I LOVE Avatar...The Last Airbender, yo.
HELLOOO! And welcome to Zaroff Island! After you both received your new partners, you're ready to begin your journeys together. Embarking on your very own Pokemon Journey is very exciting, but it's also a big responsibility. You have to remember to take care of your friends and your Pokemon. And in this case, you might not know a whole lot about Pokemon. That's alright, you'll catch on eventually. Traveling with a friend can be a very great experience. You will both learn a lot from each other. Along the way you might not always agree on something, but in the end you'll find that getting your way isn't always the most important thing.

So anyways, let's talk location. Zaroff Island is the one of the largest unexplored areas throughout Alternia. Unless you're very careful, Zaroff Island can be a very dangerous place. The chances of running into a wild Pokemon can be very high, so it's a great place to add additional members to your "squad". To the west is Adler's Puddle, probably a great place to catch some Water-Type Pokemon. And to the North is the Twin Peaks Mountains, a good place to test your Pokemon's skill. So, you have a choice. You can do anything you want, except kill someone. You can't kill someone...Just not right...

You both walked the streets of Zaroff Island, following paths leading in the direction opposite of the research center. Step after step you took, feeling more confident every second. Then suddenly, something came from behind you (Saya) and knocked you over. After landing harshly on the ground, you looked up to find a small Corphish standing before you. Walking towards the Corphish were two young girls. One girl had a small Pidgey perched on her shoulder. The other girl looked at you and began to laugh. "Ha, what a loser. Nice shot, Corphish," she said. Ouch, how rude. "I'm Beth, this is my friend Suki. How 'bout a battle?" Well, if I were you, I'd battle these girls and show 'em who's boss. But, it's your choice. So....Go on now!

The young woman's eyes watched the battle play out, a hint of worry in them as she kept a close eye on Shred, hoping the poor creature wouldn't fall. Shroomish had done his job, making sure to take off all the attacks from Shred, keeping him safe. "Good job, Shroomish!" she cheered for the little creature as he took another blow, dealing a fairly large amount of damage to the Pidgey. Her young opponent was getting more and more irrational, it seemed, and Saya simply quirked an eyebrow as she watched, an arrogant smirk on her face. She knew how this battle was going to end, now.

And end it did with another hit from Shred, who finally downed the Pidgey with a single Scratch attack. "GOOD JOB, SHRED!" she howled, grinning as her opponent recalled the Pokemon, officially ending the match. Shred staggered, promptly falling onto his rump with a small "Chic", his eyes heavy. The poor thing was exhausted.
Saya was about to turn to Katsu and voice their need of finding a Pokemon Center when one girl burst into tears. Saya blinked, put off by this action, and felt twinges of guilt after having made fun of the girls. Before she could apologize, however, the child had run off.
"I..I didn't mean to upset her that badly.." she mumbled, glancing to the other girl, who was now approaching, pulling something out of her bag. Saya looked unsure...and then there was a Potion suddenly thrust in her face. Blinking, she took it.

"Thank you." she spoke graciously, giving a small bow before the girl ran off after her companion. She glanced down to Shred, who was still sitting, exhausted. Moving forward, she knelt down by the little creature, grinning down at him as she pulled him up into her arms.
"You did great, Shred!" she exclaimed cheerfully, glancing back to Katsu and Shroomish as she stood, still holding her starter Pokemon in her arms.
"Thank you, Shroomish. We couldn't have done it without you." she called to the little mushroom-like creature. Removing her Pokeball from her belt, she returned Shred to his container, latching it back to her hip before looking to her human companion.

"Are you opposed to getting off of this island?" she asked Katsu, an awkward smile on her face. "It's rough out here, and I don't even know if there's a Pokemon Center here at all. If we get into another battle, we might lose, with our Pokemon being so tired...and I don't want Shred to be in that much pain..."

Her PokeTech gave off an alarm just then, however, and she glanced down to it curiously, unsure of what had made it go off. A notification had popped up, alarming her to some sort of lottery game to participate in. Pondering, she shrugged once before deciding to buy five tickets. Perhaps she'd get lucky.

Katsu watched, rather proudly, as the Shroomish managed to use the Absorb power to its maximum effect. The Pidgey recoiled quite a bit from the attack, falling back to the ground as the Shroomish absorbed more of its health. "Alright, nice one!" he called to the grass Pokemon, who had taken full advantage of the momentary lull in activity after Shred's growl attack, which had caused the Pidgey to falter. However, now that it wasn't exactly airborne and ready to fight, (not to mention the two Growl's it had taken,) the Pidgey's offensive ability was quite a bit lower than it should've been.

The girl who owned the Pidgey shrieked at it to get Saya's Torchic, becoming slightly hysterical as she watched the fate of the battle turn almost completely on its head, now. They had been winning, but thanks to some quick work by Shroomish and Shred, where they'd managed to put down the Corphish, the two girls now had virtually no hope of victory. In response to its Trainer's orders, the Pidgey hopped forward towards Shred, about to have a bird-on-bird duel to the death, when Shroomish interjected, slamming its weight into the normal-type bird Pokemon, causing what little balance it had to crumble, and the resulting scratch by Torchic was more than enough to put it down for the count.

The thrill of the victory, however, became slightly less elating as the owner of the Pidgey burst into tears, causing Katsu to blink in response, not having expected that from the girl. "Uh..." he spoke, moving to take a step towards her, but she turned and fled the scene, not wanting anything more to do with them, he supposed. "Well whatever," he muttered under his breath, not wanting the winning spirit to be dampened by her poor losing attitude. With a grin, he sauntered forward before picking up the Shroomish, tossing him up in the air once before catching him, not really paying attention to the other girl who approached Saya. "Good job, buddy!"

Watching Saya as she approached, congratulating the Shroomish, he saw how she had manipulated the pokeball and did so as well, managing to successfully return his Pokemon. "A Pokemon Center?" he asked, pondering. He knew he had seen one of those here...or at least had heard it mentioned. "I...think there's one back at the Laboratory," he said, pointing his thumb back over his shoulder to the building that wasn't all that far from where they were standing now. "I think I heard someone with a Pokemon mention something about one in there. And it's like...a big research thing right? There's gotta be one there somewhere. C'mon, sweet cheeks; let's go check it out, eh?" he asked with a grin, turning around to face the research facility.

Looking up from her PokeTech, Saya regarded Katsu with a slightly odd look, unsure of his new nickname for her. It was borderline irritating, and so she simply fixed him with a look as she lowered her hands back to her pockets, having finished her business with purchasing some tickets.
Choosing to simply disregard his name, she gave a small smile. "Well, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go check it out." she said with a smile, looking around at the wilderness that surrounded them. It was dangerous, out here, and they needed to get back swiftly, otherwise they'd risk encountering a wild Pokemon or two. With Shred how he was right now, she wasn't sure if he could handle that.

"Let's get going then, shall we?" she said cheerfully, hoping to one-up him this time as she took his hand, practically dragging him back toward the lab. "Swiftly, we don't want to get attacked or anything again..."
The building wasn't far from where they were, and she hoped they'd make it back just fine. Poor Shred could really take a break, as could Katsu's unnamed Shroomish.

...a thought occurred to her, and she side-glanced back at him.
"So why didn't you name your Shroomish?" she asked, releasing his hand and smiling at him, permitting him to walk a little more by himself.

The man gave Saya one of his winning smiles in response to her odd look; apparently 'sweet cheecks' was not a name that she enjoyed being called; he'd remember that. "That's what I'm saying. You don't want Shred to get beat up again," he said with a knowing nod, though he did know that if they had come across some Pokemon with a different type advantage, that the battle wouldn't have ended up the same.

He nodded to her, though he wasn't able to respond as she grabbed his hand and began to walk at a swift pace back towards the laboratory, causing him to stumble a few steps before he finally managed to get back up to walking at a normal speed. He didn't really blame her for wanting to get back to the center to heal up her Torchic, but walking at a breakneck pace like this was rather ridiculous, in his opinion.

However, she managed to slow up slightly and release his hand, allowing him to take his own strides as she asked him a question. He frowned, pondering the implications of what she was saying. "Well," he began, putting his hands into his pockets as he walked, "If you couldn't tell by that last battle...I'm pretty new to this whole Pokemon thing. I'm not sure what's kosher and what's not, so I just figured I'd sorta ride the flow out. I dunno if Shroomish evolves or what he'll turn into, so I didn't really think that a name would work, just yet. I mean, he sorta looks like a mushroom with legs now, but what if he turned into something else entirely? Then the name wouldn't fit and it'd just be weird." He shrugged as they passed through the main doors the laboratory.

"I see." she commented as he finished speaking, tapping her index finger on her chin as she walked toward the healing area of the laboratory. Moving toward the counter, she set Shred's Poke Ball upon it, allowing the Nurse to take it to be healed.
"You know you can look up things like that on your PokeTech, right?" Saya asked with a slight smirk, raising an eyebrow at him.
She grinned, lifting her left wrist, immediately going to work. "You've heard of a PokeDex, right? It's something used to keep track of the Pokemon you've seen and caught. Your PokeTech has one of those built in."
She lifted the screen of hers to show him, showing the little picture of a Torchic on it, with several stats and plentiful information on the little creature. "When you catch a Pokemon, it automatically fills in an entry for it, and it'll even give you a little bit of info on your Pokemon's evolution tree, too!"

She clicked the screen with her fingertip, moving over to a larger chicken-like creature: Combusken. "This is what Shred'll look like when he gets stronger. It's called a Combusken."
She lowered her hands and instead grabbed his wrist, which also had a PokeTech upon it. "Now let's see, first you click this.." she mumbled, showing him the process of getting to the PokeDex area, when the Nurse soon came back, placing her Poke Ball back on the counter. Giving a small 'thank you' she took it back, reattaching it to her hip as she continued to click at the screen on his PokeTech.
"There!" she said with a grin as it got to the screen for Shroomish. "There's some information on it..." she murmured, gesturing to the text before she clicked a button to go to another page. Up came the image of a Breloom. "And there ya go!"

She gave him an affirmative nod, grinning slightly.
"I'm gonna go buy some stuff, 'kay?" she asked, before venturing off, leaving him to either stay where he was or follow as he chose.
Moving up to the counter, which had the sign "Mart" just above it, she slammed her hands down on the counter.
"A Good Rod and a Potion, please!" she practically shouted cheerfully, smacking the appropriate funds on the counter.

"Well I dunno. Those girls didn't nickname their Pokemon, so I don't see a reason why I really need to," he returned as he set his Shroomish's pokeball next to Shred's. As she continued to speak, he blinked. "Eh?" he asked, not really sure what she was talking about. "PokeDex..?" he continued, the rapid-fire assault of these unfamiliar terms causing him to regret ever signing up for this whole Pokemon business in the first place. However, Saya then relented slightly by beginning to explain what the PokeDex was, and that it was somehow integrated into his PokeTech.

"Okay..." he said with a slow nod, trying to digest the information that was still being hurled at him with breakneck speed. Then she showed him the evolution of her Torchic, which looked similar, if not bigger and a touch more menacing. "Oh. That's pretty neat," he said with a nod, trying to remember the name she'd just spoken. Combohen or something to that effect. He'd look it up later.

Then, Saya lunged forward, grabbing his wrist and messing with his own PokeTech, despite the fact he hadn't really given her permission to do so. "Ack! Hey!" he grumbled, but then she began to show him the basics of how to use the PokeTech, and the information that was available for him to read up on it. As she came to the page with Shroomish, he glanced it over, nodding slightly as he read the information available before she switched to the next page, giving him a look at its evolution. "That's badass!" he said with a grin, his free hand retrieving his Shroomish as names began to move through his head.

Blinking, he watched her scamper off before he shrugged, following after her. He didn't know if he really needed anything, but he figured having another few Pokeballs couldn't hurt. Grabbing two of them, along with a potion, he got in line behind Saya, chuckling at her over-exhuberance.

Head of Registration - The Exploding Train
The vendor happily gave you both the items you were seeking. You both held up your items in the air, and they began rotating while the music over the speaker system of the store went BUM BABA BAAAAAAAAAAAAA! You got items! While you were both about to leave, two people in masks pushed their way past you and went up to accost the owner of the store. They both released a Pokemon and looked like they were ready to rumble.

"Listen up you ol' geezer. Give us all the money in the drawer, or you're going to get it see?"

"Heh heh heh. Yeah. It would be a SHAME if we were to trash your store up, wouldn't it?"

The store manager quivered and backed up against the wall.

"P..P...please don't hurt me! I'll do whatever you want! Just leave the store!"

Quite the predicament, eh? If you two choose to get involved, surely it will lead to a double battle. However, you could also just leave the place. Or you could even use this time to steal some stuff as well while the manager is distracted. The two thugs, who appear to be no older than 14, haven't even noticed you yet. The choice is yours and yours alone! Or is it the power is yours....? I'm getting my 90's tv show references jumbled in my head...

Saya gasped a bit as two masked boys pushed past her, moving up to the counter and demanding money quite avidly. Her brow furrowed with worry, biting her lip a bit as she watched the scene play out, not wanting to simply LEAVE in such a predicament. She couldn't justify that.
She stood by for a few more moments until the two boys drew their Pokemon, and that was when they had crossed the line. Removing her Poke Ball from her hip, she cleared her throat quite loudly.
"Excuse me, boys." she called, a small, yet somehow arrogant smile formed on her face. It seemed her first victory had gone to her head a bit. "Perhaps my comrade and I could show you some manners? You two are being awfully rude..."

She gestured them toward her with her right index finger, the smile still apparent on her face. "Come outside. I'll put $20 on this battle, yours if you can beat me. It's not much, but hey, it's still money."
Glancing over the Pokemon, she pointed to the Spinda, who seemed to be a little stronger than the other. "I'll fight against this one, if you don't mind. Now! Let's go outside, shall we?" she questioned with a small smile. "Don't want to ruin this pretty Laboratory with our intense battling!"
She looked down to the Poke Ball which contained Shred, hoping he would respond well to having another battle. She didn't want to push him too hard, but...she couldn't in good conscience let these boys go unpunished.

Katsu shifted the items around a few times in his hands before he finally ended up tying the two handles of the plastic bag through one of his belt-loops. The extra poke balls he'd been given were in his coat pockets, and he really didn't have more room for any more, or a potion. Besides, he didn't want it to be all spilling out all over the place while he did whatever he was going to be doing in the near future.

However, just as he'd managed to secure it, two young punks shoved their way through to the register before spouting off some mugging nonsense. He blinked, his eyes wandering to the products around, a thought crossing his mind of helping himself to some merchandise while the shopkeeper was busy being petrified, but he figured that really wouldn't do. Besides, if anything, he knew Saya wouldn't exactly approve of him taking advantage of the situation, and he did really want to get to know her better, despite the fact that the woman had something of a...temper issue.

Before he could stroll forward and look cool by declaring a challenge, Saya had already gone and done so, causing him to shake his head and sigh. "Unless of course you two are too afraid to challenge us, that is," Katsu threw out there with a small chuckle. "I mean, you're just two little brats, after all. I'd be scared too, if I were you." Reaching into his coat, he withdrew Shroomish's poke ball, tossing it up and down in his hand, arching an eyebrow at the two.

The kids turned around to look at Saya and Katsu, rolling their eyes behind their skii masks. "Do you old people EVER mind your own business!?" The one barked.

"Dude, forget them. Let's just-" Katsu was talking, now, and his words rang in the second kid's head. 'I'd be scared, too, if I were you... scared too if I were... Scared too...' Even under the black skii mask, He could see the kid felt like he'd been burnt. "That's it!" He growled, turning to the pink bat at his side. "Gligar! Get him!" He snarled, and with a confirming "Gliii!" the bat shot forward, chasing the pair of you outside.

Spinda stumbled after the pair of you with the trainers close behind it, and the scene was set!

My, was it windy, though! And what was that chopping sound going on? A quick glance upwards would reveal a very large hellicopter bearing down on the lot of you. The two pokemon were recalled as the kids started to run, picked up by the shoulders of their shirts by the men in a very similar copter and explained the situation.

A pair of strong, demanding hands landed on your own shoulders and dragged you into the machine as it took off. "Thank Arceus we've found you! We need all the help we can get! There's a rogue pokemon destroying things in the forest nearby and heading this way! We need you two to help the other trainers en route to kill this threat! Are you up for it?" The man and the pilot of the 'copter weren't giving you a choice. "We'll pick you up and bring you back when the threat is neutralized! Your friends, too." He barked, and off you went to fight the great Genbu!

Edit: Returning.

The choppers hovered in the air with the trainers that had been 'stolen' from the research, heading back to their pickup location. "Alright, here we are! You guys did excellently! Thank you for your participation, and good luck in your journeys!" The chopper's blades whirred loudly overhead as the men helped the pair of you off the big metal bird, with all your gifts anew.

As the chopper that brought you withdrew, it revealed the other chopper that had left with you, delivering the criminals the pair of you had been about to fight, not one item richer, since they'd chosen to hide from the fight, and glaring at you for coming back with Stuff.

After a long and hard fought battle, the helicopter brought you two back to where you last were, or at least as close as possible. Somehow they managed to drop you off right in front of Oaksdale. Finally back to the normalcy of a Pokemon Trainer's life, your road stretched to endless bounds. It is your decision on what to do next.

Please post here what prizes you can claim, as well as any changes you want to your Active IC team.

Katsu gave a long stretch as he stepped from the ladder leading down from the Helicopter. The ride back was slightly cramped, much as the ride to fight the creature had been, due to the fact that they'd fit four passengers, along with the crew to operate the chopper, into the relatively small space. Not that he was complaining about being in close proximity to Saya, but by that same token, he didn't think that she had enjoyed the ride nearly as much as he had.

He stretched again, cracking his back and knuckles before he pulled the egg out from his pack, giving it a once-over. They'd been handed the egg after the whole thing had passed, and the boy really had no idea what was inside it. They claimed that it was a Genbu egg, but he doubted that whatever was inside would grow to the same size as the thing they'd fought, which had taken a great many of them to do. Thinking back, even though it had only been hours, the chaos that had gone on was...relatively impressive. The behemoth had fallen, and it had been due to the combined efforts of the trainers gathered that had managed the feat.

"So Saya, whatcha think we should do now, eh?" he asked as he turned to face her, tossing the pokeball that his Shroomish stayed in up and down in his hand. "We were just about to go and find some new friends, right? You wanna keep doing that?"

Saya had held the new egg she had received to her bosom for the full extent of the trip back to Zaroff Island. Her maternal instinct had kicked in as soon as they had handed it over, knowing that they had basically put the life of this creature into her hands. With a small sigh, she hopped off of the copter, glancing to Katsu. She hadn't really cared about the cramped quarters, so caught up in keeping the new egg safe was she. However, he began to speak, and she glanced him over once when he took his own egg out.
"Y-You should really be a little more careful and not just put it in your bag," she piped up, frowning worriedly at his gift. "It could damage it and likewise hurt the embryo."

Her eyes flickered around the forest, now, as if expecting something to come flying out of no-where to attack them once again. She wasn't entirely sure what needed to be done with this egg; she didn't want to put it in her bag, but at the same time, she very well couldn't continue lugging it around until it hatched. That could take anywhere from a week to months, and she couldn't put her career as a Pokemon Trainer on hold simply for that reason.
Relenting, she removed her bag from her shoulder, gently putting the Pokemon Egg in it, though she was careful to surround it with her spare clothes. Maybe it would stay safe, that way.
Carefully, she returned her container back to its original place before once again locking eyes with her traveling companion.
"What now?" she piped up, setting a hand on her hip. "Want to go looking for some Pokemon?"

Katsu gave a glance at Saya as he glanced at the egg, which was balanced rather precariously in his bag. "This thing's as hard as a rock," he replied with a slight chuckle, rapping on the shell with his knuckles a few times to show his evidence. Indeed, it felt like a piece of rock, though he was certain that whatever might be inside wouldn't exactly be pleased about him knocking on its embryo. "But okay, if it'll make you happy, I'll make sure that it doesn't come to any sorta harm," he said with a nod, taking the time to set down his newly-purchased bag and sort through it, making sure the egg had some cushioning on all sides. "And there we are," he said with a nod as he lifted the pack again, slipping his arms through the straps and giving a nod to Saya.

At her question, the young man nodded. "Yeah, I think so. There's gotta be more out there, right? You saw all the different ones that the other trainers had against that huge thing. I totally want to be awesome and have like...all of them. I wanna catch 'em all," he said with a grin, giving her a thumbs-up. The boy turned away from her, and glanced around a bit, as if deciding where to go. The problem was, he didn't exactly know where to get more pokemon, other than out in the grassy areas. But that was rather common knowledge, and he didn't want just any old run-of-the-mill pokemon.

Letting out a "Hmmmmmmmmm..." Katsu glanced to the side, where he saw a small road sign pointing off in what he assumed to be North. "Adler's Puddle...A water pokemon wouldn't be bad. Probably. Hey Saya, what do you think?" he asked her, turning back to face the girl, pointing to the side with his usual vigor.

The young woman had been tapping away at her PokeTech, buying a few more lottery tickets to try her luck with when Katsu spoke, talking about some puddle. A puddle? Unless it was a really deep puddle, she didn't foresee there being any Pokemon in it. Was he joking with her, or actually being serious?
Her eyes scanned around, and that was when she noticed the road sign, and that's when the idea hit her that this "Adler's Puddle" was more than likely a lake. She merely chuckled at her own idiocy before grinning, nodding to Katsu.
"Yeah, sure!" she said cheerfully, bouncing a bit. "Let's see what we can find over there!"

In My Little White Room Again
Ah the irony of Adler’s Puddle! It was an unfathomable pit whose name contradicted its features in every way, for it just so happened to be the deepest lake in all of Alternia. It’s the little things like that which seem to bring some light and joy to everyone dull day lives, but now I think it’s a good time for me to move onto your little adventure down the beaten path –which eventually will bring us to Adler and all of her beauty.

With apprehension beating in your hearts, the two of you quickly made your way down the rugged path. A gently breeze brushed past the two of you as you continued, causing the trees to ruffle their leaves and for their shadows to dance across the sun baked path. It was turning into a lovely day, it seemed, so the chances of the two of you encountering another Pokemon in the wild was become more and more likely with each passing second. And then you reached the end of the road, able to stare out at the clearing of flowing golden grass that stretched as far as the eye could see until it reached the shore of the pristine blue lake.

Just moments before you and your partner were about to begin to wade through the golden sea, the grass before you rustled, totally out of sync with the gentle flow of the wind. “Woooooooopaaaah!” the blue tadpole like Pokemon jeered as she jumped out of her cover, he blobby azure tail happily wagging behind her. She studied the two of you, cocking her head to the side in the process, and then with the same stupid face (that all Wooper seem to have :P )she began to hop in place, calling her name out again and again.

With that, the creature turned tail and ran back off to the lake, leaving a trail through the golden sea for you to follow if you wished. But if the two of you did decide to follow the Wooper down to the lake, you would come upon a rather gloomy scene. Just on the shore of the water laid an exasperated Magikarp. Her chest was slowly rising and falling, and every now and then she would flail as an attempt to return to her haven from this arid hell but would only fail. So sad. The Wooper appeared out of oblivion, and ran to her friends side to try and push her back into the water. Seems as if she want you to help her get the Magikarp back into the water, but why couldn’t she do it herself? Surely Wooper could managed to push the Magi- OH SHIT.

Out of nowhere, a shadow fell from the sky and crashed into the side of the Wooper, throwing her aside. The avian landed besides the beached Magikarp, along with two others of her kind, who turned and began to Peck at the fish! Seems as if they wanted to make a meal out of the poor Magikarp! Would you help the Wooper and her friend, or desert them for something better?
