Crystal's Journey

As you stepped out of the front door you were greeted with a cool breeze and a glaring sun. You'd said your goodbyes, had everything packed and you were ready to set out on your very own adventure. Standing on the doorstep with your Larvitar's pokéball in hand you glanced around you. It was the same old Millenia Town that you'd always known, but somehow today you saw it in a different light. The street running to the left of your house was still a suburban street, but suddenly the bushes and trees running along both sides were now potential habitats for any multitude of Pokémon.

But the town wasn't all that had changed. You now saw the townspeople through new eyes as well. It now seemed that every second person that walked past was either a Pokémon trainer or coordinator, or else some other form of Pokémon user. There was the older man in the red jacket, who used to only be the older man in the red jacket, but now he was the older man in the red jacket with three pokéballs clipped to his belt. Then there was the boy in his late teens, the eight or nine year old girl, the group of school children playing in the park, and even some of the soccer mums driving past in their minivans; all of them were now potential opponents or allies.

So I guess this is where you make up your mind as to what you want to do. You've got a few choices: you could challenge one of the aforementioned people to a battle (except of course the soccer mums in their minivans, as they're all long gone by thin point), or you could go and scrounge around in the undergrowth in hopes of finding some more Pokémon to add to your team. Otherwise you could get to know your Larvitar a little better; it might be nice to teach him some new moves or play with him for a while, or even to give him a nickname so that he's not just another Larvitar.

Or, you could just take a wander around Millenia Town. You know, meet the people, take in the sights. I'm sure that if you look around enough you'll find that there are plenty of opportunities for young Pokémon trainers like yourself. Anyway, give it some thought, think about where you'd like to see the start of your journey taking you, and then act on those ambitions. The sun's shining brightly today, but the future's shining brighter!

Being in a place like Millenia Town, there was an infinite amount of things to do. Crystal breathed the fresh air and sighed, she had finally arrived. The sun was shining like no other, it seemed as if the whole world had brightened up just because she did. People of all sorts were walking about the streets, tall, short, fat, thin. But what made them seem alike was the fact that they all had a very merry feeling.

"Wow this place is great! There are so many people," Crystal said to her Larvitar...Who was still kept inside of its Pokeball. A bad habit that Crystal began to develop was that she began to talk to her Pokémon, even if it was still inside of its Pokeball. People walking by would think she was probably schizophrenic, or maybe just downright crazy, but that didn't bother her one bit. None of those people mattered to her right now, they weren't important. There was nothing like the feeling of independence, it was about the time she showed the world what she was made of.
Crystal began to feel a tad bit lonely, and slightly awkward just standing in the middle of the street...by herself. Her one and only choice for company, was resting in a small ball right now. She reached her hand to her belt and grabbed the Pokeball tight in her hand. Crystal threw the red and white sphere high into the sky, it clashed with the sunlight making it hard to see.

Everything happened so fast, the rush was something Crystal wished that everyone could experience. The Pokeball opened and an extremely vivid red light came bursting out, almost like fireworks. The red light soundlessly hit the ground, and a blinding white silhouette of a Pokémon came into view. The red streaks of light vanished, and there standing for all to see was Crystal's Pokémon, Larvitar. Larvitar immediately ran up to Crystal and began to slightly bounce up and down, due to excitement. "Hey Larvita-...Wait I should give you a nickname, give you some individuality. How about...Diablo? Yeah, Diablo sounds good," Crystal spoke to her Pokémon, leaning down and petting his head. Tyranitar gave off what seemed to be a smile, and agreed with the choice of name.

All that was left now was deciding what to do now. Crystal was in the mood for some action, so she looked around to see who she could approach for a battle. Out in the distance, Crystal saw a young girl. 'Hmm, she seems like a good person to get started with. Wait, don't get too cocky, she might have the skills to whip your butt,' Crystal thought to herself. Slowly, but confidently, Crystal and Diablo approached the little girl in hopes of a good first battle.

So your journey, while hardly even started yet, could only be described as successful so far. You were in a good mood, so was your Larvitar, he seemed to like the name you'd picked out for him and the two of you seemed completely pumped for this adventure that you were about to undertake. I'd call that successful, wouldn't you? Just a shame that everything in life isn't quite so easy as being in the right mindset, otherwise life would be a breeze!

Anyway, there's not point in delaying you in your journey any further. You've spotted an opponent, a young girl about eight years old with light brown curls cascading down her back. She seemed fairly happy-go-lucky and carefree from where you were standing, which might be a good sign, and it was the weekend so she obviously wasn't on her way to school.

The little girl saw you approaching and let her eyes scan you completely, but it wasn't until she spotted Diablo that her eyes lit up and a huge smile spread over her face. "Hi there!" she called out with the confidence of a teenager as she took a few running steps towards the two of you, "My name's Becci. Your Larvitar there's looking pretty tough... did you want to have a battle to see just how good he is?" She reached into her pocket and extracted a red and white sphere which she the proceeded to toss from one hand to the other enthusiastically for a few moments before tapping the button and releasing a Riolu by her side.

The little fighting Pokémon looked around with wide puppy-dog eyes and just like Becci's, his face lit up as soon as he spotted your Larvitar. He hopped up and down on the spot and let out a playful squeak. "This is Nibblies," you returned your gaze to Becci as she spoke. "I've been trying to teach him how to use Force Palm, but so far I haven't had much luck. Anyway, what do you say? you want to have a battle?"

Crystal smiled with confidence and excitement, finally a battle! This was the moment Crystal had been waiting years for, but she never thought she'd be as nervous as she was. Of course she wouldn't let it show though! Confidence was key, that's something Crystal will have to remember throughout her journey. Now was the time to prove that she was worth something.

The small girl by the name of Becci called out her Pokemon with such enthusiasm, the Pokemon was one of which Crystal had never seen before. Crystal whipped her left arm out in front of her, which had a brand new Poketch secured on. The Poketch was a simple blue color, with two buttons on the side used to scroll through applications. Crystal pressed the top button to the Pokedex App that was installed. As soon as she pressed another button, the Poketch activated and spoke with a computerized voice.

"Riolu, the Emanation Pokemon. It has the peculiar power of being able to see emotions such as joy and rage in form of waves."

Crystal put her Pokedex away, and dropped her backpack on the ground, landing with a loud thump. "Nibblies," Crystal said, "That's a really odd nickname for your Pokemon. Alright, you're going down, Becci!" Crystal turned her head towards Diablo and nodded, getting ready to start her very first battle. Diablo jumped forward and prepared about three feet away from Nibblies, doing various stretches and what not. Whatever the outcome of this battle, Crystal won't give up and will continue to train...Even though it would be a major bummer, she can't take a loss to heart.

"Alrighty then Diablo, let's get to it! Start off by lowering Nibblies defense using Leer! Then get him with your Bite attack!" Crystal yelled. "And beware of Riolu's Force Palm and Quick Attack!"

(Ah........ For future refference, you don't have a pokedex, but a Poketch with a Pokedex App. It's a small watch device with a button or two on it, and it does a bunch of neat things... There's a pic of it in your profile. So.... You maaay wanna edit those parts out...)

Well now, a battle in the middle of a tutor. It's tough for the tutor-er, I'd know, but usually easier on the opponent. But not in this case... The only attacking move in your arsenal is a Dark type, which, with Rock and Bug, do half damage to Fighting types. While the opponent is learning something super effective against you... You're stuck with disabilities. Maybe... Hey, you could try a move tutor of you're own!

Ground, Steel, and Normal type moves do regular against Fighting types, so that's a choice of Dig, or Earthquake if you're ambitious, Iron Head, and Thrash; Thrash being the easiest, but least reliable. Or, you could always try your luck with the half-damage attack. It's really all up to you here. But remember, if you do go the tutoring route, only Gmods and up can do it, so make sure you say something next reff request. Actually, if the Riolu is going to be learning Force Palm throughout the battle, you need to request Gmod anyway...

Well, I think that's enough blabbering, so let's get onto the battle!

"Nibbles! Let's start with a Quick Attack, then try out a Force Palm to test what we've got so far!"

The Riolu shot forward first, immediately initiating a Quick Attack. It began dashing forward with after images trailing behind it every time it deviated from a straight line. Diablo couldn't prepare for it due to the insane speed the attack used, and was hit fully by it. However, Larvitar's Rock type resistance halfed the damage, thankfully. However, that blessing is now going to be a curse, as the Riolu then spun around and began to try a Force Palm. Although.... Should the Riolu really be using it in battle so early into learning the attack?

Raising its paw, and, struggling, gathering energy, the little dog-like Pokemon ran forward to deliver a charged palming attack into Diablo. Crackling energy surged through the paw and arm, shimmering, and dimming in and out as it ran. A clear sign of inexperience with the attack, but it was holding currently. However, nearing Diablo, the energy faded before Nibbles could land the attack. He stumbled forward in the shock of the sudden loss of focus. Now on the ground, Nibbles was completely open to any attack by Diablo.

First staring down at it's fallen opponent, Diablo delivered a Leer attack to bring it's defense down. Then, it jumped forward, clamping his mouth down hard on the Riolu's arm in a Bite attack. It looked painful, but still, only did half of what it really could do. Still, the defense down did add to the damage done slightly.

The two Pokemon got back up, and scrambled back to their trainers sides to await their next orders. So now.. It's up to you. Continue the assault as you just did, or try and get a new move into your arsenal. All completely your desision, and none of my concern really, as I can't finish this battle.... Remember to request a Gmod+!

(Alright, thanks Sora!)

'Well, this certainly puts a spin on the situation,' Crystal thought to herself. She hoped that Diablo would be able to stick it out the rest of the battle. Crystal assumed that it's never easy battling at a disadvantage, but it's not impossible. All that was needed was a well thought out plan and skill. But being a novice trainer, Crystal couldn't come up with either. Her parents always said that you learn from mistakes, ohh yes how correct they are.

Diablo scurried back to Crystal's side after delivering his Bite attack. He stood ready, but unsure of what would come next. What a confidence breaker it would be if they had lost their first battle, but there's only one way to find out. Crystal began fiddling around Diablo's Pokeball, just out of slight nervousness. She knew that if they continued to deliver the Leer then Bite attacks, they wouldn't progress very far. Her only real ideal option was to try to have her Larvitar deliver a new attack. Sure he'd be extremely inexperienced, but it's the only plan she has. But maybe sticking with Leer wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Crystal got on her knees, down to Larvitar's height. She smiled and said, "It's going to be alright, I promise. Now, I'd like you to try something new." Diablo's head cocked to the side as he began listening to further instruction. "Diablo, I want you to hit Nibblies with another Leer attack, but this time try and follow it by an Earthquake," she explained with full confidence. The Larvitar's head still remained in the same position due to confusion...Clearly unaware of the trainers request.

Crystal sighed, time for an explanation. She thought it over for a few quick seconds, then tried her best to explain this move to Diablo. "Alright, an Earthquake attack is basically sending an earthquake throughout the ground...By pounding the ground hard with your legs, you should be able to release a ton of energy into the ground," Crystal explained. Diablo was still a bit confused about the whole process, but she couldn't exactly blame him...Crystal got up on her feet, maybe it would make more sense to give somewhat of a demonstration? "Hmm...It's kind of like this," Crystal said. She jumped up as high as she could in the air, then came down hard with a loud thud putting emphases on her landing and legs. Just barely shaking the ground, but it was the best that she could do. "Jump high and strike hard! The goal is to strike the ground so you will send shock waves throughout the ground!"

Diablo looked at Crystal with a bit of understanding, it would've been much easier if they weren't in the midst of a battle. The Pokemon turned around back towards Nibblies, preparing for its first attempt at Earthquake. Crystal launched her hand forward and yelled, "Now Diablo, go! Strike the ground hard!" Who knew if her plan would work, it was the best she could come up with. Curse her being a newbie trainer! Crystal didn't actually think they were really going to pull off this stunt, failure is bound to happen sometimes. But failing will give Crystal and Diablo more information about the dynamics of battling, they will never forget their mistakes. There was a rush of thrill with a mix of anxiety going through Crystal, and she suspected Diablo was feeling the same.

Alright, since I've turned green since the last reff, this IS my problem now... Karma, gotta love it.. Let's see now... Oh, you went for the hardest one, huh? I've got to warn you, it'll be extremely tedious to learn Earthquake at this early of a level, with no base move, and during a battle. But, it's not 100% impossible. Just 99.99%.... But enough scaring you, time to actually write this reff.

"Alright Riolu, focus more on putting your soul's energy into your palm, then releasing it as you hit the Larvitar!"

And now, attempt two at Focus Palm. The explination really wasn't all that good, but her Riolu got the idea that energy has to leave his palm when it makes contact. With a quick nod to the instructions, it quickly ran at Diablo, focusing hard on the attack. So hard that it didn't see the Leer coming in time, and it's defense took another hit. Hey, with another Leer, Bite will do over regular damage! Gotta love those starting status moves, right? Repeative uses of one actually build over time. But now's not the time to party over the Riolu's weakness, it's time to try and create an Earthquake!

As the Riolu ran at it, Larvitar started jumping up and down madly. It thought that if it could jump enough, eventually the ground would erupt in some sort of attack. But sadly, this wasn't the case. Although, a pebble a few inches from Diablo's feet shook slightly whenever he landed from a jump. There was something happening here, atleast. But the overall effect was nowhere near reached. Thought, with patient training and perfecting, the move could eventually be learned. If not in this battle, afterwards? Earthquake would be a great attack to have, especially this early on. And after that, a Rock type move to get those Flying types that Earthquake holds no bounds on. Back to this battle for now, though.

Larvitar's jumping detered Riolu for a moment, but it soon caught the rhythm of the jumps and pounded it's tempered attack while Diablo was in mid-air. Althought the body of the attack was there, the power wasn't. It ended up being a slightly more powerful Strike attack, to Larvitar's good fortune. But, even if barely, it was a fighting type Strike-like attack, and it showed somewhat in the damage.

Earthquake doesn't look like a possibility this battle, so why not stick to Leers and Bites? A Sandstorm may also aid you in widdling down it's health, too. We can focus on Earthquake after, yes?

Diablo landed on the ground hard after it was hit by the Force Palm attack. Clearly they would need to work on Earthquake more after this battle was finished. Crystal sighed, sure she was the slightest bit disappointed. But she knew the chances were pretty slim that they would manage to pull it off. She wasn't angry, she understood that Diablo was not prepared. But now they had to come up with a new plan.

The Leer was going well, that was something they should definitely try again. But not to the point where it would cease to have any affect on the Riolu. Crystal almost forgot that Larvitar had another move in his arsenal. She'd never seen an actual Sandstorm before, so this would be quite the treat. So Leer, followed by Sandstorm? Or vice versa? It could be possible that if they launched a Sandstorm followed by a Leer that the Leer would fail in affecting Nibblies, being blocked by the sandstorm. This little girl was whooping her but without breaking a sweat! Curse disadvantages...

Well that was one possibility, one out of maybe three? But Crystal had an idea...Not exactly full proof, but it seemed to make some sense. Diablo approached Crystal after recovering from the last recent blow. Crystal smiled and bent down to his height. "You're doing very well, Diablo, I'm proud. I have a new idea," Crystal began. She thought it through one last time, then tried to explain the game plan. "Okay, Leer is going very well, so we'll continue with that. So attack with Leer another time, this time really try and focus in on him. Afterwards I have a pretty good feeling that he'll come charging back with a Force Palm. If and when he does that, I want you to grab the hand it's attacking with. Once you have good hold of the hand, attack with Bite. Because it's so close and unexpected, it should inflict normal damage. It may be difficult, but we won't know until we try."

Diablo seemed to understand the plan. She hoped this would go much smoother than the epic fail Earthquake. She gulped, maybe a trip to the Pokemon Center would be in order. What if Riolu surprised them by trying another attack? With her luck, that's bound to happen...but nowadays anything's possible. Crystal got back up on her feet and sighed, let's hope that this next move was in her favor. "Get 'em good, Daiblo!"

Right now, you were probably on the losing end in this fight, right? However, you had an advantage – your opponent was tutoring a move to her Pokémon – which you could use effectively. You should know, as a Trainer that a Pokémon won’t grasp a move right off the bat and are more prone to mistakes! Perhaps you could capitalize on that the next round, and hope that things turn around for you before little Nibblies, the Riolu, masters Force Palm. In that case … you’ll be in a tough spot, mark my words. Anyway, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of this fight and leave the strategizing for later; you’re a smart girl, aren’t you?

Nibblies turned to face Diablo, having received orders from his Trainer. The Riolu seemed to have a good idea of what to do this turn; it shone within his eyes. Undeterred, Diablo focused on the blue canine and summoned the energy to leer at the Riolu. Once again, this lowered the canine’s defense, making him that bit more vulnerable to physical attacks. However, physical-based moves meant going close to the Riolu, and it would indirectly give the little Pokémon yet another chance to perfect Force Palm. It was a good move, but somewhat of a double-edged sword, don’t you think?

As soon as Diablo so much as blinked, Nibblies was already upon him, ramming into the Larvitar with his shoulder. Stunned for a brief moment, Diablo hurriedly got into gear and tried to take advantage of the brief pause between strikes to attack with Bite. Even though there was no palm coming in for him to clamp his jaws upon, he felt that it was the right thing to do. As soon as Bite met its mark upon Nibblies’ upper arm, a palm came, smashing down on Diablo with force. It wasn’t a perfected Force Palm – thank goodness – but, you had to admit, he was somewhat getting the hang of it already. The force wasn’t like what one would expect, but it was coming along nicely … if only your Earthquake of the previous turn had worked!

The two Pokémon were locked together, Diablo not in the least intending to let go, and Nibblies not wanting to lose this opportunity to try out Force Palm. Perhaps it would be time to break out Sandstorm and let it slowly whittle at the Riolu’s health.

“Nibblies, you’re great! Next time, we’ll try projecting some of your emotions into your soul and then, into the foe!”

That didn’t sound very nice. Heh.

Crystal sighed, what to do now. Things were definitely not going in her favor. Diablo and Nibblies were still locked together, she could see the look of determination in both of their eyes. The Riolu's Force Palm was certainly getting better and better each time they unleashed it upon Diablo. Too bad they haven't seen any of their his other moves, not knowing what other kind of strength Nibblies could possess.

Crystal thought about it for a moment, looks like it's time to break out the Sandstorm. At least it would lower Riolu's health each turn, slowly, but effectively. If and when this battle comes to worse, it seems as though Diablo will have better luck attempting another Earthquake. Crystal began to replay what previously happened with the failed Earthquake attempt. It hit Crystal that maybe why the Earthquake didn't work was because Diablo was jumping far too many times, releasing the same amount of energy in each jump. Frusturation was a big flaw of the previous Earthquake attack. What Crystal should have told Diablo was not to jump repeatedly, but to jump once with ten times the force.

"Diablo, I want you to use Sandstorm! Then after we'll try another Earthquake attack. This time, I want you to jump once, but with the same amount of power as if you were to jump fifty times!" Woah there...let's not confuse the Pokemon. "Well...Just jump with as much power as you possible can, and land hard. Don't get frusturated, just focus on the power from your body and into the ground!" Crystal did her ultimate best to explain this move to her Pokemon, boy did she have a lot to learn.

Edited 1-31
Crystal was eager to see the result of this intense battle, one of the most important moments of her career. As she stood there, her Poketch began to began to beep. She didn't realize it at first, but then she looked to her wrist to see the screen flashing. Crystal pushed the side button of her Poketch and the screen popped open that read, "Zaroff Weekly Lottery". She furrowed her eyebrows, a lottery? Gambling was a bad habit, or so she was told...But it wouldn't hurt? One try and that's it, unless she manages to get lucky. Then maybe this might become a regular thing. So she punched in for five tickets and chose random numbers one after another.

I know you're out there somewhere...
Immediately, the other trainer began to bark out his orders as well, no doubt wanting to do as much damage as possible before you could possibly turn the tide of the battle. Diablo thrust himself away from the baby Pokemon and started to focus hard, and you could begin to see some specks of sand start to drift their way. "Nibbles, use another Force Palm, and this time I want you to put as much of your essence as you can into this. I mean your soul, the fiber being of you, that core inside of you that tells you what you are. Form it into an energy and place it into your palm and then thrust it as hard as you can at Larvitar, releasing all of that energy."

By now the Sandstorm was at full effect, and now Diablo had moved on to try to use Earthquake, though he was taking his time on figuring out what you wanted him to do. Nibbles had moved in really close and you could see a faint blue aura encased in his palm, which he thrust at the Rock/Ground type Pokemon. Diablo let out a great cry and stumbled back, and Nibbles was hit with some of the Sandstorm, hurting him a bit. Not wanting this round to be end in complete failure, Diablo tried to do what you had asked him to do.

Diablo jumped as high as he could and then tried to throw himself down onto the ground with as much force as he could. Unfortunately, he couldn't do all of that and land on his feet, but he did land on the ground and cause it to slightly grumble. I'm not so sure that this Earthquake thing is really going well for you. Are you sure that it's your best bet?

Crystal cringed as she watch her partner, Diablo, agonize in pain. Throwing him out there, expecting him to do something he just isn't capable of doing yet isn't such a good idea anymore. There just wasn't a way out of this, not with Diablo out there. "Diablo, return!" Crystal yelled as she got out Diablo's Pokeball, retrieving him from battle. Diablo turned a bright red, then emerged back into its Pokeball. "It's okay Diablo, you did your best. You were at a disadvantage anyways, and we'll work at it again next time," she spoke to the Pokeball.

Next, she reached towards the inside of her jacket, and pulled out the next Pokeball in the slot. Crystal pushed the button, enlarging the Pokeball, and tossed it up in the air. "Cole, it's your turn!" she yelled as her newly obtained Pokemon, Nidoran, emerged from the ball. As it landed on the ground, Nidoran shook and took in the fresh air. Nidoran looked all about, taking in its surroundings. "Okay, Cole, we're in the middle of a battle with Nibblies. So, I want you to charge at Nibblies with your best Peck attack. Don't feel bad if you mess up, we'll just try again. Alright, go Cole!" What was Crystal thinking? Well it made sense, didn't it? Diablo wasn't going to last another 2 minutes out there with Nibblies...she did feel bad, but it was the truth. With her new Nidoran won from Zaroff's Lottery, Crystal could come at this battle from a whole new angle. With Nidoran's Peck attack, she now had the advantage. If only this would be enough to win them the battle.

Just after she called out her Nidoran, her Poketch began to beep. 'Oh right, the lottery...Hmm, let's see... Crystal pressed a few buttons on her Poketch, submitting numbers to the lottery.

I'm wrecking this place up like a tornado of vengeance! Sideways is the best ways! Look out, Aro. You're about to be diago-NAILED!
Pulling Diablo out was best for everyone, really. Though Becci pouted a little as you denied her a victory, she didn't really mind; the whole point of this battle was to teach her Riolu Force Palm, and she couldn't do that on a fainted Larvitar, could she? She watched with curiosity as you pulled the tired Diablo back, and then let loose your new Nidoran. That put a spanner in the works, somewhat; Force Palm wouldn't be so good against a Poison-type. But then, maybe that would make the battle last even longer, making sure that Force Palm was learnt... and there was nothing to say that Nibblies had to keep using it once it was complete.

However, there was a more serious spanner in the works for Becci. There was the issue of Peck, and that Nibblies' defence was severely lacking.

Cole had always wanted to be able to do this! Work with a nice human, win battles, generally be awesome. He turned on the Riolu, ready and prepared to do you proud... and was met by yet another Force Palm. It seemed that Becci was resorting to sneak attacks, and had send Nibblies out on a speedy strike before you had even finished talking! Though she seemed nice, her priorities were clear around this fight. The attack, in and of itself, didn't do much damage, but it was clear that the Riolu was getting the hang of Force Palm with every attempt.

"Nido!" Cole called out angrily, and charged forwards, horn-first. Nibblies leapt about, ready to take the attack, waiting for Becci's word.

"Now, Nibblies!" she called out, and Nibblies just had time to grit his teeth and prepare for the worst when Cole struck him. It was clear that, had Becci not commanded Endure, that would have been the end of the match; all the status effectors, as well as the super effective, was devastating. Cole sprung away, triumphant, half expecting Nibblies to fall then and there - but he did not. He was trembling, tired and ready to fall, but the determined Riolu wasn't ready to give in. Not quite.

As Becci had quietly commanded him while you had been talking to Cole, Nibblies put all of his effort into leaping forwards again at the surprised Cole, utilising his one three-attacks chance. This Force Palm was the most successful yet, but Cole still came away without much harm. Nibblies, meanwhile, was on his absolute last legs.

"Just once more," Becci called out, knowing that this was almost over. "Just once more, then you're done, honey!"

I LOVE Avatar...The Last Airbender, yo.
Crystal smiled greatly. There is a god! But this whole battle could be turned around in a heartbeat. Nibblies struck Cole a total of three times, but he stuck it out like it was nothing. Finally Crystal regained a partial amount of her pride back. Who even knew the kind of humiliation she would face if she lost. It's not like the two of them were locked in some chamber alone together, there were civilians passing by!

As Cole backed up into his starting position, Crystal yelled, "Way to stick it out, Cole! Great job!" Cole turned his head slightly and nodded. Nibblies sure was a tough Pokemon, very quick and strong. Crystal began to think of ways to assure victory this upcoming turn. Cole would have to strike Nibblies first, or else Nibblies would master Force Palm. Honestly, Crystal would rather Nibblies master Force Palm. Mainly because if she were in Becci's place, she wouldn't want to lose a battle with a Pokemon who would've just mastered a move...but she still would love to win.

Okay, back to the battle. "Alrighty Cole, it's time to end this! Run as hard and definitely as fast as you can to hit Nibblies first. We want this to end as quickly as possible. Go go go!" Crystal yelled. Hopefully Becci won't throw a fit if and when she wins...

Overlord of Trains - GRUNTY GRUNTY GRUNTY GRUNTY
This battle was coming to a close, and it was the final strike. It's like the climax of a movie. Cole charged at Riolu, as Riolu in turn, charged too. "You can do it baby!" Becci yelled to Nibblies, hoping it would finish the move tutoring. As they got close, Riolu pulled it's palm back. Fully exposing it, it focused energy into it. Energy, and more energy.

As it got close to Cole, it swung it's hand forward, latching it's palm onto Cole. Energy bursted from the spot, blasting Cole and doing damage. Cole was pushed back a little, as Force Palm was successfully learned and used. Cole quickly got up, charging at Nibblies again. It slammed into it, dealing the last stretch of damage.

Riolu fell to the ground, fainted. You had won the battle, as Becci returned Riolu. Becci might've started crying a little, as she ran off with haste. Hey, at least Force Palm was learned. So what are you gonna do now? There are numerous options. Like avoid annoying girls who challenge you with extremely rare Pokémon.

Cole has won the battle! Cole gains 5 :exp !
Cole has leveled up to level 6! Cole needs 6 :exp to level up to level 7!

:riolu successfully learned Force Palm(Not that it really matters)!
