Derping... All Day, Every Day!

It was your birthday, so nothing bad should happen, right? But this is the big world, and Alternia at that. You should know you were going to get something. As you are resting against the tree, many people are walking by you. The humming they hear may attract a few ears, or just pure glances. No matter what you were getting, you continued to relax. Of course, until something came along. Crossing your path, and rubbing up against your feet were a Meowth and a Glameow. What seemed to attract them? Maybe your humming?

On another note, you should've remembered that you have some unfinished tutors, and time to start tutors. If you do wish to do so, that is up to you. For now you can battle or hang out with the two felines, or start buffing up your pokemon's move pool. Don't underestimate the roles of these cats.

So, two cats, huh? Well, there were a lot of cats in Millenia, being a big urban city and all, but this was the first time that he's actually seen one in a long time. Well, if there was one thing about Sengjin, it's that he hates cats. Absolutely, positively, extraordinarily, another-word-that-ends-in-a-ly, hates them. And so, Sengjin got up from the tree, double checked that he had all his stuff, and walked away. Really, there are things that Sengjin doesn't like, and it's cats. Why do you ask? Cause... THEY JUST ARE! Anyway, Sengjin sped walk away from the cats, successfully getting away from them.

He sighed, and put his palm on his forehead, adjusting his bangs a bit. Now what he could do... He looked around and saw some people playing with their Pokemon; maybe they'd be interested in a battle. Yeah, a battle... Yeeeaaaahhhhh. And so, Josh walked over to where the group of trainers were. He introduced himself and asked one of them to battle. Or maybe both, if they decided to have a clusterfuckbattle.

It seemed like you weren't planning on continuing your tutoring at all, nor were you planning on catching some dirty city cats, eh? Well, that meant only one other thing... SUDDEN DEATH BATTLE a friendly battle with a neighborhood kid. As you walked up, a couple of the group's kids shook your hand (which you didn't actually stretch out but still). One boy had a red baseball cap on, denim jeans, and a brand-logo T-shirt on, and looked to be about twelve years old. The second boy was six or seven, at the most, and seemed pretty quiet around all the big kids. He kept his eyes down when he shook your hand, and didn't say anything. The older of the two boys began to speak.

"My name is Jordan, and this is Mack, my little brother. We'll fight you; I've been trying to teach my brother how to train his Pichu for a long time now, but all the other kids are too scared to fight me and him. Come on out Marco and Brea!" Jordan's voice was strangely feminine; you have to love kids that haven't gone through puberty yet. Anyway, his two Pokeballs materialized into a blue... thing... and another, quite larger, Pokeball. His Wooper and Voltorb proved that the kid probably has never been out of the city; both were very common residents of Millenia.

"Okay Mack, pay attention now! We're about to get started!" You wanted a battle, and here it is. Good luck, my friend.

Hmm a Wooper and a Voltorb. Talk about type coverage for them... Anyway, a Grass Pokemon would've been nice to have right about now; it'd be able to take on the Wooper and the Voltorb. Oh well, despite the type disadvantage, Sengjin sent out his Shellder, Raymond, and Swinub, Hurf Durf. After Sengjin sent out his two Pokemon he looked at the two guys and it seemed as if they were waiting for Sengjin. Well, that would make this a bit more easier, then.

"All right, time to get down to business. Hurf Durf, use Blizzard twice, both on each Pokemon. Raymond, use Toxic on both Pokemon as well. After you've done that, try your best to dodge their attacks. Jump out of the way, roll, do whatever you can do dodge them."

And that was the plan for now. Sengjin was glad that tutoring Blizzard to Hurf Durf paid off in the end. Although it would have been nice if he got good progress on Earthquake... Damn Earthquake... Oh yeah, Sengjin also had a Water Stone for his Shellder, which would give Raymond a few more moves once he evolved, but he was going to wait. He didn't want to evolve Raymond just yet.

The past shapes up, but we shape the future.
With the battle underway after few words were exchanged and both sides sending out their Pokemon everything started to flare up. Sengjin quickly shouted out orders to his Pokemon, both understanding their tamer loud and clear. Jordon's Pokemon too had been given orders, which Sengjin didn't hear over his own shout of commands. The Voltorb, nicknamed Marco was first to strike, speedy bugger it is. The orb began to spin around hastily, suddenly bolting forward before stopping. The effect of this movement was a Sonic Boom attack, which directly hit Hurf Durf. The Swinub let out an oink before continuing with his trainer's orders.

Both Hurf Durf and Raymond had been ordered to attack each of their targets with the same attack. With brilliant synergy the two shot off attacks at opposite adversaries, each attack sticking directly into their targets. Voltorb had been struck with Blizzard, quickly reducing the Pokemon's health to less than half. Raymond's target, Brea the Wooper was sprayed with a mess of nasty sludge, which instantly seeped into the poor amphibian's blood stream, causing an instantly nasty poison. The opposing trainer flinched upon seeing both of his Pokemon take hits from the opponent, knowing the worst was yet to come.

"Alright...uh, Mack. Being a trainer is all about thinking on your feet." The boy quickly turned to his younger brother, shouting out words of wisdom while trying to think of a new strategy for the battle at hand. Quickly his eyes darted to his Wooper, who had been sprayed with Poison as she focused her attack stat. "Brea, try and use Slam on that Swinub right before it attacks! And Marco, you need to combine your amazing speed with Charge to stand clear of being attacked again!" Jordon's second set of commands were clearly heard by Sengjin, who had already ordered his Pokemon what to do.

Hurf Durf, wasting no time aimed at Brea while conjuring up a freezing mess of winter conditions to spray at her. The Wooper timed out her opponent's charge time, waiting for the right moment before she went for her assault. Right when Hurf Durf went to launch Blizzard she flung herself into the air, evading the attack from hitting her body but allowing her tail to become frozen by the blast. With a smile and a chant of her species name Brea charged forward, slamming into Hurf Durf with her icicle appendage for some light damage.

"Evading your opponent's moves and making use of their for your advantage is always a great strategy, you see. Great job Brea!" Jordan didn't seem too bad at balancing ordering his Pokemon around and instructing his younger sibling at the same time. Surprisingly enough for a trainer who seems like he never even left his home town.

Raymond's Toxic was launched momentarily after Blizzard, aimed directly for Marco. The Voltorb began to dash around the ground, sparking as it did so. Puddles of sludge nearly missed the Pokemon and landed on the ground all around it instead. Not having a clear sight to where its opponent's attack had handed Marco continued to swirl around, accidentally soaking itself in some of the toxic juices. Marco suffered from a Poison, but escaped the threat of being Badly Poisoned as Brea was.

The battle seemed to be swaying in favor of Sengjin for now, but who knows what the rival trainer has in mind for the next round.

Hmm, well, that went pretty well. Sengjin watched as Hurf Durf inflicted major damage on the Voltorb, but, it was too bad that the Wooper had managed to dodge most of the Blizzard; he thought that Blizzard's wide attack range would hit the Wooper. No matter though, judging by how much damage Hurf Durf's first Blizzard did, this battle should be over soon. At least, he hoped that it'd be over soon. Even though his opponents seemed like they were new at battling, there was no way of knowing if they were going to pull a trick on Sengjin.

Now, it was time to think about this round's strategy. Wooper was inflicted with toxic poisoning, so that was going to chip away its health little by little, which is good. Voltorb had taken massive damage from one Blizzard, but, it also had that Charge up which meant that another Blizzard was going to do slightly less damage and could hit Raymond harder than it usually would. All of these things, variables ran through Sengjin's mind. He got into this battle with both of his Pokemon having the type disadvantage, but that surely wasn't going to stop him. Not at all.

"Okay guys, here's the plan: Hurf Durf, I want you to focus on your Speed so hopefully, you'll be just as fast or faster than the Voltorb and Wooper. Once you do, use Blizzard twice, each one on each Pokemon. Another thing, Blizzard is a big move, so when you shoot off a Blizzard, aim well and try and make it so the other Pokemon can't dodge it again." After Sengjin was done explaining the plan to Hurf Durf, he looked over to Raymond who was awaiting orders from him. "Raymond, I'm expecting to see the Voltorb to try and use an Electric type attack on you. What you're going to do, is stay behind Hurf Durf when he shoots his Blizzard. When, or if, the Voltorb tries to go and hit an electric type attack on you," he looked over to Hurf Durf, "Hurf Durf, you take the Voltorb's electric attack since you're immune to it. Raymond will also take any Water attacks that are aiming for you, since Raymond resists water." Hurf Durf nodded, acknowledging the plan and Sengjin looked back to Raymond. "Raymond, use as many Bubblebeams as you can to try and knock out the other Pokemon once Hurf Durf launches his attack, okay?"

Sengjin took a few steps back and watched what was about to unfold. He always tries to be as descriptive as possible when it comes to his plan, so that way, it can go 'according to plan'. The plan might seem a bit confusing to other people, but hopefully his two Pokemon would know what to do. The important thing was that Hurf Durf and Raymond would cover their weakness; Hurf Durf would absorb the electric attacks and Raymond would take the Water ones. Not only would they cover their backs, they would open up a can of whoop ass and.... whoop ass?

Things were nice for you. Blizzard dealt damage that was almost ungodly cheap, and you were fighting enemies that seemed pretty new at this whole thing. Unfortunately, they had type advantages against you, which sometimes supersedes experience. Then again, Blizzard IS Blizzard so...

Anyway. You sent your Pokemon to enforce your will. Jordan sent his. Hurf Durf began to focus, and suddenly he was randomly faster, so that's pretty cool. During this time, Marco was getting ready to do what you thought he would; use Spark. As he began to speedily charge Raymond, lightning coursing all around it, Hurf Durf attempted to run at it, hopefully to stop the attack. Unfortunately, he was not in time for the first assault, and Marco hit Raymond dead on, who had not been told to dodge. BThe attack was so powerful that it knocked Raymond out instantly. The second Spark that was called out was unable to go through, as the Voltorb sat there, confused. Hurf Durf quickly got up and fired another Blizzard point blank at Marco. Marco was hit dead on (obviously) and that was the end of that.

The second Blizzard went for the badly poisoned amphibian. Brea tried to move, but things didn't go her way, as her tail was frozen and dragging on the ground. She got hit as well, but she was not frozen, much to your dismay. Brea decided to fling some mud at you with Mud Shot, and she threw both at Hurf Durf (obviously). With the extra speed, the pig was able to dodge the first, but the second slapped him in the face.

"Fuuuuuuuck," Sengjin thought to himself. Man, he was hoping that Raymond would stay alive for the entire fight so he could that extra experience, but no, goddamn it Miles. Anyway, he returned Raymond back into his Pokeball and the fight was now a one on one. The Wooper had the type advantage, but Hurf Durf had Blizzard and could totally spam the balls out of it. That was the plan. To. Spam. Balls.

"Hurf Durf, use Blizzard twice."

And that was it. His two opponents seemed to be rather new at battling, but they had the lucky advantage of having the the type advantage against Sengjin. Perhaps teaching Hidden Power to all of his Pokemon would be worth the effort; after all, Hidden Power is supposed to help add coverage to a Pokemon. That's probably the best idea for now. Teach Hidden Power to the team after this battle.

By the way, I'm pretty sure my Swinub's speed should be +1, not -1.

The battle was quite intense, and your opponent wasn't giving up just yet. Jordan yelled out to the little Wooper.

"Look out for those Blizzards, Brea! They aren't very accurate so do your best to avoid them! Then fire back with two Water Gun attacks!"

Hurf Durf was first to act in the round, summoning up a torrential storm and releasing it towards Brea! The little Wooper barely had time to get out of the way of the blast without being stung by icy frostiness. Brea was no quitter, and managed to fire back with a Water Gun attack! The type disadvantage didn't serve you well here, and Hurf Durf got hit for decent damage.

The little Swinub got angry and prepared another glacial blast and prepared to send Brea into an arctic abyss. The little Wooper was prepared for it, and began running as fast as she could to the side. However, this time she could not escape the chilling blast, and found herself reeling into unconsciousness. Jordan called her back and came over to shake your hand.

"Good match, friend-o. A real nail-biter!"

The battle was yours, but it certainly was close, eh? Swinub was almost ready to collapse due to overexertion. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to take your Pokemon to the center, yes?

Okay, well, good battle. Sengjin returned Raymond and said farewell to the two young Trainers. Skipping a lot of random stuff, he went to the Pokemon Center and healed his team. In fact, since it was his birthday, he decided to go shopping and stuff, so that's what he did for the rest of the day. After his fun time was over, he spent the night at the Pokemon Center.

The Next Day

Bright and early in the morning, Sengjin left the Pokemon Center. Now that him and his Pokemon were fully refreshed, he decided that it was time to do some more move tutoring. However, instead of teaching a single move to all of his Pokemon, he decided to teach them all one move, Hidden Power. After his battle at the ToA, he realized that he needed a move that could cover his Pokemon's weakness, and while Hidden Power wasn't a sure-shot, it would at least help in coverage a little bit. But he still hoped that it would cover each Pokemon's weakness.

After walking around for a bit, Sengjin found a good spot to train Hidden Power to his Pokemon. He sent out all of his Pokemon, Raymond, Hurf Durf, Beebee, Spearow (Still need to think of a nickname for him), Sparky Sparky Boom Man, and Teddy and was ready to give them instructions to teach them Hidden Power.

"Okay guys, we're going to learn the move, Hidden Power. It's an usual move, but it's a great asset to have in your move pool. Also, Raymond already has a head start with the move, so if you're having trouble, then ask him for some help. Now, to first learn the move of Hidden Power, all of you must relax and meditate. Breathe slowly, and search for that inner energy that's stored in you. That's going to be our first step of the move Hidden Power; relax, breathe slowly, and meditate." Now, Sengjin turned to Raymond because he already had progress with the move. "Raymond, you're pretty much set with the meditating part, so now I want you to try and harness that hidden power in you and turn it into bright orbs. These orbs will be what you'll use to attack other Pokemon, but it's also important that you try and make it into a type that will cover your weaknesses."

Sengjin wasn't too sure if Hidden Power was something that was set in stone. If it was, then trying to cover a weakness could all be luck, but if it wasn't set in stone, then Hidden Power could be the ultimate tool to help a Pokemon cover its weakness. Anyway, he hoped that it was a move that, with enough meditating, could be changed to the Trainer's or Pokemon's preference.

Summary: Teaching Hidden Power to all my Pokemon. Trying to have Raymond (Shellder) harness the power of the move and teach itself a Ground Hidden Power.

So, you were trying your luck at some move tutoring. Noticing that your pokemon all seem to have a move or two that is unfinished. Sure, Hidden Power is useful move but are you ever going to get back to the others? Eh, not today, right? No. Right now it was all about Hidden Power. Raymond definitely had the meditation part down, and he was ready to try and tapping into that elemental power it holds. For the rest, it would only be endless work for some good focus. Let's see how each did individually.

Raymond was up first. Of course. He focused, and made the orbs easily. They were forming quicker, and more spherical. You mentioned to him trying to find a type, and he tried. He really did. If pokemon sweat, you'd see a few tiny sweat drops running along his forehead, or shell. Either way, he was trying. And trying. Finally, you noticed a tint of brown. It was very light brown and could probably ground, rock, or maybe even fighting. He'd have to explore more. But he made alright progress with the typing.

Hidden Power 50%

Each one of the other five pokemon tried to sit down and get comfortable. They tried to relax, and then each one closed their eyes to start getting some focus. It wasn't one hundred percent easy for them to pull this energy out. Hurf Durf seemed to be getting it. He studied Raymond, who had already gotten this part down. It didn't come like wise with Spearow or Beedrill. They seemed to focus, but opened their eyes too early in attempts to see if they accomplished anything. Teddiursa, well, she was like both of the sides. Like Hurf Durf, she was watching Raymond get the orbs in orbit. But she ended up opening her eyes a little later then the flying pokemon. Pikachu, however, kept his eyes shut and focused very hard. He started getting some orbs, though they weren't very good.

Spearow Hidden Power 5%
Beedrill Hidden Power 5%
Swinub Hidden Power 10%
Teddiursa Hidden Power 8%
Pikachu Hidden Power 15%

After this tutoring session, a man walked out from the Pokemon Center that you seemed to come out of. He looked as if he was in his early twenties, and his features were his short dark hair and beaming blue eyes. His clothing style was dark. Was that a biker's jacket on? With it was the torn jeans and ruffed up combat boots. He even had studded fingerless gloves. On his forehead, he sported tinted goggles used by bikers.

When he left the pokemon center, your first reaction to him--if noticed--was kind of energetic. He looked like a brute, or a meathead, but didn't seem so grumpy, but rather energetic. Maybe something is up? He seemed to be glancing around. The man glanced in your direction, and took more then a little notice of you. Maybe he wants something? Should you go and ask?

Well, Hidden Power wasn't going so fast, but in due time, all of them will learn the move. Still though, he was a little disappointed that they got so little progress in. Anyway, the move tutoring session was about to get underway, but stopped when Sengjin saw a man leave the Pokemon Center. Judging by the clothes that he wore, it seemed like the man was a part of a biker gang. To top it all off, the man looked back and forth, staring at Sengjin. Normally, he would just continue his move tutoring and ignore the man, but today, something triggered his curiosity.

"Hey guys," Sengjin said to his Pokemon, "Stay here for a bit, I'll be right back."

He left the area where his Pokemon were and walked over to the Pokemon Center. He noticed how the man was looking at him again, but when Sengjin got to the Pokemon Center, he stayed outside near the windows of the building. He wandered around a bit, awkwardly, and waited to see if the man would talk to him. If the man didn't say anything to Sengjin, then he would say something like: "Hi, how are you doing?" or something along the lines of, "Hey, the weather... Nice, isn't it?"

It turned out that the man was planning on approaching you if you showed any signs of interacting with you, and as you moved, he took that as a signal for him to approach you. He eagerly approached you and held out his large hand, smiling the whole time. Obviously, he wanted you to shake it. After a second, he began to speak.

"Hey, man! My name is Dunwick. I was hoping you'd come. You're exactly the person I'm looking for! Man, you have no idea how much of a pain in the ass it was to track you down. I mean, I was walking all over this hellhole, and no one was showing up! I thought that you weren't going to show. Man, you have no idea how much that would have sucked. But now you're here, and I can tell you about my group and what we do."

Wait, a group? It seemed this man had the wrong person here. Surely you didn't join some sort of group, right? You better tell him who you really are. Unless... I guess you could lie or something. It really seemed like he was in need of a person. It was up to you, really.

"Track me down?" Sengjin thought to himself. At first, he was thinking that perhaps he was a well known person in the city. Then again, the young teenager hadn't done anything that's worth knowing, really, so why would he track him down? He's had a few occasional battles, but other than that, nada, zippo. "Group?" he said to himself again. Sengjin didn't ask to join any group of sorts. Unless he did it when he was sleepwalking, in which case, he should maybe get some help about that. But then, he realized that this man thought Sengjin was someone else. Normally, Sengjin would tell the man who he was and go back to doing his own thing, but today, he felt a little more... trollier?

"Chyeah I'm here," said Sengjin, "Why don't you and I start discussing about the stuff and yeah."

Sengjin could possibly be in danger, but he could take care of himself. After all, he has six Pokemon that are pretty strong and they could also protect Sengjin from any danger. And so, he waited for the man to do his esplaining.

A wave of relief stole over Dunwick's face as he realized that you were in fact "the one he was looking for". He had a smile that went from ear to ear, and didn't waste any time speaking further about his group. He dragged you by the arm toward the Pokemon Center. He didn't seem to care much when you tripped, and he continued to drag you around without looking back, despite the fact that your face was now digging into the ground.

He finally let you fall limp to the ground in front of the Pokemon Center. He looked at you for the first time since you met him, and as he turned around, he comically looked around, not knowing that you were on the ground. He finally looked down after a couple seconds of flailing and panic, and smiled, embarrassed and full of apologies. As he picked you back up, he looked at your pain-stricken face and nodded. It seemed, despite your extremely suspiciously young age, you were definitely the perfect fit for his group. You followed him over to a neat-looking motorcycle. It was typical of a biker; jet-black, huge exhaust pipe, flames across the side. What was atypical was the surprisingly spiffy side-cart attached to its left side. He positioned his goggles over his eyes, and said, "Alright, jump in. We're on our way to go meet the rest of the group" So, it's time for you to hop in and continue the quest!

{Feel free to talk to Dunwick in your next post; nothing interesting will be happening during the motorcycle ride.}
