The battle was intense, Josh had two Pokemon but one was ready to collapse. One enemy Pokemon and it was still ready to battle. But in the midst of all of this, Josh took out his Poketech from his pocket. Back in the Pokemon Center, he remembered reading about some Weekly Lottery. After searching through the Poketech, he found out that it was the Zaroff Weekly Lottery. Trying to get it done quickly, he bought five tickets and got all of the numbers. The numbers were: Ticket 1 - 1, 20, 13, 17, 30 Ticket 2 - 2, 11, 22, 27, 28 Ticket 3 - 5, 6, 8, 19, 24 Ticket 4 - 10, 29, 6, 13, 14 Ticket 5 - 7, 23, 14, 3, 4 |

Using a Spearow as a meat shield, eh? I guess that could work. Not sure how much Spearow's gonna like that, but hey, you're the trainer, it's your call. Well, unless your Pokemon go on strike or have some sort of mutiny. But that's not gonna happen. Well, at least I don't think so. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I doubt some sort of Pokemon mutiny is coming. Anyway, I think I've gone off on tangents long enough, let's see how the battle's doing. Spearow was pissed, which was to be expected when you use him as a meat shield. Nevertheless, he complied. He watched carefully for Sunkern's impending mega Drains, and kept a keen eye out for where they were going. Meanwhile, Swinub was Focusing hard on increasing his attack strength. The little guy was sure taking his damn time. Sunkern was taking her time as well. She looked around a bit, then fired off a Mega Drain. Spearow darted in front of it taking the hit. He cringed a bit as the green orb hit him and sucked his strength away. Sunkern snickered. Spearow wondered why she was so happy until he realized that he was about fifteen feet away from Swinub. The Mega Drain was a decoy! He was too focused on blocking them that he didn't even realize where he was flying! Sunkern prepared her second Mega Drain, this one aimed at Swinub. Everything seemed to move in slow motion. Spearow flew like mad to get to Swinub, Sunkern absorbed energy to release her attack. Just as Sunkern was ready to release her attack, she was hit by something. It was Swinub! He'd been moving so slowly that nobody even noticed that he had gotten to Sunkern and hit her with his Body Slam! She was knocked back a bit and the Mega Drain was shot into the air. Looks like she's screwed. It was Spearow's time to snicker. He felt strength flow through him as he flew toward his opponent. She had nowhere to turn. WHAM!! Peck smack across the face! SHe was down and out. Spearow and Swinub smiled. They were exhausted, but the battle was over. Above you an audible clap was heard. Adoruby was slowly applauding you. She flew down and looked at you. Suddenly you could hear a serene voice in your head "Sengjin, you must change your ways. Violence is not the path of Arceus, the creator and ruler of all. You mustn't destroy or harm any of his creatures." The Adoruby was speaking to you through telepathy! Her voice was mesmerizing. "Until you learn to quell the violence between man and Pokemon, I shall watch over you, guiding you. I shall not aid in your fights against my fellow Pokemon. I will, however offer you guidance and advice. If you should ever need it, just look up and call to me, and I shall appear by your side to help you. Farewell, Sengjinn. I shall be watching you." With that, the Adoruby flew up into the sky. You couldn't see her, but you knew she was watching you. Perhaps you should heed her advice. Maybe if you were kind to Pokemon she'd join your team. Until then, however, I guess you're stuck with these three. Anyway, what're you going to do now? Perhaps you should teach your Pokemon new attacks, who knows when you'll be in battle again. Josh watched as Swinub and Spearow landed their attacks, successfully defeating the Sunkern. The Gulpin and Sunkern musted all of their energy and left the battlefield, which was good since the two Pokemon were not in Josh's liking. After the battle he noticed that his Spearow didn't like the idea of using him as a, "meat shield". Josh walked up to Spearow and got down on his knees, putting himself at Spearow's level. "Spearow, I just wanted to let you know that you did a great job. I put a lot of my trust in you and you didn't let me down, I thank you for that," said Josh. Josh hoped that the short speech would make Spearow trust him more. He returned Spearow back into its Pokeball, and did the same with Swinub. As he did that, he heard a voice. He looked around, but saw nobody. But then he looked up, and saw that the Adoruby was talking to him by telepathy.
And after that, she flew off. Josh stood there, and had an epiphany. Well sorta, he just needed to stop being an ass. He put the two Pokeballs on his belt and walked back to the Pokemon Center. Josh figured that staying in Millenia, for now, would be the best idea. After walking for a good amount of time, he got to the Pokemon Center. He healed his Pokemon and walked out, as quick as he came in. Close to the Pokemon Center, was its parking lot. It was a nice plain, blacktop area and was completely empty. He walked on it and decided that it would be the spot to start some move tutoring. He released all his Pokemon from their Pokeballs and they all looked at each other. Raymond looked at Swinub, Swinub looked at Spearow, then Spearow looked at Raymond. Even though they were just in a battle, they were still shy. "Attention please. First thing I want to do is to introduce me. Raymond, I'm sure you already know who I am, so this is mainly for Spearow and Swinub. Spearow and Swinub, I'm Josh and you were given to me because I traded other people stuff so I could get you as my Pokemon." Swinub stared at Josh, while Spearow seemed very...hyper. Josh searched through his bag and pulled out his TM, which would teach the move, Toxic. He walked over to Raymond, "Ok Raymond, I'm going to give you this TM, which will teach you Toxic. It's a very powerful move and can turn the tide in a battle, which is why I'm giving it to you." He looked over to Swinub, "Swinub, I have big plans for you. You already know the move Powder Snow, so I want you to learn a more powerful move. It's called Blizzard. The first thing I want you to do is to focus and concentrate all of your power into your stomach. I heard that the stomach is the storage of all energy, so try and get it all in there. Once you do, I want you to use a Powder Snow, but then release all of that energy stored into your stomach. Hopefully, over time, you'll learn this move." Then he looked over to Spearow, "Spearow, I'm going to help you learn Aerial Ace. It's a powerful move and what's even better, is that it's a guarantee hit! I think the best method would be to first fly up into the air. Once you're in the air, maybe just slowly fly in circles, but then gradually build up speed." Josh looked around the empty parking lot and found a large tree, which was at the very end of the parking lot; a perfect target for Spearow. "Ok, then once you think you've build enough speed, you have to suddenly increase you speed exponentially! You may want to take the advice I told Swinub, and store the energy in your stomach. Then once you're ready to strike, put ALL of the energy into your wings so you can zip behind the target, then attack." So far the plan seemed good. Although Raymond could use another move. A move that could provide more offensive power. |

Raymond was the first to learn a new move, by the convenient method of TM. The new attack swept through him, and he could feel the poison power, the surge of knowledge which came with the TM. He was eager to try it out, but knew that the others - Spearow and Swinub - were also to learn new moves, but not as easily as by TM. Swinub, a little unsure of what was going on despite your introductions, listened cautiously to your description of the move he would be learning. Blizzard? And it was just like Powder Snow...? A little nervous, for he didn't want to disappoint this early on in your relationship, the Swinub began to gather ice energy in his belly, just as you said. The icy particles for Powder Snow formed in his mouth, and he waited as long as he could before releasing it. He did his best to incorporate the 'energy in his stomach', but it was hard not to make it a simple Powder Snow. The result was quite lacklustre; the snow propelled from his mouth, upwards, in a slightly-better-than-average Powder Snow, but there was no Blizzard which formed. This isn't surprising, considering that Blizzard is a very powerful move, and Swinub will need a lot more practice. Besides, are you suicidal, trying to create a Blizzard in the middle of a parking lot in a crowded city? The parking lot might be empty, but you have no idea how wide of an effect Blizzard could have. At least wear thick clothing before Swinub takes you by surprise and suddenly makes the immediate vicinity turn to harsh winter! Spearow's endeavour was a little easier. Fly up high, gain speed, then strike at the tree. With the energy in his stomach. Wouldn't it be better to have the energy in his wings, to enhance speed and the final strike? Regardless, the Spearow took off, and gained height before twisting his flight path into circles. The momentum carried him forwards, faster and faster, until he was actually quite dizzy. Still trying to do as you commanded, the bird located the tree, and dove down to strike at it, trying to remember the energy in his stomach. Energy. In. Stomach! His wing struck the tree, slightly off-balance, but it was a decent hit. Nothing really set it apart from Wing Attack, or even Fly, though; he needed to be able to generate the speed instantly, without resorting to gravity. Blinking away the fading spinning sensation in his head, the bird returned to where you were stood, prepared to try again. "Oy, mate! I can't help but see you're - you're tutoring, right?" A loud, large voice called somewhere behind you, and you turned to see that a rather rotund man was walking towards you, his movements almost like bouncing. He gave a friendly wave, as if you two were closely acquainted, and stopped when he was only a few feet from your position. Your three pokémon eyed him suspiciously. "Can I help?" He brought out a pokéball, and a small Marill appeared at his feet. She called out happily. "I can teach your Shellder there Bubblebeam, if you like? My Marill here has helped many learn it, she's quite the expert." He leant down to rub her head, and she squeaked happily again. Just when you were wondering where this random act of kindness came from, he stood, and grinned sheepishly at you. "My wife tells me I have to do one nice thing everyday before I come home. It's like some kind of twisted, cruel rehab... Thing is, heh, it's time to go home now, heh, so I'm kinda needing to do something as soon as possible. Whaddaya say? We can finish it up right here, alongside you, won't take a jiffy." LEARNING CURVE Blizzard (3%) Aerial Ace (25%)

(Just realized that my name is Sengjin, not Josh. >.>) Sengjin gave Raymond the Toxic TM and learned the move Toxic. Sengjin left Raymond out of his Pokeball, unsure of what to do with him now. He knew that Raymond needed a more offensive move, but he turned his attention to Swinub to see how he was doing. Sengjin might have bitten off more than he could chew. Sure, Blizzard IS a really strong move, but Swinub could learn it, it'd just take time. Sengjin saw that Swinub was unsure of what he meant by storing energy in his stomach, and then releasing it. Sengjin needed to take a different approach. He thought that maybe instead of just trying to create a big, strong Blizzard, he could have Swinub work on his endurance of the move. "Swinub. Forget what I said about storing energy into your stomach, that's not going to help us. What I want you to do is to simply do a Powder Snow." Sengjin looked around the parking lot, nothing was in sight. And it was A HUGE parking lot, seriously. It's gigantic. "Now I want you to do a Powder Snow on my command. But I want you to hold it and keep releasing it. I want you to keep a steady pace and when you think you're ready, do your best to increase the power of the move. Try to create a lot more snow, more than you usually would. And then from there, just try your best to keep increasing that power." Sengjin then looked to his Spearow and saw that he had better progress with his move. It wasn't as powerful as Blizzard, but Sengjin needed to find out how Spearow could increase his speed in a split second. Sengjin paced around a bit and saw a few sticks that were in a pile. Sengjin picked up a stick and looked back at Spearow, who was still in the air. Sengjin stood there, thinking of what he could do with a pile of sticks. "Hmm. Sticks... I KNOW." Sengjin picked up as many sticks as he could and hugged them. He checked and there must've been maybe eight or nine of them, plenty for what Sengjin had in mind. "Okay Spearow. We're going to work on how to increase your speed in a split second." Sengjin waved his stick that he had picked up earlier, "You see this stick? You're going to stay where you are, and I'm going to throw it as far as I can, away from you! But here's the thing, after I throw this stick, I'm going to keep throwing sticks in every direction. I want you to Peck at each stick and try to break it in half. This'll work on your speed and help you learn Aeriel Ace." So far Sengjin's strategy for Swinub and Spearow were good. He turned his attention back to Raymond, but was still unsure of what move he should teach him. But as this happened, someone approached Sengjin. He turned around and saw a rotund person (I went to see what rotund meant). Sengjin hoped that this person wasn't a trainer, he didn't want to battle. But the man approached Sengjin and told him that he could teach Raymond Bubblebeam, how awesome! "That'll be great. I was actually stumped on what move I should teach to my Shellder," said Sengjin. Sengjin was glad this man suddenly came and offered to teach Bubblebeam to Raymond, now he had a move that was stronger than Tackle! |

Blizzard and Aerial Ace. They were two powerful moves, with Blizzard obviously being stronger. Aerial Ace would definitely finish before Blizzard, unless you stopped on Aerial Ace. You also had this man offering to teach Bubblebeam to Raymond, which was an excellent plus. Swinub was first, as he listened to your orders. Opening his mouth, Swinub started with Powder Snow. The cool, snowy powder was unleashed, as it streamed out. Then, it was told to hold it and keep releasing Powder Snow. Swinub did so, keeping it at a steady pace. Then, increase the power. Here lies the difficulty. It tried increasing the power. You could see a bit more snow coming out, but it increased it too far for now. The snow stopped, as Swinub winced a little. It had used too much energy at once, and the Powder Snow was dissipated, lingering snow on the ground. Well, you had made a little more progress, but it still had a ways to go. Hopefully Spearow would have better luck, yes? Aerial Ace. Spearow listened to your commands, cawing and repeating it's own name. You threw the first stick up, as it darted for it. However, it didn't reach it in time. Oh well, this is what practice was for. You picked it up and threw it again, as Spearow flew forward, snapping it in half. Hooray. It tried this a few more times, and had snapped five of the eight sticks in half. One had broke from the impact of the ground. Another, you ended up stepping on. You were left with one stick. I'd say, excellent progress with Aerial Ace. You should get it in the next few gos, maybe the next one if it's good. Now then, the man was ready to teach Bubblebeam to Raymond. First, he seemed to have the Shellder concentrate to learn how to generate energy. Then, how to form bubbles. They tried this a few times until Raymond learned how to make bubbles easily. Then, the man was showing him how to effectively blow the bubbles out, and they practiced with this until Raymond could blow them in a stream. After he learned this, they did it once or twice more to perfect it, and then, bam, Raymond had Bubblebeam. "Well, I'm glad to help. Now my wife won't nag me. See you later." With that, the man was off in a flash. Well, Raymond knew Bubblebeam now, will you finish your tutors? Sengjin was glad that the rotund man taught Bubblebeam to Raymond, now he had two moves that were very powerful. Spearow was also doing a good job learning its move. He might even be able to learn it with one more go. Swinub on the other hand, he still needed to do a better job. Sengjin had one more stick left, but he needed to find the right object for Spearow to learn Aerial Ace and he needed to find the right technique for Swinub to learn Blizzard. Sengjin paced around the parking lot, searching for things that could help Spearow. He walked around the edge of the parking lot and noticed that there were bushes all along the side. He got closer and saw that there were raspberries in there, red and violet ones! Sengjin grabbed as many as he could, and ate some since they're just delicious. He walked underneath Spearow, who was still in the air. "Spearow! You see these berries in my hand? I'm going to throw ALL of these into the air, and I want you to try your best to eat them all! Or if you don't like them, strike at them or something..." Hopefully since all the berries would be in the air, Spearow would have to focus really hard on his speed to eat or strike at all the berries. He then looked over to Swinub, who just sat there. "Okay Swinub, we're going to do the same strategy as before, but I want you to try to increase the power of the snow right as you start. I don't want you to use your energy to keep a constant Powder Snow, I want you to use your energy to increase the power of it. Right now, your objective is to increase the power of the snow. Once you manage to create a blizzard, then we'll work on your endurance of the move." Sengjin finally looked at Raymond. With the rate that Swinub was going at, he might be able to squeeze one more move into Raymond's arsenal. He looked though his Poketech and searched for moves that he could learn. Clamp was a good move that Raymond could learn. It was a move that could hit multiple times, and could be set up as a great combo maker. "All right Raymond, now it's your turn for some move tutoring. The move I'm going to teach you is called Clamp. It sounds simple, so hopefully this lesson will be simple too. What you're basically going to be doing, is using your shell and clamp onto something. First thing you should do is clamp onto something like...." Sengjin looked around him and found out that he still had a stick from teaching Spearow. And what a wonderful stick it was. It was large, sturdy, and hard to break. "First clamp onto this stick, then once you've gotten into position, try to clamp it once more. The move is basically a sequence of clamps." Sengjin readied all three of his Pokemon. He dropped the stick by Raymond, signaled Swinub to start his Blizzard, and threw all the berries he had in his hand, into the air. |

Well, all three moves were great for any Pokemon to know. If there was a way one Pokemon could learn all three, I'm sure they'd be hard to be. Start off with Aerial Ace and combo into Clamp, and then while the foe is being hurt by Clamp, use Blizzard to do some massive damage. Well, with that aside, I'm sure you're rather eager to learn how the tutors went this round. I'm sure that progress was made on them, just how much is what we need to find out. Well start off with Aerial Ace, seeing that it had the highest percent and had a chance of finishing this turn. You threw the berries up into the air and waited to see if Spearow had enough speed to either hit or eat them all before they hit the ground. Spearow ate of the berries and immediately spit it out. Apparently he didn't have the same taste preferences that you had. A few seconds later, Spearow had managed to hit most of the berries and only a small amount of them were left un-attacked. Great job, just a little more practice and he should have it down, most likely in the next round. Next up was Swinub with Blizzard again. This time you told it to start off with a stronger Powder Snow and then work on increasing the length of the attack. He started to build up an icy power within himself before releasing the attack. Once he reached his limit, he let the attack out and it looked a lot stronger then the last one but it didn't last as long and a larger amount of snow was piling on the ground now. Now you just need to work on the power a little but more and then increase the duration of the attack. Last up was Raymond with Clamp. It was a rather simple move and it should take that long to learn it. Hopefully just a round or two it'd be done along with all the other tutors and then you could get on with doing something else if you wanted to. Anyways, Raymond listened to you as you explained the move to him and then you sat the stick down in front of him and went to watch the other tutors. Raymond clamped down on the stick a few time and got used to using the move continuously, not that it really needed to since Clamp just has the user clamp down once and then stay clamped down. Unfortunately, the move looked a rather weaker than what it should be which gave you one more thing to work on. Maybe you should just have him clamp down once and then add move pressure as he's clamping. Well, it looked like you had a few things to work on. Spearow should be finished Aerial Ace next round unless he completely messes up. Swinub just need a little bit more power and then needed to keep the move out longer. Raymond could most likely finish next round if you give it good enough commands and if it also pays complete attention to you. So, good luck with your tutors and I hope you remember to have some fun every once in a while. This move tutoring process was progressing quite smoothly. Swinub quickly picked up the ball and improved on trying to create a Blizzard. Spearow was nearly done learning Aerial Ace; about one more post should do. And Raymond also did a great job at trying to learn Clamp. But this time, Sengjin really needed to pay attention to EVERY single detail. He first focused on Spearow, since he was nearly done learning his move. He walked around the parking lot, searching for things that he could use to help Spearow fully complete its Aerial Ace attack. He ran out of options and decided to collect some more sticks. He collected six of them, and waved at Spearow to get its attention. "Spearow! This is what I want you to do. I'm going to throw these sticks at you again and you try to destroy them all! Go full out with this. I'm sure that once you do, you'll learn Aerial Ace." Now he focused on Swinub. It seemed like the current method was doing good, but it could use some tuning to it. Sengjin brainstormed some ideas and thought of one. "All right Swinub, it's time for another shot to learn Blizzard. I want you to focus and concentrate on the snow inside of you. Try to focus on creating as much snow as you can. Not literally, but focus on creating an exponential output of snow. Once you feel ready, release that snow out of you and create a huge blizzard. But it doesn't end there, once you release that snow, I want you to use all the rest of your energy to create EVEN MORE SNOW. This will require a lot of energy, so take some time to rest before you actually do it." Now it was Raymond's turn. Clamp was a simple move, so all Raymond really needed was to practice it. The stick was still in once piece, so Sengjin thought of a few ways to use it again. "All right Raymond, time to practice on your clamp. You're going to run a drill here. First off, you're going to do a simple Clamp on the stick. Then when you go for your second Clamp, clamp on it, and then increase the pressure on the stick. You don't want to focus on just getting a lot of clamps on. You want to focus on getting a lot of clamps on AND applying a lot of pressure on the stick. That's how you do damage to other Pokemon. After you've done that, just repeat the cycle until the stick breaks." Sengjin took a few steps back and watched all three of his Pokemon. He signaled for Swinub and Raymond to start training their moves, and Sengjin began to throw the sticks into the air, giving Spearow the go-ahead to start its training. Woo! Yet another move tutoring post. Hopefully this round will bring great joy to both you and your Pokemon. And by the looks of it, at least one of your Pokemon should finish the move that their working on in this round. And if they didn't, I'm sure that'd make you depressed and want a re-ref for how mean it was to make it come so close yet again but still so far away. Well, let's start off with the easiest on, Spearow. He had the concept of Aerial Ace down and just needed to practice it again before it'd have it memorized forever. It was amazing how they were able to learn as many moves as they wanted and not forget any of them. Anyways, you found some more sticks that Spearow could use with the tutor and threw them into the air. Within seconds, they were all either smashed to bits or in halves. Spearow had gotten to all the sticks this time around and had successfully learned Aerial Ace. Congrats! Next up was Raymond. This time he looked at the stick for a little bit before working Clamp the way you had told him. He clamped down the first time and applied just a little bit of pressure. Then he started to clamp down more and more on the stick, each time adding more pressure. It seemed like he was getting the hang of it and if you looked at the stick in between each clamp, you could see that the stick was getting closer to breaking. Just a little more and it should be in pieces and Clamp should be done. Last but not least, it was Swinub's turn. For a few minutes, it looked like he was doing nothing, but was actually resting up before he used them move, like you asked. Soon afterwords, he began to concentrate on the snow inside of him and build it up until it was at a good amount. He then release what was inside of him and then began to focus on getting more out and keep it running continuously. Which didn't turn out so good. He suddenly began to choke on the snow that he was making while using the snow that was currently out. Thankfully, the snow quickly melted and he was doing okay. There was nothing wrong with the way you were teaching the attack, he just had a problem doing it. Hopefully he'll get past it soon and have Blizzard down in the next round of so. Well, looks like I'm done here for now. Spearow was done with Aerial Ace. Raymond was getting closer to completion on Clamp. And Swinub almost choked to death on snow! Looks like you have some thing to work on. So, I'll make my leave for now until you need me back. Good luck with the rest of your tutors! Ok let's review my Pokemon and see how I can make them better... Sengjin threw his sticks into the air for his Spearow to destroy, DESTROY. And like the pro he is, Spearow got all of them and learned Aerial Ace. Now Sengjin began to think to himself, could he get another move in before Swinub would learn Blizzard? He knew that Blizzard would take more time, but it might not be enough for Spearow to full learn the move. He stood there and thought to himself, thinking... Well he didn't think for that long. He decided that teaching him another move would be good. If Spearow didn't finish learning it, then he could finish teaching the move in the future. But now that brought him to another question, which move to teach to Spearow? Sengjin took out his Poketech and searched through the move list of Spearow. Decisions, decisions, decisions... Maybe he could teach Spearow how to use Toxic, so Raymond and Spearow would know it. Then maybe they could double Toxic a Pokemon, making it super badly poisoned! Lul... Sengjin went through the list and found one move that was good. He had just taught Spearow a good offensive move and this move was a good defensive move; it was Double Team. But teaching that move would come later. Sengjin then turned his attention to Raymond, who was still learning Clamp. Sengjin looked and saw that he had the basics of the move down, he just needed to practice it some more; practice makes perfect. Raymond didn't need much help, so he turned his attention to Swinub, who probably had the toughest time out of all three of them. And now to Swinub. Progress was being made and now it would only be a matter of time before Swinub would fully learn the move. Sengjin watched as Swinub tried to create another Blizzard, but it ended up choking, ON ITS OWN SNOW. Well that was close, having his Pokemon die in the middle of the parking lot, but luckily he didn't =D . But since he did choke on the snow, at least he'll do something to avoid chocking himself. Now it was time to start move tutoring... ![]() Spearow was the first one up. Sengjin walked over to him, who was resting on the pavement. "Hey Spearow, I got another move for you to learn." Spearow looked up to him. He had plenty of energy left in him and looked like he was ready to learn some more. "The move I'm going to be teaching you is called Double Team. It's quite an effective move and can be put to great use. The main thing the move focuses on is your speed, since that's how the Double Team effect works. And what's even better, is that you know Aerial Ace so you know a thing or two about speed. What I want you to do is just casually fly into the air, but then increase your speed so fast that you'll end up creating separate images of yourself. In fact, I want you to fly around me and try to learn the move. And here's another thing I want you to keep note of. When you start flying around me, try your best to maintain eye contact with me. What this will do is make you fly sideways, for lack of a better term. This will also help increase your speed. ![]() Now it was Raymond's turn. He had the basics of Clamp down, so all he needed was to practice it some more. Sengjin looked at the stick that Raymond trained the move on, and saw that it was ready to fall apart. He wanted Raymond to go full out on the practice, so he needed something more durable. Sengjin quickly ran to the side of the parking lot and searched for something he could use, which he did. He picked up a rock, maybe the size of a soccer ball, and carried it over to Raymond. What's also great about this rock, was that it was a perfect shape for Raymond to get a good Clamp on it. He dropped it by Raymond, who jumped away from it, who got scared from the impact of it. "All right Raymond, time for you to finish learning Clamp. You're basically going to do the same thing, but this time you're going to do it on this rock. Just to refresh your brain, you're going to jump on the rock and do a single Clamp on the rock. Then you jump off and can take a break. When you go for your second Clamp, clamp on but this time add pressure to the move. Jump off again and do another simple Clamp. Also make sure that every time you apply pressure on the rock, make sure you try to apply even more pressure from the last, so that way you can inflict more damage on other things and stuff." ![]() Last, but not least, Swinub. Swinub was more than halfway with learning Blizzard, so hopefully he'll learn it within another one or two posts. "All right Swinub, time for some more practice. I think that using the method you just used works best. The only thing I want you to be careful of, is trying not to choke on your own snow. Hopefully this time you won't, just try your best not to... So to recap, I want you to just sit there and rest. Try to get as much energy in your body as possible, WHILE also creating "snow" energy. Then I want you to release your Blizzard and then EXPLODE with all of your energy, and I mean all of it. You'll probably be winded so make sure you gather a lot of energy inside you and try to get a good form. You're doing a great job so far, it won't take much longer 'till you learn Blizzard." Sengjin then backed away so all of his Pokemon had plenty of space. Well, only Swinub needed the space, since he's the one creating the blizzard. He signaled for his Pokemon and they all began to practice their moves. |

You know, it's been sometime since I was a greenie ... you know, a greenhorn? But now I'm a different type of green. A GMod, yup! Here's hoping I don't mess up your move tutoring, 'cause that going be a little troublesome ... but I love move tutoring posts like this. Just good ol' tutoring, without messy battles and the like. Yay! Spearow got up from the pavement when you mentioned to him that you had something to teach him. Naturally, he couldn't help but feel a little tired; he had just finished Aerial Ace, after all. Flapping his wings, he slowly took to the air before his wings started beating rapidly. He ascended rapidly, his keen eyes connecting with yours as he tried to gain some speed. However, due to your dividing attention between three Pokemon at once, he wasn't able to maintain full, or even half eye contact with you, seeing as you had to keep an eye on Swinub to prevent him from choking on his snow again. He blinked, deciding to try again. (Look, a two-for-one deal.) The bird Pokemon flapped his wings rapidly, settling his sights on you instead of your eyes. He didn't quite manage to fly sideways (that'll be remedied later, yes?) before circling up into the air in a spiral. In his wake were several partial afterimages due to the almost-like-Aerial-Ace speed, but they weren't that solid, or clear-looking like an ideal Double Team. It was just really, really swift movement in a short period of time to the extent your eyes couldn't keep up with the movement. Perhaps you were doing this wrong? No ... wait ... you had afterimages; your concept was right, the problem was just with the execution, I suppose. Let's take a look at Swinub now, lest the poor thing choke on snow while he's waiting for the commentary on him. (I kid! I swear, I'm kidding!) This time, he didn't choke on snow. He choked on ... hah. Nothing. Lucky, or did he really get the hang of it? Let's take a look right now ... so far, he was working on gathering his energy while you kept an eye on your other Pokemon and gave him some space for Blizzard. You felt a chill of cold run through your body; was this how Blizzard supposed to make people feel? I'll leave that up to you. Your idea of that attack might be different after all, but as your Pokemon exhaled, a pretty large wave of snow gushed forth from his mouth. It was snow alright, and its range was increased from before, reaching up to your feet. Wow, that effort put in by your Pokemon~ Give the little guy a big hand, Sengjin! Anyway, he looked kinda winded from that. It took effort, concentration and energy to muster up the strength to fire that much snow with force and make sure it had range. You were right; the attempt did wind him. Swinub was panting now, his already slit-like eyes scrunched up in a mix of concentration and mild exhaustion. He was also feeling sort of frustrated, seeing as his teammate, Spearow, had managed to learn Aerial Ace already and was working on Double Team, while he was still struggling with Blizzard. It was kinda demoralizing for the little ice Pokemon, y'know? However, he quickly shook himself down and offered you a little cry; he was raring to go once again. Moping around wasn't going to let him catch up to the other Pokemon of yours! Raymond tried nomming the rock and looked at you; he didn't master Clamp this turn. ... I'm not really leaving you with that, haha. Raymond hopped on the rock, his shell opening just as he reached the peak of his jump. As he held air for a moment, the Shellder seemed to stop where he was ... and there! He was clamping his mouth on the rock. Soon his grip began to loosen due to the slick and slightly moss-covered surface of the stone, and no matter how much he moved his lower jaw to get a better lock upon it, he found himself slipping. Soon, he had his shell against the ground, and was the wrong way up. Oops. Did I say wrong way up? I meant - the right way up. He opened up and started to work on the rock again. Heaving himself up, he hopped - clumsily, I must add - to crash into the rock! There were scratches on Raymond's purple shell (aww), but he wasn't that bad off. In fact, he was still in a beautiful lock between his mouth and the soccer-rock ... he seemed to be clamping on just fine. He wasn't having trouble adding pressure to his attempt at Clamp; actually, it was the pressure-adding that allowed him to hold on for that long a time. He dropped off from the rock, this time landing the wrong way, where the roof of his shell was on the ground ... and no, I'm not kidding. You have to flip him over if you want him to continue mastering Clamp - beep It's your Poketech. Not that lottery again ... !
... no, it wasn't the lottery. Way to go; you've just manage to complete Raymond's learning of the move Clamp! Three cheers, six flags ... Ninetails? (wtf.) ![]() Double Team ~ 15% You got the speed here, but it doesn't quite look like Double Team yet. There's the little half-afterimages, though. ![]() Blizzard ~ 79% Yay, no more choking on snow and you've got maximum range with the attack! But there's this problem with using too much energy. ![]() Clamp ~ 100% You mastered this move. Time to start another? Y/N Edited by Aquos, Apr 18 2010, 03:49 AM.

Alright, recap so I can look at this for future reference. Spearow had the speed for the move, but had slight trouble creating the Double Team effect. Sengjin had a solution for that, but he would get to it later. Swinub, who Sengjin decided to nickname him Hurf Durf, finally got the move Blizzard learned, but sacrificed all of his energy to do so. Finally, Raymond learned Clamp and finished his move tutoring. He had the easiest time of the three Pokemon, maybe Sengjin needed to change that...![]() Spearow was up first, again. Spearow had the speed down, but Sengjin's not-that-perfect explanation of the move hindered its progress of learning it. But this time, he had a good idea of what he should say to Spearow. Hopefully, this method of training will help Spearow learn Double Team faster. "Alright Spearow, time for you to train some more and this time I got something that'll help you learn Double Team a lot faster than normal. I want you to forget about the first thing I said, just listen carefully to what I'm going to say for this one. Instead of flying sideways, just fly like you normal would. Now to create that image effect of you, you're going to have to focus a decent amount of power into your wings, so you can increase your speed. Now I'm going to try and explain this as best as I can, so make sure you get all of this." Spearow nodded at Sengjin, also cracking its neck which surprised Sengjin a bit. "All right so you're going to fly around me once again. Just fly in a circle around me at a comfortable speed. But then you need to suddenly increase your speed to exponential proportions! When you first flap your wings, make sure you put power into it, because you need to increase your speed in a split second. Now here's where it gets a BIT tricky. You'll boost your speed with a powerful flap, but as you bring your wings back, you're going to slow down. Then as you do ANOTHER flap, you're going to increase your speed again." Spearow looked at Sengjin with a confused look; it sounded good in Sengjin's head... "Okay I'll explain this again... You're going to fly around in circles around me. When you're flying at a comfortable speed, in ONE flap of your wings, you're going to put power into them so you can increase your speed. Once you finish that flap, you're going to slow down a bit. But then once you do another flap, you're going to put power into it again. That's how you're going to get that image-effect for Double Team. Flapping your wings will take a second or less, so make sure you don't waste all of your power into one flap. You seem to have a lot of energy, seeing how I'm teaching you ANOTHER move that requires great speed." OKAY, DONE! ![]() Sengjin looked over to Swinub. Out of all of the three Pokemon, Swinub has put the most effort into learning his move, and Sengjin knew that. He walked over to Swinub and sat down next to him. "Hey there Swinub. You know, I think you need a nickname." Sengjin got closer to Swinub so he could whisper into his ear, "You know... I'm really glad that I got you in a trade. You've done a great job so far." Sengjin quickly got up and looked at Swinub, who seemed... emotionless. "I'll call you Hurf Durf, what do you think?" Swinub blinked once. "ALL RIGHT! It's settled then, time to keep learning Blizzard," said Sengjin as he backed up from him. "All right Swinub, er... Hurf Durf. You have the move down, but you're wasting far too much energy for it. You're concentrating too much on PHYSICAL energy to do the move. It's all mental dude. If you BELIEVE that you can create a big Blizzard without using all the energy in your body, then you CAN do the move. It's not a physical challenge, it's a physical AND mental challenge. The brain is an amazing thing, you know? It's capable of doing extraordinary things, but it's not exactly hard to find. I believe that if YOU believe you can create a Blizzard, then you can... create a Blizzard." Sengjin isn't usually the person that someone would look to for advice or for an inspiring speech, but he felt like he did a good job to Hurf Durf. ![]() And finally, Sengjin was back to Raymond. What moves could Sengjin possibly teach him? He already learned Toxic, Bubblebeam, and Clamp. Sengjin thought to himself. He was getting a bit sick of the move tutoring, but getting some progress is better than getting none. Well... yeah.... "All right Raymond, time for you to learn ANOTHER move. You're going to be learning another offensive move, but this move will be the move where you would finish off an opponent; it's called Brine. Think of it like a Water Gun attack, but filled with salt water. So think of it like this. You're going to start if off KINDA like Bubblebeam, but focusing a jet of water instead of bubbles. And then you would add salt to the water. What's even better, is that you grew up in my father's aquarium, which was a salt water tub! So you should have the salt already in your body. But be careful to not use too much salt, or use too less of it. Brine gets its real punch by getting the salt into the wounds of another Pokemon." Sengjin then questioned what he just said. Are Pokemon tools for war? No?... ![]() Sengjin was about to let his Pokemon begin some training, but his Poketech rang and vibrated. Wondering what it was, he looked at his Poketech and saw that a Teddiursa was being traded; how wonderful. Sengjin quickly offered $150 dollars and the owner of the Teddiursa quickly accepted it. By some magic, the Pokeball came to Sengjin and he quickly released his newly traded Teddiursa. The Teddiursa looked around and was confused at what was happening. It was just in a battle and it was now in a parking lot with three other Pokemon, AND AN ASIAN KID? Not knowing what to do, the Teddiursa licked its paw, sucking the honey from it. "Hi there. You don't know me, but I'm Sengjin. I, uh-, got you in a trade from this person. If you look over there, then you'll see the rest of my Pokemon," said Sengjin. He pointed to Raymond, Hurf Durf, and Spearow who all gave a friendly smile to Teddiursa. The Teddiursa then smiled and continued to lick some more honey from its paw. "Would you like to do some move tutoring with us?" said Sengjin. Without hesitating, the Teddiursa nodded its head. Sengjin quickly rose to his feet, already knowing what he wanted to teach Teddiursa. "All right Teddiursa, actually, I'll call you Teddy from now on. All right Teddy, you're going to be learning the move Slash. It's just like the move Scratch, but... a lot more powerful... The move is a lot more deadlier, because you're aiming at the vitals of another Pokemon." Sengjin thought to himself, Pokemon ARE tools of war; holy crap. "And... yeah. Just try it."[/i] Sengjin was ready, but this time he was taking a different approach. Instead of having all three of his Pokemon go at the same time, he would let Spearow go first, then Raymond, then Hurf Durf, and then Teddy. Edited by Sheik, Apr 21 2010, 08:21 AM.

Yeah, yeah, more move tutors. That's what you guys love. But ... I like move tutoring, so whatever I was gonna rant on here is moot. So, let's get on with the reffing, since I doubt you want to hear me talk about myself and some other random stuff about myself. Yes, the only topic I can carry on talking about is, sadly, myself. Spearow nodded quietly, taking in what you had to say. Then, he cracked his neck, and raised an eyebrow. What was so surprising about a bird cracking his neck? ... the bird Pokemon didn't understand; humans did it, so why couldn't he? WHY COULDN'T HE?! Anyway, since he was too busy wondering why you looked surprised, he didn't listen to everything you had to say. Hearing half of what he was supposed to hear, and not hearing half really, really did make things go all confusing. And Spearow had to learn this the hard way ... while move tutoring. Yay. He slowly took to the skies, circling you and trying to search for a comfortable speed to coast at. Due to the path he had chosen to circle, he didn't have too much space to speed up, but he felt that once he needed to use that insane amount of speed from before, he could speed up for at least a round around this particular circumference. The bird narrowed his eyes; one flap? Seriously, Sengjin, one lonely little flap? That wasn't going to do ... that wasn't ... Either way, when he had circled around five rounds around you, Spearow gave a chirp and started to pump energy into his wings. With that done, he found himself surging forwards with amazing speed; this was the feeling of traveling at high speeds, that it was! You saw several blurs streak past while your eyes adjusted to the speed your Pokemon was traveling at. Barely had you gotten used to it, when Spearow adjusted his speed, going for the maximum speed right after he had gotten his oxygen debt repaid. Though, really, I'd stop for the day after learning Double Team. Or, alternatively, heal up and get your Pokemon ready for another round of tutoring. Raymond stuck his tongue out at you. Closing his eyes and shell, he proceeded to ignore you (was he?) and shifted clumsily to one side. You rubbed the back of your head, walking over to stand before the Shellder and giving the rest of your orders. All of a sudden, you felt a nasty jet of water spray straight into your abdomen, courtesy of Raymond the shell-like Pokemon. Ouch; that most definitely was unexpected ... The Shellder glanced at you, laughter dancing within his oddly-fashioned eyes, tongue flapping obnoxiously while he rolled water about his tongue; he was toying with the temptation of spraying you with another blast of water. Placing temptation aside, he proceeded to work on the moves he was tasked to practice. He fired off a jet of water into the air, then another to the ground. He had no idea how to add salt; did he regurgitate it, produce it, or steal it? How. was. he. supposed. to. transfer. it. to. his. attack. Hurf Durf gurgled something as you walked over to supervise him, hands brushing against the dampened parts of your body due to the brief assault on you by Raymond. The Swinub was expressionless like usual, blinking to show agreement to his new nickname - but not happiness. The brains of Swinub were strange things indeed ... wonder how they think. I mean, either they have their brain really small and above their eyes and in their skull, or have it larger but neighbors with their abdomen, intestines and various other organs. Or they have neither. Yuck. I don't want to talk about this anymore. Let's let this topic cool off ... get it? Cool off? ... I'll stop now. Hurf Durf inhaled. Deeply. And then he exhaled. He seemed to be gearing up, preparing (if you will), for the big attempt. Trying to convince his little self that he could freeze up a field was hard enough, much less trying to produce all the snow to do it. He could visualise himself doing it, oh yes, but replicating the effect wasn't something to sneeze at. Heh, couldn't resist using that word ... okay, I'm sorry. No more stupid jokes/puns. Your Swinub shivered slightly, trying hard to not crumble under pressure. Opening his tiny mouth, you could see a small void of darkness before a flash of white emerged. It was snow! The flakes burst out in a massive blast, this time lasting longer than before, but without much range. Perhaps you could try separating your Blizzard into two stages, where the ice was fired twice instead of all at once? After all, Hurf Durf is running low on energy. Your newest Pokemon? Teddy grinned and licked his honey-coated paw. Why should he listen to you, anyway? He had his own ideas of doing stuff; walking around, the little Pokemon watched what his new teammates were doing before nodding at your question. Learning a new move, eh ... why not? But he wasn't going to pay too much attention, which he did with flying colors. Half-heartedly, he slashed at empty air. There weren't any of the vitals you had mentioned, you see. Teddy glanced back at you lazily, sucking on one of his claws. Deciding to give it another shot, the Teddiursa got serious, extended a paw and struck it through the air. Not too bad. It was still a Scratch, but slightly more forceful. You'll need a target or something to make it work properly. ![]() Double Team ~ 35% Those clones aren't blurs or afterimages. They mimic movements and are individuals. Start on making those clones look real. You've already got the start-up part. ![]() Brine ~ 5% Sea Pokemon learn Brine while they're in water. Salt water. You need a salt source as well. ![]() Blizzard ~ 90% Energy, range and power makes a good Blizzard. Get a good ratio of that and you're solid. ![]() Slash ~ 15% Not too impressive, but could be worse. Get a target. |

Yeah, move tutoring is getting kinda boring now... But anyway... Progress was being made and Sengjin was finally glad that Swinub nearly learned Blizzard, only 10% more to go! But keeping in the order that Sengjin was going in, he was going to help Spearow learn Double Team. Actually no, first thing that Sengjin did was get all of his Pokemon back into their Pokeballs and went to the Pokemon Center to heal up. They've been spending a lot of time move tutoring, so they needed a break. After spending some time at the Pokemon Center, Sengjin went back to the parking lot and released all of his Pokemon. They didn't seem that happy about it, but it would all be worthwhile in the end. Sengjin then looked to Teddy, his newest member of the team. ![]() "All right, Teddy. It's time for you to learn how to do Slash. It's a pretty simple attack, it's just like Scratch but you aim at the vitals of a Pokemon." Sengjin looked around, thinking of how to demonstrate the move Slash, and quickly found a large tree. It seemed like this parking lot had everything that Sengjin needed to help teach his Pokemon their moves. Sengjin walked over to the tree, Teddy following close behind him. Sengjin stood next to the tree and put his hand on it, feeling the bark. "Teddy, this tree is perfect. What you basically have to do, is strike at certain spots of this tree. For the sake of training, pretending this tree is a Pokemon. Now I want you to imagine another Pokemon as this tree, try to visualize it as best as you can. Once you do, use a Scratch at either the face, neck, chest, liver, or groin of the Pokemon. When you use Slash, you're aiming at the vitals of another Pokemon. It may sound evil, but it's effective. You won't get it your first try, so do a couple of Slashes." ![]() Now it was Raymond's turn... Sengjin walked over to Raymond and patted his... shell. "All right Raymond, Brine isn't too bad of a move. Don't you remember when you lived in my father's aquarium? That was a tank filled with salt water. And when I think about it, you spent a lot of time there, so generating salt shouldn't be too hard. Try and shoot a stream of water, and then adding salt to it. It may sound a bit confusing, but generating salt for you is like humans generating saliva. There's no way that we cannot create it." ![]() Now it was Spearow's turn for move tutoring, jeez I'm getting tired of this... "All right Spearow, I think we're on the right track for you learning Double Team, but I may have made a mistake. Instead of doing that one flap thing, just do it yourself because I'm not the one who's learning the move. The previous method might sound good in my head, but not work great for you, so use the same concept of what I said before, but ignore the one flap thing." He kept it short, since I'm getting tired of typing this... ![]() Finally, it was Hurf Durf's turn. "All right Hurf Durf, now it's your turn for you to finish learning Blizzard. Well actually, you're pretty much doing great. You have the power of it, the energy, and the range for the move. So what I simply want you to do, is create a Blizzard. If you feel like you've fully learned the move, then maybe to a really strong Blizzard for kicks and giggles." AND GO!!! Edited by Sheik, May 6 2010, 02:21 PM.
