As the title says, here we'll make a list of possible species and types that can be made into Fakemon for Alternia. The point? Basically, we don't really want to be doubling up on species when creating Fakemon, otherwise 100 different kinds of Turtle Pokémon will just make things dull. When posting, you can either propose a type combination, or a type/species of animal, or both. There is also the option to submit a theme for a Pokémon, like a flower it could be based on, a specific terrain, or anything and everything really. Every now and again I'll edit this post (Or a Mod can do it too, I don't mind either way) and from this list we'll hopefully get ideas for more original Fakemon. That said, when you take something from the list, put something else back or at least tell us that you've made something. I'm sure we'd all like to see! Either way, here's the list: Current Type Combinations: Bug/Psychic Fire/Psychic Fire/Dragon Fire/Ice Fire/Water Ground/Fighting Ground/Poison Ground/Psychic Grass/Fire Dark/Steel Dark/Psychic Dark/Bug Fighting/Flying Bug/Fire Grass/Bug Steel/Fire Mono-Types: Flying, Bug, Water, Normal, Ground, Steel, Poison Current Species: Platypus Dolphin Badger Hedgehog Stoat Zebra Moose Armadillo Flamingo Swan Dove Themes: Weapon (Sword, Cannon, etc) Mimic/Treasure Chest Wizard (Yes/No? Does the Alakazam line cover this?) Clock Celestial beings Fruit/Vegetable/Tree Angel Translator Ninja Haunted Masks Zodiac Skeleton Mariachi guy Candle/Wax Book Matched Species and Type: Polar Bear - Ice/Water Hammerhead Shark - Water Komodo Dragon - Dragon/Poison Ram - Normal Goat - Normal Peacock - Flying/Normal Tarantula - Bug/Poison Turkey - Flying/Normal Fire Ant - Bug/Fire Sand Worm - Ground Secretary Bird - Fighting/Flying RULES: - First and foremost, please do not flame anyone for whatever they may contribute to this list, this includes pointing out something that may have already been done, or already on the list. Either way, keep it civilised. Any further discussion should be taken to PM. - Second, this is a collaborative effort, and in no way should anyone claim partial credit if someone were to use the ideas on the list to win a contest of any kind. The people of Alternia shall craft this list, and it is the individuals who will form our ideas into things we can all use. There needs to definitely be either more Fire type Pokémon, or more Dark type... maybe a Dark/Psychic, or even a pure flying type Pokémon would be nice :3 And to be making hedgehog Pokémon would be nice PLZKTHXBAI! |

I would say that we need more "useful types" (Bug, Water, Normal, Ground, Steel) than "popular types" (Fire, Dark, Psychic, Ghost, Dragon [what everyone picks every time]). But I also feel we have plenty of fakemon already. That said, I feel a more defensive oriented beetle (something like bug/ground or bug/rock) or a swordfish (water/fighting, perhaps) would be interesting to see. The list has been updated. @Baha: I'm unsure about adding the Harvestman thing as it's kinda like a spider, and we have Spinarak and Ariados, I could still add it if there was a specific difference, it's also sounding like the offspring of a Spinarak and a Surskit. @Arsene: Shad was the one that wanted the list up so that there's a more diverse range of Fakemon created. It's not so much a "Let's make more Fakemon cause we need them!" than it's a "How can we ensure that there's more balance in types in Fakemon made and existing Pokémon?" It's all good. :3 |

Alright, shad made this chart for the first fakemon contest to show all unused combinations, and I've added the newer fakes to it. Any legendary's type combos aren't on here, btw. EDIT: Woops.... Forgot one >>;; Edited by Sora, Nov 2 2009, 02:24 PM.

Luxio and Luxray are lions just FYI. Arsene Hijack Persian is a bobcat, and really represents all of the predatory cats (with the exception of lions). Doduo/Dodrio is (essentially) a roadrunner. Sharpedo is (essentially) a great white shark. Edited by Arsene Lupin III, Nov 3 2009, 12:07 AM.

Here's some of my ideas Species: Elemental Type: Flying Example Appearance: A Pokémon made entirely of swirling gray air. Species: Void Type: Dark Example Appearance/Theme: Minature Black Hole Species: Blade Weapon Type: Steel / (Elemental. Fire, Ice, Lightning. Evolution tree to all three or three separate ones?) Example Appearance/Theme: A typical RPG weapon, Sword/Axe/Lance with an Element as a Pokémon Species: Fire Ant Type: Bug/Fire Example Appearance/Theme: A large, red Ant. Possible an evolution tree, a Black Ant Bug/Dark sister species, and male/female exclusive Evolutions. Species: Crystal Dragon Type: Dragon / (Psychic or Ice) Example Appearance/Theme: A Dragon made of Crystal, alternatively Ice. Species: Ghoul Type: Normal / Ghost Example Appearance/Theme: Zombie! See Plants vs Zombies Species: Mushroom Type: Fighting / Grass Example Appearance/Theme: Human-shaped Mushroom. Species: Glitch Type: Normal Example Appearance/Theme: Blockly/distorted appearance of random colors or other representation for a Computer Glitch. AKA, Missingno. =P Anyway, the others for the time being I'm going to add accordingly to the list. Some of these are more themes rather than species, but in the instance where you have put in an animal species, I'll add that under matched. Not saying your ideas aren't interesting, but remember most Pokémon are designed based on animals first and foremost. EDIT: I was under the impression also that your 'Soul' idea was what Gastly was based off, so I didn't add it.
