Watching the battle unfold, Chris could only feel more and more anxious. He was feeling excited that they were winning, at impossible odds against them. But he also knew that being over confident could lose them this battle, and even worse seriously injure Meditite. So he swallowed his anticipation and forced himself into a cooler mind set, focusing on the battle. “Good job Meditite. Get behind him and attack with Nidoran at the same time.” If they could knock out the weaker one quickly, then they could focus on the stronger one with little worries. Chris’s hand twitched, fiddling with the Pokeball that was enlarged and ready to capture. He didn’t want to catch any of these Pokemon, at least not yet. Maybe he’d save it for the stronger bug, but right now the weaker one was still too strong for the device. Best to know it out and then work on the stronger one. “Watch out for the Poison Sting.” His mind shifted to the Pokemon he left at the Pokemon Center, and Chris immedietly felt a wave of worry. He left Wingull who was badly poisoned, and a Grimer that was injured and too scared of the world. He could only imagine the tortures the Pokemon went through before Chris found him, all over that Apricorn that it held in its' hands. Maybe other pokemon were trying to steal the item away from her, or maybe it was a keepsake from a Pokemon friend. Either way, the Pokemon was obviously really scared, and Chris hoped that the battle would be over soon so he could go and make sure bother were ok. Actions: Ordered Meditite to attack Spinarak with Nidoran in a pincer move, and to watch for the Poison Sting. Edited by Seenter, Nov 30 2010, 03:15 PM.

:: Millenia Town :: Your Meditite began to run a sort of half-circle around the Spinirak you had instructed your pokemon to attack. It got out wide and then began to swoop in from behind ready to attack. Your female Nidoran waited as its partner got into position before it too began to charge at the weaker spider. Instead of both pokemon getting to the Spinarak and colliding with it at the same time, Meditite was just a tad faster. It tackled into the arachnid and sent it backwards into the incoming Nidoran who dealt a strong blow to the spider from behind. The spider was bashed around like a bumper car, and it took off the ground slightly from both attacks before it crashed and rolled, before sliding and eventually stopping. Some serious damage there, shown by the fact Spinarak had fainted. Do you think the other Spinarak was going to stand there and watch you beat its last partner up? Oh no, and Gastly was already on the attack for it, flying at it through the air with its tounge ready to pounce. Unfortunately, the Spinarak seemed to gain some sort of confidence boost, making it more determined having seen its comrades fall. It quickly dodged your partners Gastly. And, as you had guessed, the spider sent out a barage of poison stings. You had ordered your pokemon to keep an eye out, and at the last second Meditite realised what was happening and elegantly rolled to the side to dodge, even though the attack was coming from behind. Unfortunately, the stings kept going and hit your Nidoran. However, doing very little damage. four down, one to go. Most of the bug Pokemon were already taken care of, leaving the strongest looking for last. The battle was almost finished, and Chris was glad to see the end. But they still had one more Spinarak to take care of, and he knew better than to get sloppy. He learned that from his parents while helping them with their research. Glancing over at the guy, Chris motioned towards the remaining bug. "Have Ghastly keep it distracted." He knew that the ghost Pokemon was one of the better ones to fight the Spinarak head on. Nidoran was too slow now, and Meditite was too injured. Turning his attention to the girl, Chris motioned with his left arm. "Have Nidoran attack from the left of the Spinarak." If they could limit the spider's movement then the battle would go a lot smoother. The good news was the Spinarak was moving slower because it was paralyzed, so they could in theory out manuver it. Finally turning his attention to Meditite, Chris motioned to the right of the bug Pokemon. "Meditite, attack from the right. Watch out for the Poison Sting, and strike as fast as you can." The psychic Pokemon gave a nod as it rushed for the remaining Spinarak. After watching the bug Pokemon use Poison Sting, Meditite should be able to read the movement, but Chris knew better than to assume. If the could take this last one out quickly, then that was good. He glanced down at the little girl who screamed before, wondering how she was holding up. Action: Asked that Ghastly keep the Spinarak distracted, Nidoran tonattack from the left and Meditite to attack from the right. Also warned about the Poison Sting. |

:: Millenia town This battle was coming to a close, but could your pokemon really muster up the power to take this Spinarak out here and now? That was the question. I won't bore you with an overly.. Boring post, so I'll get straight to the point. Your partner ordered his Gastly to move in first. The ghost pokemon floated over the spider, and sent a chilling lick down it from head to.. Bottom. The spider shuddered after recieving the attack, giving enough time for Nidoran and your Meditite to move in. Meditite was the quicker, still and struck the spider from the right. Dealing, some damage but don't expect an attack like that to be knocking a pokemon of a higher level unconcious. Nidoran followed the attack from your Meditite up attacking from the other side. Again, it did some damage, but not alot. The Spinarak winced in pain, and turned around to Meditite to fire another poison sting, which again your Meditite was able to dodge, however only just. You were definately dominating, but it was tough to cause a huge ammount of damage with such low level attacks. I would offer you some advice, but in all honestly I don't have the greatest deal to hand out. You could take one positive though, it was your Meditite who was dealing the most damage due to its ability and its attack increase. Watching the Pokemon surround the Spinarak, Chris could only wonder the outcome. While it was true they had the advantage, the bug could still pull something that would allow it to win. Chris kept his eyes open for any indication that it would do so. The Pokemon however were holding their own against the arachnid. The three strike combo hit hard, and the Spinarak was showing signs of being worn down. Meditite was really showing promise, despite it's injuries. However it looked like this battle was still only beginning. "Keep it up. Strike hard and fast, and watch for the Poison Sting." His left hand fidgeted with the empty Pokeball in his hand. He didn't want to waste it on a Pokemon he didn't want, but he also didn't want the battle to last longer than required. A Spinarak might be a good addition to his team. "Alright, after you attack give me a clear shot." He readied the Pokeball, waiting for the bug Pokemon to get weaker. Actions: Called out that everyone should attack again, then got ready to throw a Pokeball. |

:: Millenia Town ::The battle should be smooth right? A one of three fight most definately tips in your favour, however the god of pokemon was in a decidedly krabby mood, and wanted to be a meanie-bo-beanie just for the heck of it. What I mean to say is that the pokemon are weakened by the Spinarak, and the Spinarak had lost some of its allies, that sort of trauma had surged up in this pokemon incredible strength, and it was able to do something quite remarkable. The Spinarak heard your call for attacks on it, but it would have none of that, it shot a String Shot from its mouth, latched onto a nearby building and basically swung up the meet the wall, where it stuck with its spindly spider legs. It did a half turn to face down the wall and sat looking, it was well out of reach of both Nidoran and Meditite. Gastly was able to get at it though, he gave the little bug pokemon a lick and the spider flinched a little, but not enough to knock it from its roost. It was well clear of the other pokemon, so you decided to give your pokeball a shot. You threw it with some aiming and actually managed to hit the bug pokemon square on the back. Seems like your science past hid a baseball pitching skill, a great one as a matter of fact. The Spinarak disappeared inside the ball in a flash of light, and the pokeball fell to the ground. Where it clattered and rolled to a stop againt a crumpled and discarded cloth bag. It shook a few times, lay still for long enough for you to get your hopes up, then began shaking again, it went on like this for almost a minute. The red head boy was undoubtedly annoyed at how long this was taking, and he expressed this in words "Come on, how long does it take?" and folded his arms. As if taking some sort of cue, the pokeball did stop, and with a characteristic "bong" lay still. You waited a few more moments before triump erupted from the outdoors dressed woman "Woo, we did it!" she said punching the air, and indeed you had. Lv. 11 was captured.( Oh help me lord, calculating experience is always fun ¬_¬ ) gained 20 and grew to Lv. 8 with 7 remaining. gained 17.1 and grew to Lv. 9 with 2.1 remaining. gained 15 and grew to Lv. 9 with 7 remaining.Meditite learned Confusion (boy, that would have been helpful earlier) Nidoran learned Double KickSpinarak Exp Note to Mods Now that that little bit of math was overwith, lets get back to the ref. The outdoor dressed woman had produced a pokebal from here pocket and had thrown it at one of the remaining Spinarak, and had ended up capturing it. The red headed boy had simply returned his pokemon. "Thanks for your help, even though I could have taken them," he said with a scoff. "It would do you well to be nice to us, you could have been in a real pinch without our help," the outdoorsy woman said "Im Karen by the way." "Rufus," the red head said, "I guess you did help me alot." "Lets head the the Pokemon center and get out pokemon healed up, we can also check on that little girl, she ran off a while back," Karen stated, and began walking down the alley in the direction of the center. Rufus followed, would you do the same? I am guessing yes because of your Meditite. |

Picking up the Pokeball gently off the ground, Chris looked at it with a slight smile on his face. They had just completed a near impossible battle, and won. He almost couldn't believe it. Meditite however believed it, as he just fell over as soon as the ball stopped shaking. Chris rushed over to make sure the fighting Pokemon was alright, relieved when he found Meditite awake and just exhausted. After a battle like that, who wouldn't. “You did a great job.” Glancing over at the other two, Chris couldn't help but shake his head at the boy. If Ghastly was his only Pokemon, then even the ghost type would have a hard time against so many Spinarak. But if he wanted to be cocky, then so be it. When they began introducing each other, Chris stood up holding Meditite with a smile. "I'm Chris. Thank you for your help, and glad I was able to as well." Looking around, Chris couldn't see where the little girl disappeared to. The young woman mentioned she already took off, so Chris figured she used that chance to head back to the Pokemon Center. He figured that they should at least let her know that the bugs were taken care of. Exchanging the newly used Pokeball with Meditite’s, Chris called back the worn out Pokemon. He slipped it inside his jacket with a smile. The little Pokemon did good. “Ya, let’s get these guys healed.” He glanced at the remaining Spinarak that were knocked out. He’d let his parents know so they could return them to outside the city. He then followed the other two towards the Pokemon Center. |

Millenia Town Pokemon Center Well first off, I'd like to say congratulations on your victory against the odds. Its never an easy thing to fight a battle while outnumbered, but you did and came out on top, and your already injured Meditite hadn't fainted. Truly, he was a remarkable Pokemon. However, you were right, you had to get back to the Pokemon Center to check on the Grimer and Wingull, as well as the little girl from before. The walk to the Pokemon Center was a moderate paced one, the three of you weren't running, but you weren't at a crawl either. It was a rather awkward walk though, everyone seemed to be silent for now, unsure of what it was they should say, surprisingly enough the red haired boy, Rufus, had no words - you think with his cocky attitude he would have. After a few minutes, the Pokemon Center was once again in sight, and as the three of you neared it, the little girl from before came running out to greet her three saviors, tears still in her eyes. Her Pokemon was healed, but her concern was on how the three of you were, and your Pokemon. In a snap, Rufus spoke, giving the little girl a thumbs up. "Everything went fine. Didn't I tell you I'd win?" There it was, his ego again. Rufus walked passed the little girl and into the Pokemon Center, while Karen held the little girl's hand and walked in after, you following last. Rufus handed his Gastly over to Nurse Joy, and Karen handed her Nidoran and the Spinarak, however when you made your way over, the Nurse remembered you from your burst into the care center before. "Hey there, the two Pokemon you gave me before are healed." She was furious, but the little girl had explained the entire situation, and the Nurse managed to put pieces together and her anger subsided. You handed her your Pokemon. "We made quite a good team, didn't we?" spoke Karen. Rufus interjected soon after. "Yeah, I guess we did." The little girl, who was still holding Karen's hand spoke up once again. "Thank you for saving me. I really appreciate it. My name's Hailey." And once again the introductions took place, Karen and Rufus stating their name. Not long after, did Nurse Joy return with the seven Pokeballs. Rufus took his Gastly back, Karen received her Nidoran and Spinarak, and the remaining four were your Meditite, Wingull, Spinarak and Grimer. "Well, I'm off. Catch ya later guys" spoke Rufus as he walked out of the Pokemon Center, giving a slight wave before he disappeared into the town. "He's a bit egocentric, isn't he?" giggled Karen, before she smiled at you and waved. "Hopefully we'll meet again someday. C'mon Hailey." Hailey waved to you as well, showing her appreciation once more, then they two disappeared. Seemed like Karen was going to ensure Hailey got home safely. Well, now you stood in the Pokemon Center all by yourself. What would you do? You still had the Grimer and Wingull.. who knows what your plans for them were going to be. There was also that Spinarak you had recently captured. If you wanted to be the cool guy, you could always run ahead and catch up with Karen to be a "protector." Regardless, with the little girl incident resolved, you now had options - the question was, what option would you choose? Hope this was to your liking. Turns out your profile wasn't updated accordingly, I'll handle that for you. Also fixed the fact that with 20 EXP, Meditite would grow to level 9, with 3.3 EXP remaining. Fixed. If I missed anything, let me know or another staff and we'll fix it. Edited by Tari, Dec 8 2010, 08:18 PM.

Looking down at the Pokemon Nurse Joy handed him, Chris could only smile. It looked like they would all be alright, and he had nothing to worry about. He was really worried about Meditite during the battle, but was extra relieved when the Pokemon held his own and came out ok. He smiled as he looked down at the Pokeball, then slipped the capture spheres into the inside of his jacket. His hand stopped at the Pokeball that contained Grimer and hovered for a moment, as if debating what to do. Finally he withdrew it and looked up at Nurse Joy. "Actually can you release it for me? I only caught it so it could be healed, I don't want it when it doesn't want me." That was actually what Chris planned from the start when he was forced to fight it. It was only protecting the Apricorn, and obviously fought to keep it safe. It would be wrong to keep the poison type against its' will. |

MILLENIA TOWN pokémon center You seriously went several rounds with your only pokémon at 5hp, huh? Man, the powers-that-be are soft. It's a shame I have no real means to invoke the less pleasant side of karma! Getting back to the present, the nurse looked at you with an odd expression as you explained your wishes for the Grimer. Perhaps she really had been wrong to be angry at you, for you seemed like a pleasant, well-meaning boy. It wasn't completely unheard of for people to bring wild pokémon to be healed, and she supposed that Grimers were quite hard to transport 'normally'. It was actually quite noble of you, what you were doing, so she nodded and took the ball from you. After a quick disappearance into the back room, she emerged still brandishing a pokéball, which she then gave back to you. "Your empty ball," she said, continuing just in case you cared enough about the pokémon's wellbeing beyond this point. "The Grimer is currently in a temporary ball, and should be back in the wild by tomorrow, midday." Smiling, she pointedly glanced behind you at the queue which had begun to form. "Is that all?" In fact... let's take a moment to observe this queue. Not only had it formed in no time at all, but each of the five members of it were... physically carrying or dragging their exhausted pokémon with them. This may have been normal behaviour for some trainers who preferred not to use pokéballs, but it seemed entirely bizarre for you to encounter five all at once. Plus, considering that a few of them had more than one pokémon - and one of the taller guys was in the sticky situation of possessing a bulky Kangaskhan - it was just plain impractical. Amongst the fainted and near-fainted pokémon was a Poliwag, Zubat, Starly, Drowzee and Natu, to name a few. Perhaps it would also be interesting to you to see the large number of them which seemed to be suffering from Poison, and that the most common 'injury' were two small holes, much like insect bites and stings. It seems the previous incident with the Spinarak wasn't an isolated one. But why were people missing their pokéballs? Do you care, or are you tired of the poison pokémon? You do have one in your possession... but is it worth investigating? Upon noticing the strangeness of the situation, the nurse shooed you aside in order to begin the difficult process of healing many non-pokéballed pokémon, deeply wishing she hadn't been the only one on duty right now. |

Stepping to the side, Chris looked at the Pokemon being brought it. The injuries seemed to be consistent with the Poison Stings of the Spinarak he fought. Maybe a larger group of bug Pokemon came into the city and broke into smaller groups. Whatever it was, more and more Pokemon were being injured as a result. Unfortunately that wasn’t Chris’s only problem, and this seemed less important than Chris’s problem. The fight against the Spinarak showed him a huge weakness in Meditite’s fighting, one that needed to be resolved quickly. Sighing he looked at his Poketech and brought up the Pokedex function. He looked over moves that his fighting/psychic Pokemon could learn and began to read them. For a Pokemon that seemed to specialize in hand to hand combat, it sure had a lot of long range attacks. Its’ first physical attack wouldn’t be until Meditite was much stronger, but by then the little Pokemon could be in a much worse situation. No, Chris had to teach him a physical attack before then. Looking over some of the moves Meditite could learn if actually taught, Chris found four that seemed to be the most promising. At the top of the list it mentioned Fire Punch, which would have been extremely useful against the bug Pokemon Spinarak. That should be the first one that Chris teaches him. Glancing at Nurse Joy for a moment, Chris turned and headed out of the Pokemon Center. He headed for a convenience store and walked inside. With all the products on the shelves and behind the counter, Chris could find almost anything he needed for a trip. However right now all he needed was something simple, something he could use to teach Meditite the attacks. He grabbed a lighter from the counter and waited for his turn to pay for it. |

MILLENIA TOWN ~Streets Upon entering the store, you had to ring the bell on the the front desk several times. Normally the man who ran the store would have been extremely attentive to the customers, but he was busy watching playbacks from this year's Tournament of Ages. He was currently watching a battle between a Gastly and an Ekans, and only turned his head upon the fifth ringing of the bell. After you explained to him what you wanted, he raised an eyebrow and handed you the lighter. "Um, sure kid. That'll be $2. Now don't you go setting anything on fire now, y'hear?" The man's concern was probably genuine. After all, a teenager coming in to buy solely a lighter looking exhausted from your previous battles was probably not the most goody-two-shoes looking character. Now you had your lighter, and nothing would stop you from getting right on tutoring your Meditite. Except you heard a weird noise from around the corner. Turning your head in the direction, you saw two Spinarak's chasing what appeared to be a bruised and bloodied wild Glameow who was clearly injured. She seemed to have a good lead on them though, so there was a good chance she would escape. You could use this opportunity to help out the Glameow, finish it off for yourself, or just lay the smackdown on some Spinaraks. You could also just skip all that and get right to tutoring. (OOC-You guys never make this easy, do you? J-OOC) Giving the man a slight glare, Chris paid the money and put the lighter in his backpack. It wasn’t that he was actually planning on doing something so reckless, it was that he was being accused of it. He had worked plenty of times with his parent’s research, and some of it dealt with fire. He was completely well aware of the dangers of fire, and felt he was responsible enough to use it wisely. But glancing at his clothing on the way out the door, he could see why the man was cautious. Before he could go back in to apologize to the man for glaring at him, Chris heard a noise coming from around the corner. He was taken back at the spectacle that he saw, as two Spinarak were chasing a Glameow through town. By the looks of injuries on the cat like Pokemon, he guessed that it either fought them previously or was injured while escaping. Either way, it was two against one and Chris wasn’t happy with those odds. Slipping out two of his Pokeballs, Chris called forth two of his Pokemon. “Meditite, Wingull. Let’s help her out.” Wingull appeared first, taking to the air to stretch his wings. Meditite followed second, appearing in his natural meditative state. Pointing at the first Spinarak, Chris directed his Pokemon. “Wingull, use Water Gun on the first Spinarak and try to keep it from pursuing the Glameow.” Pointing at the second Spinarak he continued. “Meditite, you should be strong enough to use Confusion. Use it on the second one to stop it as well.” He then called out to both Pokemon. “Remember to watch out for their Poison Sting and String Shot.” He could only hope this was enough to keep them from getting hurt while protecting the fleeing Pokemon. Actions: Told Wingull to use Water Gun on the first Spinarak, and Meditite to use Confusion on the second. Also told them to watch out for Spinarak’s ranged attacks. |

Millenia Town Straight back into the throes of battle it would seem, for another situation required you to play hero. Or at least, it seemed like hero. There was every possibility that the Glameow had actually eaten these two Spinaraks' younger brother, whom may or may not have gone by the name Joseph, and enjoyed making silk stick figurines in his spare time. And that meant you might just be obstructing justice! Then again, who really cares? ON WITH THE SHOW! One of the Spinarak had launched his String Shot at the Glameow whilst you released your Pokemon, and the sticky webbing collected around the cat's legs, tying her up and causing her to tumble over. She wasn't hurt by the fall, but the other spider added to the inhibiting of the cat, further coating her in the white mess and leaving her practically unable to move. Bad as this was for her escape, it left them vulnerable to an attack from your Pokemon: Meditite struck first, Confusion hitting the female Spinarak for some crazy damage, and sending her recoiling in a bought of agony. She began to retaliate, turning to find her attacker sat calmly in its meditative state, before launching some Poison Needles at him. Your Pokemon, under orders, made an attempt to dodge what it knew was coming, but the attack had such pace that the evasion simply wasn't possible. The Poison Sting caught Meditite in the side, and he winced accordingly. Luckily, no poison. Meanwhile, Wingull's Water Gun had also been successful, drenching the male and leaving him... Well, damp. He, like his counterpart, turned and launched a set of Poison Stings, with just the same ferocity and speed that she had. And yet, for the simple reason that he had been further away from his mark, Wingull was able to do one better, and avoid his opponents retaliation. Ok, now he had both the Pokemon stopped. Now what? This was the first double battle Chris had ever fought, so it would take a little different approach than normal. Directing his hand towards the two Spinarak, he gave his first order to Wingull. “Use Supersonic on them. Try and get them confused so their Poison Sting will have less effect. And watch out for the Poison Sting.” The flying Pokemon flew low to carry out the order. Turning to Meditite, Chris pointed to the one that was closer to the Glameow. “Keep them distracted by using another Confusion on each of them. But be ready to dodge the Poison Sting if they attack again.” The fighting/psychic type gave a nod as it stood up, focusing his energies on another attack. This time it was ready for the retaliation, after seeing it happen so many times before in the previous battle. Chris watched as his Pokemon went to continue this fight. His fingers twitched as he was tempted to bring out his third Pokemon, his hand remained at his side. He hadn’t spent any time with the Spinarak he caught, and he wasn’t sure how it would react to fighting its’ own kind right after being caught. It might just turn on Chris and try to make an escape. Chris would just have to wait until they started training before he actually tried using the bug/poison type. Actions: Ordered Wingull to use Supersonic on both Spinarak, and Meditite to use Confusion on both as well. Also ordered both Pokemon to watch out for the Poison Sting retalliation.
