Millenia Town is probably the most gorgeous town at a certain time of hour for perhaps 5 minutes. The way the sun reflects off of the water and lights up the whole town is just mind-boggling to people and the ladies love it. Although, do you love it? With glowing water comes heads turning, and recent studies have shown that shops sell the most Poke Balls literally minutes before the sun strikes the water. That is because the Pokemon living in the water's edge come out to soak up the sun. Even the Krabby are spraying their Bubble attack, but not in a defensive manner-- to add beauty to the sight. And to compliment those bubbles, the Wingull squawking made the beach town feel more like a lake-side resort than a small town. The sound of the waves crashing down on the beach made Millenia a paradise to be had. But alas, the sun had to lower itself sometime, and it was now. While every other Pokemon that participated in making the ocean pretty-ful were heading off to home, there was one last species making its late debut-- Staryu. As the lined themselves up along the shore, they started flashing their middle gems like mad. This, too, was also a very beautiful sight to behold. So what's it gonna' be, chief? Care to try your luck at Patrick Star? |

"Staryu, eh?" She muttered the words, cutting her eyes up and towards an empty spot of the sky, raising an eyebrow. This city was awfully beautiful, and it seemed to be filled with Pokémon, but there's something about an eyeless floating star with a power gem that catches your eye. The young woman took a few steps down towards the crashing waves of the beach, as if picking out one of the many Pokémon here to battle. It didn't really seem to matter, as long as she found one of a compatible level to her team, so she found one far enough away from any other Pokémon as not to disturb her. Even though it was getting on in the morning, these shining gems looked like stars. It was dazzling, like she was walking along a beach that couldn't decide if it was morning or the middle of the night, or if it was a beautiful ocean resort or a massive industrial city. For a second, the thought, "This this the afterlife?" might have come to mind, but there's no such thing as a ghost of a ghost. Horribly over-dressed for the beach, Shuffle's eyes started back up to the empty air and she gave a nod--but it wasn't her imaginary friend in play. Phasing in from the nothingness, Feu Follet appeared next to her, giggling to herself about something or an other. In an awkward flight pattern, she made her way over to the Staryu, phasing in and out as she tumbled through the air, so it looked as if she was jumping from place to place with some form of Teleport, although every time she appeared to the world of the living, she was in a different position, upside down once, spinning an other, eyes wide open the next--you get the idea--until she appeared near the Staryu. She had little to fear, after all, since just about anything this Staryu would fade right through her: Although that could be fixed in time with some training. So it was almost like doing a favor! Her red eye blazed with heat, while her off-colored eye started to dance with a shimmering cascade of colors. A bouncing, dancing hot energy wave--almost invisible to any onlooker that wasn't really looking for it, since it didn't displace the air as much as rising heat might--blasted forward from the depth's of Feu Follet's mind, crashing towards the Staryu! Shuffle crossed her arms under her chest, cocking her head to the side. She had said all of two words, and his Misdreavus was already aiming to please. If anything, it was a warm welcome to this strange a new land. |

The mass of amethyst stars lined up on the beach, flashing their little ruby-toned lights at the setting sun of the evening. (Check the first post, said several times sun was going down.) The staryu, varying in size and shade and the amount of seaweed and barnacles attached to their hard, plastic-esque surfaces, and some even sporting twisted arms from one event or another, or perhaps their diet. The one you'd picked was particularly spiral-y, spinning avidly as the crimson light reflected the setting sun. The lilac-tinted arms were striped with a deep-ocean-blue and dressed actively in seaweed, silent, sleeping barnacles attatched to it's underside and a little algea growing on one side of each arm, probably the sides that recieved the most 'sunlight'. It's golden crown was bronzed with rust, but seemed to have a glow of it's own, not to mention a bit of coral growing on one side of it, and the whole creature seemed to brighten the area, as did some number of the others in the group. The... 'Creature' was rather large, at least 9 inches larger than most of it's kin, and looked to be the most unique of the firing squad coloring the beach now, and must have weighed a good 20 lbs heavier. The jewel decorating the mon-staryu had a few small cracks in it from age and countless battles. The Psywave connected with the staryu, and the flashing grew to a maddened pace. The other Staryu either didn't notice or were preoccupied with their task of beautifying the beach. The staryu grew angry, but flew back only a short distance from the recoil. The creature turned sideways, so you were looking at it's arms, instead of directly at the gems, and shot off a watergun in a pinwheel motion while Misdreavous was still visible. The ghost gave a long, pained wail and wavered in her flight as she recovered next to you, only to be slammed in the face with a blast of frosty air that caught your arm and began to draw ice crystals on the little hairs standing up in the cold. Another long wail crawled over the beach, catching the attention of onlookers and the other Staryu, who seemed to be waiting for something. Wouldn't be long before the others would disappear into the water to return to their homes. They didn't seem bothered with your conflict with their twistier, more-decorated elder. You: Lvl 5 7/35 100%{Speed -1} Opponent: Lvl 17 57/59 91%Icy Wind The others on the beach winced for the Misdreavous, and a few 'That looked painful's were heard. (Next time, you might think about outlining which attack was used. I made the assumption that it was Psywave.) Edited by Flygon Breeder, Jul 29 2009, 02:05 AM.

Shuffle felt her face redden rather dramatically as she watched her Misdreavus get kicked back so powerfully, having been quite certain she'd have an easy catch to her budding team. Embarassed, sure--but almost frustrated she had put her new-found friend in such a spot so early. It didn't speak much for her skills as a Trainer, for one, and for an other...well, did you see that?! That was nearly a OHKO! But as the wind knocked past her, catching part of her in the chill of ice, she cut her eyes at the Staryu. Well, didn't that explain it? Staryu had to be taught that move, so it either had once been a trainer's pet or had a nice friend in the sea. So, it wasn't entirely her fault she was getting trumped so easily by the starfish--well, at least, not completely entirely. "Revenu, Follet." She said, almost in a whisper, to the floating Pokémon beside her, catching it in a red beam of energy, bringing it to the relative safety of her Pokeball, holstering it nearly on the hipline of her dress. Come back, Follet. The bow that followed might have caught any unlookers off guard, but she used her left hand to lift the side of her skirt, bowing with her legs and back, crossing her arm over her chest, as if she were meeting royalty--or at least a particularly impressive CEO--and spoke with a dry tone that couldn't really 'lack' sincerity, since it felt as if it had no substance to begin with. "Pardon me, my dear," A step back from the Staryu. "Perhaps next time." She locked her eyes on the gem--the 'heart' of the POKéMON--and took a few steps backwards before fleeing. -- Outside the Pokémon Center in this late evening, she brushed off the clinging bits of ice off her body and pulled Follet from her Pokeball, holding her in both hands--something that felt very much like holding cloth under water--to help pick up any remaining chunks of dirt and attack, her face in a smile of apology and humor at the situation. "It's true, you know," Spoken in her native tongue, "I'm not a horrible Trainer. Give me time." C'est vrai, non? Je ne suis pas mauvais à ceci. J'ai besoin de temps. Her little ghost make a small comment in -her- native tongue, but things seemed to be forgiven as they made their way inside the Center for healing and a bit of rest. |

The nurse smiled at you as she took Follet from you, as well as her Pokéball. It seemed as if she knew what exactly you had run into when she took your Pokémon and handed it to the Chansey on duty. The pink Pokémon smiled warmly at both you and nurse, before waddling into the inner rooms of the clinic, with a Happiny or two following her – they were probably interns or something along those lines … pupils, perhaps. On the counter, you could see that there were a few notes on Pokémon care lying around, but nothing of use to you. However, you were free to take a few pieces of note paper to jot down certain things you want to remember, and there were some short wooden pencils too. By the counter was a rack of magazines, and there still wasn’t anything of aid to a budding Trainer like you, but I suppose the magazine on Pokémon food wouldn’t hurt. Soon, the Chansey reemerged from the healing site with Follet and her Pokéball. The little ghost type seemed healthy and looking perky right now; a complete change from the Misdreavus facing off against the starfish Pokémon just moments ago … After getting your Pokémon, you stepped out of the building, where you were greeted by a rush of people. They were yelling and screaming as they darted down to the beach, and you noticed something extremely strange – some of them were holding nets, buckets, and even the odd pots! How strange a happening, don’t you think? The sun was setting over the horizon as you continued to stand before the Pokémon Center, the cool air-conditioning on your back, while the warm air from outside splashed idly on your face. The happening was odd enough, but you soon realized that it was mostly anglers and housewives darting down to the beach. Well, if you wanted to investigate or head back into the Pokémon Center (it’s getting late; a girl like you shouldn’t be out and about), it’s entirely up to you … just do whatever you want to – you have all the time in the world, after all! |
