Basic Information: Pokémon Name:: Barbape Pokémon Sprite:: None as of yet, but I’m working on getting one. Optional Image:: Spoiler: click to toggle Species Information: Pokémon Species: The Barbarian Gorilla Pokémon Gender Ratio: 50% 50% ![]() Weight: 500.0 lbs. Height: 8'05" Type: | Abilities: Intimidate & Keen Eye Intimidate: Because of its massive size and strength Barbape can be very intimidating. Keen eye: Because the Barbape live in dense forested areas their eye-sight has adapted to having to see through the undergrowth and in dark shaded areas that the sun can’t reach. Hidden Ability: Battle Armor: Due to the Steel type part of Barbape under special circumstances its body becomes more physically durable and resistant to attacks. Special Powers: Wall Climb: Through sheer force of strength Barbape is able to shove his thick, tough fingers into almost anything and use this as leverage to pull its way up walls, tree’s, and pretty much anything that can support its weight. Metallic items are harder to penetrate, though, and most Barbape would prefer not to have to do this. Species Description: Species History: Deep in the jungles of Alternia where man has rarely tread many rare and unknown Pokémon go through their lives with almost no knowledge of the world outside of their safe haven. Few Pokémon wander out of their hidden sanctuaries and those that do are rarely seen again by the inhabitants of the area. One night a lone trainer was resting with his Pokémon when an enormous rumbling could be heard from outside his tent. Upon peeking out to see what caused the disturbance he was accosted by one of the most frightening scenes in his entire life. Charging straight at his little camp was a herd of Pokémon that he had never in his life seen or heard of. They were massive in both size and girth and seemed to have an unnatural speed for their enormous bodies. He took his Pokémon and ran to the far end of the clearing and watched as the monstrous Pokémon tore his peaceful little camp to pieces. When the dawn came the full scope of the destruction was made apparent. Where once he had slept only a few short hours ago was now a barren waste where nothing grew and everything was trampled into dust. All that remained was a lone figure lying in obvious pain. It appeared during the destruction one of the younger Pokémon had suffered a life threatening wound and had thus been left behind. Thinking fast the young trainer caught the Pokémon and took him to a professor for examination. The Pokémon, called Barbape, was a Pokémon with awesome power for destruction and seemed to have an insanely short temper as it destroyed everything in the professor’s examination room and would have gone on a rampage except for one small detail. Barbape are tenaciously protective of those they deem worthy and after being caught and then healed the Barbape had deemed its young trainer to be worthy to control its power. To date the herd has grown in number and travel around Alternia wreaking destruction wherever they come across. It has been noted that Barbape are almost NEVER seen alone and are usually always in a group no smaller than 3 members and no bigger than 20 members. Be wary young trainers for even a single Barbape, if approached, can be fully capable of taking out your entire team with naught but a few attacks, and a group of them is fully capable of destroying small villages in a single hour. A few criticisms: Your tutor list is pretty lacking. A few I would recommend would be: Fire/Ice/Thunderpunch (I know he learns them as egg moves, but these are fairly common on fighting Pokemon) Vacuum Wave Low Kick Helping Hand Headbutt (learned by just about everyone) Egg moves I'd also recommend: Bullet Punch Cross Chop Revenge Sky Uppercut as for TMs, I think you have a few too many, and I feel some of your egg moves don't fit either. Ones I would recommend taking out: Gravity (Typically reserved for Psychics and Ghosts) Pain Split (See above) Rollout (there are no Pokemon in Humanshape who learn Rollout) Shadow Ball Silver Wind Embargo Gyro Ball Psyche Up |

hmmm i will take some of those into concideration although some of your moves on the Tutor list Gorillian learns, like Bullet Punch is learned at level 11 so im not puttin that on any other lists. Also a thing to note, i made Gorillian primarily for players who have higher level pokemon. This way it might give them a much stronger Encounter to face then might otherwise be possible. |

Life is not a fairytale and there are no happy endings.

I've got a few things to say on this actually. 1. Personally, if I were you, I'd give it a different name. I dunno, Gorrilian is just.. Far.. Too easy IMO. 2. The attacks seem quite bulked up, I mean it learns a different move every 3 levels, which is far too common. |

In the movesets where the Pokemon learns a level-up move that can also be tutored, the same move is always on the tutor list. Therefore Bullet Punch would have to be on the Tutorable Moves list for this moveset to be similar to the canon movesets. I know it doesn't make much sense in the context of this RP (because you would never need to tutor a move that can be learned by leveling up), but this is just what I noticed. Electivire's Serebii: This is an example that came to mind. Fire Punch, Thunderpunch, and Low Kick are all learned by both level-up and tutoring. |

First... we do understand that Bullet Punch isn't actually a move that can be on the tutor list to begin with, yes? Second, it's basically as he says. A move can freely be on the tutor list as well as the move tutor, as the move tutor list gives your Pokemon access to future NPC tutor shops can be paided to tutor one of the moves off this list to the Pokemon. For this thing's tutor list, I'd suggest: Fire Punch Ice Punch Knock Off Sucker Punch Thunder Punch Vacuum Wave Zen Headbutt Helping Hand Last Resort Snore Swift Uproar Endeavor Iron Defense Iron Head Mud-Slap Outrage Rollout Superpower It's alright if the move looks odd to be on the Pokemon when it's in either TMs or Tutors. If a move fits to a Pokemon in the slightest, it's usually able to learn it in these cases. Also with that, you can probably go through your egg moves again and take out things that could be easier learned from the Tutor list, like the elemental punches and Rollout. Mega Punch and/or Mega Kick would be good choices, as would Thrash. As far as the abilities go, Intimidate works, Huge Power, not so much. That ability's only been distributed to the Marill family, and would really overpower anything else that had it. Take care of these things first, then we'll talk about the learnset and TMs >>; |

So, Gorillian are huge, aggressive, travel in packs and are protective of their kin? THIS is what I was talking about with Zomkin! Something to go on when training, something to look out for if I battle it, something that makes it MORE then just a big gorilla. Something... That gives it PERSONALITY. THIS, is a Fakemon! When the poll goes up, I'm supporting Gorillian 100%. Edited by Onyx Leo, Jul 1 2010, 08:15 PM.

Onyx isn't paying attention to the tiny details and ignoring the rest of the Fakemon. -.- The history's significance isn't worth a thing if the attacks and technical data aren't up to standard. Histories are just an aesthetic addition, Fakemon would still operate the same without them. >>

Personally I feel that there's too many attacking moves and not enough stat moves. It's just another Fakemon with power issues like almost every other one I see.

The topic has been editted based on what i thought it needed. I changed the moveset entirely, added and subtracted from the TM list, update the tutor list and egg move sections. Also after some thought i decided to try a different name, if you guys like it or dislike it let me know, i'm always up for feedback.

The TM list is still outdated, there's many moves on there that are no longer TMs in the current generation. As such, the TMs that were removed during the generation shift are now part of our move tutor sections, which you also seem to be missing a few games worth of moves from. Copy the new lists from here, then just go through and delete the TMs/Tutors you don't believe would fit. Be sure you include all the universal TMs listed under the copy/paste template as well. |
