Welcome to Alternia! Ahh, Kijutsu City! No where else in the entire region can one hope to find such a wonderfully urban mess of crime and pollution, sprawled out over a completely infertile and rocky terrain. Now, if you were the type who spent a few years in prison and loves to steal, lie, and cheat your way into and out of trouble, then this place is simply perfect for you! Unfortunately, you're a high-spirited child just starting out life in the real world. Well, it was your choice to come here, so how about I start you off with something a little interesting? You can almost expect to see one of two things- a bunch of grimer or koffing terrorizing townfolk, or a crime in progress. Well lucky you- it's the latter. It was a somewhat cramped street, with a small sidewalk and people coming to and fro in every direction. The sun was just rising, but there wasn't much of a view out here, with tall buildings all around. It was a bit hard to breathe, as well. It was fairly warm, and at least a small amount of smog seemed to be drifting around no matter where one looked. It actually seemed that the huge crowds of people were vacuuming up what oxygen there was. The situation was best described as utterly claustrophobic. When you came to a fairly large town square, things exploded into chaos fairly quickly. Most people were running away with scared looks on their faces, while others were running all over the place, mostly children and people with cameras. After you plowed through some of the crowd, (or rather, were bounced around between people like a pinball through it) you could see a very strange scene unfolding. Two Magnemite were floating in the air, together carrying a metal box, about a yard long in each dimension. Even more strangely was what rested on top of the box. A little chunk of living ice was resting atop it, panting a bit. Things were starting to cool down, but the Summer months were still way too warm for it. The trio were slowly floating off, at an altitude of about ten feet in the air, slowed down quite a bit by the box and snorunt atop it. The crowd was starting to move around, and the rest of the scene was visible. A small restaraunt had a window broken through, and standing outside its door was a very rotund chef, yelling and cursing at the pokemon. He glanced over at you, and seemed to be able to tell from a glance that you were a trainer. "You! Boy! Help! Those things stole all'a me ice! Go! Get them!" He became red in the face from yelling so much, and he began dabbing his forehead with his apron. It would seem that these two magnemite were, for all intents and purposes and for whatever reason, the 'adoptive parents' of this hatchling snorunt. Not only that, but the hatchling was obviously overheated. Just what had happened in the past was anybody's guess, but one thing was clear- you had just witnessed a robbery. Albeit, the victim was a chef, the criminals were pokemon, and the goods were ice, but nonetheless, it was a robbery. So what are you going to do now? Those magnemite, though slow, are starting to get a good distance away, but you could probably catch up, if you hurried. Besides that, but a few people were starting to take photos of you. ~Burglars~ ![]() Lvl 6 34/37 82%(Slowed down by heavy freezer.) ![]() Lvl 5 29/35 78%(Slowed down by heavy freezer.) ![]() Lvl 1 24/27 80%(Overheating) Edited by Merlin, Sep 19 2009, 02:53 AM.

A new world was about to open for the young Kenta, and he knew this. Never before had been so excited since his father's disappearance but the opportunity that had been placed before him was one that he couldn't pass up. He had finally arrived in the city in which this epic journey would begin but the beautiful scenery he had invisioned in all of his dreams about this moment wasn't here, instead replaced by an overcrowded city where pollution filled the air. The attire that Kenta wore made him appear out of place in this warm weather but the truth was that Kenta only felt comfortable in this type of clothing, so it wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. He paced forward, barely able to take a step without someone bumping him. 'I didn't sign up for this, ugh.. Why are they all in such a hurry anyway?' Kenta thought to himself as he tried to make his way through the crowd. "Volt, how's it looking up there?" Kenta asked, his gaze shifting upwards. Atop the boy's head a minature Pokémon could be seen. It was an Elekid, Kenta's 14th birthday present from his mom. It sat perched upon Kenta's head and scouted out the area for any escape from what seem like a never ending crowd of people. "Bee Bee!" Elekid shouted as one of his short stubby arms pointed towards the direction of freedom. Kenta nodded, being sure not to move his head too much as he did not want the small Pokémon to fall off. "Alright, here goes. Hang on, Volt!" Kenta's voice boomed before he sprinted in the direction that his Elekid had eluded to a moment ago. He swam through the crowd, using his arms to force his way through until he finally made his way to what appeared to be the town's square. 'Eh, this is still pretty crowded but atleast I can breathe again.. heh..' Kenta thought to himself as he took in a deep breath then exhaled. "Nice job, Volt." All of a sudden the crowd began to move around even more and yelling could be heard not too far off from where Kenta was standing. His gaze shifted to the direction in which the yelling was coming from only to see a random individual screaming at the top of his lungs. Not only that but he was ordering Kenta to help him with something, but what? He had said something about a robbery but Kenta wasn't the police so why should he bother with something like this? "Who does he think he is? Trying to order me around like that.. Ugh" Kenta mumbled as he stuck his finger in his ear in an attempt to illustrate to the chef that he was just tuning him out. Just as Kenta was about to be on his way and leave the situation as it were, he managed to catch sight of the thieves hovering in the air above him. "Huh? No way, the theives.. are Pokémon?!" a now suprised Kenta exclamated. Pushing back one of the sleeves of his coat, Kenta revealed a Golden Poketch. He would use this Poketch to analyze the three Pokémon that he spotted above using one of its many useful features. "Magnemite, the unit at its sides generate electromagnetic waves that keep it airborne. It feeds on electricity. Snorunt, in the snow country, certain folklore says that a house will prosper if a Snorunt lives there." the voice that emitted from the Poketch explained. Kenta was quick to realize the situation: Two Magnemite making off with loot that appeared to belong to the frantic Chef. Not only that, but there was also another Pokémon involved, a Snorunt. From his experience as an ice fisherman, Kenta knew that this type of environment was not suitable for such a Pokémon to survive in for too long. It was even showing signs of fatigue and overheating. Knewing he had to act quickly, Kenta darted off in the direction of the thieves without a second thought. "Listen Volt. I'm going to need you to jump from my head and grab that Snorunt that's sitting atop that box. After your done just get out of there, I don't want you to get involved in this, just save the Snorunt!" Kenta ordered as he traversed the busy streets. "Bee!" Volt nodded. As Kenta closed in on the location of the Magnemite, Volt propelled himself in the direction of the Snorunt. As his body soared towards the targeted Pokémon, it's orders were simple. Grab the Snorunt and get out of there. Edited by Kenta, Sep 19 2009, 12:21 PM.

Such a simple sounding plan but not entirely thought through. This was certainly a strange situation to find yourself in though wasn't it? A chef was robbed and instead of chasing the thieves that were in fact pokemon, he chose to rely on a boy he had never met before. This guy certainly has a trusting nature...I wonder as a chef he must have a fire pokemon of some sort which could easily overpower these clearly weak pokemon. Anyway I'm not here to judge the people around you, I'm just here to judge you. As the two Magnemite pulled this weird crate with a Snorunt on top they seemed to be tiring. Well the crate did look heavy and they did look incredibly weak. This shouldn't be too much of a challenge for you. But still, prepare for the worst, because you just ordered your Elekid to go and kidnap their adopted child. I don't think they're going to take that too lightly. And that crate was the only thing keeping that Snorunt cool in this boiling weather, coupled with the smog and the sweat coming from the busy crowds, the overheating Snorunt was about to boil. Volt jumped from your shoulder and ran at high speeds toward the fleeing pokemon. He jumped up high into the air and landed on the crate, his fist pounding the crate to lessen the impact. With a "Bee Bee" he grabbed hold of Snorunt and jumped off of the crate and ran back to you, placing Snorunt in front of you, who was struggling to breathe in this intense heat. The Magnemite, now childless had a difficult decision to make...do they drop their booty and save their friend/child, or do they do what most criminals do and leave the man behind whilst they get away. And its not like it wouldn't be easy, you hadn't made a single order to stop them...well you didn't want to be involved in this, and thats fair...it wasn't like the chef was exactly polite when asking you, and how lame was it to be robbed by pokemon whos combined level just scraped by level 10. Anyway they did what most robbers do and made off with the crate, laughing with joy. "Dammit kid why didn't you stop them" The chef yelled as he ran over to you, "Oh well at least you saved my Snorunt." He finished. Well it looks like Snorunt wasn't part of the Magnemite's party after all. Doesn't look like you'll get the oppurtunity to catch the Snorunt, if you was looking to capture it at all. Still you could get a nice reward out of it. "Come by my restaurant and I'll give you a free meal as my way of saying thanks." He smiled...doesn't look like you're getting much of a reward at all, then he smiled and pulled a pokeball out of his pocket. "Unless you wanna battle first." He said, "I've got a few minutes to kill." He finished as a Ponyta appeared from his pokeball. It didn't look too levelled, which I guess is why he didn't use it to fend off the robbers. Still a battles a battle, it's up to you if you want to accept it or not. {Vulcan}Level 5 35/35 100%Edited to fix illegal spawn. Edited by Snow, Sep 23 2009, 08:48 PM.

Kenta stood and watched as Volt had successfully done what was asked of him. Of course the entire time Kenta had been worried that the Magnemites would turn and attack Volt at any given time but that was a risk he had to take. Luckily, Volt was able to retrieve the Snorunt unharmed. Kenta knelt to Volt's level and gave him a congratulatory pat on the head in between the two extensions that rose from it. "Nice job, Volt. You saved that Snorunt." he grinned. Kenta was pleased to see that the Magnemites were gone although they had made off with the Chef's belongings. 'That Chef's so rude.. He deserved it.' Kenta thought to himself as he watched the Magnemite dissappear off into the distance. Kenta shifted his gaze towards the Chef as he approached. There was nothing but nonsense spewing from his mouth once again, which kind of annoyed Kenta. "So this Snorunt is yours? How could you let your Pokémon get into such a dangerous situation?! You're so damn irresponsible.. You don't even deserve this Pokémon!" Kenta snapped at the Chef as he gritted his teeth in anger. The entire time it seemed as if the Chef was more worried about the large crate than he was about his Pokémon and Kenta just couldn't understand why. The Snorunt appeared to be very young and defenseless and this guy was willing to place material things above it. It just didn't seem right to Kenta. As the Chef released another of his Pokémon, Kenta's first reflex was to reach for his Poketch and scan it for information. "Ponyta, its legs grow strong while it chases after its parent. It runs in fields and mountains all day." said the computerized voice of Kenta's Poketch. "Fine, I'll battle you. You up for it Volt?" He asked, glancing at his companion for an answer although he already anticipated what it would be. "Beee!!" Volt gleefuly shouted in agreeance. Kenta knew Volt wouldn't back down from a challenge such as this. "Alright then! Go Volt and start the battle with a Leer to weaken its defenses! Then I want you to follow it up with a quick attack!.. Make sure to keep your eyes open for any suprises he might try to pull!" Kenta commanded as he sent Volt off into battle. "Aah I'm rude?" The chef said in a somewhat startled, but annoyed grunt, "Well I apologize if my shock at seeing my stock stolen caused me to panic and annoy you...I assumed you would have the decency to help me but I guess it is YOU who are the rude one." He said in a stuck-up tone of voice. He was just asking for a thrashing. "And how dare you give me tips on how to look after my pokemon, this Snorunt is reckless and tries to save the day...and he always ends up getting caught." He sighed. This guy certainly loves to talk, people tend to do that when they should focus on the fact that you had clearly given your orders to Volt who had already unleashed a Leer and a Quick Attack, knocking Ponyta off of his feet and onto the polluted streets of Kijutsu. The chef certainly seemed speechless now as his constant jabbering had pretty much lost him the battle. "Vulcan back on your feet, Focus on your speed and rush in for a Tackle attack." The chef yelled. Ponyta scratched the floor with his hoof and burst forward at great speed, delivering a surprisingly powerful Tackle. But it was nowhere near enough to weaken Volt. The battle was looking to go well in your favour, stick to your insticts and you'll rake in the experience in no time. But don't let your guard down. Even when the battle looks too easy a pokemon can turn the tides of battle and reach victory. This Ponyta may have something special it could use against you...an Egg Move, a Tutored move, anything. Watch out. {Volt}Level 5 24/35 71% {Vulcan}Level 5 14/35 88%(Defence - 1) (Speed + 1 for 2 turns) |
