but thankfully the sky was a clear blue, the air was fresh and the temperature was nice. Everything was set perfectly for you to find a fire type pokemon.

You began to head onto the path of route four, and it lead out of the sea-side town of Millenia. Tree's and bushes began to come quick and fast on each side of the path, as the hustle and bustle of a busy town began to dissapear behind. After tree's and bushes past, you looked beyond. Route four, and it was certainly gorgeous in the morning sun. Fields upon fields, the odd tree's here and there, and you could hear pokemon cries coming from each and every direction.

A small yellow pokemon ran infront of you, holding you up. It ran across the path, stopped, looked up at you and raised an ear, before slowly moving back off the patch and looking towards an open field. It looked back at you, wondering if you were going to bother it. "Pichuuuuu?"

Giving a smirk while watching the Dratt out of the corner of his eye, Chris turned his attention forward. He had averted one disaster already today, which meant he was allowed only two more if yesterday was any indication. He continued forward, slowly putting the city behind him as he began to venture out into the wild. This was the first time he was out of the city on his own, but he was confident he had learned well from his parents.

Straining his ears to the sounds of the fields, a smile crept to Chris’s lips. The sound of Pokemon was music to his ears, and for now none of them seemed to be in too much of a panic. It was a good day to try and find the ones he was looking for, and nothing was going to stop him from reaching that goal. At least that’s what he thought before a flash of yellow appeared in front of him.

Chris saw the Pichu crouching down in the middle of the road, slowly backing away at the sight of the human before him. The electric Pokemon was obviously wondering about the trainer, but most likely ready to bolt if it sensed danger. Letting out a sigh, Chris slipped Meditite’s Pokeball out of his jacket. He wanted an electric Pokemon, and Pichu and its’ evolutions were strong electric types. But he wasn’t going to catch a Pokemon that wasn’t willing to fight.

“Pichu, I challenge you for your freedom. If you win, you gain bragging rights that you beat a human trained Pokemon. But if I win, then you fight for me as a human trained Pokemon.” Chris tossed the Pokeball on the ground, calling forth his psychic friend. As always, Meditite appeared in his meditative state with his legs crossed and his arms lying across them.

Chris pointed at the Pichu, speaking in a calm voice to show his sincerity. “You can refuse; I won’t blame you or attack you. I leave the choice up to you.” Meditite opened his eyes and slowly stood up, showing that he was of the same mind as Chris. He won’t attack Pichu unless it agreed to the fight, and he was ready to defend himself if the Pichu decided on a preemptive strike.

Closing his eyes, Chris tried to project his thoughts towards Meditite like he did to Chris. Chris wasn’t sure if the Pokemon was listening, but he didn’t want Meditite to go unprepared. ”If it attacks with an electric attack, use Bide and charge the energy for retaliation. But if it tries to attack head on, side step and hit with a Strike.” Feeling a tendril of thought appear in his mind, Chris opened his eyes with a smile. His Pokemon understood.

Actions: Challenged Pichu to a battle. Telepathically gave Meditite commands if Pichu accepted.

Ah, Pichu. Notoriously adorable, cuddly, amicable creatures…many a fangirl has fantasized about owning this Pokemon once or a hundred times right before drifting off to sleep. In the wild they tended to be pretty timid beasts, but their intelligence is also duly recorded in the writ of scientific examination. This particular Pichu just seemed torn as to whether it wanted to bolt towards the field, or actually hear what you had to say. Luckily for you, it decided on the latter, and now it was time to see whether it fell under the category of “friendly” or “rabid.”

Upon seeing your Meditite the small mouse froze on the spot. It did not like the looks of you calling out another Pokemon so soon after seeing it, nor did it care for the fact that Meditite had a huge advantage in size if thing got nasty. Meditite, sensing the Pichu’s fear and not wanting to force it to retaliate, stopped his advance and slowly curled his legs up underneath him again. This gave the electric rodent a chance to realize that if Meditite truly wished it harm, he could do some damage from afar simply through his telekinetic prowess. “Pichuuu..?”

To you, what happened next seemed to make it clear that this encounter would not end without a battle: the Pichu stood straight up on its’ hind legs, looked between you and your Meditite, and almost visibly steeled itself for an approach. It burst into motion with lightning speed, running up almost to your Meditite before you could react. It stopped short, braced itself and…reached a tiny, super cute paw out and grabbed on to your Meditites’ foot, almost tugging. Apparently, it wished to play in the field with your Pokemon, and not battle you after all! Your Meditite had intrinsically understood that the creature was going to be quick to attempt to flee at the first sign of hostility, and so just hovered there, allowing the unbelievably kawaii moment to continue in front of you, awaiting a decision from your behalf.

(Ooc-You are evil. Only someone truly evil can fight that.-Ooc)

Chris braced himself for what might be a fight between the Pokemon. Like Meditite, he thought the Pichu would flee as well. Which wouldn't have been bad, he would have just continued on his way. What he didn't expect was what happened next.

Once they realized the Pichu wanted to play, both Chris and Meditite relaxed. Chris let out a sigh, and then glanced at the field that Pichu was headed for. It was decent size, and would allow Chris to continue his search while the Pokemon played. Meditite just sat there looking from Pichu to Chris and back again, waiting for orders.

With a wave of his hand Chris agreed. "Go ahead. But stay within sight." Meditite smiled for a moment before finally following the Pichu. Chris watched for a moment, and then headed for the field. He kept his eyes open for Pokemon and watched his Meditite. He still needed a fire type and an electric type, since it seemed Pichu was more interested in playing than fighting.

Actions: Let Pichu play with Meditite and looking for a fire or another electric type in the field.
