"Danggummit." Josh said to himself as the Inkia vanished into the mist. Unsure of where the Inkia was going to be and how smart it was, it could've used a Twister attack right above Josh. He saw the mist cloud go behind Trapinch, but Josh figured it could've been using it as a distraction. Before Josh could give his Trapinch a warning, his Trapinch was hit by another Twister attack. Lucky for him, Trapinch managed to land another Bite attack onto the Inkia, hard. The Inkia fell down onto the sand, unconscious and Trapinch came back to Josh's side. "Nicely done Trapinch!" said Josh. "Alright... Now I think it's time for that Inkia to be mine!" Josh let his Trapinch back into its Pokeball and pulled a new one from his bag. "All right Pokeball, don't fail me now!" He threw it at the Inkia, with good accuracy and speed; it's a good thing those few years of baseball paid off. The Pokeball flew into the air, but now only fate...or...er a mod will determine if the Inkia is caught. Edited by Sheik, Dec 5 2009, 11:45 AM.

The ball hit the dragon, and sucked it up in a flash of red light. It shook violently for a short while, but soon fell still in the wake the dragon's body had made in the sand. The Inkia was now yours! Now, time to think. It's got a very unique typing, and is a very rare Pokemon. You could trade it for something of equal value, or train it and harvest it's power as your own. Your choice, though. What also was your choice is what you were going to do next. Obviously, you'd want to run to the Pokemon Center and heal. You could stay and sleep, or find someone in there willing to battle. Or you could leave, and search around the city for wild Pokemon or wandering Trainers. Though, those trainers may also be thieves, so this may not be the best of ideas... Then again, you could even leave the city all together and start venturing down a route. Or, you could eeeeeven do some late night move tutoring. Whatever you decide to do is your decision, and the next guy's problem. You's are done with me~! Now run away and scream with your new freedom. ----------------------------------------------------- Trapinch gained 10 .exp! Trapinch leveled up! Trapinch grew to Lv 9 with 2.1 exp left over! Trapinch learned Sand Attack! Inkia gained 5 .exp! Inkia joined your team! |

The Pokeball wriggled, but it finally stopped and a new Pokemon was added to Josh's party. In one day he managed to capture two Pokemon, a Trapinch and Inkia. Too bad for him, both Pokemon weren't very high in Josh's mind of coolio Pokemon. Nevertheless, Josh picked up his Pokeball that had caught Inkia and returned Trapinch to its Pokeball also. He put both Pokeballs onto his belt and he walked off the beach. He looked around and saw a big P, which obviously meant that it was a Pokemon Center. He walked towards the general direction of where the Pokemon Center was. Walking through Millenia felt a lot more different this time around. Josh had a total of three Pokemon, even though he only wanted to keep his Shellder, and was doing well for himself. After he walked for only a couple of minutes, he reached the Pokemon center and walked inside. He'd been to the Millenia Pokemon Center before as a child, and it still looked the way it did those many years ago. After healing his Pokemon, he journeyed through the large building. The first part of the building he reached, not including the lobby of course, was the cafeteria that served food to trainers. He ignored it, because he didn't have much of an appetite at the time. After his quick tour of the building, he went to his room where he would stay there overnight, free of charge.... Night passed and now it was morning; bright and early at almost 7 o'clock. Josh left the Pokemon Center and walked in the direction that would take him out of Millenia. He walked through the town of Millenia, familiar with the buildings and the people in them. Josh continued to walk down the road he was on, determined to get out of Millenia... Unless a Swinub happened to be where Josh was... yep.... Edited by Sheik, Dec 8 2009, 03:18 PM.

Yeeeee-no. Swinub? In these parts? Good luck. Millenia Town, and the surrounding regions were not the natural habitat for the pig-like Pokemon. If you want something like that, you’re going to need to search in caves, or generally colder, or muddy places. So in the meantime, you’re just going to have to go without until you get there. So…on the road again…Reminds me of a song a donkey once sang in an animated film I saw, but that’s beside the point. As you wandered down the road, nothing really stood out. It was early, and most people that enjoyed sleeping in were, and Pokemon were pretty much the same. Pokemon that were up at the crack of dawn were now going about their daily lives. I wonder what those could be, as Pokemon only really had hunting for food as the needs of everyday life. I can imagine an Arcanine slumbering near a fireplace, or a couple of Growlithe frolicking in a field…Or a Gulpin standing in the middle of the path just sitting there bored. That was your situation. A Gulpin, ‘standing’ there, idly in the middle of the road waiting for god knows what. Well, your day has just begun, so what are you waiting for? You gonna continue on or battle it? Walking around the Christmas.... Millenia Town bright and early felt good to Josh. Sure his eyes felt a little droopy, but he ignored it since he would get over his suffering of the morning. He walked and walked until he saw a green glub of goo, lying right in the middle of the road. "Well that's strange," Josh said to himself. He took out his Pokedex and it scanned the green hershey kiss with a leaf on its head. "Gulpin, the raarararwaaaawawaawawloooooleleleoowwaaa." the Pokedex spoke out to Josh in a weird alien-like voice. "What the frick?" said Josh, wriggling his Poketech. "Piece of junk," said Josh as he hit it with the palm of his hand. It finally went back to normal and it spoke to Josh, telling it all about the Gulpin. "So Gulpin eh?" he whispered to himself, "Kind of an ugly Pokemon..." He spoke softly and made sure that the Gulpin didn't hear him, if it did, IT COULD'VE ATTACKED HIM OR SOMETHING, RIGHT? Josh put his Pokedex back into his bag and walked to his left, which would take him onto a new street, but parallel to the one he was on. Hopefully that Gulpin would just stay there, it had no reason to involve itself with Josh's business. |

What a thing to say to that poor little Pokemon! And you even managed to insult a female Gulpin's looks! How heartless of you! The Gulpin sadly looked at the ground, suddenly feeling insecure about herself. Unfortunately for you, she came to the realization that she wasn't going to take that from some human. She ran up to you and into you, deterring you from your path onward to Millenia City. What's more, she yelled out loudly and a friend of hers came out from the grass. A female Sunkern took position next to the Gulpin. The two vain Pokemon blocked your path onward and stood resolutely in front of you. With two Pokemon glairing at you, it didn't look like you had much of a choice. You were going to have to battle this Gulpin and her friend if you wanted to go onward. Or you could simply high-tail it and hope that you can outrun two Pokemon. The choice is yours, trainer! FOE ![]() ![]() Level 9 ![]() ![]() Level 6 |

Well this sucks... I guess the Gulpin had superpower-like hearing abilities. It could've been worse I guess... The Gulpin charged at Josh and hit his lower leg. It didn't hurt much since the Gulpin was a tiny Pokemon. But the day was just getting even more weirder. Josh's Poketech rang and vibrated, alerting him that he had gotten a message. He looked at the Poketech and saw that someone offered a trade for his Inkia. Before leaving the Pokemon Center, Josh left a notice on a billboard and it said that his Inkia was up for trade. Josh accepted the trade and received a Level 8 Spearow, an Ultraball, 2 Pokeballs, and $500. "Ok! Now it's time to..." RING RING RING. Josh's Poketech ran again and he looked to see that someone also wanted his Trapinch for trade. He looked at the offer and saw that it was a Level 1 Swinub and $100 dollars. Josh accepted the trade and his Trapinch was sent to his new trainer. "Well that was weird..." he said to himself. He looked back at the Gulpin and Sunkern, "Well they seem pretty strong, I think this might be a big problem." Josh took all three of his Pokeballs and threw them a few feet in front of him. The Pokeballs shout out all of Josh's Pokemon. His Shellder, Raymond, and his two newly traded Pokemon, Swinub and Spearow. Shellder was the first one to get released from his Pokeball. It gave out a small cry and stretched its... shell. Next to come was Josh's Swinub. But when it came out of its Pokeball, it looked around sorta confused as to where it was. Josh walked to his newly traded Swinub and got down onto his knees. "Hey there buddy. I know you don't know me, but we're partners now. I know that we just met, but I need you to help me out, do you see those two Pokemon down the road?" Josh pointed to the Gulpin and Seedot. "Yeah well, I need you to help me out and take them out, can you do that?" His Swinub blinked at Josh, then nodded. Finally, his Spearow came out. It gave out a large cry and flapped its wings. It looked at Josh, but it overheard Josh's message to his Swinub. The Spearow knew what to do and faced the two enemies. "Ok guys. We all need to work together here, this means that we all have to respect each other and listen to me. Spearow, first thing I want you to do is use your powerful wings and summon a strong gust of wind towards the Gulpin and Seedot." Hopefully by doing this, the dirt and sand on the road would also lower the Gulpin and the Sunkern's accuracy. Raymond and Swinub, I want you to steer clear from the gust. If everything goes according to plan, Raymond I want you to use a Tackle attack on the Sunkern. Swinub, if you see an opening you use a Body Slam on the Sunkern too." Josh looked up towards his Spearow, "Spearow, after you use your gust of wind, I want you to quickly fly around and distract the Gulpin. Once you get an opening, use a Peck attack." So you were armed with two new companions and well, they ready to do your bidding. The spearow was clearly the most powerful, but also might have an attitude to it...allowing it not to listen to you. But that's not something I would truly know now...was it? All I know, is that it quickly sprang up upon your order, knowing that you were it's new master. It's wing quickly begining to flap in an assult on the two Pokemon that stood opposite of it. The wings were powerful, for a smaller bird type, and they were exact. Unfortunately for it though, it hadn't been versed in a specific manuver such as Sand-Attack, so it had failed to push the wind in such a precise manner to kick up enough dirt...but the gust of wind had hit the two Pokes easily. Good move, but it didn't have much of an effect! But up next, was Shellder and Swinub, and they seemed quite anticipatory to get the attack on! And they did so with quite the charge, the tiny swinub not moving very fast as they both moved in to attack...but they hadn't anticipated the attack from the much stronger Gulpin...as it saw the incoming body to body attack, it used an intelligence to let out a burp...or gust of wind, or whatever it was...and the purple poison would quickly sweep over the ground in front of it like a thick fog...encasing both Swinub and Shellder. And viola, they were poisoned, but their attacks weren't held back by the attacks upon the flower. And it took the hit, as Swinub and Shellder moved back to their starting positions. Spearow saw the opening at this moment and quickly assaulted with a peck attack! Perfect in execution and it hit the gulpin hard, but the flying wasn't the most relaxing thing for the spearow in the heat of the battle, especially having flapped it's wings quite hard. So now, the battle was in your hand. Your Team
ENEMY
But as Spearow made it's pass, Gulpin had noticed and began to conjure up another belch to produce a large amount of poison gas. And out it would go, pushing slowly right towards the spearow, but it had no chance of catching up. That was until the Sunkern spun the leaves upon it's head to work as a turbine to push the poison upon Spearow quickly. Spearow was about to be poisoned for sure, that was until a gust came from off the path and pushed the poison gas out of the spearow's path! Who had done such a deed? Well, a quick glance would reveal an angel on your shoulder...literally. :adoruby Lvl 7

Josh figured that the Gulpin would be the biggest challenge in the fight. Its level was higher than all three of Josh's Pokemon and two of his Pokemon were poisoned. The Sunflora didn't seem to be that much of a challenge, so its priority of being fainted was lower than the Gulpin's. "Ok Spearow, I want you to do another Peck attack on the Gulpin" said Josh. "Raymond and Swinub, I want you both to focus on your speed. Once you've done that, Raymond you use a Tackle attack, and Swinub you use a Body Slam." Right as he gave the order, he felt something on his shoulder. A strange angel-like figure was resting on it, looking at the battle between the Pokemon. Josh looked at the Angel Pokemon, "Hi there, I could really use your help. Right now I'm in this battle, but this is not the place where I want to be. If you could please use Sing on the Gulpin and Seedot, it'd be much appreciated." Josh hoped that the Adoruby would help him and get away from this battle. He didn't want to be there, he just wanted to get out of this town. "Hopefully everything goes well," Josh thought to himself. "Maybe I can even get this Adoruby to join my team." The battle truly was heating up. Five Pokemon locked in combat, and one angelic diety sitting on your shoulder. The Adoruby looked at you inquizitively, and back to the battle. It flapped its wings and lifted off your shoulder, but, much to your disappointment, it only ended up traveling as far as your head. Not too surprising. She may have helped you out of a tight spot, but you were asking it to make this battle a 4 on 2 beatdown. After plopping down on your head, she smiled and continued to watch the battle with great interest. It looked like the battle was in yours and your Pokemons hands. Speaking of those Pokemon, Spearow cawed loudly and flew towards the Gulpin, hitting it hard with a Peck right between the eyes. The Gulpin yelped out and let loose with a cloud of Poison Gas upwards, but Spearow was too quick to get out of the line of fire. The noxious gas missed its target. Raymond sat down and began to focus on its speed, trying to pump itself up and make him more agile. While it was concentrating, the Sunkern leaped towards Raymond and started to leech some health using its Absorb attack. Unfortunately, the type disadvantage worked against you and caused extra damage. Swinub sat, forgotten completely, and also worked on boosting speed. The little tyke was a trooper for not being scared in this monstrous battle. Unfortunately your two Pokemon also coughed, the poison clearly working away at them. Raymond, now with boosted speed, barrelled forwards with a Tackle attack, blasting towards the Gulpin with high velocity. The Gulpin growled and fiercely pounded on Raymond's Shell with its feather...head...thing... Your Swinub went next, launching forwards using its Body Slam attack. It hit the target, but the Gulpin quickly got up and steeled itself for more. The last one to act was the Sunkern, sneaking up on Raymond and hitting him with another Absorb attack. That about wraps it up for this turn of events. What do you do now trainer? Your Team

Raymond and Swinub were both under the effects of poison, while his Spearow was perfectly fine, not taking any damage so far. The Gulpin was starting to get weaker and the Sunkern had only taken a little bit of damage. Hopefully in about two more posts, this battle will be over and Josh can go leave Millenia Town. But back to the battle, "All of you guys, I want you to focus on your attack power" said Josh. "After you've done that, Raymond use Tackle on the Gulpin and Swinub you use Body Slam on the Gulpin too." Josh turned his attention to his Spearow, "Spearow, if the Gulpin is still up, then use your Peck attack on it, then use another Peck attack on the Sunkern. If the Gulpin is down, then just use Peck on the Sunkern." Josh had the number advantage, but his Pokemon's levels weren't so great. Swinub was a level 1 and was really weak compared to all of the other Pokemon. Perhaps instead of leaving Millenia Town, he could stay and teach his Pokemon some new moves. Sure the move tutoring would take a while, but the end results would surely be worth it. I think maybe it's time to use some stuff from the promos? Yes! |

Numbers are nice, but if your Pokemon's levels aren't high enough you can end up in a real bad situation. Luckily for you the only weak Pokemon here is your Swinub. Raymond and Spearow can cover for him to an extent. I'm just surprised that the wild Pokemon haven't focused on Swinub really at all. If I were them I'd have focused all my efforts on getting it out of the way, but as you can probably tell, I am not a Gulpin or a Sunkern. These two Pokemon, however, ARE a Gulpin and Sunkern, and their strategies have now changed. Why? Because I said so, that's why. All your Pokemon Focused on increasing their strength. Spearow, being the most experienced, felt the effects first of the three. Not really the patient type, Spearow dove off to Peck the Gulpin. He hit the blob right between the eyes and flew off. Gulpin was dazed for a moment, but recovered fairly quickly. Spearow seems to have flown to a safe height, so Gulpin and Sunkern ignored him for now. Gulpin started inhaling, a sure sign of something bad. While she was doing that, Sunkern started Growing. Raymond started feeling the effects of Focus, and went in for the Tackle. He rushed forward to Tackle Gulpin. In fact, he rushed right into Gulpin's Yawn. Raymond started to feel a bit sleepy. He kept going and hit Gulpin with a hard Tackle. Swinub, the last to feel his Focus, started to move. He rushed at 0.0004 mph at Gulpin for what I can only assume will be a devastating Body Slam. As Swinub moved forward, Sunkern shot out a Mega Drain at Raymond. The attack drained quite a lot out of him, leaving Sunkern with full health. Looks like she's more of a threat than you thought, eh? Swinub finally made it to Gulpin. He threw his body at the blobby thing, causing a bit of pain. Gulpin was barely holding on at this point. She opened her mouth, probably to release another Yawn, but was interrupted. Spearow flew down fast and slammed his beak right into her back. Gulpin collapsed. Well, now you've just got Sunkern to deal with. Unfortunately, Raymond may not last much longer with that Mega Drain. I'd hurry this up if you could. So far the battle was going pretty well. Raymond was hit by the powerful Mega Drain attack and left him hanging just on a thread. The Gulpin was out of the way and now only Sunkern was left; still a decent leveled Pokemon. Since Raymond was nearly out for the count, Josh decided to use him for one last attack. "Ok Raymond, I want you to focus on your attack again. But keep that focus for as long as you can, then when you get an opening, use a Tackle attack on the Sunkern with all of your might." Josh turned his direction to Swinub, but what are the tactics for him? Swinub took some damage, but the Mega Drain could potentially knock him out in one punch. Not left with many options, Josh decided to use the same strategy as Raymond. "Swinub, I want you to focus on your attack again and then use Body Slam. Try and really nail the crap out of that Sunkern" ordered Josh. Now his Spearow was left. Spearow was still in perfect shape, but slightly tired from doing a lot of the work. If the attacks from Raymond and Swinub hit the Sunkern, then it should be ready to go down. "Spearow, I want you to focus on your attack too. Fly up and try your best to distract the Sunkern, but try not to use too much energy. If Swinub and Raymond manage to land their attacks, I want you to fly in and use a Peck attack." Now that his strategy with his three Pokemon was finished, Josh looked at his shoulder and saw that the Adoruby was still there, watching the battle. The Adoruby looked back and Josh and titled its head. It was probably wondering why Josh was looking at it. "Umm... Hi" said Josh to the Adoruby. "Since you're like, an angel-like Pokemon. Is there any way you can cure my Swinub of its poisoning? I mean CMON, would you want to be poisoned like him?" What's the excitement of RP'ing if you don't do anything stupid? Am I right? ------------- Used my 3 move thingy on Raymond, focus on attack x2 then a tackle attack. Also, doesn't focus last for 3 turns, and not two? Edited by Sheik, Mar 1 2010, 03:32 PM.

(Focus only lasts 2 turns) Hmm where to start. There certainly was some action going on. Your pokemon had their orders and were getting ready to execute them. You were leaving them temporarily to go talk to a wild pokemon. Asking the Adoruby to cure your pokemon of poisoning wasn't the smartest of things, I can tell you that now. She stared at you for what felt like an eternity. Then turned to your Shellder. With a laugh the angel pokemon spread her wings and flew up slightly into the air. Watching, you waited for Adoruby to work her magic. However she didn't seem to be doing anything. She was just watching the battle, more intensely than earlier. She payed no attention to you, who stood there waiting for her to cure your pokemon. She just...ignored you. Raymond, your Shellder, started to focus on his power. Concentrating with all his might, he was ready to dish out some serious damage. Launching himself up into the air, he went to deliver a powerful Tackle, striking the Sunkern hard. But Sunkern wasn't beaten yet. Looking at Raymond, she started to zap away his energy. This seemed to deal super amounts of damage, healing the pokemon quite a bit. It wasn't looking good right now, in fact, Raymond was unconscious. Swinub, started at his usual pace, and tried to deliver a powerful Body Slam. Focusing on his attack as he ran forward, the slam hit hard, and again the Sunkern protected itself by using Mega Drain once again, healing itself almost completely. Finally was Spearow, who watched as these attempts to attack were countered by the Sunkern's healing ability. Flying up high, he focused on his attack and flew around Sunkern in circles. Picking up speed he flew down and smashed hard into Sunkern, dealing not only but super, but critical damage, almost wiping out Sunkern completely. Sunkern tried to counter this with a Mega Drain, but it didn't seem to heal as much as the last two. The battle looked like it was almost over...but what was Adoruby waiting for? Raymond, using the kamikaze method by Josh, landed the Tackle attack on the Sunkern, but quickly regained its health with the Mega Drain. And not only that, Swinub was hit by it too, so the Sunkern restored even more of its health. Not looking good. Josh returned Raymond into his Pokeball and quickly devised a new strategy for Swinub and Spearow; his new, just traded Pokemon. Swinub was low in health and Spearow had used a lot of energy. Josh wanted to end this quickly, and that's what he was going to do. With a lot of luck, and a super cool mod who will ref this epicly awesome like post thingy, Josh can finish this battle and start move tutoring his Pokemon. "Swinub, I want you to focus your attack twice. Then once you've done so, charge at the Sunkern and use a Body Slam with all of your might!" He turned his attention to Spearow, "Spearow, I want you to focus on your attack again and use a Peck on the Sunkern. But here's the catch. Swinub is slow, so I want you to fly low and in front of Swinub. Since Sunkern's attacks aren't that effective on you, Swinub won't get knocked out and this battle should be over!" It was a bold strategy, I think... If Swinub can make it, and land the Body Slam attack on the Sunkern, along with Spearow's peck attack, this battle should be over. But it didn't end there. Josh looked up and saw that the Adoruby was high above him, watching the battle. Josh was unsure of what the Adoruby was going to do, but he didn't need that right now, he needed to focus on the battle and focus on knocking out the Sunkern. ---------- Swinub used two focuses to increase his attack, then is going for a body slam. Spearow used one focus for his attack and is using a peck, but is flying in front of Swinub, so he can take the Mega Drain attack. Edited by Sheik, Mar 7 2010, 02:27 PM.
