Typically, the cold, dreary setting into which Skye had so readily jumped would mar her mood with shades of frustration, disinterest and contempt, but as the powerful Stantler trudged through the snow toward their destination and her hair was allowed the freedom to play in the wind, her expression bore an involuntary (and, as always, slight) grin. Back home, she had visited Snowpoint before, but there, it was different. As they approached the forestry around her destination - one Shimo City, apparently - she felt enveloped in a wholesomeness Sinnoh could not quite reproduce. Here, the snow listlessly drifted to the ground instead of darting into one's face. The entire experience could be summed up with one adjective, though it escaped her as she lost herself in the placid sky. Ah, that's right. Pleasant. She shifted and tightened her faux-fur lined, beige coat. Cold. That fits, too. As all good things, however, the one-Stantler open sleigh ride had to end. The gentleman took his leave with welcome formality, and Skye found herself amidst a blanket of snow spanning her view - that is, until the Byayuki coastline caught her eye. She hadn't realized it before, but it would make sense for Shimo to be closer to the shore; though there didn't seem to be much nautical presence here, surely some active port could be found. Resolving to continue into Shimo, Skye brought her left foot forward in anticipation of a turn, but was halted. Something blue - distinct, bright and mobile - caught her eye. Reexamining the scene, observation revealed that, a fair distance away, a young Pokemon eyed her. She was given pause. She had brought spare Pokeballs for just such an occasion, and what would make a better partner in this frigid land than a native? Preferably a human native, but... But hell, it was cute. Skye planted her palms on her thighs, bent forward and cocked her head in the most cliché 'here-kitty-kitty' position she could assume. In the sweetest, least threatening voice she could muster: "Hi!" With luck, the little creature would find no threat in the human; with greater luck, it has not even experienced human contact yet, and thus wouldn't be off-put when she withdrew a Pokéball, or released Remus. And if her luck persisted, and its mother wasn't nearby to roll or bite or freeze or whatever her to death, well, she had a few casinos to hit after this. |

Derping... All Day, Every Day!
|
As you found the blue pokemon, and assuming a position of friendliness, the actual pokemon looked unaffected at first. It had barely budged, only stared you down still. Finally, it must have reviewed your looks, and it let out a small cry. It went forward just a little. It wasn't close enough so that you could touch it if you really bent over the pond. That is when you heard a noise though. A rather loud growling came from the Spheal's direction! After hearing this, you could think of a few different possibilities. Was it the pokemon's mother? Or father? Or a new predator? Oh, who knows. After keeping the position for another minute, you realized what was going on. Spheal was holding it's rather bloated looking body. It gave a grimaced face and that is when it snapped to you. Spheal is hungry. "Spheal! Spheal!" Now it was crying out for food, and wouldn't mind taking it from a stranger who had tried giving it friendly looks. Besides, giving a pokemon food could be bait. |

{Thanks, Kaz!} After her initial move, the sapphire bulb of a Pokémon replied only with a stare colder than the water easing on and offshore in the backdrop. Skye studied its form with hyperbolic detail, guessing at its type(s) and speculating upon evolution, should there be any. Either this creature would be like Pachirisu back home - cute and useless - or like Hoenn's Bagon. Yes, a winged walrus might just be the thing she needed. A conceit-laden grin crawled along her face, though she took care to keep it in moderation. This was truly exciting; half of the fun of being a Trainer, it would seem, was the actual experience of trying to catch 'em all, and one of those "all" stared her in the face. Its eyes were deep and questioning, and its demeanor as threatening as a sleeping Luvdisc. Damn, was it cute. Until she realized its growl was also loud. Fortunately, she resolved that its gesture suggested hunger rather than anger. Definitely a more pleasant variant of the -ger words that English bore. With an inaudible exhale and a shift of her back, wrapped diagonally around her torso beforehand, she withdrew a poffin she had made on one of the family visits to Hearthome. It was a blue swirling with bits of green; a mild poffin, and likely as flavorful as sugared drywall. Still, it was better than the spicy one she had; if this Pokemon was an Ice type, there could be problems with that. She tossed the treat so that it landed almost exactly between the two of them, perfectly within her vision. In her other hand, she held Remus' minimized Pokeball. |

Life is not a fairytale and there are no happy endings.

As you tossed the bait between you and the bloated, round pokemon. The Spheal squeeled in joy as it looked at the food. The water/ice type pokemon quickly paddled outof the pond and trotted over to the bait like a fat penguin. It began to lick at the bait, and decided that it tasted good. That was it then, the Spheal began to gobble down the bait quickly. Wow, that was pretty simple huh? As it fed, you watched quite amused at how it looked like a dorky fat kid, munching down cake. The phrase "fatt want a piece o' cake" popped into your head for a second. Mainly because I can play the voice inside your head, and I am screaming it. Yet as you watched, a couple of flying bubbles flew through the air and collided into the Spheal. Spheal didn't seem to phased, yet still turned around, as did you. Both you and Spheal set your eyes upon the top half of a Poliwag, sitting in the water looking towards Spheal. Lv. 6The tadpole pokemon jumped out of the water, landed on the ground, and took a quick step to budge Spheal out of the way. Spheal didn't move far, but it was still effectively tackled into. The Poliwag's attention had already moved from Spheal, and the tadpole began to feast upon the bait you had thrown out for Spheal. Spheal began to bark orders at Poliwag, who in turn didn't take much bother, until Spheal gave it a nudge. In return, the Poliwag pounded into Spheal and frowned towards it. You may not have to battle that Spheal if you wanted to earn its trust, you could very easily just help it beat away this Poliwag. Or, you could go for both of them. The decision my friend is entirely up to you. Up for grabs: Level 6 37/37 95% Level 6 30/37 100%

Skye's familiarity with Pokémon in the wild was a bit underdeveloped at this point in her adult life. So when she watched as one round, cute Pokémon began to play rough with another round, cute Pokémon, she couldn't help that her grin became a full-fledged smile. It wasn't until the Poliwag took to the bait which Skye had offered that the situation's true nature came to her; that Poliwag was no innocent friend of the Spheal's; rather, a rival predator attempting to steal its food. For a reason she couldn't quite justify, she took slight offense to this; while both of them were certainly adorable, the act was rather rude of the Poliwag. What's more, the tadpole even brought it to a physical level, tackling the young Spheal away from his meal. Well, his ex-meal. She stood straight, posture rigid as always. At first, she contemplated summoning Remus to the battlefield. Commonly, she reckoned, Trainers would deal with such situations through the extent of their Pokémon. But she stopped herself from grabbing the Poochyena's Pokéball, and instead let her eyes lock onto the Spheal. It was so distraught, and so damn cute. A few seconds passed before she decided that the creature was to be hers. "Hey!" she barked, "That's not yours!" She took a pair of authoritative steps closer at the risk of scaring off the both of them. Perhaps, if she was lucky, she could befriend the Spheal and avoid bringing harm to it. It was almost puzzling, really; were this two humans fighting over something, she wouldn't spare the squabble even a passing glance. But here, with two Pokémon, it was different. She wanted to intervene - there was a desirable outcome here, and she wanted it realized. She cared. It felt new. "Go on, shoo," she said to the Poliwag. Her voice had a sort of serrated edge to it, when needed, and she knew this. Hopefully, it resonated just as well between species. She brought herself a step closer to the situation, keeping her posture firm. Yeah, maybe she was just making herself look even more loony, talking to a pair of Pokémon, but... dammit, that was her Spheal. |

~Shimo City~ ~Clear Skies~ ~Midday~ Well, there's one difference between interrupting a fight between humans and interrupting a fight between Pokemon: Humans can't blast for in the face with fire, or electricity, or.. something like that. Luckily, these Pokemon only harness Water and Ice, and the one that harnessed Ice wasn't the one you were potentially agitating. Poliwag didn't take to your input very well, switching swiftly from barking at the Spheal to barking menacingly at you. Well, probably more squeaking then barking... Whatever sound a tadpole makes. It hopped up and down angrily once or twice, then proceeded to send a handful of small bubbles right at you, popping on contact and wetting your clothes. It wasn't really that damp, but the cold weather around you made the spots icy against your skin. Spheal had finished the bait, and on seeing the Poliwag attack the source of the nice treat, began angry with the tadpole Pokemon. Sucking in, Spheal blasted the Poliwag with a Powder Snow, knocking it away from you with a flurry of snowy wind. Poliwag tumbled backwards, using it's tail to stabilize it back to standing. It looks like these two were about to start a battle between themselves... Would you help Spheal, or leave them be and grab one after they wear themselves out?

Just as she'd hoped, the Spheal was bright enough to catch on to what was happening here. Skye had already decided that she wanted the adorable little sphere of cuteness, and so, as the Spheal's prospective Trainer, she had a duty to protect it from harm. That said, if she went and punted the little Poliwag like it were a big-lipped kickball, it could cause trouble. The idea of harming a small Pokémon wasn't particularly appealing, anyway. At least, not directly. Her hand drifted into one of her coat pockets to fish out Remus' Pokéball, which she let expand in her palm. "You've this last chance, Poliwag." Remus' 'ball fell to the ground from her hand, and a brilliant spatter of lighting formed into the bright silhouette of a Poochyena, which then faded to reveal one immediately alert Remus. The Poochyena was a clever one; clever enough to know when to act. Unless given word by his lady, he would do no such thing. He thus sat by her heel politely, keeping his eyes locked to the Poliwag as though he'd seen the assault that the Water-type committed. Something about the Poliwag's aura of vigorous ire marked him as a potential threat, as far as Remus was concerned. Skye cleared her throat, as though the Poliwag knew the significance of the sound. "Leave," she instructed. Her arm extended outward to direct the angry little tadpole away from the scene and toward the water from whence he came. This was a risk, and she knew it; with the temperament that this bully had already shown, it was likely that he would take Remus' obedient and passive stance to make a preemptive attack. It was a young Poliwag, and would sooner pass out from the fatigue of battle than run now. Under her breath, and still facing the Poliwag, Skye would hope to prepare her Poochyena for the likely retaliation: "Remus, brace yourself." The dog opted then to stand on all fours and lowered his center, preparing for a dodge if needed. His ears fell flat against his head. As he and his lady stared expectantly at the Poliwag, the latter party slipped a hand into another coat pocket to rest her index and thumb along the smooth surface of an empty Pokéball. |

Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
|
Shimo City Clear Skies Midday With the sudden appearance of the Poochyena on the field, the Poliwag suddenly looked nervous. All it had really wanted was the snack, which you can't blame a hungry wild Pokemon for. The little frog was looking back and forth from Remus to the Spheal, and decided that maybe it would be better to count its blessings and head off. Tucking its long paddle-like tail in between its legs, it scampered off as fast as it could. Well it looked like you had handled that situation admirably. The Spheal flopped a few steps over to you, looking up with beaming eyes. You had protected it against another wild Pokemon. The little water/ice type had never encountered a human as nice as you, and seemed like it wanted to make friends with you. All was right in the world!! ............ or was it? Stepping out from the shadows was an overweight old man, who gave you with a slimy look. He chuckled as a bit of drool ran down the corner of his mouth and approached you. "Heh heh heh look at the little girly trying to make friends with a useless little runt. Well if you're in such a giving mood, perhaps you could give me all the munchies you have? Oh and the money too. This is a stickup. Nice and easy now, if you dont want me to get violent!" He reached down to his belt and pressed two Pokeballs. Two beams of light revealed his own personal sentinels, who prepped themselves for battle. The Spheal puffed itself in outrage and moved to stand next to Remus, looking up to you for guidance. It appeared that it would be willing to take your advice in battle! Of course you could do what the Poliwag did: tuck tail and run. The choice is yours, trainer. ================================================= Ally Level 6 ![]() Foes ![]() Level 7 ![]() ![]() Level 5

When the Spheal flopped over to her, its beady eyes were practically welling up. Something came over Skye at that moment that felt unusual, and a tad unwelcome. She felt like she wanted to pick the little guy up in her arms and console it; she felt like taking it into the city of Shimo and showing it around a town that she hadn't even been to. It was a sort of motherliness, she deduced, and as such, could be explained away by minute biochemical motivators triggered simply by the unnatural level of adorable that this Spheal possessed. With Remus retaking his sitting position at her heel, she began to crouch down to the blue ball of blubber when her thoughts were silenced by a raspy, craggy voice - the kind of voice that makes you want to take a few Q-tips to your ears upon reception. Skye stood straight, spine rigid, and turned to face the vile noise's producer who was, indeed, vile. Judging by his size, it was safe to assume that he had already run Shimo's local buffets dry, and was now looking for something to do. His hearty and malicious laugh were followed by the mistake of referring to her new, blue friend as useless - then by threatening her for her money and Pokémon. He sent out two Pokémon which resembled animate garbage bags. They didn't smell any different from their inanimate counterparts, either. Skye looked downward to spot her newfound friend, who eyed her questioningly. It was almost as if the little Spheal were asking, Is it okay if I beat some ass, Mom? She then looked to Remus, whose stare was locked with the leftmost garbage-bag-monster. It was worth noting that this one was a bit smaller. Skye kept her stance, elegant and poised as she had been taught. A barbaric slob like this would not intimidate her; even if he did, she'd be smart enough not to show that. Her options were many, but a plan quickly formed in her head. Spheal was partly Water-type, and it was freezing cold out here. Behind them, only meters away, was the coastline of a deep, mercilessly cold ocean. She acknowledged that her next few steps were risky, as was her way of dealing with the Poliwag - but, as they say, "Nothing ventured..." She leaned forward and looked to her Pokémon to murmur her instructions. "Spheal, roll into the water behind me. If they come toward us, get them soaked." She nodded as though to reassure the Spheal. "Remus," she then said, "Stay out of the water. If they charge, tackle them into it, from behind." With as much grace as possible, she took several drastic steps backward, keeping her eyes locked with this man's. Her Poochyena took cautious steps to its left, then backed up, now on the 'outskirts' of this makeshift battle ring. Skye stood a few feet from the water, now, and folded her arms with a glare. "I'm afraid you'll have to earn it." |

::Shimo City Facing down two bags of garbage and a man who looks like he was the one who filled them to defend your new friend. That was very noble of you! Luckily the Spheal thought so to and as you came to her rescue he seemed eager to do as you asked so began to make a beeline for the water. Shuffling slowly though gave the fat old man enough time to dish out some orders of his own. "Stank, Stunk, hit those two useless Pokemon with some Pound attacks. If one of 'em gets close burp at them with a Poison Gas attack! I'm gonna get your food girlie, you wait and see! With that the two bags of rubbish bounced across to your Pokemon and smacked into them with a solid Pound attack each. The one that attacked Spheal sent him rolling into the water, right where you had asked him to be. The other Trubbish had Pounded Remus but had now turned its attention to the Spheal. They both began to make their way towards the seal and when they got close enough Spheal moved. Pointing her mouth out of the water she absolutely soaked the garbage with a pair of Water Gun attacks. Remus seeing this as his chance rushed forward and slammed into the weaker one with a Tackle attack. Sent flying the bag splashed into the water and began to flounder ineffectively to try and get out. Remus attempted it on the second Trubbish but with its higher level it refused to budge and Remus flinched back from another attempt from the stench of it. What he got in return was a face full of toxic belch and a second Pound attack. The poison went coursing through his blood and Remus began to spasm. Wel that hadn't gone too badly, your plan had half been pulled off but the tide seemed to be slowly bringing the weaker Trubbish back to shore. Your move now trainer...

There was little more infuriating than watching your beloved Pokémon being brutalized, but the odor with which it came only made things worse. Skye's typical ladylike expression, one that consistently displayed her inherent elitism, morphed into a snide glare. This fleshy sack of fat was wasting her time, and on top of that, bringing indirect harm to Remus and her (yet-unnamed) Spheal. The smaller garbage bag floundered gracelessly in the water behind her, while its larger partner was winning a staring contest with Remus. She faced her Spheal, and though her voice rang with confidence, she couldn't deny how tense she felt. "Spheal, soak the beast until it's frozen!" Her gaze then darted to the direction of the standoff between Remus and the animate filth. "Stay mobile, Remus. Do not get near it!" If all went according to plan - which it very well may not - Remus could use his higher agility to dance around his opponent while Spheal finished off the younger, weaker, and less able one. Even if Remus were knocked out here, these monsters would need to risk freezing themselves to death to reach her Spheal. And with all of her confidence, she still felt the need to fish out Remus' empty Pokéball. |

By Seraria: SHIMO CITY The trainer let out an explosive breath, irritated by your tenacity and determination. Usually he just walked all over rookie trainers and got away with whatever delicious morsels they had in the depths of their bags. You, however, were proving to be somewhat of a thorn in his proverbial behind. Yet, he wasn't done with you yet. From how hard you were making this for him, he quickly deduced that it meant you had something particularly yummy hidden from him. Well, that wouldn't do now, would it? No no, he wanted whatever treats you had and he wasn't going to take it easy on you. "Stunk," he barked at the weaker Trubbish, right as it recieved a full face-load from your allied Spheal, "Hit it with all you've got. Pound!" The smaller trash bag shook off the excess water, more than just a little happy that the temperature wasn't any lower, for if it was, he would surely have found himself feeling a little frostbitten. The omnoxious and putrid smelling pokémon bowled himself right into the Spheal who rolled once before regaining his composure, eyes narrowing in anger at the Trubbish, wincing only slightly from the impact into his flank. The man tutted. The Spheal was just as irritating as the trainer commanding it. What was it about pokémon and them having personalities similiar to their masters? Stink and Stank weren't all that different to him, if he was honest. They were both vile and smelly - wait, did he smell? He glanced over at his female Trubbish and decided not to have her attack. Okay, so maybe he WAS taking it a little easy on you; don't mistake him for being a nice guy, however. He smirked, a glint in his eyes that foretold of things to come. Perhaps he was trying to lure you into a false sense of security? He would never tell, at any rate. He lifted his gaze to your face and widened his grin. "Come on, little lady, surely you can do better than that. Remember, I win, I get all your delicious grub."

"My 'grub'?" Skye was overcome with a brand of disbelief. Here she was, half of this man's weight, unarmed (excluding her Pokémon) in the snow, hungry and in practical danger of contracting a cold, and this man was concerned more with taking her food. Her arms folded at her chest and she offered the man a condescending glare. 'Grub' was surely a euphemism; no man, especially one of this porcine stature, would confront and corner a lady with food in mind. No, this little piggy wanted something slightly more X-rated - it was the only thing that made sense. After all, it was incontestably obvious that this man had no trouble acquiring food. "I fear that you will need to look elsewhere for that, barbarian." Her words were spat like venom, accentuated by her growing frustration. Even after the battle, things looked grim, for she was unarmed. In her defense, who in their right mind would find it necessary to arm themselves on a half-mile walk into Shimo? Before allowing the ogre to respond, her eyes darted for Remus, who had resumed his staring contest with the animate trash before him. "Remus," she barked, "Tear it apart!" In the Poochyena's typically militaristic fashion, he began a trained sprint forward, snarling through the descending snowflakes on approach. The dog fully intended to strew various bits of paper, banana peels, apple cores and dinner scraps all across the snowy shoreline. Next, Skye turned to her Spheal, forcing herself to keep calm as she ordered: "Keep at it, Spheal! Freeze the beast to its core!" Skye was unsure whether the little darling had learned of any ice moves, but they would surely prove useful against an opponent who was submerged. In a snowstorm. Near an ocean. Leary of her human opponent, she brought her cutting eyes back toward the pudgy, orbiculate man and kept her arms crossed, if only to keep warm. She wanted to shoot him a grin to unnerve him; a visible hint of confidence to lessen his. Yet, she couldn't. Was she afraid? No, no. Certainly not. She was just cold. |

By Balloonist: Outskirts of Shimo City A battle between good versus evil, right versus wrong, and hungry man versus cold girl was underway. Who knew what his motives where. Perhaps he really was hungry and wanted a bite to eat, but judging by his potbelly he had plenty of money for food. You were probably right on your assumption that this "barbarian" wanted more than just food. So now it was up to you, your Poochyena, and your new found ally to try and divert this man from getting anywhere close to you. He had that crazy look in his eye, and seemed focused on one thing and one thing only. It's never good to fight a crazy man because you do not know what they will do. So it's best to finish this off as quickly as possible. Your Poochyena began to growl and snarl at the bags of trash. Poochyena are very protective animals, so Remus took offense to anyone trying to mess with his trainer. Remus began to charge, but got shaken up a bit from the poison flowing through his veins. He lost a bit of his step but not before landing right into the middle of Stunk, the weaker Trubbish. Stunk tumbled back as the attack seemed to do a good bit of damage. Stunk was heaving, as he was running low on health. The trashy pokemon was able to conjure up a bit of energy and pound Remus in retaliation. Remus tried to fight back but due to Stench he flinched. Meanwhile, your ally, the Spheal, was focusing on the stronger of the two Trubbish's. Spheal heard the urgency in your voice and tried its hardest to earn its worth. Spheal began to charge up her ice powder snow while Stank let out a poison gas attack. The Powder Snow hit the trash bag head out, but unfortunately Spheal also took in the gas that was surrounding the area. Not a bad round...Stunk has nearly fainted and Stank took a good bit of damage from your icy friend. Perhaps now would be a good time to use more than one attack each round? That could turn the tide of the battle into your favor quickly. One thing is for certain though; watch out because that man's eyes are only getting crazier
