. : Millennia Town . : Safe House . : Gible Egg [3.5/15] The thug and you faced off in this hallway. White walls showed minor water damage, while the tiles on the floor had just a touch of grime to them. Overhead, the fluorescent bulb hummed, and occasionally gave a flicker. This was tight quarters, but both of you were using melee fighters. Can you imaging the damage that Flamethrower could do in here? No one would survive! The Pokemon stared at each other. If this were a movie, the camera would be rotating around the pair from behind them. Then we'd get close up shots of each of their eyes. But, as it stands, almost everything you could see was the glossy exoskeleton of Scyther. "Scy..." Scyther was the first to make a move, as he closed his eyes, and Focused on his Special Attack. As Scyther opened his eyes, Purrloin turned, and kicked some sand into the big bug's eyes! Sand Attack was successful, and Scyther was trying to wipe grime from his eyes! This made him mad, and he fired off the first Vacuum Wave! Vacuum Wave is super effective! Once again, a faint glow appeared on Scyther's bladed hands. He chopped through the air, creating another Vacuum Wave. The blade of air (well, lack of air I guess) rushed down the hallway, and struck Purrloin across the top of her head. The area stuck turned a darker shade of purple as she bruised. That had to hurt! "Dirty pool mate." The thug's Purrloin became darker, as shadows surrounded her body. She rushed forward, slamming into Scyther's leg. It wasn't as crippling as Vacuum Wave had been, but Pursuit inflicted some damage. Hope you don't want to switch out, that'd be really dangerous now. After the attack had landed, Purrloin returned to her master, ready for the next set of commands. Good luck trainer! You ![]() Thug

13th page! The hallway was small, leaving them nowhere to run but from the way they came. But where the thug came from is where Sengjin needed to go. After all, he was searching for Red's pokemon, going where the thug had come from could result in him finding Red's pokemon. Anyway, the battle commenced, each of them striking, and dealing a hefty amount of damage to each other. The young trainer saw that one of scyther's vacuum waves had bruised the top of purrloin's head; that was something he would take advantage of. He just hoped that scyther's lowered accuracy wouldn't affect his execution of the plan. "Okay, scyther, use two more vacuum waves on the purrloin. I know your accuracy is lowered, but you see the bruise on the top of her heard? Attack there. That'll put the hurt on her." Scyther's lowered accuracy might prevent him landing his attacks, but the young trainer hoped that since the move was of a higher priority, he would have the advantage of landing the hit before the purrloin could move out of the way. At least that's how he hoped it would go... Since the hallway was so small, maybe that would help nullify scyther's lowered accuracy. If the battle area is small and crowded, where's there to go to avoid any incoming attack? |

. : Millennia Town . : Safe House . : Gible Egg [4/15] Oh yes, Thirteen. Let’s see if this number doesn’t bring much bad luck to the oncoming post(s) huh? It would be bad if that would happen. Like walking under a ladder, or spilling salt. But neither ladders nor salt were anywhere in this hallway. Only You, the thug, the flickering light bulb above and the hideous wallpaper on the walls. And talking about the grunt, he must be a dumb one, attacking a bug with blades for arms with a cat. But still you went on with the battle. The moment you issued orders, so did the thug. Asking a lot from your Scyther; locking on a spot on the Purrloin’s head while having some residue sand stinging in his eyes. The cat was again covered in a dark aura and came running for another attack. Scyther couldn’t really see much except a slightly blurred scene and an extreme close up of a dust particle, but he covered his blade with another glow and released it in the cat’s general direction. This time hitting in the middle of her face. Not exactly where you’d want to have it, but still, it was a hit. And it broke the attack she was making. Yelling with a painful meow she was thrown back, but came to her feet again. This time she wiped another paw full of dust into the eyes of Scyther. Perfect, more fine material to irritate his eyes. He made his blade glow again, and shot off another Vacuum wave. This time hitting straight on!....The wall. And it left a menacing mark on that nonetheless dreadful wallpaper. To top things off, it seems he hit a water pipe, making a fine spray of water come out, and land on the floor inches behind the grunt. Thank you accuracy loss~ luckily it didn’t hit anything supporting the hall way. “Why you little….” The grunt snarled. Realizing that he could have been hit instead. His Purrloin, still with the bruise and a slightly lighter bruise on her forehead, proudly returned to her station. But it wasn’t over yet. So much for preserving this loft for future owners. Heh, Page thirteen for ya. You ![]() Thug

Darn, Sengjin thought to himself. Out of all the things that make him tick, having his pokemon's accuracy lowered is one of the things that's high up there on the list. Just below him not being able to find the television remote after he had just placed it somewhere. Anyway, this turn didn't go so hot for the young trainer, the purrloin lowered scyther's accuracy again, causing him to miss the second vacuum wave. The second vacuum wave brought down part of the wall, oops, he thought to himself. It's not like the building is going to be used in the future. The water that was coming out of the wall gave Sengjin an idea. Since scyther's eyes had sand in them, if he used that water that was coming out of the wall to wash his eyes, maybe his accuracy could be brought back to normal. It was worth a shot. ""Okay, scyther, you see the water that's coming from the hole in the wall that you made (sorry about that). Use that water to clean out your eyes. If the purrloin gets close to you, strike it with your scythes, she'll feel that! If everything goes according to plan, use another vacuum wave and hit that bruise on her head." He hoped the plan would work out, he was really worried that scyther wouldn't be able to get the sand out of its eyes. Luck has been on Sengjin's side plenty of times, he hoped that it would be on his side once again. |

Millenia Town - Safe House Gible Egg [4.5/15] Scyther was really feeling the burn of the sand in his eyes, and it was quite irritating. Any chance to get it out from there was something he'd readily take. "'Ey, Puddy Tat, 'it 'im wit a Pursuit an' a Growl!" The cat dashed at Scyther, filled with dark energy. She smacked into him, throwing off his balance mid-dash. Well, he wouldn't stand for that. He smacked her out of the way with a Strike, throwing her into the wall for some added damage. The thug dove out of the way to keep from being bowled over by the rampaging bug. Finally, when Scyther got to the water, he was able to wash some of the sand out before the spray of mist stopped. It was better than nothing, right? Purrloin got up and Growled loudly at Scyther, but unfortunately for her Vacuum Wave is a special attack, and thus not affected by Growl. So hooray for you. Scyther slashed into the air, sending a powerful wave at Purrloin. The Vacuum Wave hit hard, almost knocking the little cat out cold. Still she held on, ready to take her trainer's orders until the end. Scyther was still unable to see perfectly, but it was better than before. A few more hits and he'd take this cat down! The water worked, Sengjin thought to himself. While it didn't wash away all the sand, it got most of it out, which was great since scyther was able to land both attacks on the purrloin. The turn was over for both trainers, the end of the battle coming near with it in the young trainer's favor. One more attack should be able to take out the enemy purrloin. The strategy for the turn was simple, attack and knock the purrloin out of the battle. "One more vacuum wave ought to do it, scyther. Use another one if you miss," he said. Not a great thug, Sengjin thought to himself. If all of them were like this, finding Red's pokemon should be a breeze. While this thug was a cake walk, he assumed that the deeper he went into the building, the thugs were going to get rougher and harsher. The young trainer was going to find out soon. Find out if there are badder men in the building.

Millenia → Safe house labyrinth → 5 / 15 You're right, this thug was a bit of a push over, wasn't he? Everyone you'd come up against so far were just low-level thugs, errand boys. The higher ups, and their red queen (who of course had a taste for precious gems), were far stronger. Perhaps you could come up with a diplomatic way to get that kid's pokemon back? With an imperceptible nod, Scyther's long, blade-like arms began to glow with fighting type energy. Before him, Purrloin tensed, her tail whipping from side to side. She was looking ratty an exhausted, she was almost down for the count. Behind her, her trainer fumbled for words, sweat beading along his forehead. "Purs-, no, Fury Swi-, no..." Valuable time wasted. Scyther suddenly slashed and the energy came towards her in a wave. Too exhausted to run, too confused by her trainer's mind numbing stupidity to attack, it was a direct hit and she was done. Her body struck the grown with a soft mewl. The defeat was enough to propel Scyther to the next stage of life in a flash of pale white. Hardened green exoskeleton became steel-like crimson, scythes became more manageable pincers which were opened and shut with curiousity and new found strength. This? This was nice. The grunt, however, was going to stand around and admire the transformation. Immediately her trainer recalled her before turning tale and run. No sassy comment, just a look of fear on his face. Not of you, of course. You were just some kid. But the higher ups? They could do a lot worse to him than knock out his pokemon. Being of the wise and actiony sort, you immediately pursue. If anyone knows how to navigate this labyrinth, it's probably him. Fast on his tail, you follow him down a series of turns before he manages to outrace you, speeding out of sight around a right corner. As you turn it, rather than the back of some jerk you're face-to-face with a portal. Unable to break your gait in time, you run straight through and into the adventure of a lifetime. Wave after wave of dark creatures were fought and bested. Now you emerge through the portal that you'd entered. The hall is empty but there's a door with a ghoulish knocker leering at you. There is no doorknob. With a cackle, the thing suddenly animates, the ghoulish gargoyle-like head grinning wide as he sings you a song, "If you have it, you'd like to share it. If you share it, you haven't got it. What is it?" "It's a riddle." A familiar voice comes from behind, accompanied by a calm set of foot steps. Looking a little haggard, but pleased, Red has managed to catch up to you. "One of the thugs told me it's controlled by a ghost pokemon. We can break the knocker and defeat the ghost, or answer the riddle." Well! Certainly looks like Red got a lot of good info out of whatever thug he managed to find. But.. there seems to be a dark specks of red on his shirt. Better not think about that. After that face-burning incident, who knows where the kid'll stop? Spoiler: click to toggle

The battle went exactly how Sengjin wanted it to go, quick and easy. His opponent returned his fainted pokemon and retreated, heading deeper in the mysterious building. After being in awe for a few moments after seeing his scyther evolve into a scizor, he returned him back into his pokeball and chased after the guy he just beat. He ran down the hall and turned a corner, facing a mysterious portal. In a span of a few seconds, he was teleported away to another area of Alternia then sent immediately back to where he originally was. Well that was... weird, the young trainer thought to himself. Glad that the whole ordeal was over, he continued to chase after the thug, rounding another corner and then being stopped by some... thing. The thing wasn't normal; it sang to him, "If you have it, you'd like to share it. If you share it, you haven't got it. What is it?" Red joined Sengjin shortly after and spent the next few moments trying to figure out the riddle. He thought carefully of the words, trying to think of something that one wouldn't normally think of. That's what riddles were anyway, he thought to himself, things that seem obvious but slip through people's minds. They bounced ideas off of each other, but neither agreed on what the other had to say. "If you have it, you'd like to share it... If you share it, you haven't got it..." Sengjin said to himself. "What do I have that makes me want to share it. Do I have anything that you want, Red? Do you have anything that I want? Maybe, like... you're keeping something from me and maybe that's why I want it?" He leaned back on the wall, thinking of answers. "If you share it with me, you don't have it anymore... It can't be something like money, because you can take it back from me. So nothing that either of us can physically touch, just something... we can say." He turned to the ghostly figure, "If you have it, you'd like to share it. If you share it, you haven't got it." he said to the ghost. "What is it?" he rhetorically asked. "A secret." |

Sengjin actually solved a riddle? This was a first. Now that the door was open, both trainers went inside the very large room and were met face to face with more thugs. Both of the thugs were holding a magby, Red clenching his fists and gritting his teeth at the sight of them; those must have been the pokemon that were stolen from him. He found it interesting that his little partner had two very rare pokemon, especially one that Sengjin was particularly fond of. Anyway, one man stepped forward and sent out his pokemon, declaring to them that if they could beat him they would get the magbys back. If they didn't... well they knew what would happen if they didn't. Sengjin and Red looked at each other before sending out their pokemon, both of them acknowledging and understanding how important this battle was to them. "You take care of that mightyena," he said to Red. "I'll take care of the rhyhorn." He sent out Hurf Durf and ordered him to use blizzard three times. The large storm would certainly chill the room, knocking some justice to the thug leader's pokemon. He's going to regret letting us go first, Sengjin thought to himself. |

Sengjin chuckled happily when Hurf Durf used his three blizzards to knock out the rhyhorn and put the hurt on the mightyena; he was really glad that he spent the time to teach it to Hurf Durf. Despite the powerful move being slightly inaccurate, the young trainer did enough damage to significantly give them the advantage against the thug. With only one pokemon left in his arsenal, for all they knew, the battle could be over in one more turn. The mightyena took some good shots, a couple more from Hurf Durf and Red's growlithe ought to be able to knock it out. Just one less obstacle they needed to go through to get Red's pokemon back. "Okay, Hurf Durf, great job with the blizzards. Let's see if the mightyena can take another one! If it misses, use another! If it's still standing after the first blizzard, finish it off with a body slam." He looked over to Red, "You might want your growlithe to stand back for a moment and let blizzard really hit that thug's mightyena." He didn't want an ember to interfere with another blizzard, especially if a single blizzard can take out that mightyena. Besides, if the battle ends after this turn you can get your pokemon back, Sengjin thought to himself. He was still in disbelief that Red had two magbys, such rare pokemon for a young kid, a kid even younger than Sengjin himself, to have. He put away the slightly jealous thoughts aside again and put his mind on the battle. Even if things go in their favor for this turn, there's no telling what the thugs are going to do to them afterwards. |

Millenia Town Safe House: Final Chamber Gible Egg 7/15 Seiryu Egg 2/25 All this aggravation to get back two Magbys from a bunch of thugs that have severe social issues and Pokémon from the Team Rocket book of thuggery? Yep, seems like a fair trade to me. Looks like you've been doing a fairly good job so far, downing the Rhyhorn with relative ease! The Mightyena, being the stronger of the two foes, was a much tougher opponent - though of course, it was one Mightyena against your Swinub and Red's Growlithe, so perhaps this battle wasn't going to take quite so long as it first appeared! "Growlithe, Bite," Red muttered, still seething with rage at the torment his Magby partners were suffering at the hand of these crooks. A momentary nod of the head was Growlithes response, baring his teeth towards the hyena-like Pokémon. However, he elected not to jump forward just yet, seemingly aware of your Swinubs attack orders. Having drawn in enough glacial energy from his previous attack wave, the Pig Pokémon unleashed a torrent of cold air, ice, snow and freezing rain upon the hapless Mightyena. Being as weakened as she was, there as no real escape for her - one more attack would finish her off. Which the Growlithe provided, charging forward with bared teeth. The Puppy Pokémon wrapped his jaws around the Mightyena neck, delivering a crippling bite upon the weakened Dark type Pokémon. Whether the bite had suffocated the Bite Pokémon was not evident - but what was clear was the the Mightyena, like the Rhyhorn before it, was out of the count. You and Red had won! "Ugh, you useless...whatever, here are your Pokémon you little s***," one thug growled, dropping the Live Coal Pokémon that he had seemingly tried to strangle all this time. The other thug followed suit, watching as the two Magbys wandered back towards Red, relieved that their ordeal was over. Just as you and Red turned to leave this Safe House once and for all, a sudden crashing noise caused you to glance back - only to see that the police had arrived to apprehend the two thugs! You didn't see them pass you to get in, so there must have been a back door of sorts - that would have saved you so much time, don't you think? Regardless, now that the police were here, this ordeal was virtually over for you and Red. You had helped a young man in need, whilst Red had managed to get his two Pokémon back from the clutches of the thugs. But how did the police know about this safe house and what had transpired? "We were informed of an incident by a man with a melted face. Are you two alright?" a police officer stated, approaching the pair of you with a relieved look upon her face - at least there were to be no more casualties caused by the actions of these thugs. It seemed as though she had been made aware of all this by the man you two had dealt with earlier - not such a bad guy after all, right? Regardless, with the back door open, you and Red decided in your wisdom to get out of this horrid place - can't say I blame you, to be honest! "Thank you so much...um," Red admitted, pausing as he realised he didn't know your name. "Ah whatever, it doesn't matter now. Either way, thank you - without you I wouldn't have got these little guys back," he muttered, glancing down at the two Magbys fondly - before returning them to their Pokéballs. "In fact...why don't you take one?" Red queried, holding out the two Pokéballs in his hand. What a pleasant surprise for you! Anyway, here you had two Magbys - one male, one female. After a blizzard from Hurf Durf and a bite attack from Red's growlithe, the battle and search for Red's pokemon was finally over. With no more options left to fight back, the two thugs gave back the magbys to their original owner, Red. Sengjin let out a sigh of relief, no longer having to deal with the thugs that were in the safe house; he could finally go back to do whatever he wanted to do, stress free. There were many options out there that he was still considering. Nogou sounded like a nice place to visit, green and peaceful. Perhaps I could go to one of the offshore islands, he thought to himself. Then again, would he be that safe on a boat by himself in the middle of the ocean? "We did pretty good out there," he said to Red as they began to find their way out of the building. Suddenly a crash came from behind them. Sengjin turned around, expecting more thugs to come out, but instead saw that it was the police there to get rid of the thugs. A little earlier would have been nice for the two trainers, but better late than never, they said. After their brief interaction with the police, they left the safe house and were outside. The young trainer was ready to say his goodbyes to Red and wish him good luck for the future, but before he could, he was given the opportunity to take one of two magbys for his efforts. Shocked with how rare the pokemon were, it took him a moment to calm down and relax. "Wow, you're really just going to give me one of them? I don't know what to say... I'm grateful... Umm, I suppose I'll take the male one, then. Thanks, Red." He reached out, taking the gift from Red's hand. Next stop: Pokemon center to rest up and re-arrange the team. Millenia Town Town Centre Sunny Gible Egg 8/15 Seiryu Egg 3/25 Freedom! Finally you're out of that 'Safe' House and able to see the light of day - and thankfully for you, it was quite sunny outside instead of absolutely tipping it down. I assure you, you won't be seeing those crooks again - the police have seen to that. Better yet, you now have quite the rare Pokémon in your team in the form of Magby! Not very often that you can get someone like him, is it? Anyway, with the House fully behind you and the young trainer you helped waltzing off to do his own this, you made your way across to the nearby Pokémon Centre - whereupon the obvious thing to do was to heal your weary Pokémon team. After all, you didn't want to make your way out into the wild blue yonder with weary Pokémon at your side, did you? The nurse immediately took your offered PokéBalls, placing them into the healing machine as per usual - before returning them to you, unharmed. "Is that your Pokémon?" the nurse muttered, pointing just behind you as she returned your PokéBalls - whereupon there was a rather odd sight of a bird Pokémon ruffling his feathers in the middle of the Centre. Obviously it wasn't yours - but it looked remarkably strong, despite the rather bemused look upon his face. You don't want to damage anything within the Pokémon Centre - but maybe this little guy needs 'taking' care of? POTENTIAL ENEMY Level 25
