Popple ftw
Don't you hate how people send you post cards from places like an island, and once you get there it's not as glorious as the postcard makes it look? Well, Kijutsu is the same way. In case you didn't know, your parents decided to make the move to Kijutsu not only to help the family business, but because old friends made it sound beautfull.

Well, what's done is done. The boring cloudy day brought boredom and people staying home today, meaning the streets would be empty. Of course, nothing can stop a gang-meeting except for the sight of flashing red and blue lights and the scent of donuts. Alas, those conditions weren't met on this day, so gangs were plenty.

Ignoring them as you walked down the road, some turned their heads at the sight of someone not wearing colors and walking alone. Of course, it wouldn't be fair to say 'alone'-- after all, Dante the Drifloon was floating behind you, as if he was some kind of security guard and you were the top icon among today's youth. Drifloon eyed some of the nastier looking thugs, but the moment they returned the look, Drifloon slowly turned away. Perhaps this little guy should chickity-check himself before he wrecks himself, hmm?

Well, the street seemed easy-going at first, but once you rounded the corner, the sight that awaited you was terrifying. Three men were surrounding a young man in a business suit, pushing him against the wall. They were going through his pockets like they weren't his, claiming whatever lay inside. When the man tried to retaliate, the three thugs knocked him down and started to repeatedly kick him.

As if that wasn't enough, the guy reached inside of his jacket and withdrew a Poke Ball, tossing it between the shortest guy's legs. When the light faded, a large bee was floating in the air behind the thugs. It smashed its pinchers together, attempting to intimidate the thugs. Not even phazed by the threat, the three men in retaliation released their Poke Balls.

And on the thug's side we have a Pidgey, Hoothoot, and a Tailow. Luckily for you, neither party has caught wind of you. Care to take sides, or run for your life while risking catching some attention?

Gabriel

Now some may think that all new adventurers have a burning desire to train and gain power and riches. But if they met Gabe they'd surely start to second guess themselves. That doesn't mean that he's not excited to finally be able to get out their and make a name for himself, he is! But he's just not that zealous of a guy. He'd much rather take things slow and let things unravel how they may. He's not going to force himself into any sort of situation that seems unnatural to him. That's why he's been on his own almost a week, but he's still wandering the streets of Kijutsu. He's been waiting for something to happen, something that will take him away from this town and on an adventure of his own.

But that special something probably wasn't going to happen on such an average day like this. Today felt like any other day in Kijutsu. Cloudy. Grey. But the overcast isn't even polite enough to let down a shower to wash away the grime off the streets. Just another gloomy day while the new trainers gone out to walk the town.

Gabriel may be the new guy in town, but he's lived in Kijutsu long enough to recognize thugs when he sees them... Or smells them.. He's learned that it's best to leave the gangs alone as much as possible. They're always just bubbling with some kind of passionate emotion that passerby's shouldn't get involved in. But it was hard for Gabe to walk on by when someone is getting beat up on. Gabriel's a sucker for seeing someone in pain and would feel too guilty if he didn't do anything to help them out. He's managed to get in a few brawls and even managed to weave his way in and out of a rumble on account of this. These fights, of course, have left him with many scars and bruises that still linger on his skin to this day. Having learned this lesson about staying out of all unnecessary fights, Gabe took notice of this fight and decided to watch the quarrel unfold from the sidelines.

He motioned for his Drifloon to stay as he surveyed the area a little more. His bright blue eyes darted across the newly discovered road, studying every inch of land he could see. Well, it appeared that the thugs had stopped beating on the man when he sent out some sort of flying Pokémon. But in return, the three men sent out a Pokémon of their own.

“Dude, three against one?” Gabe noted, raising his eyebrows. “That's rough.”

He looked up to his Drifloon and slowly started to give commands, “Dante, we really shouldn't get involved in something like this...” Gabriel was still thinking about what he wanted to do, so he was actually just thinking out loud. He raised a thick arm up to his face and scratched at his jagged chin, a habit of his while had to think harder than usual. Based on his better judgment, they should just run! But he was giving into seeing that man in pain.. Gabriel was going to crack any minute.

“But ahhh.. shit! We should... attack if they jump him again." He sighed, lowering his head. "If they try and hurt that man again, you should constrict the Pidgey. Keep it's wings down. That should make the battle a little more fair.”

The shaking Salaryman was almost in tears, and given a simple look at the situation, he had plenty of reason: one of his eyes were swollen shut, blood trickled from his nose and mouth, he was bruised all around, and he was on the ground, his fine suit dirty and torn. The three men had strewn his belongings around and picked through his wallet and other valuables...it wasn't looking like a good situation.

"Please," He implored, "I have a child."

Now, you don't know the guy's financial situation. Maybe he's just playing the kid card to keep a credit card, or maybe he's one of those types who is really desperate making it from paycheck to paycheck, and these guys could be seriously putting his family in a really bad situation by taking his money and whatnot. He was obviously desperate, since he had fought back instead of just giving up the money when he was attacked, and using a Pokemon to try and get it back...the air around this situation tasted bad.

"A bee, eh?" One of the thugs chuckled, outstretching his hands. "Ya really wanna mess with our birds?"

It was a chilling situation--three Flying-types versus a desperate man's only Pokemon, a Bug-type. There was no real way he could hope to win this battle, especially since the guy looked like anything but a Battler, but--his hand was clenched hard. Enough to make his knuckles white. His body was too beaten up for him to take on these three thugs, but his fighting spirit was strong enough for him to stay motivated.

"Beedrill!" He shouted, which enraged one of the men enough for him to bring his heel down on his chest, choking out whatever command he was going to give. His Pokemon's cold face didn't express any emotion at watching it's Trainer being torn up like this.

...but it's actions did! It's stingers illuminated in a bright light, and the screaming sound of the insect's cry echoed through the area as it launched a volley of Poison Stings at the primary challenge, the Hoothoot--it moved in quickly after, thrusting it's drill into the Hoothoot's direction, with a Fury Attack!

This launched your Drifloon into action, as commanded--it reached out it's cold, ghostly tentacles and caught on to the Pidgey as it moved to counter attack. As for the Hoothoot, it was still reeling from that initial strike, so it was Taillow that countered with a Peck attack, slamming into the Beedrill. One of the thugs was still digging his foot into the victim's chest, the other calling out commands--the final looking rather annoyed with your Drifloon.

Well, Chief, looks like you're in this one! What's next?
